Interesting drinks by I personally didnt love the order I did even though I asked them to add honey it just tasted like a taro root not much of a drink cocktail no sweetened the jellies that you add are sweet but theyre all the way at the bottom so it doesnt really mix but all in all its good to try Im sure there are other options that I will try out later and update my review. You can apply online or they have a screen but its hard to communicate with some of them because its not very clear how to mix or add sugar its more of a syrup.I like the vibe but since you cannot use the tables indoors theyre kind of stocked up like an assembly place or storage, could be laid out better but I like that they use good ingredients.Pricing: $$
The drink on the bottle is pretty but too small to drink, so don’t order in bottle unless you want picture or reusable bottle 😂 if they fill the drink with ice like other cafe does, the drink would disappear with a slip, but it came with less ice which was good.Since everyone said it’s too sweet, I ordered 75% for my taro drink which was mistake Loll it was alright and taste good though, not very special for me for the quality of drink.Their service was great, but not very fast. I wish they also have service to order website if they already have service to order by tablet at store.
Sweet. Really sweet. Either they screwed up, or the half sweet here is like full sweet elsewhere.
Excellent choice for delicious & creative tea drinks. Enjoy!
This has become one of my favorite MILK spots in the area. The quality, the presentation, the message behind maintaining only the freshest ingredients for their drinks...everything was just so impressive. I felt comfortable asking questions to the server and its so funny to even think I was intrigued enough to ask questions I never have to ask at MILK spots, but there were so many options that I wanted my first drink to be perfect!
I got the best friend (jasmine milk tea) and it tasted watered down, the boba itself was okay though. The jar I got also didn’t have the brand logo on it which was a bit disappointing. This makes me wonder if their speciality (bubble tea with a scoop of ice cream) is of the same caliber, since the tea isn’t spectacular. My other complaint is that I wish the names of the drinks on the kiosk had descriptions on the “Home Screen” to make it faster to decide what to get.
Edit to an earlier review, which is below: After my daughter’s fainting incident, the business owners reached out to her on social media right away, and were genuinely distressed it happened to her. They asked her for suggestions to make things more accessible, and met with us at their location on 8/13. They already made nice changes at the store, and are in process of further improving accessibility for disabled people. The employees involved were upset that they misinterpreted my daughter’s situation, and understand that they should err on the side of reasonable compassion. This is the most responsive and responsible one can expect any business to be, and speaks really well for them.My daughter, who has a fainting condition and a service dog to help with that, passed out while waiting for her order in this store on 8/11 around 7:20. When she came to (that’s what her dog helps with), and was able to get up, the employees told her to wait outside. She told them that she just fainted and asked to sit and wait for me, but “no waiting or sitting inside is allowed.” I understand store policies, but when you have a disabled person in an emergency, is this what you do???
Would give 0 stars if I could, the sticker on the door says they are disability accessible. That’s not true at all. If you are disabled don’t go here. They will treat you like you’re not human. Women passed out on floor due to her disability and staff ignored her and left her unconscious on the floor, and even rolled their eyes when asked to give her a minute after regaining consciousness. When asked if she could please sit down they told her she can sit down outside on the ground in the heat. Absolutely disgusting.
Please do better with your ableist staff*edited* I have to applaud how fast they worked to fix the situation. Thank you for genuinely listening to your customers and working to be more accessible for everyone.
Tea is good. They listen to requests for less sugar. Topping offerings are standard. What makes them stand out is the fact that they offer the option of adding a scoop of ice cream to your drink.Glass jars are not at an additional cost, but they hold slightly less drink. (Jars hold 16 oz, the regular disposable plastic cup is 20 oz) I adore the glass jars so I think Ill be back!
This is high quality good stuff. No joking. You get a really get a good portion of Boba, tea and everything as shows. I am a happy customer.
I’m asian and I’m a milk tea person, allI have to say is this place has one of the best milk tea despite the look of the place.
