The Mansion has a phenomenal menu that features burgers from Ottomanelli Butcher shops, bread including Orwasher’s cinnamon raisin bread for their French toast and about( at least) a hundred other menu items in their extensive menu. I had a delicious basil and tomato frittata and my wife has a wonderful omelet! The service was fabulous and I’m ready to move to East 86th and York so we can eat there everyday! They also have the coolest Halloween decorations on the entire building!
Yummm so good! The Mansion has a cute little outdoor seating area and indoor seating. Sunday morning brunch seating had a less than 5 minute wait 👌🏽 the egg Florentine was delicious. The hash browns were incredibly good: crispy outside, fluffy inside! The French toast was good as well. They left smuckers syrup on the table but they were very kind to bring real maple upon request for an extra charge. Can’t wait for it to get cold to try a hearty dinner plate!
Massive menu, attentive staff, super clean. Portions are large but its very pricey ($68 for a coffee an OJ and two brunch items). Nice diner and food is great but would only go for special occasions due to pricing.
Great service. Food is good as well. But little bit pricey. For 2 you are looking about 60 dollars for breakfast. But overall it’s a good spot
Stick to their breakfast and lunch staples and youll have an enjoyable meal. Prices are fair. Service is slow, so make sure youre ready to order everything at once (or risk waiting a long time in between visits from your server).
This place is great. 4 of us. Had breakfast. Everything great. Corned beef hash, pancakes, hash browns all notable. Great service. Pros. Very reasonable prices. Solid 5 star.
Excellent food, a bit pricey but worth it! Well be back and were not even from this neighborhood. We took a ferry to get here because it is a beautiful day. (Not that matters ha)
Havent visited in person but has an extensive menu available for delivery. The carbonara is Americanized but very tasty, I enjoy the mac and cheese and french onion soup as well. And the cheesecake from juniors is great as always. Didnt love the stuffing that I ordered once on a whim but no love lost.
Varied diner fare well prepared with friendly service. We ate here during a visit to New York on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the city. We liked it; prices are New York City prices. Staff are fully vaccinated but still wearing masks as of July 2021.
Love this place! Have a leisurely breakfast, with wonderful selections, quick and caring service, and Frank Sinatra in the air. Then go for a walk at Carl Schulz Park. Both are gems in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Been going here for a long time. Food is always solid, but the prices are a bit on the extreme side. What really made me give 3 stars is the way they sneak a surcharge onto your bill when paying with a credit card. The whole point of a restaurant accepting credit cards is to attract customers that might not have cash on them. A restaurant that punishes customers by adding a surcharge is pretty lame, but at least clearly have it displayed in a way that can be easily seen. Also, the way they went about it was very unorthodox. Instead of letting me know there would be a surcharge, they just went ahead and did it without asking me first. Overall, food is good, prices are high, and the credit card surcharge is pretty wack.
Always a pleasure dining here. 86th Street staple! Quick and friendly service and delicious food
Been coming here my whole life and love all the food. The caesar wrap is always my go to. Prices have gone up over the years but the food is always worth it. Staff is awesome and love seeing the same faces over the many years I have been coming.
This place is great i just had surgery and am staying at a hotel near by and Im so fortunate to have delivery from this wonderful restaurant the breakfast is so good plus the filet of sole is amazing both the entree and the sandwich seriously good. If you find yourself on the upper east side this is a great place to eat 🤩👍👍
There is great outdoor seating provided here, the service was fantastic, over all great place to negotiate a real estate deal.
They charge $5 more dish than their online menu states. That and the credit card fee, I paid $12 more than expected.. Hard to keep supporting places when they keep scamming you.
I love their food. Such great quality and the portions are generous. Cant say enough good things. I will always be a fan! Try the corned beef hash for breakfast. The chicken ceasar salad for lunch. Tje chicken ala king for dinner. Everything is soooo yummy! Now i am hungry!Love the staff and the owners ate the best. Customer service is their middle name! They are just the tops!
Great food and customer service. The staff was very welcoming. Restaurant is clean. Out door area was the best.
This is a diner. Says so right in the name. And as a diner, you know exactly what youll be getting. But as diners go, this is a very, very good one.
Ive lived in New York for forty years and Ive never been in a place like this. The food, the service, the employees treat you like family. Theres no place Id rather eat and socialize than The Mansion. So well run, so clean, so good.
Love when the chef owner comes out personally to check on patrons. And one of the best chicken parms in the city.
The mansion Diner was absolutely fantastic spectacular the food and service you must go and have breakfast lunch and dinner here
Amazing diner experience, terrific food and super friendly staff.
I can not begin to tell you how great this place is. Their attention to detail from Wraps, to dinners, to appetizers, to fries, and even their milk shakes makes this place a cant miss!
