My husband and I went here for a late dinner. I got the roast beef special and it was just okay. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were from instant. The corn was bland - cooked with no salt. The salad could have been great but the dressing was too vinegary. My husband did enjoy his pancakes so I guess that counts.

I did not like this diner. I had lunch here: Goulash with Noodles and Salad for $23. The food was good but nothing special and the serving very small, considered the price. Also, they charged me $6 for two small club sodas. That felt kind of like a rip off. There are so many other diners in this area. Next time, i will go somewhere else again.

The Park Cafe is located at The Wellington Hotel on 7th Avenue. Great location. Serves breakfast; lunch; dinner... and everything else inbetween - tea; coffee; juices and shakes; cakes; pastries and deserts. Good food and service and good value for money by NYC standards. Extensive menu with plenty of choice.....definitely worth paying a visit.

This is literally the worst place Ive ever eaten at in my entire life: Food (if you can even call if food) is cold and tasteless, canned vegetables (Im not kidding, see pics), they spent 5 minutes to cook my steak. Left my food almost untouched because couldnt eat it. My wife and I are lucky that we barely touched the food, because after coming home my wife vomited. I cant believe that place is located in NY City! ... (But those canned vegetables just cracked me up!)

I judge family restaurants by how good their breakfasts are and this one exceeded my expectations. It was a great add on to the Wellington Hotel package and well worth it. I always ask for my eggs over medium, and expect them to arrive with no uncooked whites and very runny yolks, and that is exactly how they came. The food was fast and very hot every time. We had breakfast at night on the days we didnt feel like a big breakfast in the morning. We also had their gyro plate and it was very good. If there werent so many restaurants to try, I would have just eaten there every day! By NY standards its a great deal $$ wise too. Tons of food. If you are a small eater you could easily split any plate. We were starving all the time though! :) Great, friendly service. Really really fast!

Food was simply okay. Had a bacon cheeseburger and a strawberry shake. The shake was actually pretty good and flavourful. The burger was mediocre, not the best, not the worst. The fries that came with it were large and not very crispy, and the onion rings were breaded and tasted simply of the breading rather than onion.Service was friendly, and fast. A bit too fast, as my partner stated her turkey burger tasted microwaved. If you have the time, is worth queueing elsewhere.

I was served the most delicious leg of lamb dinner yesterday. I wish I could have finished it all. Delicious rolls. I cant wait to have it again. I loved the hint of cinnamon, and the gravy was fine. My only cavil would be, why are the baked potatoes wrapped in foil (like everywhere else)? If theyre baked without foil, then the skin gets nice and crispy and delicious, and the interior is flaky. Perhaps you could wrap them after baking? Ive always enjoyed eating here. And the prices were not too high, the portions very generous. The dinner could have easily served two people.

The menu is excellent but not superior. Thats okay to be excellent. In high school it was a dream grade. Breakfast was a bit sub-par for my sweetheart ONE TIME the morning after Neil Diamond performed for the last time at the Garden. The eggs and potatoes were dry to her compared to my cooking. She wasnt very happy, but would not let me send it back to the kitchen to correct the problem. You cannot complain if you will not let someone make it right. I do spoil her or try to if I want to live another day. I can eat anything if starving by adding hot sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper then inhale quickly. Drop the fork, done. No problemo. Ever heard of the show Iron Chef? I am Iron Diner. You know, you get what you pay for. This is not the Rainbow Room nor the Plaza Hotel. No fifty dollar brunches. I dont mind if their food preparation isnt perfect because the staff can get very, very busy. No heavy waitresses here because they are forever in motion. This is comfort food and fine for me.The Cafe and I go back twenty seven years, just before my divorce. Can you imagine that? New York is constantly changing but the old Wellington, its restaurant and I carry onward. Now I have a new Sweetheart and new memories when we eat here.

I went around 10a and was seated almost immediately. i had the corned beef hash omelette with toasted white bread and home fries. The omelette...was quite literally corned beef hash fried with egg. No frills. While it was still good, i may have been expecting a little too much. The home fries were ok as well. Could have used a bit more flavor or crunch, but with some salt and pepper they were good. I cleaned my plate.Overall, seems like a decent convenient place to grab breakfast.

Find another place to eat. Had breakfast there and coffee was undrinkable. Looked like mud after cream was added. Sent it back and was told they have the best coffee in NYC and no one complains. Ordered a spinach omelette and it was bland and as flat as the plate. No taste. No seasoning. They started clearing off our table while we were still eating. And then the waitress had the gall to take her own tip out of our change instead of returning all our change to us and then letting us decide how much tip to give her, she pocketed 20% without even asking.Go directly across the street to the little coffee shop between Starbucks and the Park Central Hotel and have breakfast. It’s fantastic.

The food was decent but not worth the trouble of having staff walk away from you with attitude for asking a question (it was almost completely empty when we went). I had dinner sitting at the bar - the gyros plate. The food itself was pretty good, and I guess - given its very central location - reasonably priced at ~ $18. The atmosphere seems quintessentially New York, like an urban diner. The waiters weren’t that friendly. They weren’t rude, but I guess a bit rough. Despite the gyros’ price, prices were really quite high. Simple pastas for >$20; for that reason, 3 instead of 4 stars. Quite some quite a bit fancier places charge less for a simple spaghetti. I guess they’re preying on the tourists frequenting nearby Times Square and Broadway. On the way out, though, personnel was very courteous. I had indeed walked out without a coat or anything thick in cold weather, and they made sure to ask me if I wasn’t forgetting my coat.

There were 3 in our party. We were seated at a tiny table. Restaurant was not crowded. My mother in law ordered lamb, which included baked potato and mixed vegetables. My wife ordered the same. I ordered the hot Turkey open face with mashed potato and mixed vegetables. Each entree was on a separate plate from the side dishes, so the table was completely filled and was very uncomfortable for us. Had everything been put together, dining would have been more comfortable. Also, they were slow to take away our empty plates...this continued our discomfort. My wife could not eat her salad due to the horrible tasting vinaigrette. I specifically ordered the hot Turkey open face but was given cold Turkey. We are tourists and enjoyed our visit to the city but this restaurant was not a highlight. Also, for those who might enjoy draft beer....this cafe only has bottled. The only plus for us is that when beer was ordered, it was brought immediately. The flavor of the lamb was good, but the baked potato was not.
