Excellent. This diner is a little pricier than less nicer looking diners you can find within a few blocks radius. Although they serve diner food, it doesnt have the dinginess of traditional diners. There are no drop ceilings, no harsh lighting, servers outfits all look crisp. Its very nice, especially for a diner. The servings are large. I recommend splitting things or saving things for later.
By far the best dining experience weve ever had. The food was amazing! We were warmly welcomed and Ellio was an awesome server; very kind and professional. We ordered the veggie burger and the Pepperoni chicken parmigiana. They even gave us some brownies to take home! Definitely recommend this place. Its also very clean and well definitely be visiting again. 😊
Very good food & service. Good portions at reasonable prices. Good Restaurant Week menu...came back twice so far for it! She had the Pollo Cubano & I had Teriyaki Salmon...both very good. Dessert was included for $21pp...she had Rugelach & I had cheesecake...also very good. Btw, their pastrami is also very delicious!
While the food and the atmosphere were really good, it wasnt quite worth the premium placed on the prices because of its location. I had Tony Bennetts Cinnamon Raisin Pecan French Toast and it was honestly to die for and I would get it again at $22, but that doesnt mean it hurt a bit too. Service was good, the outdoor seating experience was lovely, and the wait was non-existent on a Saturday morning around 8:30. Again, all good things, just think its a little overpriced.
Eggs Benedict was awesome! I had the bacon and my wife the crab cake, both great. Loved the iced coffee. They brought real cream to the table, and had Truvia. Prices were very reasonable too.
A nice diner close to Central Park. The food was good (I had bacon and scrambled eggs), but it was expensive. Cheaper diners can be found a block further away from the Park. The neatest thing was that a famous comedian had breakfast here on the day we were here; we respected his privacy, but it was tough.
Brought me a tasteless burger when I ordered a chicken sandwich (ate it anyway because we didn’t have time to wait), asked three times for another table setting (we were missing one) and never got it, got a water jug but no water cups, and just generally incompetent service. Too many other great restaurants. Leave this one for the single visit tourists.
The looks of this restaurant would make you assume youre in for a treat. That couldnt be more wrong. The menu is lacking in variety and has no non-pork options. The waiter couldnt properly tell me what the dish contained leaving a unwanted option on our table (described as a corn/cheese dish but ended up being cornbread). Our food came out relatively quickly but somehow still cold. Due to their lacking menu we settled for pancakes which were bland. Their nutella whipped cream waffles looked good but somehow lacked flavor. Chain breakfast places blow their food out of the water. Their famous hot chocolate is undrinkable at best. Prices are way too high even for NY standards especially for the simplicity of their food. We didnt finish a 1/4 of our food, save your time and money and simply go elsewhere. We left feeling very disappointed and hungry.
We had a really nice experience here. Our waiter, Carlos, was attentive, polite, funny and fast. He was exceptional. The food was terrific too. It was delivered to our table in less than 10 minutes.Good burger, pastrami sandwich, and pot pie. The 15 bite hot dog was incredible! We had two amazing deserts; the coconut cake and the strawberry cheesecake. Both were exceptional. One small criticism - As a city dweller, Ive come to expect fresh-cut fries from a place with this level of food and that was the one area where they fell short. Thats really nit-picky, huh?We went there before visiting Carnegie Hall. It was less than a block away so very convenient. I highly recommend a visit to both places!
The food was good, but I was charged for someone elses meal in addition to mine..My charge was only $26.. a second charge was put thru for $56 also. Contacted diner and basically didnt get any satisfaction other than well if your credit card company calls, we can let them know...pay cash if dining here...
Awesome food friendly staff and great environment! Outside eating a plus!!
Amazing service and great ambiance but the food is not dignified of the high end stamp.
Really amazing service! The chicken burger was so good! Love the patio seating
Food was good. Service, not so much. Very slow. But the manager was very sympathetic. He comped us.
Our first time here and we really enjoyed it. The burgers were so juicy and tasty and cooked exactly the way we ordered them. Service was great and the food arrived quickly. Very cool old fashioned diner and feel to it. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean and I loved the mouthwash station that Ive never seen before.
The service here is amazing and so kind. The food on the other hand... Is just as good! I totally recommend coming here for a quick bite.
