I absolutely love this place. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and I cant say enough nice things about them. The food is delicious and the coffee is amazing. I love coming here to study, read a book, or even just to get out of the house.
This site is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. when I I need a special supper, this place comes immediately to my mind. splendid and food and a rich menu.professional team, and agreeable mood. Also, the charge is affordable. I recommend this spot with no hesitation.
Guys, you definitely need one more chef or smbd else in the kitchen. For easy things you have to wait 30min. It’s insane. Girls, pay more attention for your regulars and your neighbors. My husband ordered so many times over the phone. And always there is a mistake in order. Very sad.
Attentive and friendly staff, and the coffee was good. However, the food was too small for how costly it was and it was lacking flavor. It was one of the most disappointing omelettes I ever had. Also, the space is too small and it doesn’t really have a nice ambience. I would recommend just getting a coffee to go.
I absolutely loved the food here and the staff were exceptionally nice but absolutely careless when I said I had an allergy to avocados. They said they just ran out and I “should be fine” but approximately 20-30 minutes after I had eaten part of their salad I still got sick and had to use my antihistamines and epipen. I wasn’t disappointed in the food by any means but I was certain they did not take the necessary precautions they were supposed to with food allergies. If I didn’t have this issue it would have easily been a 5 star experience and I would love to eat here again since I live so close. But I don’t think I can as a result of my own condition. I hope the workers and owner sees this review and is able to fix this sort of problem, as it seems a lot of New Yorkers have no idea what allergies actually do to people.Coffee was great, food was delicious- still had an allergic reaction to what was likely cutting board remnants, sadly. Luckily my reaction wasn’t bad enough to hospitalize me, but the staff need to be more careful.
Coffee was less then tasty actually tasted flat and was not hot at all.. two minutes after sitting down to try to drink a not good coffee ..a lady comes up to the outdoor sitting and says the other door sitting closes in 5 minutes and within 2 minutes she is moving and dusting 2 feet away from me.. I will never go back..should be name sour hill. One star for lack of manners only because I cannot give zero stars.. attention managers..if you are selling bad tasting coffee atleast give patrons time to finish it.
Cute and cozy little cafe. It’s very small, but they have wall shelf seating if you’re just having coffee. They also have a $5 egg and cheese on a brioche bun or bagel. Total for the items in the photos was $27 with tax and tip. Not too expensive, but not cheap for breakfast. The omelette was $12. Green tea latte was great. Get their melted butter for your toast and put a bit of salt on (so good).
An absolutely wonderful little shop with charm and incredible staff. Eggs Blackstone were to die for!
Cozy little place, good for breakfast on the go. I find their breakfast sandwiches outrageously expensive compared to anywhere else in this specific neighborhood. Their avocado toast is actually very well priced, pretty huge and filling too. Employees are super friendly. All in all I do enjoy going here for breakfast or to grab a cup of coffee.
This coffee shop is really cute and the staff are what makes this place stand out.
Great food reasonable price nice helpful staff. Healthy food.
This place does not exist! We took a Lyft to their address 410 W 145th St, New York, NY 10031 and it is not there! What a waste it time and money. Their phone number does not work either.
Waited half an hour for a “grab and go” sandwich and it was very underwhelming for the price. Place was cute tho.
The baristas here really know how to make a latte. Fortunately, on my most recent visit they were having issues with their AC. It was a little hot and uncomfortable for me, but I think the worst thing is it was really hot for their employees who are stuck there all day. The barista who served me was anxious to be gone, was closing up early, and was pretty surly. I had been planning to meet a friend there, but that didnt work out because they were closing so soon. I should also mention that on other days Ive shown up before their opening hour of 9 a.m. (why so late!?) and theyve served me even though I was early, so thats a big plus. They definitely make some of the best coffee in this area, and if only their opening hours were a little bit more regular and you could count on them being open, this place would be one of my favorite places in Hamilton Heights.
Clean, friendly and good breakfast. Small and cozy. Nice decor.
Great food and service fanatic little place to eat and get great coffee.
Awesome coffee ☕ drinks and breakfast food! Highly recommend! The dining 🍽 experience was pretty sweet, too!
