Food was decent. A good spot to grab a quite bite with retro looks. They have a great 60s diner vibe. A tourist classic.

If you are looking for a charming, NY diner, this is the one. We had the best breakfast here consisting of pancakes and an omelet. They also have beautiful fresh pastries and pies.The service was delightful and food portions generous.

The chicken and waffles was huge! There were four big pieces of fried chicken on the waffle; breast, wing, leg and thigh. Its about a block from the Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station so its a good place to go if you want something by the station.

Went in to order a take-out to have while waiting for an Amtrak train. The staff were very nice and efficient, and put my order together quickly during a moderately busy lunchtime. Pastrami reuban, corned beef on a roll, and a salad with chicken- everything was delicious. No frills (it was take-out), very good food. Got some dessert items, which were also great! Thank you!!

Keepin it real out here on 9th Ave MidtownThis is my third time eating at this diner, got to sit out the outdoor height of pandemic area as well as different spots indoor, my favorites got to be right under the skylight. The inside is very charming, staff were sweet but quality of the food can improve just slightly. Still like the place though, will go back when I crave diner food.

Once we walked into the diner, you sign a waiver and your temperature is take. Our waiter, Raphael, or Raffi as I called him, was wonderful. I love this diner and was very happy that they are open and very cautious, as they practice social distancing inside with spacing the table seating, so you felt safe there. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced. Ive been out of NYC for 8 months, so it was awesome to go back to one of my favorite places.

The guy who took my order was very polite and was sure to ask me if I needed any extra condiments. The coffee wasnt too good and neither was the pound cake. I ordered pancakes with turkey bacon, the pancakes were big but I didnt like that my bacon was in the same container. I ordered, turkey sausage egg and cheese on toast and that was pretty good as well. Overall, the meal was good and I took it to go.

A great little diner! Had pancakes and sausage (even though it was lunch time) that I really enjoyed, although no one at the table enjoyed the chicken tenders. The fries are huge and really good, though!

Party of 3, our first time dining here 8:30AM Monday. The staff were all courteous, professional, and prompt. The establishment followed all COVID protocols including, temperature check, hand sanitizer, staff masks, socially distanced guests/tables. The service was swift, efficient while still being polite and friendly. Staff came by often to refill our coffee. The food was good too, nice breakfast/brunch fare. Overall, very positive experience, Id highly recommend dining here if youre craving diner food in the Midtown Manhattan area :)

Amazing Late Night service and Food . We arrived at Manhattan tonight and walked around for a while looking for a restaurant to eat at everything is closing at 11pm and they were full to capacity so we walked around and found this Gem so happy I found it and had our late night dinner here. Will be returning to this spot every time we come to New York.

Perfect place to enjoy food + friends. Menu is so varied, you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was delicious and fresh and our waitress, Vickie, was wonderful. She was so welcoming and friendly. And, had the greatest personality. We will definitely return and ask for Vickie to be our server.

The staff was nice, we were promptly seated, and it seemed to follow all covid protocols this is why they get the 2nd star. Unfortunately the food was just not good. The omlette was just scrambled eggs with cheese in between and the home fries, picture attached, were really just a smashed potatoe and absolutely disgusting.

The Skylight Diner has been a staple for my family for 13 years. The best food ever, the best service ever. There has never been a time were we were disappointed with our meals or the service. If you are a native New Yorker or visiting our great city, you must check out the Skylight Diner.

The Chipotle grilled chicken wrap is amazing and tasty. We did two meals with one wrap, well stuffed. The time between ordering and taking away is very short. The personnel offers a warm welcoming and respects our demands (whole wheat wrap or without this or that)Go there and you wont be disappointed.Thank you guys, you lighted up two of our dinner time during our stay in NYC. Ive eaten here before. The hamburgers are very good, but this time I ate an excellent fried fish filet. The fish was not oily and the fries were good. The price was comparable to other diners. The diner is clean and well staffed. Its a good place for an informal meal.

We had a tight schedule due to taking an early Amtrak, and staff were happy to accommodate. My beyond burger was super filling and tasty, as were the fries. Overall, Im happy we had a clean, friendly, accommodating, and tasty place to eat at at 6am!

