Great Neighborhood diner!!! Friendly attentive staff, delicious food and fairly priced for NYC. Very clean and promptly seated and served. I always enjoy this local spot!!!

Usual diner fare with some healthy options. Multigrain pancakes, waffles. I had the egg white low cholesterol omelette with sliced tomatoes and rye. Smoked salmon omelette looked good too. Plenty of meats for those inclined as well. At this point in life I much prefer coffee with eggs and toast for n Sunday rather than a haute couture Benedict and endless mimosas a la DJ.

We had our first lunch ( or any meal) inside the Metro Diner in over a year! And everything we ate was delicious. We sat socially distanced from the other guests. The manager reminded someone to put on his mask but did it in the most respectful way possible. We loved the service as well as the food!

Dont know about the dinner here but I had the breakfast and it was good. My wife and I had the French Toast with bacon. French toast fried well and the bacon nicely fried.Did not see it on the menu, but would like real Maple Syrup, Id pay for it like other places offer.Overall I was happy and my wife was satisfied.

Ive been here couple of times and i never get disappointed. The food is very good and the price are just fine. The staff is very attentive. I love the outside seating, it looks very beautiful and comfortable.

This review is not about the food. The food is good as far as diners are concerned. But the bathrooms were horrible. They were filthy. My husband said the same about the mens room. During this time of Covid they should be clean. What a shame.

I ate at Metro Diner many times. Last time it was during the Covid-19 pandemic and I sat indoors. Menu options, as expected and understandably, were limited but still plentiful. I ordered its Reuben sandwich with very crispy fries. The food was well above expectations. Service was quick and friendly. Safety measures were enforced effectively. I’m glad Metro Diner is still surviving despite the capacity restrictions.

Been coming here for years and havent had a bad dish yet. Seated quickly, food served promptly, staff super polite. Pictures show waffles and bacon, 2 eggs over easy with sausage, and the grilled chicken club with french fries.

This is the go-to diner in the Upper West Side. Classic, simple NYC diner grub. Amazing interior and excellent staff. Breakfast here is among the best I’ve had of any diner in the city, I regularly get Eggs Benedict or Chocolate Chip pancakes, always excellent. Burgers here are always cooked how you asked and presented very well. Greek owners so be sure to try the Greek dishes: the moussaka for me is absolutely amazing!

Always delicious...never disappoints. I get the Metro Frittata every time and its tremendous. I eat half for lunch and the the rest for dinner. Yum.

Fluffy warm pancakes, chopped bananas, super sweet sticky maple syrup and appetizing turkey sausage links. The mix between them all brings a dulcified taste.

Neighborhood Diner, of course Greek ownership. The food is good, classic American diner. The service is ok, nothing special, zero personality, I guess they can afford that, it was packed. Nobody greeted us at the entrance... the only interaction was: how many? The owner is always there and always looks upset...! I know it’s is a tough business, long hours etc. but life is too short, ENJOY!!

Classic American dinner with all day breakfasts. My wifes salmon salad was generous in size. My pork chops were just what I wanted. Not too big and not too small. Cooked nicely and with fried onions, although I just realized that they forgot the apple sauce. The chocolate mouse cake was incredibly moist--one of the most delicious I have had anywhere. Our one complaint was that when the air conditioning was in it was blowing right on us and too cold. Still recommend Metro Diner.

The Metro Diner is a very popular eatery at the corner of Broadway and West 100th Street in Manhattan. An established restaurant, it has been open for at least 25 years and I have walked by this place literally hundreds of times.My experiences regarding the food I have had here is that at times it is very good and other times nothing special. The Metro Diner does have excellent hamburgers with French fries, good salads and daily dinner specials in the $13-$20 range, plus tip.It is not noisy and it is a good place to have an enjoyable meal with family or friends.

Sometimes its five star sometimes its not, not polite phone person when ordering but I can say as regular customer the foods always been wonderful.

Welcoming and polite staff, big portions that you can split on two. What can go wrong? Id say nothing

Nice pleace to enjoy one of the many options of a classic american breakfast. I really liked the Lumber Jack Pancakes which are companied with sausage, egg and ham with additional strawberries. Also try the Root beer which is very good.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon. The place had a good crowd but I was seated immediately. I ate the veggie burger deluxe with a fruit plate. The lentil veggie pattie looked good/tasted delicious.

Metro is a comfort-food paradise. The staff work incredibly hard to satisfy their customers.

Fries are overdone and burger is *really* tough (both kaiser roll and beef patties are tough - the roll is stale, but I have no idea what is making the burger difficult to eat.) Cole slaw was awful.Service is good, and I have previously gotten ok food here - the chicken kabob last time was tough as well, though. I would think that the food was being overcooked, but it came out too fast to be overcooked enough to be tough. I believe the meats are precooked in the back and are then either recooked or microwaved before serving. For $16 for a burger, fries, and deluxe items (lettuce, tomato, and coke slaw,) I would have hoped for a freshly cooked burger.

Sat for 20+mins without anyone taking our order despite flagging servers and the manager several times. The people sitting by our side also had not placed their orders despite arriving before us. Don’t increase your seating capacity if you do not have the personnel to serve people in a timely manner.

Love the Metro dinner. Hip, solid Americana food in a 50s decor with the best chili and they will deliver. Love for the everyday, super hungry kind of food. You can never go wrong here. Love it!

Visited whilst on vacation in New York and found the food to be good (especially the lumberjack pancakes), the price decent, and the service to be friendly. Only dropping a star because I’m not a big fan of the syrup being provided in little disposable packets, I’d prefer a jug.

Awful service. Unless they know you then you will get great service.The food wasnt that amazing either. Dont recommend.The sun started shining directly in my eyes along with the table next to me. The boss went to the table next to me and put their shade down and ignored me.

I woke craving waffles so I got an order for pick up from this local diner. They clearly stayed home the day in cooking school that would have taught them not to put whipped cream on top of hot waffles and it in a container. By the time I got home it was an inedible Soggy mess. I was so dissapointed.
