I recently visited this place while I was in the area. We ordered the waffles an omelet and a side of eggs. All were on point and the waiter who I think his name was Joey was really nice. The waffle was cooked to perfection and it was the perfect size. Definitely coming back when in the area.

First time to NYC. From Wisconsin, not used to Big City. Walked from 10th to World Trade Center and back. Found this little restaurant and were blown away by the welcoming atmosphere. Owner John made the experience amazing. Great food, great conversation. John cares about PEOPLE. Order the pea soup. I understand the Lentil soup is also amazing, but John has issues with Lentil soup and won’t recommend it. Ask for the story. It will make you laugh

Cant believe Ive never been to this diner. Havent ever even heard of it. At the time of this review its not the easiest to find - scaffolding covering the big sign. Visitors to NYC: consider this a safe zone for dining . . . meaning something for everyone and reliable quality.Typical varied menu. What we had was tasty and served promptly. Great selection of soups and deserts. Staff is exactly what you want in a diner: efficient and a little grumpy. (wouldnt you be, working in a diner?)The restaurant is immaculate. I mean, Ive maybe never seen a restaurant so clean and tidy. We enjoyed the visit and will definitely return

Decent enough for a diner.A bit old fashioned place with seasoned wait staff. A real NYC diner kinda feel here.Food is freshly prepared to order. This spot is frequented by locals alot.Theres table service or you can sit at the bar(typical of any diner).Nothing fancy here to write about but the food is good and comes pretty fast.Small spot so at times it can feel a bit crowded. Open 24 hours.

I visit everytime I am within a 15 minute MTA ride and want a burger! Not to be overly effusive but OMG, this place is great. Deserves more than 5 stars. The burgers are excellent. I typically get a medium-well Californian burger, which has always been full of flavor and juicy! The service is on the matter of fact side, but I am totally fine with that because it is attentive and good service. They know their regulars and treat everyone with respect. The restaurant is clean. Our meal arrived quickly. The next time I am even remotely close, I will make my way back for a burger and fries. Update - I have recently expanded beyond the burgers; the homemade chili (turkey) is excellent. Good chili heat without losing the flavor.

I used to go to this joint back in the 80s after performing in the Rocky Horror show at the 8th Street Playhouse. Last Sunday I was at a memorial service down Broadway, so I stopped into my old haunt for some comfort food.I ordered a burger cooked medium, beer-battered onion rings and a Brooklyn Lager. I got exactly what I ordered. The burger, albeit a tad bit dry, was a perfect medium and very flavorful. The onion rings were obviously homemade and were perfection. Its nice to know that some things never change.

I will never go here again. Waitress was rude, brought us the wrong food, took forever to correct her error, and then gave us the wrong check which of course was more money than our actual check. Her attitude screamed I hate this job. To top it off there only about 5 people there. If I could give it -5 stars I would.

We recently went to the Blue Man Group in NY. Right after the show we wanted to grab a bite and the folks at Blue Man said try our Cozy Soup and Burger...Boy were they right. John, the owners son greeted us as we came in out of the cold, welcomed us and made us feel right at home. This is a high end diner with great food and even better service. Lots of celebrities have frequented the place. Its a must for dining. Check it out and ask for John.

A New York institution, Cozys Soup and Burger has been here forever! The burgers are great! The soup is too. They have everything a diner has to offer too. The prices are commensurate with the rent for this neighborhood - so high prices - but the nostalgia runs very high.Great place, one of my all time favorites! Enjoy!

The experience of going to this restaurant was amazing. Everything was very clean like it was brand new. It was not to noisy. Also, there is very fast service. I think that instead of going to McDonalds you should go to this restaurant.

If youre looking for a NYC late night dining experience then Cozy is the spot. The dining area could be used as the set for a retro 50s or 60s movie. I could imagine the guys from Mad Men having lunch or dinner there with a cigarette in one hand and a stiff drink in the other. However, neither of those are sold at the diner. Still, a lot of fun and good food anytime of the day or night. Their cheeseburger is very tasty.

I had the chicken fajita and told the waiter that I didnt care for any tomatoes, guacamole, and hot peppers on my food. When I received my plate, the chicken, cooked onions, cooked green peppers, lettuce, sliced cheese, rice and beans were all mixed nicely together on the plate and the soft fajita wraps were all wrapped in tin foil HOT and ready fixed. It was a fix-it- yourself plate which I really enjoyed to the fullest.

Open 24 hours with a VERY LARGE menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner served all day and night. It is slightly pricey for a diner, with most selections starting around the $15 range and up. But they give you a pretty decent portion. The location is close to 14th street and Astor Place which has a TON of bars and hang out spots if youre looking to do some drinking and lounging. Its also on NYU campus and not far from Washington Square Park!

A NYC institution? Yes. Big burgers? Yes. Good soup? Yes. Worth the money? NO.The reality is that when I first started coming here over 20 years ago, one could make the argument that the quantity and quality of the food made it worth it. But this is still basically just a diner and theres no reason to pay almost $20 for a burger, just so they can keep paying their rent.

Food was good, prices were good for the portion size, our waiter was very friendly and good natured, and the restrooms were clean.I had to knock off two stars though for several reasons. My friend and I both ordered burgers, medium, and received them very well done (not to mention dry) and both of our buns were insanely soggy from the moment we got them. Like the bottom part of the bun totally disintegrated as soon as we picked them up. If you put burger in your name I expect the burgers to be amazing and these were just barely okay. That being said, they were loaded with toppings and cheese which was a plus. Also, the service was slow. Our waiter was great when taking our order and bringing the food, but forget about getting drink refills. That was a little irritating.Id come here again for a quick bite at a reasonable price, but I probably wouldnt order a burger again.
