Absolutely gorgeous and tasty Japanese and French pastry shop. I love how you can see the chefs baking as you eat and and seating is so cozy nice inside. The desserts are so picturesque, almost too good to eat! Not too sweet, in true Asian fashion. My favorite was the Mont Blanc, the chestnut flavor was amazing, but I would recommend everything I ate today. Just order what catches your eye and it seems you can’t go wrong!

I think I have found my favorite desserts shop in the city! I love Japanese-French desserts! This cafe is a perfect place if you’re looking for a balance in between French and Japanese desserts. In general, most of the cakes are not too sweet. So you won’t feel too heavy or guilty eating the second piece. They also customize birthday cake, party cake and cookies gift box.Ambiance is nice and low noise level. Would recommend for smaller groups, afternoon tea or date.I was there for their desserts this time and haven’t got to test taste their savory menu. Will come back soon!

I went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to have a table immediately. The mango chamomile mousse cake and shiso fromage were excellent. I also tried one of their sandwiches, and the bread was lightly toasted and crisp while still being soft to chew. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff is polite. I would definitely come back here on a date for a glass of wine and dessert, or even alone for a cup of tea and a snack 😌 It is so conveniently located to Union Square, I cant believe I didnt know about it earlier. It will definitely be one of my regular spots now.

Food - I ordered the beef stew because they didn’t have the Pork Katsu (this was around 2pm). The meat was tender and flavorful. The rice was cooked just right, not too wet nor too dry. Portions were generous (I only managed to eat half of everything). I also had the caramel cheesecake; could not taste the caramel at all so it was just like eating plain cheesecake.Outdoor seating - it was raining when I went, but everything stayed dry. It was nice and toasty, thanks to the heat lamps that spanned the entire length of the covered structure. Kept my food warm a little longer. :)

We’re really in love with this place and will be coming back to try more desserts! The soba pudding was divine, akin to a creme brûlée. We’ve been missing Hokkaido and Japanese curry so we got the Hokkaido soup curry which was just what we needed on a Sunday afternoon. The sesame latte was a little on the heavier side, so it didn’t pair well but I’d recommend it if you want a more solid and filling latte.Service was great tho a little slow at times maybe due to the sheer number of customers, and the outdoor dining area was very comfortable.

Pastisserie Fouet is one of the trendiest dessert spots recenly in NYC among friends. The decor is artsy and the ambiance is cozy. The outdoor dining area is beautiful with lots of flowery. We got their Shiso Fromage Blanc Mousse and Custard Souffle (2pc) for our first try. The mousse was delicate with a light flavor. The custard souffle was blend and a little disappointing but we might visit again for their $17 tasting menu, which includes the soufflé that’s served warm to see the difference.

Very good, but a little pricey. I gotta be a bit nitpicky here since its an expensive patisserie - my chocolate hazelnut mousse was very nice but there was a stubborn section of the crust that made it difficult to cut, and the taste of this section was also a little inconsistent/tasteless compared to the rest. Other than that, great. My companions also enjoyed their desserts.

I went here for lunch today between classes! I’m honestly surprised nobody talks about the sandwiches in their reviews. I had doubts seeing pictures of the smoked salmon sandwich thinking it wouldn’t be enough to fill me up, but I was very wrong. The open faced sandwich is huge and is very filling.I also got the basil mousse, which is adorably shaped like an apple and tastes absolutely delicious! It’s subtly sweet and just the right size. I can’t wait to come back to try more desserts. My only complaint is that it is a little pricey, but not terribly so (compared to other patisseries) and I am a college student after all, haha.EDIT to add: I wanted to say the staff working were very sweet and patient as well. I’m not sure of her name, but the girl working at the register today was very kind.

I have been wanting to come here for the absolute longest, since they opened up. Came here after a warm hearty meal of udon and appetizers. My friend ordered the sesame latte, and unfortunately it was disappointing for her. It appeared that it was mainly sesame and no espresso shot in sight (as we saw on other people’s pictures on Google/Yelp). I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk, since they did not have soy milk and I thought they were okay. It did taste a bit gritty towards the bottom. However the highlight were definitely the desserts. We ordered the soba pudding, strawberry shortcake, and the Mont Blanc. All the desserts were light and fluffy. The strawberry shortcake had fresh sweetened strawberries that was paired well with the crunchy merengue on the bottom and fluffy whipped cream and sponge cake. The Mont Blanc (light chocolate, raspberry mousse, shiso jelly, and streusel cookie) was surprisingly tasty. I thought it would be cheesy, since it is technically a cheesecake. I was surprised it complemented well with the raspberry mousse (as tho the combo sounded a bit dense). The cookie and jelly provided a change of texture of crunchy and hard jelly. My absolute favorite was the soba pudding. I was skeptical at first because soba you would think of noodles. There is a caramel-brown sugar syrup at the bottom that blended really well with the pudding itself. Topped with a really crunchy cookie (which my friends were not a fan of), I loved it! Highly recommend the soba pudding: toasty bitterness from the syrup envelopes the velvety, creamy pudding topped with a crunch with every bite.I would definitely come back here again, for their afternoon tasting as I really want to try their soufflés.

I am OBSESSED with this cute little Japanese/French patisserie. Such an unassuming place on 13th, you probably have walked by this a million times not knowing how much you are missing out. I wish I could live here. They can meet all your breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, tea time (high tea anyone??) and bread needs. They also have dessert tastings after 4pm. They also serve wine. They have amazing teas and OMG the black sesame latte is to die for. I love their desserts because they are not sugar bombs. And as much as I love cooking and baking, I’m not making a basil mousse shaped like an apple in my kitchen.Service is always great and their food and drink offerings are even greater. I mean, can this place get any better? Yes, if they offer me an apt adjacent to their patisserie.

