Any time I walk around the underground marketplace, I have noticed this store to be super Busy.Any way today for the first time I decided to give a try and not surprising why it is very busy. Omg it was very delicious, homely and super sweet. Cant wait to try their other 15 flavors.I tried classic green tea and seasonal purple Yam. Both were so good but I liked purple Yam moreEach Mochi is 2:50 before tax.
16 Handles is so chic and well decorated. its so beautiful and likewalking into a dream dessert shoppe. So cute! I love the red velvet ice cream and the blue velvet cake! Kind of pricey but worth every penny!
Nicely spaced area. Enough room for everyone to have their own conversation. Clean and well lit.I visit there some month ago.
The creative flavors during the holiday season such as Christmas story or gingerbread Guinness brings out so much joy for me. I sampled some of their fancy flavors such as miso pear and persimmon. I love the various flavors and with the cold city its a nice warm shop to hang and enjoy your ice cream !
This place is incredible! A hole in the wall spot run by a lovely family that loves chatting about the story of the place, which flavors pair well together, and super patient as you sample your way through their many flavors. They use super fresh ingredients, you can even see the boxes of fruit that go into their gelato in their little kitchen/lab in the back. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Im not sure how expensive Mochi is elsewhere, but this was my first time having it and I found it very pricey. That being said, it was an absolute delight and Id say you should definitely try it at least once if youve never had it before. Fair warning - its *really* good. I had the mango and the strawberry and would recommend the mango more.
They get there milk from a local farm and you can taste it! Family friendly as its not super sugary. Quality top notch. Creative weekly flavors.
This was such a treat!!! I have been looking for mochi ice cream for weeks and happen to stubble upon this place. They had a lot of flavors. I got the red bean and green tea. My boyfriend got Thai tea and mango. Unfortunately, we waited too long to eat them. It was still delicious!!!
The ice cream was good. Mochi was a yummy, different experience, since it was our first time. The staff was courteous and helpful... GPS had us circling because its located in the underground subway at Columbus Circle. It was good.
My nephews told me about this place and Im so happy we came here!!! They have very few flavored but they have them on rotation. We were able to try and sample them. I got the melon with tajin. We also got the captain crunch mixed with Thai tea. We also got them in the charcoal cones which was surprisingly tasty. Im glad it didnt get soggy like most waffle cones.
Im always looking for new ice cream. This place been reviewed hella times, so not much to say here. Its located smack dab in the middle of the Mission, tacquerias galore. Its actually sort of out of place. But the line was still long. They have only a few flavors a day, and usually pretty funky. But in a good way. I had a mocha something, I forget. It was nice and creamy, but a tad too sweet for my taste. Good, but I still prefer Mitchell.
16 Handles definitely lives up to the hype.I first came here around 5 years ago, and it has been one of my favorite places ever since!Yes, the parking is bad. Yes, the lines can be long. This is LA people, bad parking and long lines can be expected just about everywhere we go.A wide variety of ice cream flavors is available, as well as macaron ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, and pre-packaged pints ready for purchase.16 Handles also makes great cupcakes, cakes and cookies. Just about anything to satisfy your sweet tooth. Try the BLUE VELVET cake its amazing and I can never leave without taking one to go.You wont be disappointed.
The mochi is so amazing and soft!! The flavors and the number of flavors are incredible!! However.... I had to take off a star for the price. At my local grocery store I can buy my/mo mochi ice cream that is pretty darn tasty and there’s 6 pieces for $4.99, so it’s kinda hard for me to justify spending $2.50 each on a tiny morsel that I could eat at least four of!!!! Lol
Awesome shop with a nice variety of Frozen Yogurt and now serving some Vegan flavors. The mochi ice cream is great, lots of variety over 15 - 20 flavors
This is UNDERGROUND. Where the subway station is at Turnstyle markets (59st) Mochi icecream is very authentic. Very good quality. Black sesame and coconut were amazing.
I ordered a chocolate Mochi and the owner the white lady did not advise it had coconut My husband had a bad reaction and requested for another mochi. He literally took 1 bite and spit it out. The owner said we should of told her about allergies but then she should not advertise the mochi as CHOCOLATE. I will make sure to report to corporate and make this viral
Way too expensive. Severely short on options. The spot is very, very small. Granted everything in this area is small. Space is at a premium. For me, this makes for a very cramped and uncomfortable feeling.
My (now ex) girlfriend enjoyed the ice cream.
Love this stuff, we order it for our restaurant and all the guests love it!
I came here on a Sunday around noon. They weren’t busy around then, but all of Turnstyle was pretty quiet around then. This 16 Handles has become my new go-to location. Much more conveniently placed than all other locations.Only six flavors to choose from, compared to the normal 16, but generous serving sizes that make it a better deal than the pay-by-weight locations.I got the size small froyo flavors of Oh My Pumpkin Pie and Euro Tart, Caramel Sauce, and a Black Sesame Mochi. A winning combination that hit the spot.Use and obtain credit with the 16 Handles app here just like the other locations.
Minus one star for the expensive mochi, but its so good and worth it. Really fun and different flavors! I like the location and that there are other shops and places to sit.
One of the best mochi ice creams Ive ever had
We got the Lycee Colada and Frothy Chocolate flavors. We didnt know what to expect, but they looked really cool. Weve never had mochi ice cream before, but they were so good! It was like this gooey, gummy outside with an ice cream center. The ice cream in the center seemed like pretty normal ice cream. The flavors were good, but it was just a weird experience. Its impossible to eat without getting a brain freeze because you have to chew it with your teeth, and its cold. They did a good job with the flavors, but it wasnt our favorite ice cream-eating experience.
The ice cream part was good but the outside was horrible. I did not like it at all, it was a chewy substance. Nothing like a ice cream sandwich. It wasnt worth the money spent.
Fun flavors to try and loved the mochi
Ordered a mochidoki ice-cream to go for a special moment. We realized that we didn’t get the mochi ice-cream on top and came back to the store. When we complained the manageress accused us of lying.Dreadful experience. We won’t be back.
Best mochi ice cream I’ve had in nyc. So many flavors! Go!!
Great Mochi flavors!!
I dont get the big deal about these designer ice cream cookie places. None of them have ice cream that is better than Ben & Jerrys or Haagen Dazs, and 16 Handles x Mochidoki is no exception. So. Much. Hype. Both the cookies and the ice cream are average. Line is always out the door.
It doesnt exist anymore
Huge portions, great service!
Yummy....
Ok i guess
Melty mess
A wonderful place and super clean bathrooms