Food was fresh but bring your Vax proof. Somehow I am not sure they ask everyone. I hope they dont base it on looks. Just saying
Highly recommend. I had breakfast here 3 days in a row on a recent trip to NYC. Huevos Rancheros, Eggs Benedict and basic eggs and bacon were all excellent. Delicious fried polenta is served on the side. Rasperry rugelach was really yummy. Interior is lovely and very clean. And wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Great food. Couldnt believe the Nutella and banana waffle. Outrageous. Grandkids polished that off. Stopped in for a late dinner. Had an excellent burger. Girlfriend had a bowl of matzo ball soup. Also outstanding.
Been here twice, first time in the pandemic and another just this weekend. Hardly a few souls in the place or outside. Greeted nicely, then we were left there to die in the booth without anyone checking on us. Not even to fill our waters to start with. Both times we had to just get up and leave because of customer neglect. Sorry folks, service goes along way these days. You need to depend on good food and service to make it. You just don’t have the masses of clueless tourists to count on. Sorry but we won’t give you another chance. Lots of other options with better care.
Great service. Great staff. Tight spacing but you wont feel it. Very cozy, well designed space to give the feeling of spaciousness and great ambience. Ordered a variety of entrees and all good. Pastas are well cooked, served right. You will not be disappointed. Compliments to the kitchen staff and wait staff
FIVE STAR SERVICE. Went the Brooklyn Diner this past weekend with my family in town and had a wonderful time. We were served by Victor, whos the kind of server who must really love what he does - friendly, attentive, and quick. The owner, Yousef, is also a class act. He treated us to a complimentary dessert because our shared love for a famous futbol player. The food was delicious and portions reasonably sized. The location is pretty prime (right near Carnegie Hall), so plan to spend a couple of extra bucks on your food than you would at a more quaint diner.
Overall negative experience and I will not be going back.Food was below-par. The pastrami was not nice, having large amounts of inedible fat on each piece and a bit tough. The burger came rare, unadvertised, and we werent asked in what way we would like it anyways.Bad experience with waitstaff. The fries were quite tasty, and the front staff at the entrance were nice.
Very solid diner choice. Surprisingly my first time. Did the split pea and grilled cheese with bacon on wheat this time, very good, and will definitely come back for more. The fries were great too. Liked the small counter space, will be nice to try their burgers and put a key diner item to the test... next time.
Real American diner with amazing atmosphere and cool decorations inside!)) staff is very friendly! But food is okay. It’s not the best American kitchen I’ve tried to. However, portions are huge and the price is not so expensive. Its a common price for NYC. So, probably you should go there just for a great experience and that filings like you’re at the movie shooting set) pay attention under the windows. There are a lot of famous names)))
Great ambiance and service. The crispy polenta bites were a nice addition to the plate. Aptly named “the fine diner”
Waiter extremely rude when notified that the price on the bill was wrong. Was told its only a few dollars.
A welcoming diner in the style of an old stainless-steel prefab, serving ampleportions of comfort food. The standout dishes include the matzoh ball soup, festooned with dill; the chicken pot pie; and the burger. The massive hot dog is pretty good, and itself might feed two.For dessert, the coconut cake is a treat. The tables are snug, yet with the massive plates can quickly become covered with food.
Great service. Great food.Sorry friendly staff. A little on the pricier side but worth it.
Great service and delicious comforting food!Could be a but pricy in student perspective but you should try it if youre around the place!I got the pot pie and I would definitely recommend the dish. This place has great burgers as well. There is a good amount of the dessert selection and I got the Strawberry Cheesecake and my family was satisfied!
Outside with great weather. Excellent food and portions. Good service. French toasts a must to have.
Nice place for a quick bite, friendly staff, good food,
Was that in NYC for the weekend, and was staying nearby. Went here for breakfast both mornings: great food and service. Nice outdoor seating & atmosphere, and definitely worth a visit.
I got the Buffalo Chicken Burger with no lettuce and i demolished it and i’m a very slow eater and i don’t normally finish my food but this sandwich is amazing if you like spicy food. It’s a buffalo sandwich but it’s not very buffalo it’s more just spicy. Best diner by far!
Best matzahs ball soup I ever had
Decent comfort food menu but memorable service.
Great food, very good customer service, super busy, and worth the visit happy dining....