I would like to begin my review with the staff. The team is so lovely and memorable, elegant, sophisticated. This place is quiet poetic if anyone can notice.Service: The team is so friendly, sophisticated, vibrant, informed, educated. There’s a certain quality amongst Asians. They know when to disappear or blend in. At some restaurant, you simple can’t forget about the staff because the are so obnoxious to some degree or they have such wild energy that you eat very fast and leave. It’s not like that here. They provided great communication and served us efficiently. I was so appreciative of them when they were speaking to us rather than annoyed at their presence, that has to do with not being overwhelmed by them.Food: please know this about real patisseries of quality chefs: nothing is too sweet! I’ve been here a few times and forgot to take photos. This time I remembered. We got the spiced chocolate and macaroons. The Sakura has adzuki beans. The Yuzu is my favorite. Yuzu is a winter citrus, enjoy it while it’s in season! It’s delicate, floral, crispy and little. I think there’s even tiny bits of mochi. The spiced hot chocolate had me hooked. It’s floral, light and alluring. They use really good vanilla and cinnamon. The chocolate is from France.Atmosphere: here’s where everything comes together. You enter and you notice the patisserie and viennoiserie, then you notice the cafe then the staff - all asian! Everything is elegantly placed and thought out. Have you noticed it resembles a French cafe? Or the small decor? Like the gold handles in the bathroom? Or the flooring? The lighting? It’s not about Instagram here. It’s about memories. You come to a place like this to sit and have cafe or tea and enjoy your croissant. This place is romance! You don’t come here to bring your laptop or snap Instagram.I hope you get to enjoy and try everything.

A little chic French patisserie inspired by some Japanese concepts. It has the same owner as Raku, the tasty udon noodle eatery. Soufflé has been always one my favorite desserts and they even have earl grey flavor! Of course, I got it. The fresh tea aroma, the soft buttery texture, the lightly earl grey hint... all of them made it perfect and it was literally made to order! I replaced the vanilla bean ice cream with a scoop of green tea. Not sure if this is a brilliant idea, since I don’t think green tea is good to go with earl grey, but I just simply wanted to try the ice cream. I also like the earl grey pound cake, which has very strong earl grey aroma. I would like it more if it was a little bit more moisture. As my company said, it will be much better to go with coffee. Green tea cookie is a must have if you are a huge fan of green tea. It’s a very light version of shortbread with a perfect balance of the bitterness from green tea and the sweetness from sugar. It’s also a perfect balance of light fresh tea aroma and heavy creamy butter taste. Love love love this patisserie:)12.20.2019Sesame latte is a two shot espresso drink with sweet sesame paste. It doesn’t really taste like a coffee, but the sesame brought some pleasant aroma out of the drink. There would be a thick layer of paste at the bottom once the drink is finished, I loved it so much that I even used the teaspoon to finish them.Sakura mochi macaroon is nicely twisted into Japanese style from French. Mochi mixed with Adzuki, made the macaroon more chewy and less sweet;)12.24.2019Green Tea Tiramisu is lightly sweet. I even didn’t feel the heaviness from mascarpone cheese.Sesame Apricot Cake, apricot compote on top of a thin layer of sesame cake, which is wrapped by sesame mousse. A creative combo;)Also like the Yuzu green tea chiffon;)09.06.2020The miso pistachio pond cake has a subtle savory from miso, very interesting and enjoyable. The sake azuki pond cake is soft and moisture. Although I didn’t taste sake, I love the azuki bean paste in the middle:)

We made a special trip here after dinner on Friday, but was very disappointed. We tried: caramel mousse(?) cake, caramel cheese cake and Mont Blanc. The caramel mousse itself was good (4/5 star), but the outer layer/casing was a weird gelatinous texture as opposed to a ganache. We left all the casing behind, as you can see in the photos. The caramel cheesecake was just try, and the cheesecake layer itself was thin (there was a layer of some sort of caramel brownie thing on top) and was more eggy than cheesecakey. Mont Blanc was ok. The middle chestnut layer had an aftertaste that is strange. We didn’t have any problems with the service, unlike some other reviews. But it was not busy when we went.

We went there last year. Deserts are just okay, nothing really special. They looks better than taste, so thats why its so overrated in this Instagram Era, people pay more attention to how it looks by others than how it tastes. The service is awful!!!! Those asian waitress are just so rude and careless. No idea why the Japanese lady has such a bad attitude. (Im Asian btw) It takes them 20 mins to refill hot water for my tea. You may think they are so busy, but they sure make time to give us the bill right after we only have a few bites on the deserts. They will keep rushing you and make you uncomfortable, so you just leave before you finish your deserts. My advice: just go to some other places because you deserve better than this one

This bakery is a little slice of pastry heaven in the city. Its nestled between 5th and 6th avenue on 13th Street just slightly away from the madness of Union Square. Its airy and a good amount of seating for those looking for a treat. They have mini cakes to croissants and cookies. The croissants are flaky with the tender buttery insides. They will heat it up for you so you can have that extra touch of sinful goodness. The almond one is topped with slices of crunchy almonds and with the first bite you get the shot of creamy paste. Its almonds in all kinds of form but still wont overwhelm you. The garlic Parmesan is my other favorite, think of a garlic bread in a croissant form. You welcome in advance. They also have pound cake but not your run of the mill kind. The day I visited, they had Earl grey, sake with red bean paste and yuzu. Flavors are concentrated but just enough to get a taste of it. The cake itself is dense but still tender, not dry at all. They have a selection of mini cookies and cakes as well. Basically, I recommended coming with a group and just try a bit of everything. Service is quick and friendly. It will give you the boost of energy to go back and face NYC.
