Excellent Food and Service. Stopped here with a group of 8 on a chilly fall day after a NYC marathon training run over the 59th Street bridge. Staff was very accommodating. A true NYC experience.

Had the worst possible experience with this restaurant. We ordered a huge order for a Halloween Birthday dinner on the Ritz Diner website and after 30 minutes of waiting past the approximate delivery time decided to call in to get an update on our food. When we originally placed the order, the website asked us when we wanted our food (now or later - we said now), asked if delivery or pickup (we said delivery) and then asked us for our address. I typed in the address. Upon connecting with the manager of the store we were yelled at for not putting in the order as delivery, werent even allowed to talk (were repeatedly talked over), and were hung up on. We were told that the order would be canceled and it was not initially cancelled - I had to call twice to make sure it was canceled and refunded. Upon calling back, I said I did not appreciate being hung up on, talked over (never was given an opportunity to even talk), that this was my hard earned money, and explained that Im a disabled client who was a loyal paying customer to this local restaurant for a long time. The order was placed for a Halloween Birthday meal by a disabled client and this is how we were treated. I urged the manager to never treat someone like this again.

Solid Diner with better food and service than expected. Located in the shadow of Queensboro bridge. Everyone happy with soup and meals. Fish and chips excellent. Fries very good. Chicken soup wholesome and delicious. Outdoor section for those so inclined. Probably make excellent breakfast too I would imagine.Highly recommend.

Food was as good as your standard diner (great by my standards), but service wasnt attentive. I had gone through my entire meal and sat around for an extra 10 minutes without anyone coming over to at least ask if I wanted my check. Eventually, I go in and pay myself.

Fiance and i wanted to grab a last minute dinner and we loved it. Food and service is amazing. It is a classic American dinner place. He had grilled chicken with veggies chicken was 10/10 but veggies were average. I had lasagne special that came with greek salad and a small dessert all of it was amazing. We also had pancakes with Nutella and banana they were delicious. Overall we will come again! Its also really cheap for Manhattan 60$ for 2.

The Host was very friendly and personal. He has been working there for 40 years. Has a great sense of humor. The food was Delicious! Clean (very) Oh you must show proof of your Covid-19 Vaccination.

Terrible experience - $16 pasta added additional shrimp topping, charged additional $20 for the top without mentioning. Even worse, the shrimps are all expired and gone bad, other ingredients not fresh neither, stomach upset after eating the meal. They refused to admit the problem, terrible food and service is even worse. Will never go there again!

24 hour diner which is nice but the food is not good. My pancakes tasted like nothing! Not bad and not good but literally like nothing. Actually an impressive achievement. I went home and made my own pancakes after :’) My friend got some eggs and bacon which he said were dry. Bummer…. The service was fine.

Excellent service, great diner food and good value. Dont expect anything super crazy in terms of food, but do expect simple dishes done well, and loads of hot sauce available on your table. We gotta come back so I can try the rest of their 9 page menu.

The food was not good and the customer service was even worse. The waiter never listened to how i wanted my steak. Also, I asked the waited for an extra order of toast to have with my steak and eggs but for the extra toast to come out right away so I could have it well before my meal. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I got up to inquire about the toast and explained why I wanted the toast early. He ignored me and rushed everything out. When he brought everything out, I asked why would he bring everything out at one time when I asked for the toast right away? He decided to have an attitude and say well, if you dont want it, it doesnt matter. My steak came out darn near medium rare when I specifically asked for well done and to top it all off, there was a mosquito on the inside of my glass of orange juice. I would not recommend this diner to anyone.

It is a distinct honor to live right above this place. They are always on point with their burgers, and they are ready for pickup really really quickly.

First and last time ordering from this place! Do yourself a favor and pick another restaurant for your business. I placed an order at 7:30 and was informed it would take 20-30 minutes for delivery. The order arrived cold, over an hour later. I called the restaurant to let them know and all they did was deflect to the delivery service. I spoke with someone claiming to be the manager who was extremely rude and lacked the customer service skills to be in that position. The fact of the matter is that the restaurant gave the delivery person the wrong order, so they had to go back and swap orders. Instead of taking responsibility for this error, the manager hung up on me. With all the great restaurants this city has to offer, don’t bother patronizing this one. There are much better quality restaurants and definitely much more professional staff.

