Classic diner with one of the best burgers in the city. Just juicy, well cooked with a great sear. Right on that border of staying together and falling apart but never passed completely into falling apart. On top of all that? Incredibly affordable.

Great neighborhood greasy-spoon. My waiter listened very careful and my food was prepared just as I asked. The portions are generous, but not overwhelming and the prices are reasonable. RECOMMENDED ! ! !

I went today to buy a tosted bagel with extra butter lol and a regular coffee and as soon as I walked-in the whole staff (No kidding) said Good Morning, honestly you dont get that in some places in NYC! The cooker checked my bagel few times of time to make sure that it was well toasted and the guy who make my coffee follow my instructions ( Black Coffee with milk, not to dark not light and no sugar) he told to check my coffee to see is that was the way I wanted and yes it was. Delicious, well-priced classic diner food: we had bacon & eggs, pancakes, and pastrami omelette. The service was super friendly and fast, even though they were really busy. Cant wait to go back.

This place is just fabulous. The food is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is very cozy old school New York.We had the burgers, a milkshake, an egg cream, and a stack of chocolate chip pancakes. It was all excellent - the burgers in particular were exceptional!The staff were attentive and just lovely. Really nice people. Highly recommend!

A Gramercy Park / Union Square staple for at least 40 years. The best hamburger in Manhattan, bar none. And their breakfast menu is the bomb, like Moms home cooking. There may be more fashionable places to dine, but you wont find better food. Family friendly and with staff that have worked there for decades.

Maybe I had a stupendous craving for a burger and fries because of the lockdown, and Joe Junior ticked the boxes perfectly. Even if not, the burger (medium rare please!) was incredibly juicy, beefy, and the fat did not overwhelm. A plain cheeseburger is almost perfect, perhaps only needing a dash of salt, the toasted sesame delightfully popping in your mouth with every bite. The fries are a triumph and are crunchy but soft on the inside, even after sitting inside a takeout container. And did I mention the price? A must go!

As soon as I entered Juniors, I knew immediately that I was in for a memorable experience. When I saw the bond between the employees and how happy they were to be working there, I knew that their food will differ from other diners. I got a cozy, family vibe when I was there and It was very comfortable. Their food was really tasty, especially their cheeseburger. The way the burger was cooked is not well done, but more medium, so it was very juicy and tender. However I think you can request a well done burger. Also, the pancakes here was the best Ive ever tasted. The prices here are very decent, It will cost you about $10-$15 depending on what you get.I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did!

Honestly food was great and I’ll probably go back to get tasty cheap eats. But the service… we didn’t get any glasses of water until we had already finished our meals. And we sat outdoors on a hot day. Probably asked for just a glass of water 4 times and didn’t receive until right before we paid and left. We waited a really long time to order and to get the waiter’s attention at all but the food itself came out remarkably fast. Seems like only one waiter was working for the whole restaurant so I feel badly but I just find it hard to enjoy a meal without any drink on a hot day.

The burgers here are very good. Very juicy and tasteful. I had the bacon cheese burger and it’s solid. The fries were not all that. I didn’t even finish mine. Kind of disappointed in that. But everyone loved the burgers hands down. The milkshakes were amazing! Tried vanilla strawberry and chocolate and they were all great! I think the strawberry was the best!

Top tier, the sausages are especially great, all the breakfast food is solid, and the burgers and fries are always worth it. You see old timers there a lot because theyve eaten everywhere in the neighborhood and they know whats best.

Stumbled on this place because I needed to use the bathroom & I ordered a coffee as a courtesy. When I grabbed my coffee, I noticed the fries of the guy sitting next to me; they looked amazing so I ordered. Fabulous fries - hot & very crispy, just like I like them. The lady sitting next to me enjoyed a lovely tuna-on-toast sandwich; she said it was wonderful and she usually ordered it. She also mentioned they have the best burgers & that when she lived in the neighborhood this was her neighborhood joint. Food is VERY inexpensive ($5.56 for fries & coffee)!! I’m definitely coming back.

Come here for a super basic beefy juicy medium cheese burger. Reasonably priced at $6 for the burger only or go for a deluxe which includes veggies and fries. The staff here are warm and friendly. Truly an American diner experience.

Joe Juniors is a classic diner and they happen to have a tasty burger. Theyre a neighborhood institution so go support a local biz. They have outdoor dining as well as indoor up to 35 percent of normal capacity.

