I had the chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and it was absolutely fantastic. On top of this the service was delightful and the man who served me offered me a wet paper towel when I came back in to all for napkins. It’s nice to know there’s a place that has wonderful food served by wonderful people
Extremely generous portions of ice cream with great texture and flavors. They allow sampling and the prices are quite good.3 scoops is close to a pint if not more but is still every bit enjoyable.Knowing that the profits from this shop are used to train, mentor and benefit the youth in the city makes the experience sweeter.Sprinkles are always free.I had the razzle dazzle (raspberry chocolate truffle and vanilla ice cream), dulce de leche and chocolate salted caramel. The razzle dazzle and dulce de leche were quite good.
Icecream for a cause - what could be better?
Really tasty. Like homemade. And the kids are friendly and generous with their scoops
Great Ice Cream! Wonderful staff! A great cause! Dont miss this place.
Favorite ice cream shop in downtown Manhattan! Quality + quantity for the price that can’t be beat. Great flavors, kind staff, great mission behind their profits.
WOW! Great ice-cream place!
This was the best ice cream ive ever had..staff was friendly
Great ice cream with seasonal flavors and friendly staff!!
Flavors I tried were ok. Not a go to place but would be suffice if needed a scoop on the go.
Great ice cream, super kind people, awesome store, this place is awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed this place, and I will most certainly return!
LOVE THIS PLACE. The ice cream they sell have a mission! All the employees are teenagers and they are taught in all aspects of running an ice cream business. Not to mentioned that their ice cream is actually amazing. If youre traditional, try their cookies and cream, and ginger if youre adventurous.
My boyfriend loves ice cream and tries ice cream everywhere. I, on the other hand, am easily overwhelmed by the overall sweetness. This spot hit it out of the park for the both of us. The icecream is perfectly crafted with a topping selection to love. Better than van leuween and big gay icecream shop. The only problem? There is only one location far from where we live:(
I love the cause of this shop, plus the servings are huge and the ice cream is absolutely delicious. simple flavors done well!
The interior is brand new and really cute inside. My first impression was that the people who worked there are super sweet and helpful and really generous with their samples. There’s about 20 flavors and I ordered a green tea flavor. I am in full support of this business which is part of a non profit program but I just wish the flavors could taste better
Well, its ice cream. Most important is that you can measure your height in scoops of ice cream.
Pretty good ice cream and cheaper than the other premium places around. They support a jobs program for teens (who I believe are their staff there) which is a great thing for the neighborhood and world at large. The ice cream itself is good, nothing amazing compared to some other unique offerings within a 10m walk. Sprinkles are free though 😁
Simple but delicious ice cream with tasty cones. Took the chocolate ice cream with pretzels inside and it was yummy! The place looks very nice, but there was no music which was missing. But still - really nice place!
Super tasty
Eating ice cream sometimes could be a sin but eating ice cream for a good cause definitely makes anybody feel great! This is a non-profit organization and the girls who work here are simply amazing! We tried their autumn flavor or caramel apple pie and we actually could taste the pie crust and sugared apple inside! The smallest scoop is 4oz and only $4.I cant wait to go back and try other flavors! All for a good cause of course :)
Great flavors and good cause. Double win
I’ve been coming here for a few years now and the ice cream is as amazing as the staff. When a cup or cone isn’t enough, go big and get a quart! They always have 10 or more flavors to fulfill your craving.
Alphabet Scoop is the best MF ice cream in New York, maybe in the entire world. What?? say you, How can this random dude on the internet say its the best in the world?Ill tell you why, three simple reason:1. Its tasty AF. Its thicc, its creamy, its sweet but not too sugary. Its so full of flavor. You will never go back to any other sugar with a hint of flavor ice cream after trying Alphabet Scoop, believe me.2. Prices are ridiculously cheap, and their super friendly staff always fills it all the way to the top. Portions are literally huge, even the kids size portion.3. Theyre not just any old ice cream. Theyre a charity organization, working as part of the nearby church. The provide food for the homeless on the weekends. They employ young adolescents from the poor areas in the lower east side, kids who are at a constant risk of ending up on the street, and who are sometimes the only breadwinners for their family. They give them a place to work and stay out of trouble, a salary, and a fun, not to mention sweet, environment to provide them with positive influence. In short, theyre doing amazing work, one that all food providers should learn from.Im a frequent customer and I will keep coming back there even after I move from the east village. They havent just sold me ice cream, they have won a place in my heart.Btw Im eating a tub of Alphabet Scoop ice cream right now ;)
Good ice cream. The staff knows what theyre doing and are very pleasant. It will even be better when they have grape flavored ice cram
One of my top 2 ice cream places in Manhattan!! Prices are good, you get a great portion, staff is cheerful and so helpful, it’s just a happy establishment with some of THE most delicious ice cream in NYC. I got the coco pine (coconut/pineapple) and mango- soooooo refreshing ! My sister went with classics; cookie dough and cookies and cream- perfect! Love love love this place, go give it a try!!!
Had the green tea matcha. It was so good! The prices are really reasonable. Plus their mission to support youth in business is amazing!
Love this place. Fantastic nonprofit program supporting youth professional development with local neighborhood kids, and the ice cream is delicious! Cant go wrong.
Great ice cream and super friendly owner, my son really enjoyed it and we also thought it was very good!
Best quality ice cream on Manhattans East Side, and a job training program to help others!
Friendly staff and the ice cream is delicious

Nice ice cream.
Great service and ice cream. Pleasant staff!
Great flavor selection, very nice employees -- and all of it with a great mission that you can support 110%. Will be visiting here as often as I can.
Great place, inexpensive, homemade, and provides job training for disadvantaged people in the community
I love the taste of the ice cream they serve and the quality of the service too.
Great
Great flavors, friendly staff, and great mission!
Great ice cream! I love this place
Great ice cream, generous scoops. Try the razzle dazzle :)
Stopped by at 10pm on a Friday and the employee said the store is closed. Alphabet Scoop does not close at 11pm. The business needs to update its hours
Ok its good ok.