Dined outside. Nice place. Enjoyed my lunch.
Enjoyed it so much on our family vacation a couple of years ago that I took a friend here on a guys getaway last year. VERY generous portions- foot long hot dogs, deep dish chicken pot pie etc. Staff is super busy but efficient. Food arrived hot and fresh- kitchen is so busy, how could it not? Nice to experience a bit of the old-school NYC diner environment, although I understand its not as authentic as some of the few remaining ones.A great choice after youve worked up an appetite walking through Central Park, which is nearby.
Awesome food, service, and great vibe. Loved it.
A typical fake diner type restaurant in the land of real diners. Typical no big deal here. If you want a diner experience you can easily hunt for an actual authentic 1. Food is not bad but nothing to write home about either. They have a foot long hot dog for $20. But it just doesnt seem worth the money.
I was disappointed by my last visit here. I found the pastrami sandwich overpriced, not even great, and skimpy with the amount of meat provided.
Super cute. I felt like I was in a movie. Food was decent
The coffee is top notch, the atmosphere is warm and cozy, the staff is very attentive, and the food is absolutely DELICIOUS.You havent truly visited New York City UNTIL youve visited here.My rating: 10/5
Great customer service, clean, nicely decorated, delicious food 😋 (French Burger platter, and salads, are my favorite) on a beautiful area in town (across from Carnegie Hall).
We came here for dinner in a group of 4. We were early but still seated. The waiter was very friendly and all the staff seemed very happy to be there, which made a nice change. The food was really good. The chicken burger was really tasty, well cooked and filling. My wife had the fish tacos and she said they were really good. Overall a very good dinner. Worth a visit if your thinking about it.
The veggie burger was THE BEST that I have had to date! And the milkshake!!! Whooo!
Great food, lovely ambience, great service!
Excellent food and service but would have rated 5 star if we could have had a little more optionality like in the old days of the finest brisket and corned beef options. Maybe a good idea to do pastrami for 3 months corned beef for 3 months and brisket on special occasions 🌈👍🏼😊
Even thought his place is sooooo over priced, the experience was worth it!The service was exceptional and fun! The food was pretty darn good too!I had a turkey sandwich and we shared a motza ball soup which was excellent! The decor is fun and exactly what you would expect and crave from a Jewish deli/diner. Each of the booths have tags of whatever celebrity has been and sat there. I asked to have my name added, but they told me no - apparently they are very strict about the fame part.Their mustard advertisement was brilliant, but to be very honest, their mustard less than amazing. I bought some anyway as the bottle is hilarious! If you don’t mind spending extra coin on an overpriced diner, hit this place up!
We had a great family night! Amazing service and food was good! I had the waffle sandwich sooo good lol
The food was good but the portions were small for the money you spend. A basic burger with a small portion of fries is $18.95. For 5 of us our bill was $145. Wouldnt go there again.
Waffles, eggs, and bacon. Delicious! Best bacon Ive ever had.
This diner is absolutely great if you want to experience a true American diner. Me and my fiancé went there a few years back, loved it and had to visit again today. Can absolutely recommend the Thanksgiving-all-day turkey plate, and if you’re there for breakfast you have to have their delicious pancakes. They’ve got a really nice cheesecake, the Strawberry Blonde that is amazing and their vanilla milkshake is awesome. What’s also great is that you’re so close to Central Park. If you’re in New York, you’re going to want to eat something at this diner.
Great food, great environmentBeast date night spot
Fun spot for a big breakfast or dessert near our hotel. Just around the corner from Park & Wellington Hotels and a couple blocks from Central Park. Sat at the bar, which I recommend....the staff are engaging, friendly and service was quick. Got the huge chocolate chip cookie this time but next time.....Ill get the cake! Check it out....
Oh so good! My last morning in NYC, I found the best diner!
We went very early and it was quite empty. It still felt very touristy. Maybe thats why it was overpriced. Good food but just to expensive for what it was...
Great fresh squeezed oj, extremely fluffy pancakes, and amazingly friendly staff. The only cons are the size of the seats at some booths and the prices for the more basic breakfast items (bagels, scrambled eggs). My picture isnt the best because the pancakes were so fantastic I had to just dig in immediately!
Not worth the price for an American breakfast. (35.28 for what you see in the photo) Great service, super clean resturant and toilet.
