Growing up in NY and knowing what a NY Bagel is and should be, and Nova Lox, this place is a disgrace to New York! The lox was salty as belly lox and the bagel was similar to a frozen Lenders bagel. My wife had eggs that were rare when well done was requested. Our server was very attentive, but with the food issues she didnt have much to work with. When paying my check, a man came to complain that he ordered his food over a half hour before, which was surprising because the place wasnt crowded. If you are looking for a breakfast place, skip this one.

Good reliable NYC diner fare. Two convenient entrances, on 8th Ave and 34th St, for the diner is a corner building. There is a third inner entrance connecting Tick Tock Diner with The New Yorker/Windham hotel. The prices are on the cheaper side, even for a diner. The service is OK, overall. Our TEXAN OMELET (with avocado, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, onions, jalapeños & hash browns) was good, but beware of jalapeños, they can get quite spicy. Our second breakfast choice, a healthier option, SHRIMP & AVOCADO BOWL (jumbo shrimp, haas avocado, romaine, sweet corn, pepper-jack cheese, tomato, lemon vinaigrette & blue corn chips) was very decent too.Not a bad choice if staying in or visiting the area (Madison Square Garden, Macys, Penn Station, etc).

We REALLY enjoyed the food here: we had dine in breakfast there twice and dinner takeout once! The waitress the first day was amazing! It looked like she was running the place lol! She did an awesome job! The service overall was great and so was the food. The Strawberey Cream Pancakes are great, and so was the Steakburger. The Carrot Cake tasted homemade, and the Apple Pie was good as well. The Cheesecake didnt have a Graham cracker crust, so my husband wasnt really feeling it.

When I tell you this was one of the best restaurants in New York I’m not saying that to just say that ! The service was top tier the waiters always checking up on you making sure you don’t have any problems and the food man it was a bite to remember the fries were solid and they gave you a very good amount of them and there bbq sauce omg words can’t even describe it . But like I said earlier the waiters were top tier some of the most nicest people in nyc would definitely recommend.

Wasnt very crowded, food was good but the staff was quite inefficient. We had our order taken by an older gentleman, who appeared to maybe an owner, then he was busy trying to seat guests and never came back around to check on our drinks. Food was brought out by another gentleman and I had to finally flag down our waiter to ask for drink refills. Those were then forgotten about and I had to ask again. Other tables being served by other wait staff werent having issues. It just appeared that our waiter was busy trying to seat people and didnt have time to deal with our table.

We went to the Tik Tok twice. Some reviews note staff being unfriendly but I think that’s perhaps because they’re seemingly all Eastern European which can come off a little cold but isn’t intended to be. All of our servers were helpful and kind. The food was good, no complaints. Had the fish sandwich and the Club. Mimosas and a Bloody Mary. We were in and out fairly quickly. It’s a great option if you’re staying at the hotel.

I was seated by whom I assumed was a Russian waitress and she have not returned to take my order. Its been over 20 minutes. Several guests have entered diner and received service. That is just outright ridiculous. Now I am a patient person and understand shes busy. But my question is, why didnt she return, is it the color of my skin? She lost out on a great tip.Anyway, another waitress just walked over and asked if I was being helped. I gave her the order and lets see how long it takes. I really dont want food now. So I better pray over it harder than I normally do. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I VISITED THIS PLACE. 😕Oh the food appearance was as it should be, presentable and tasty.

I like it. I’ve become a regular and some of the waitresses are very friendly. I don’t like that the tip won’t go to the staff- it goes to management. So make sure you pay the tip in cash. I came here for lunch last Friday. I didnt need a reservation as the place wasnt too busy as far as I could see. The service was great. I got my food shortly after I ordered it. I really enjoyed my Vegetarian Burger. It was moist and flavorful. My Bloody Mary was also banging. The overall appearance is very neat and clean. I had been here about a year ago and the food was extremely good that left us a great impression of going back. Well... me and my wife went back (06/04/2021) and as soon as we arrive the place was pretty empty, surprisingly because it was Friday night. Ok so first of all service is really good, very attentive and courteous. We ordered the buffalo wings to start and they were great. We thought it would get better... then I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, extremely salty! Whenever I would take a bite a bunch of oil would drip through my hands I had to keep wiping my hands. Very, very bad. The only good thing was the waffle fries. My wife ordered the Steak Caesar Salad.. it was worst! Sirloin steak was dry, bland, no type of seasoning. Lettuce looked like it was bought from a deli, it was dirty and just not fresh. Croutons tasted stale. The tomato in the salad was cut in 4 giant pieces like might as well give it whole if you’re going to be lazy enough to cut it nicely. They also decided to throw in 3 cherry tomatoes which were already black and squished. It looked like they ran out and that’s why the 4 giant pieces of tomatoes. Nothing couldn’t be fix in the meal. Bad experience, never going back.

I would give negative starts if it was allowed. This was the worst experience I have had in NYC EVER and I have been here dozens of times. The night we arrived, we needed to find a place to eat by our hotel and tried this restaurant. First, the waiter was the most impolite disheveled individual, looking like a sloppy mess. He did not welcome us, took forever to come to our table, and was rude to other customers. The meal came quickly but looked like a mess. A few hours later 2 of us were terribly sick. We spent that night and the next day in the hospital for food poisoning. It took days to recover and ruined our whole trip. This place needs to pay more attention to who they are hiring and what is going on in their kitchen. I am sure if the health inspector visited this place, they would be closed down for a number of violations. Do yourself a favor and dont risk ruining your vacation by stopping here. You will regret it.

My friend recommended this place to me, so I took the opportunity to come here for breakfast when I was visiting NYC. The diner is on the ground floor of a very nice art deco building. The interior is very retro, but comfortingly familiar. The selection is enormous, but I settled on the Mexican omelette (jalapenos, peppers, avocado, cheese) with a side of hash browns, toast and coffee. Very reasonable price. Service was good and quick to refill the coffee. Loads of space (two/four seaters and space to accommodate more). Recommend - good place to calorie up before going on a nice long walk around NYC. The menu is a typical east coast diner with just about everything on the menu. I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with fries (photo included). Unfortunately the actual meal looked nothing like the menu photo and was missing ingredients. The cheesesteak was also a bit bland. I did not order a soft drink because they were $3.75 each. The meals are priced OK for NYC. Overall, not a bad place to eat and it seemed clean enough. See the photos attached.