Although I generally avoid burgers at diners, they have arguably the best burger Ive had thus far in my 30 years in NYC. Additionally, always ask for it no plancha.

Great diner food at a decent price

Price isnt to bad. It was busy at lunch but no problem getting a seat. I would definitely go back if in New York again. We arrived tired and hungry but left having had a good meal.

I can not argue when it comes burgers, this really is the best burger I have ever had. Simple cooked medium with cheese and bacon. If you need something that will put a smile on your face this is the place to go. No gimmicks just a true original, a classic you can not go wrong with. If you are in New York City, whether visiting or living this is a must eat spot.

Great greasey spoon, friendly staff and clearly had a number of locals dropping past. We did a breakfast diner every day on our 5 day NY trip and these was one of my favourites and was also one of the most reasonably priced.

I visited here on my first morning in NYC as I stayed nearby. I enjoyed the food so much I ended up going back about 4 times in my 2 week trip. The breakfasts are delicious, coffee is on refill and a great experience overall

Tried the burger here and enjoyed the flavor. A thin, juicy patty that somehow manages to nail the patty-to-bun ratio is impressive. However, the fries were not, and the lettuce and tomato werent fresh. I would recommend avoiding the deluxe option, which renders this a great deal.

Have to say that I haven’t had an omelette this good in years. Joe Juniors Swiss and Ham omelette is a rich, cheesy experience. Being gluten intolerant I don’t have a lot of breakfast options but this has returned the joy of Saturday breakfast in bed. Thanks Joe!

An awesome place and an authentic american diner. Veggie Burger was tasty and big, the sandwich with American cheese was served super fast. Free refill of Sodas and the pancakes with syrup are just exactly as you want them to be!

Im always looking for places that are a little more whole in the wall to meet up with friends. We had a fun breakfast here, but the rush made it difficult. Loved the ambiance, the super large menu, and the pancakes *yum*. Service was really tough because it was so busy. Def want to come back for a weekday meal, and to try the burgers!

Very old school coffee shop/diner with exactly the food you would expect for a great price. Chocolate chip pancakes and omelettes are fantastic for breakfast and their burger and fries are as close to prefect as it gets. Not trendy, just the basics that never disappoint. The decor has not changed in 30 years and the staff are no nonsense but very nice.

Finally made it to this charming eatery. Terrific experience. Just the basics done right. I did the cheeseburger, fresh meat, cooked to order a few feet away on the grill. Fabulous. The staff, warm, attentive and obviously popular with the neighborhood residents. I sat at the counter for the full experience. The vintage diner-like setting is clean and well maintained. I cant wait to return with friends to enjoy a relaxed meal in a great neighborhood.

Pre-COVID it was sometimes tough to get a table in the small dining room at peak hours (10-12:30 Saturday and Sunday) but frequently worth the wait when youre craving some classic Americana. Highlights for us are pancakes and burgers, and its typically the same guys working which certainly helps the neighborhood feel!

I came across this place by chance without realising the legend and folklore behind it. It is truly deservèd of legendary statusThe decor is beautiful with a wooden bar and memorabilia on the wall. The cash register could easily be an antique but it does not feel contrived.The burger is pure beef, a thick patty and burst with juice. Just meat, bun and cheese more or less and is an exercise in restraint and class.After enjoying this burger I returned several times to eat staples like egg and cheese or some potatoes just to enjoy the atmosphere of what I, as an outsider, feel is part of a dying breed of an establishment.

Joe Jr. is the perfect place for people on a budget to grab a quick and tasty bite to eat. The food is good, and comes out really quick. I got the breakfast special of 2 scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon and rye toast, and each was good. All of the food was good, but it wasn’t anything incredible. However, given the prices, it’s an amazing deal. I also got a vanilla milkshake that was fine, but I don’t think I’d order it again. I do want to go back and try the cheeseburgers, because they looked pretty good.

Ive been eating at Joes Junior since the 80s. The Staff was there is the 80s is there now. We always recognize each other. Their food is always good😋👍🏿. The atmosphere friendly. A truly a neighbor and stranger welcome diner💜

Joe Jr. is awesome! Went for the first time for breakfast and was blown away. Also, expect this place to be packed for breakfast. While we had to wait for a table, it was totally worth it. I had the banana pancakes and they were perfect. Extremely fast service, we were in and out in 30 minutes!