Foods is okay, They’re charging extra for credit and debit card payments so wired!
Wonderful diner on the Upper East Side. Been going here for over 40 years.
The food is less in quality and taste than a chain steakhouse but youre paying three times as much. The Beast only comes out a few times now. He walks around the middle and leaves. We checked in for our reservation 20min early at 6:55p and still didnt leave until 8:56p.
The food is really good for diner food and portions are large. But at the end of the day, this is diner food. And the prices are insane. I think my appetizer sized bowl of soup was $12. The pasta dishes were $25+. I would happily pay that in a sit-down Italian restaurant, but at a diner? Crazy. There are a lot of great options in the neighborhood with much better bang for your buck.
Great food and awesome service however very pricey for those on a budget.
Great food and service with plenty of outside eating options
The Mansion has created the nicest outdoor setting for dining. Picnic tables with umbrellas and large plants between tables are lovely. The friendly and attentive staff make it a fun thing to do during this time. The food is always fresh and good here.
Amazing burgers! Staff is super lovely.
Fun locals spot for breakfast in UES. Regulars who were there gave us some good suggestions on what to order and made sure we knew to pay at the register by the door. I ordered the Big John, which is a breakfast wrap on whole wheat with green peppers, egg, cheese and side of homefries. The Spartan yogurt with berries also looked tasty and filling.
Best food ever
Delicious comfort food.
Decent food but over priced. Is it the fancy location, or Gov. Cuomos forced pricing plan?
Classic diner. Food is fast and delicious. Staff is friendly. Price is fair. I go for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Cheap alcohol. The sangria is an excellent deal. You get a lot for 15$ and its good. Great service.
Food is so-so, and its very expensive for what it is (a diner). Also charging extra for credit and debit card payments.
Pre covid it always played the same music really loud. Too intense.
Solid diner, crazy extensive menu, slightly expensive for an omelet ($14) but the over all bill was quite reasonable. Good prices on beers and wines by the glass. Solid social distancing protocols though I was put off by the reuse of check presenters. To be fair, they may have sanitized them between tables but it was still a little surprising. That said, the streetside dining setup is lovely and its evident a lot of care and thought went into the setup. Would (and will) go again 😁
Diner food but very good (breakfast). Scrambled eggs and waffle were very good as was the soda bread French toast. Only reason for taking off a star was the coffee seemed a little weak. Excellent service; sat us for 2 then quickly got us a bigger table when a friend joined us.
Nice atmoshere
Place almost closed down. thank god it did not. i have eaten here my wholelife and i never think that will end.
Great Navy Bean Soup! The Gazpacho is average. Service is good. Prices are in line with other diners (expensive). Burger was good. Great coleslaw! Not stringy!
Two stars might be one too many. Its one thing to be a cheap diner with below average food. I get that. But I paid 14 bucks for two scrambled eggs, 3 pieces of poorly cooked bacon, and the saddest excuse for home fries Ive ever seen. It was actually worse than a waffle house, but 3x the price. At least the coffee and service was good. That being said, if your in this neighborhood and want an expensive diner experience, go 5 blocks further to Gracie mansion in 81 and 1st. At least then your paying a lot for above average fare.
The food at The Mansion was awesome. The service was really good. The staff was super friendly. I will definitely be going here more often. Prices here are very reasonable for the area its in. Its great for a quick bite or to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. They also offer take out.
Burger was delicious!!! and overall very friendly staff!!
Classic NYC. Great coffee. Amazing people
A great establishment for brunch or diner fare. Food is always satisfying and a decent portion. Professional staff. Can get pretty busy during peak brunch times. Bring cash!
The food is great, the prices are not diner food, more like full restaurant price, so just be aware its 20 dollars for a burger with fries
We came here for breakfast on an early sunday morning. We got our table right away, waitress was very nice.We had French Toast with bacon and a breakfast wrap. Both tasted delicious and also the coffee was really good. It‘s not the cheapest place.
The service can be good and friendly or less so. It depends on which server you get. There are plenty of tables and its clean. There isnt any lingering grease smell. The breakfast special is a good deal. The food is seasoned well and very hearty. They are good at refilling your coffee. Prices arent too pricey and portions are pretty friendly. Its a good go to for the neighborhood. Its what you expect when you want a diner, no surprises.
Reminiscent of a french bistro, step into this quaint NYC staple. Time seem to stand still with its amazing service and delicious offering. We had the pancakes deluxe and the portions are huge enough for 2 people. My corned beef hash was cooked to perfection. I love how kid friendly they were and they dont rush you.
Always fast, always good.