Nice Diner. I ordered a hamburger Well done and nearly choked on it because it was so dry. The barbecue sauce was well....TERRIBLE! the fries were good and the atmosphere was cool. I should have ordered breakfast because it seemed to be excellent.

The customer service is excellent but the food i got was just ok- standard diner food.. The dessert cooler looked like where its at here.

So grateful for this diner. I got to NY at 5am on bus after long hours and had to wait for another bus that did not leave until 9:30am.It was so cold and I couldn’t find a place where to able to get away from the cold, eat and wait for the bus. The guys at the diner took me and my service animal and my bf in and made us feel like home . Our first time in NY and the first please we visit and our experience was very comforting.Quiet environment, great food, excellent customer service5 stars !

There is so much to choose from, like other typical diners. We had the chicken and portables mushroom wrap. Very filling and good! Pizza burger was not bad too. The service was nice and friendly! Open late is a plus!

Very clean, delightful staff! I asked for something off the menu, it was no problem. There are wonderful black and white photos of NYC landmarks hanging on the walls. I had my lunch in the back area, where there are 2 skylights, making it nice and bright. Everyone is socially distanced, servers wear masks and all the rules are followed.

I was impressed with the taste of the food and also the process were fair. When Im in NYC I will go back again.

An old school Greek diner in Midtown Manhattan not too far from the Port Authority. It is open 24 hours it has everything you would expect in a diner. Food was good, portion size was adequate and the price was right. They also have great desserts!

Dont expect much, disappointing NYC diner experience. Food was bland, but portions were large and they were at least open late on a rainy Sunday night. If youre looking for a true New York diner experience with tasty food, youd be best to look elsewhere.

Something decent to eat in nyc. They let you sit and uncover your face. The staff is helpful and courteous. I had a Ruben and was not disappointed. My partner had a pasta she wasnt too excited about but other than that, I was glad we stopped in. Next time Id like to try some of their desserts. He desserts looked tasty.

Ive always been a fan of this place. Steady, reliable, super-efficient, and friendly. Food is just fine, sometimes great. Generous portions, reasonable prices. Roomy, open, and light (skylights). If youre going to Javits Center, B&H, or any attraction west of Madison Sq Garden, this is the place to go . In fact, if youre spending the day around Macys Harold Square area, its worth the walk over here to get out of the crush, have a solid meal, and find something to please everyone

The have a great selection of good food. We enjoy our burgers and sandwiches. It wasnt crowded.

If you are looking for something to eat with cheap prices this it the place. Whatever you want for few dollars. The waffle at the end of the meal is a must and it’s possible to share with your partners. The staff is great. And the portions are big.

Me and partner went into the dinner, gave our order. 30 minutes later we hear our order given to be made after waiting 30 minutes. We got up and left, not a word given. I hate to flip this card but as the only two minority in the dinner. Also have a decent amount of people come in after us and get their food, I wounder if it had to do with race. Under the circumstances, I wouldnt trust them with my food. I could be wrong but the way things are today, the thought run through my mind. Never will go back and dont recommend.

Not very busy at 10am. Restaurant fairly clean for a hole in the wall diner. Food was decent. Coffee was brought out in a lipstick covered cup. The waiter was friendly and apologetic about the dirty cup, but we didnt want any more of the mediocre coffee anyway.

Great Diner! One of my favorite diners in NYC. The food is consistently great. The staff is always very nice and attentive. Anything on the menu all the time, I like that alot! Great location on 34th Avenue near 9th Street. Go here and see why this diner is one of my favorites!

The food was expensive and some of the meals were a good value and others less so. My pastrami Reuben had 3 slices of pastrami and tons of sauerkraut. The made it look bulky but skimped on the important pieces and the bread wasnt toasted.They messed up one of the orders for one of the kids in my party and it took 20 minutes to get the right thing, so we were almost done when her food arrived.The server was overwhelmed and was rude when we told him about the problem. And the temperature inside was very warm and uncomfortable.All in all, I wont be returning here in the future.

The Skylight Diner is a great place to come for just about any meal or snack. The food has been great and decently plentiful. The other benefit is to be able to eat and then head to take your Amtrak train just a couple blocks away with a full belly. The breakfasts are great and the sausages are the large fat ones and not the small ones you may find in other places. The Burgers are great and this is one of the few places that services a Meatloaf plate like I remember having back in the 70s.