I first saw this place on Instagram and I knew I had to try it. It was amazing!! The price was not bad at all and the jars make everything cuter 🙂
Dont go here, especially if you are concerned about social distancing and boba milk tea with an actual tea + milky flavor! The tea itself is underwhelming and tastes watered down, generally overpriced even with the 3 free toppings.5.95 for plastic cup 20oz or glass jar 16oz. Very basic menu given the price and size of drink, the chai did have a chai taste to it, but the jasmine milk tea was pretty watered down. Honestly made better milk tea at home with ten ren oolong and grocery store half and half. You get three free toppings, but TBH even the boba was very plain. For example, kung Fu tea has honey or brown sugar boba, whilst this place has decently cooked but very plain tasting boba. Definitely does not justify the 5.95 price, and even the $5 pre-pandemic price is pushing it for the low quality. Also they had a sign that said 6 people max inside store, which was completely ignored by staff and guests. Literally a group of at least 8 walked in while we were waiting for our drinks outside. I am going to put some weight on this observation because I am an ICU nurse. Its boba time is across the street and you get more drink for similar price, plus it tastes less watered down. Gongcha is also next door, although it closes early, at least that has a reputation for boba that has an actual tea flavor. You can even get better quality at quickly. Just dont go here.
Love their Classic Milk Tea with Boba and egg pudding and their Affinity? Its Ice Cream with coffee. Delicious
It was my first time coming here while visiting LA. The menu is pretty self explanatory. You can order whats on the board or create your own boba tea mix. I love it, because you can add your toppings without being charged extra. You can also choose to take the glass jar home with you or go plastic. Everything was fresh and the service was great. Its a pretty neat place to get your fix of boba.
I was not impressed. I really expected more between all the positive reviews and the photos. I thought I would like it but it was just okay. The do-it-yourself toppings bar was meh. I mistook their coffee jelly as grass jelly and that really messed up my drink- obviously that mistake was my fault- but Im meaning to say they really didnt offer decent additions like grass jelly, agar agar or aloe.I had ice cream added to my Mango Melon tea- the kids chose Cookies n Cream (I wouldve chosen the coffee myself) and it was quite awful. It tasted like vanilla ice cream with some cheap cookies just added to it? Not what I expected. It wasnt even a good vanilla either and the texture was off, like an icy, frost burnt bargain store brand. I was really disappointed. My drink itself was just okay. I feel like I need to give this place another try but between me not getting out to DTLA much and there being so many other places I want to try for the first time, I dont think there would really be an opportunity to give MILK+T a second chance, unfortunately. One thing I really do respect is that they offer glass bottles. That is such a big thing to me as an environmentalist. I automatically chose the glass over the plastic, not even knowing that they were free. I would gladly pay an up charge for saving the planet.Service was okay (not great, not bad). There wasnt much seating and the decor was average.Aesthetics: 3/5Service: 3/5Food: 3/5Price: 5/5Recommend: No
The Berries Yuki is soooooo good!!! I love the blended berries & milk (reminds me of my Dads strawberry milk), & crunchy texture of the agar crystal pearl, & the strong hit of matcha... a delicious blend of bitter, sweet, & crunch. =) H liked her Crazy Strawberry, & for whatever reason, she tasted watermelon? Huh? Its somewhat like a sour patch drink, a bit of sweet, a bit of sour. The Blanket was a disappointment; Im guessing its taro & cream rolled up in a crepe like pigs in a blanket. The Blanket was cool/refrigerated, so the crepe was sticky & gummy. I say avoid the Blankets... both flavors, taro & matcha.
Really cool concept that I wish we had in the DMV. Boba create your own type bar, boba with ice cream and large enough size to satisfy 4-6 people. Prices are reasonable here and the ingredients are fresh. We saw the staff constantly fill up the bar items. I really liked the creamy strawberry drink and the coffee boba with ice cream. They have all types of flavors here and the store is kept really clean. Ill definitely be back to try out the different combination of flavors
I had a Chai tea in a glass jar and it was pretty good
Love it i get the slothee coffee w/ boba so good
A close friend of mine recommended this place to so I decided to give a shot. Wifey got me the Black Tea with Boba and she got the green tea. Both drinks tasted bland and watered down. Just a slight hint of tea flavor. I really dont have much to say about this place, just reminds me of a local Quicklys. Im not sure if this is considered a next level boba spot but we wont be coming back.1 star for the boba being petty good though. Good combination of texture and sweetness.
What Milk+T does well during the pandemic is their easy ordering and pick-up system. Everything else about the Milk+T boba is likely a good example of the hype. The classic milk tea was weak, and the cream watery. The boba was smaller than usual and not anything to write home about. I guess the jars seem to be the craze here, which they didnt have, so theres that. Fin.