A classic New York diner/restaurant. Food was solid and service top notch. The quality of my steak and eggs could have been better however. Tasted very mediocre considering the price point. Very little seasoning and no crust on the steak. Had the price point been a bit lower I wouldnt have thought twice.A fan favorite of public service workers.
I got the chicken breast wrap with sauteed onions and mushrooms. No complaints, the wrap was good. My friends all said their food was good too. This place is pricey for diner food though. I would rather go to Midnight Express diner which isnt too far from this place for good food but better prices.
Mediocre omelets but good coffee and nice decor. Good service. Pricier than it should be though.
Best hamburgers in NYC, Music is Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennet,Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, vintage big band singers. The best!
Solid breakfast/brunch option in the far UES near Gracie Mansion. Huge menu, quality ingredients. Wait can be long, but they’re good at turning over tables fairly quickly.
A Yorkville staple. Ive been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Food is great and theres lots of variety. The service is always excellent too. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a delicious classic NY diner meal and experience
Loved this place
Great diner, Top Chef, with some nice extras! Excellent cheeseburgers, large and juicy! Great omelets. Nice menu with some creative twists. Probably due to the excellent Chef managing the kitchen. Attentive staff and servers. Worth the trip to the Upper East Side!
I just moved into the neighborhood, and this diner is across the street from me. Lovely neighborhood spot, friendly staff, and good food. A nice spot 👍
Good comfort food. Service was excellent. Im only particular about my orange juice. Not a fan of pulp. Otherwise love the atmosphere.
Nice and simple for breakfast. Little pricey.
The service here is so impressive. Every staff here is so friendly and it seems a very happy place they work in.
This is the most reasonably priced, best tasting food in New York. Don’t eat literally anywhere else. I once dropped my ID down the seat and was shocked at how clean it was under the booth. Delivery is super fast and always under half an hour and the owner is a top notch guy. He even makes sure the whole neighborhood is decorated for every holiday - including The Fourth of July by putting out wonderful American flags, no matter who the president is...the flags are there every year! In short, Mansion is a wonderful place to eat and I hope it’s here for another 75 years and more!
Great for great staff
Quick service, huge variety of food, high quality food (better than the average dinner). This place has been up for 80 years for a reason. Highly recommended for anyone not looking for a romantic date.Prices a little bit on the high side at between 10$ and 25$ for most lunch/diner mains. Beer & wine have reasonable prices.
Go here pretty often, and the food is always great. Their staff is kind, and very quick and efficient. I highly suggest you going here.
Friendly great outdoor seating. Super cappuccino.
The food was just delicious what more can I say. After speaking with the workers here they told me this location is so popular that in the winter time the line is around the corner . I had a chicken wrap and it was awesome fresh and tasty . My buddy had a tuna wrap that was also good. My other buddy had the deluxe burger and loved it . I would come back
Neighborhood go to. Great food at UES prices ...but worth it. outdoor seating in summer. Always busy. Always delivering
Salmon burger was good, salad was crisp and clean.
The food and service was excellent. The waiter was very attentive and the host was pleasant as well
Excellent service. Everyone was extremely nice and fast. The breakfast was great.
A great diner, but a bit overpriced. Youre paying for history and vibe - less so food (even though food is solidly good). Fun photos of old NYC on the walls.
I eat here all the time and I want to preface this by saying the food for a diner is very good. Their soup is good, breakfast, burgers, etc. Despite the reviews I’ve called the restaurant with problems before and the staff is very pleasant and willing to help. Takeout orders are prepared well and they don’t skimp with napkins or stuff like that. Having said all that the only reason why I didn’t give them five stars is because this is hands-down the most expensive diner I’ve ever eaten at. A pint of soup, a burger, and an omelette will run you 50 bucks. No lie, its priced like a SOHO lounge. Food is good here it will cost you though
Service was great and food was good, but prices were a bit high and the atmosphere is weirdly at odds with the food. It looks like a classic American diner, while the food is of much higher quality. If you want a wide variety of well-prepared, good food and dont really care about price (or the oddly out-of-date decor), then this is your place.
Yes its very nice, BUT the prices are beyond expensive. It cost me $7.50 for one cup of coffee and a toasted English Muffin. Sorry, not my cup of tea!
Corned beef hash as a side is $10. Otherwise ok
Fantastic Diner. Great delivery service or dine in. My boy LOVES the pancake deluxe(with bacon/sausage/ ham/eggs any style., Vanilla egg cream.good coffee..And my pal Loves the whole chicken dinner. Just the best in Yorkville area.
My favorite dinner near me. Wish it was open 24hours, but does stay open late like 1am I think. Good breakfast and sandwiches and desserts. Good coffee. I havent had an entree but the have a big menu.
