Very friendly owners who are a pleasure to chat with. They offer both water based and milk based Gelato option. The mint is very refreshing and definitely worth a tasting at the least.

Great little place. Absolutely delicious! Had a wonderful conversation with the owner and tried out 5 different flavours. Yes I ate 5 scoops of gelato. The ice cream is not overly sweet and the taste is fantastic. Check it out for sure!

Velebit is an unassuming gelateria in Hell’s Kitchen that opened 4 months prior to the NYC trip. The selections had classic and interesting options. I chose a small 2 scoop of Stracciatella and Pistachio. The Stracciatella was silky and delicious—exactly what I expected from a quality gelateria. The Pistachio was a surprise. The color was tannish, so no food coloring. The flavor was rich and complex, closer to cookie dough with hints of pistachio. I’m glad I ate my gelato while walking away because I might have ordered seconds or maybe fourths.

Velebit has an average 5 stars on Google for a reason. My partner has recently gone vegan and I am vegan curious. I was skeptical that vegan gelato could be done right. Nevertheless, I was extremely, pleasantly surprised when I got a cheap quart of dark chocolate, water-based gelato. Finished it in two days. Unbelievably delicious. And the owner is so kind! Will make this a regular stop in the neighb!

Tried a croissant and it was one of the best I have had, anywhere; and Ive been looking for a good spot that could match what Ive tasted in Europe! Also agree with the other reviews: the service is friendly.

Their gelato is to die for! Beautiful, albeit small, artisan gelato shop with really nice gift items. We tried most of the amazing flavors before deciding. I went with lemon basil (YUM). My 11 yr old daughter got lemon basil & brownie cheesecake, and my 14 yr old son got pb and brownie cheesecake. Both of the last two flavors were extremely rich and decadent, and sooo good. The cheesecake has actual mascarpone in it, amazing! Good to note that they have non-dairy options, including a couple of seemingly dairy-free flavors that are actually coconut milk-based. They also have gorgeous macarons, and sell some other food and drink items, too. Do be aware theres no seating, so its grab and go. We will absolutely be back! If youve ever been to the gelato place in Chelsea Market, thats one of the places they source from. Best gelato in town...run, dont walk!