Went on a Tuesday, have the veal special, lots of food, great taste. Desert was too sweet for me, they ask me for prove of vaccination which is good, only complain I heard the people working there complaining about not being paid enough.

We dropped in randomly on a rainy Sunday between 10:30 - 11:00 am. It was not crowded. The diner is clean and comfortable. The employees were pleasant. The prices are reasonable and the food was good. I would definitely like to go back in the near future to try something different on the menu.

Hands down the best diner Ive been to in NYC. Impeccable service, great outdoor dining experience, and great vegetarian options. I had the vegetarian focaccia sandwich and it was one of the best Ive ever had. Definitely stopping by every time Im in the area!

Ended up coming back to the Ritz Diner as the food here is just so good. Staying in New York for a week from Scotland and we had breakfast and dinner here. Portion sizes are really big, glass of water for each put on table as soon as you arrive but option to purchase other drinks. Staff are polite, service is quick and portions are large, what more could you want? A real asset to New York, thanks guys

This diner is so unprofessional!!! I ordered some thing they gave me the wrong order and like you see in the photo I kept calling to complain or just ask for the thing that i order but STUFF WAS SERIOUSLY BAD! They didnt wanna pick up the phone, they would leave the line open, and i would hear the laugh! Will never order again

I went there for dinner after the Fireworks displays on the 4th of July and it was crowded. It was ok that day! But when I went again last weekend I saw that the health department rating was no where in site. Omg the ladies bathroom is extremely small and the toilet paper was dirty. Disgusting! Saw other situations from their kitchen that wasnt healthy! So I will never returned here!😔🤔

The best fries! Diners are what make New York special. Being able to sit and talk over a late, casual breakfast on a weekday is one of lifes great luxuries, and I love the eggs here as well.

Terrible service. Impatient and didn’t speak to us at all just appeared to the table. 2 o clock in the morning and we were the only ones in there but said he was too busy. We ordered buffalo wings and he served us fried chicken with hot sauce on the side. Shame. He served us beer and a milkshake in a coffee cup and the told us “orders from the boss” when we inquired.

The cheese steak was absolutely amazing! Full of flavor and very filling. The fries were to die for too. Would love to give it a 5 star but the cheese fries were not very good.

This diner is horrible. They have items on the menu that are not available, so if you order the item from the menu and they do not make it, you will not find out until you receive your order. I ordered Honey dipped fried chicken and they sent me some hard fried chicken and no honey sauce. When I called to explain my order was wrong, the gentlemen that answered said we dont make it even though its on the menu. I ask can I have a refund and he told me that he just put orders together and he is not the owner, so in other words I need to deal with it. He expressed if I have a problem to call in the morning and talk to the manager. So basically you order from them and they send you what they feel you should eat instead of informing the customer the item is not available. The food is basic, tasteless and prepared horrible. The customer service after midnight is useless. I work overnight so it is hard to find places to eat, and most of the employees at my job order from this place because there is nothing else. I work with well over 150 people that order from here and I will definitely make it my business to tell them not to order from this place anymore. Plus a new store just opened on 70th between York and First Avenue and the food is 10 times better and about 6 dollars cheaper.

Good service. Sausage was ok but fatty. Bacon would have been preferred. But side dishes are great, veggies, etc.

This was the closest place to my hotel to get any sort of a got meal and was open late.Looking from the outside it looks like something put of a 90s sitcom but dont let that fool you as the food is fantastic!I ordered the avocado eggs Benedict and it was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and the avocado really paired well. I would recommend asking for your eggs to be cooked a little less as mine were almost hard boiled.

Classic American dinner, you should try the chefs omelette and run away from eggs Benedict. The atmosphere is interesting depending on the manager running the operation. Usually you can only drink some coffee and work but some times the will be a little bit pushy.