I was SO excited to try this place out when we were in the area. The website made it look DELICIOUS. It ended up being a very mediocre boba place. We spent over 20 minutes just looking for parking on a Monday night. Nothing was all that exciting like I had expected. My bf got a coffee drink with coffee jelly and coffee ice cream, he said it was just good but he wouldnt order again. I was not a fan of their boba, but the ice cream was good in the thai tea but that was about it. It was okay to try once but I wont be going back
This place has been bookmarked for quite a while so I was pretty excited to try it when I visited SoCal. Ive had my fair share of bova living in the Bay Area but Im always down to try new places.Im a sucker for reusable jars/bottles. I got the pineberry with reduced sugar. Overall there was a good tea flavor and they definitely adjust the sugar levels to what you request. I enjoyed the toppings as well. Definitely a cute place and will probably come back when Im in SoCal.
Decent bubble tea. Nothing too special. Love their glass jars tho!
Got in, waited for a while and then they asked us out saying they’re going to have a team meeting and that they are closing… 3 people had to leave without anything after waiting. Lame
So I’ve been looking for a good boba place for awhile. I really enjoyed Coco but I LOVE this place. Their fruit teas are to die for. You get to add however much boba and toppings you want as well after you order. There’s a scoop you can add to your cup then they fill the rest with your drink. Also you know a place is good when they have good “Classic” teas, since it’s the most plain. :) A+ service, and you get cool jars to take home if you choose the 16 oz. Pics below!
An absolutely unique experience. Nowhere will you ever get to pick out your toppings like it was a buffet. Not only that, they have unique flavors of teas you wont find elsewhere and you have the option of buying the eco friendly glass jar thats the same price as getting the plastic cup.Their service is super quick and friendly and the atmosphere is great.I bought the Piglet which is not that sweet (but also, I got 75% sweet) and added boba, aloe vera and lychee jelly. Their milk teas are also lactose free so if youre lactose, live in LA and have a hard time finding a good boba place with lactose free milk teas, try this one.Definitely come and try it.
This is the best place to get some boba
The best boba place in LA. You put as much boba to your little hearts desire. The drinks are good. The servers are nice. The sitting area is quite roomy. Great place to hang or do some work. The only minus is parking, because there is none. You have to park in the street, and its almost impossible to find an empty meter. And the meter reader goes around the block all day and night! Bring some quarters because the meter meister is waiting for you!
In photo: Top Shelf. Black Milk Tea with coffee ice cream. Its choose your own toppings so I had boba, coffee jelly, aloe and a slice of orange (ever heard of cafe Borgia?).Ice cream quality is bomb! It had chocolate espresso beans incorporated.Tea is missle bomb!Overall quality is nuclear bomb of goodness that leaves you utterly wasted in food coma.
I think the “serve yourself” method is very cool for the boba toppings. The employees were very nice and informative. The space is large and welcoming, I really enjoyed the clean and minimalist decor. The #bobawasted sign was very interesting! Both times I visited there was almost no line and the drinks were prepared very quickly. The taste of the tea was a little mediocre, nothing too special, but everything else was great.
Really cool diy bubble tea place. I love that you have a choice of reusable glass jars or a plastic cup. It’s kinda lame how the plastic cup holds 20oz verses the glass jars that holds less (I think 16 or 18oz). I got the Thai iced tea which was not too sweet, just the way I like it. They also had a great selection of things to add to your tea
Come here whenever i’m in Little Tokyo, drinks are pretty good and service is usually quick
I came here from out of town and my friend recommended this place so it was a must try, and I loved it. The thai tea was very flavourful. Its cool that you can add any kind and amount of toppings, as most other bubble tea places Ive been to will charge per topping. They have a sign that says the more toppings you add, the less drink/tea youll get, which sounds like common sense but it can be very tempting to fill your cup with toppings. I also got the glass cup (despite it being smaller) so that I could take home to reuse. Would love to come back if im ever in the area.
Delicioso Delicious tea.Many fresh options
BEST MILK TEA I’ve tried in La
Always love this place its clean in there, a total vibe. There are different choices of sweetness for different peoples liking. The pineberry is my favorite.
I know its not tea, but their double shot with ice cream is my favorite boba ever.
It was a long line and it took forever getting to the kiosk they only had one . But it was worth it . I had a Togo 16.oz thats the biggest one .that was there large. With ice cream .
I definitely had seen this shop while watching some of my favorite youtubers, so I was surprised when I stumbled upon it. Love the sustainable glass jars and diy nature of this boba place. Would love to see compostable boba straws as well :) I got a glass jar but when I was done, returned it so it could be reused (since I don’t live in the area).