Its a no-frills American diner, but WOW the food is bad. Came here twice. Staff is friendly, the place is clean. Not bad. Not great. 3 stars.DETAILS: On my first visit, the hubby and I ordered a burger a piece, deluxe, all the fixings. He asked for medium rare, I asked for medium well. His came well done, mine was medium rare. We shrugged, ate it, left. On my second visit, the kid sister and I ordered a cheesesteak and a cheeseburger deluxe respectively. Those cute tiny pickle things that come with sandwiches (gherkins?) tasted REALLY old. My philly tasted like supermarket deli bread, peppers, a hint of meat, and not much else. The portions are generous. Ambience is casual. Again great place, passable food.

Very big portions. I was able to get full from my steak salad and still take 2/3 of the plate to go. I ordered the spinach salad with steak as a topping. I expected tiny pieces like what you see in most salad toppings but it was generous. I like my steak well done so it came crispy and I was happy with how it tasted. Im removing one star because the salad was on the dull side and had too many ingredients. Like a hodge-podge of random things thrown in; there was a lack of group chemistry within the salad.I recommend this plate. Nice location, typical diner vibes.Oh and another plus, we were able to park right outside the diner which is rare for Manhattan (it was 3am though- not sure if its as easy during the day)

Great place! I order from here pretty often, and I have no complaints with the food. Delicious, quality burger and fries. I can’t tell you about the service, because I only order for delivery, but the food really is so well made! Also, they give you some optional things with the burger, like they put lettuce on the side and a tiny cup of coleslaw.

Dear god stay away. I ordered a Belgian waffle. Not only was it over an hour late, but it made me sicker than covid. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Do NOT order from here.

Theres nothing amazingly special about this coffeeshop/diner on the Upper East Side, but its a solid place to get food 24 hours a day. Theyre good about special orders; I got the Chicken Souvlaki Deluxe with extra salad instead of french fries. Service is quick and at least in the off hours, theyre not in a hurry to throw you out afterwards. Prices are a bit higher than would be ideal, but not thats the neighborhood and some neighborhood places are even more expensive.

Loved the food! Super crisp fries! I came in super later (like 3am) and the owner was so polite he heard I needed an outlet and moved his things despite me insisting otherwise. The restrooms are SPOTLESS and very nice. People give your your space, very relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Beautiful French music playing. I definitely recommend it. The staff is very sharp and professional by the way.

Spending about 20$ I expected that my grilled cheese and fries would be easy and delicious. The grilled cheese was stuck and very messy thrown it looked like and my fries were soggy . The milk shake was the best part of my meal .

Wish I could give them more stars because the food we had has mostly hit the spot. Unfortunately, last night I made another group order for the night shift nurses at MSK ICU and, almost every single group order, SOMETHING or someones meal is always missing. I tried calling, but after several attempts, no one picked up. We rarely have time to eat, much less take time to follow up or chase food, so its consistently been a disappointment ordering from here. This place lost our trust yet again last night. Well be looking elsewhere from now on.

Place looked good & what you would expect a diner too look like. Ordered a milkshake & cheese ravioli which was good! Matzoh ball that came with it was pretty decent, it felt a little bit undercooked.The server was nice and friendly! Also,the food took a while to come out, which I didn’t mind, since I wasn’t rushing but it still was slow.Overall, you can go here for a bite to eat & talk with your friends or family!

The food here is incredible and they have an extensive coffee menu. They serve freshly squeezed lemonade. I had the salmon and it tasted great. Pancakes were also amazing. If youre in the area and are looking for great service, great food, and a quick sit-in then I highly suggest this location.

The portions are enormous, priced right.Getting take out is super easy...15 minutes and youll have a turkey dinner, a pasta meal, huge salad ..you name it.We have gone to this restaurant repeatedly during cancer treatment at Sloan-Kettering. Never disappointed.Cannot say enough about the staff, so friendly, upbeat and work as a team. even when it has been busy, weve always waited less than 5 minutes for a table.You got to go to it! It will be your new favorite place to eat on the east side.