I have been to multiple locations and I absolutely LOVE their bubble tea (especially with a scoop of ice cream)!! I love how they let you serve your own toppings and boba. I have also ordered uncooked boba from their website which comes with a cute instruction card and is hand packaged. I would highly recommend visiting ordering anything from their website!!
Reality good milk tea! Love that you get to add your own boba and that you can bring your glass back for future discounts. The store has a clean, minimalist aesthetic and seems like it would be a great spot to study or answer emails. The location in Little Tokyo is really great - lots of shops around, and very walkable.
Build Your Own Boba! I had never heard. That is until I stepped into MILK +T. I got a strawberry drink. It was fun to put my own toppings so to speak in the drink. After I was done adding the boba and fruit they filled the drink up with almond milk and the drink was ready. It was super tasty, like better then a strawberry milkshake.
I recommend the Bad bunny! It had fresh taro in it. It tasted fresh and natural! It was worth the 2 hour drive!
This place is amazing. I love their drink concoctions lol, unique names, extremely flavorful... atmosphere is awkward though... but everyone is friendly nonetheless. Nicely priced as well.
Thai tea was solid, prices were OK!
NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES! Claim “disability friendly” but door isn’t accessible and the staff will gaslight and shame you if you have an episode. Only not giving 1 star so that it doesn’t look like a bot review.
Got the Piglet and Know Your Roots with my gf. The drinks themselves were a little underwhelming but the lychee jelly and boba were great! Just not sure the cost is justified :/ I’d give an extra quarter or half of a star if I could because the drinks were cute though :)
This is definitely one of the more trendy places that lacks in quality. They offer a self topping bar, and you can put in whatever you’d like. They do warn you that more toppings = less tea. The boba was a bit salty, but the lychee jelly was delicious. You can get either a traditional plastic cup or a glass bottle with a discount the next time if you bring back the bottle. The ice cream inside the drinks was difficult to eat through the straw, and honestly, I couldn’t taste it
The absolute best ice cream, and tea
This was my favorite boba places I’ve been too! I loved the drink, pink panda. Usually I get milk tea boba but after a while of drinking that my stomach starts hurting so when I came to this place and ordered I drank all of it!
I love the minimalistic yet aesthetic ambiance o this shop. I can see myself just sitting here all day reading a booking or sketching. Now for their tea:I do believe that they have better quality teas than other boba places out there. You can tell that they take the time to pick out good ingredients and brew their teas properly, unlike those cheap and disgraceful boba chains such as Lollicup, Quickly etc. that just brew bad tea and try to mask them with a lot of syrup. I always get my teas at 50% sugar or less because I love tasting the flavor of the actual tea and you can tell that they use fairly decent teas and natural ingredients. For example, I believe that they don’t just use fruit flavored syrups and actually use real fruits. They do use syrup as a sweetener but to a minimal extent. They also have a self-serve topping bar which I found that their boba, pudding and fruits were all surprisingly fresh. (I expected otherwise...but maybe I just got lucky that they just put in a new batch when I came)It is pricier than most boba places (~$5) however, you do get the quality that you pay for. I also like that they give you a cute glass bottle with no extra charge.
My husband and I have seen this little cafe each time we drive down foothill. One day, when those cooperate restaurants were slammed with people, we decided to try it out. Sure enough, Great experience. Feels like home cook food. Like customer service . Definitely our morning place !!
Would love to check this place out when were not in the middle of a social distancing pandemic. But we absolutely loved it, kids are begging to go back (were not from LA, its a long drive!). We got a couple of the ones with ice cream on top, such a nice treat! The boba were perfectly cooked and so fresh tasting, Im super picky about my boba and these were perfect. And the kids really love reusing their glass bottles, theyre their new favorite water bottles.
Super unique and delicious menu. A hefty wait time on the weekends, but would definitely love to come back.
SOOOO GOOD!!! MUST TRY!
The tea is really good and you can make alterations if necessary.
If I would change one thing, it would be how they deliver the drinks. I ordered through Postmates, and I didnt expect the ice cream to be inside the drink. Since the pictures show the ice cream on top, why not put the ice cream in a cup when delivering the drink? The boba was in a cup so why not the ice cream too? I didnt really get to eat the ice cream part since by the time the drinks came, the ice cream was already melted in mine. Sucks that you can only experience how awesome it should look only at their store.