Great neighborhood shop. Food was great and the iced mocha was so refreshing! Definitly will be back for their after hours speakeasy :)
Went here on the recommendation of a friend and boy, am I glad I did! Cozy underground coffee shop and cafe. Great quality coffee with a couple of unique drinks, as well as tasty pastries.I’m quite picky about my coffee, and this place does it for me. There’s nothing more disappointing then getting a coffee/latte with a burnt taste, that you need to cover up with cream and sugar. I’ve also found that a lot of shops tend to be inconsistent, especially with different baristas or different times of day. Both times I went here, the coffee was good and that was with two different baristas. Score!Very good things to say about the lavender agave latte! I love it. My girlfriend had the caramel latte, which was also great. Tried the almond croissant which was very tasty as well. A touch too buttery for me, but overall, super delicious (and what you get a pastry for 😋).Pricing is normal for a coffee shop. Anywhere from $3.50-$5.00 for your cup. Definitely getting your worth here though! Will definitely keep returning here and recommend to others!#sugarhill #coffee #cafe #café #pastry #lavenderagavelatte #sugarhillcafe #underground #cozy
A cozy little cafe with scrumptious little cafe foods and treats.
I’m a coffee lover and there’s very little good coffee shops in the area that know their coffee craft, however, I was impressed with the quality of the coffee beans from Sugar Hill Café. The coffee is rich in flavor so if you’re looking for a great espresso shot or coffee drink I recommend it. I will be coming here often. Great place.
Although its a small place, food is amazing. Choose this based on google reviews.Visited for brunch around 11am. Was crowded.I had Sugar Hill Classic (Sunny Side Up) with Siam Basil Lemongrass Tea. - The tea was exceptional...!My husband had Ooo La Lai French Toast with Matcha Latte. We both enjoyed our selections.
Sugar Hill Cafe is a great place to unwind, detox from the city and or start the day off with a smile! Pleasant, smart, courteous and unpretentious staff are the kind of people you want around not just in your cafe but in the world. The coffee is made with care, unlike on an assembly line (Starbucks etc) and devilishly delectable pastries. Overall the ambience is a treat, an oasis in an otherwise less than savory area.
Cute place and that egg sandwich SLAPPED! Ill be back in the morning.
Awesome hidden gem in the area! Highly recommend the lavender agave latte!Really friendly baristas and good vibes are abundant here!
It smelled rather delicious when I entered and the vanilla breve was perfectly okay. I intended to stay for a while with my lap top however the wifi situation is non existent so that was a bummer.
Loved it! Had a classic omelette and I absolutely cleaned my plate 😋
Cool spot to sit and get some work done! Nice atmosphere. Down to earth.
Excelent Latte Coffee
Delicious coffee. This place serves delicious espresso drinks! We had a double espresso and a lavander agave latte, both were prepared accurately and tasted great. The barista was very nice and willing to make recommendations.
After waiting at the counter for 15 minutes being completely ignored. Someone finally comes and says they have something else to do and they will be back. Thanks, I will not be back.
Very cozy and comfortable place to be. Food and drinks are really good.
.Pros:(+) Rustic cozy little coffee shop(+) Free WiFi(+) Near the corner of the A, B, C, D train(+) Student discount(+) Punch card(+) Vegan optionsCons:(-) Breakfast options are not consistently available since they “run out” of items, like bagel and cream cheese in the morning.(-) Kitchen is in consistent. Some days they are open, some days they are closed early. Don’t depend on food always available here. Depend on coffee...and that’s what I come for.
Great food, friendly service, and cute place.
It’s best
Great quaint place! Great customer service
Very good coffee.
Its a really cute place with delicious food
Lovely place to have a brunch
My friends and I came here for Breakfast early one morning. I was very impressed at the service and the food. The food tasted scrumptious, and the service was surprisingly fast with how busy they were at the time of our visit. One thing I would recommend is, be sure to come here early or as soon as they open if you want eat fast and get your food promptly after you order, as they do get very busy soon after they open up.
Great coffee, food and service!
A cute coffee shop in Hamilton Heights. They also have pretty good food if you have time to grab a bite! Prices are reasonable and staff is always friendly.
We ate at the Sugar Hill Cafe twice for breakfast/brunch. It was by far our favorite food spot during our trip. If we lived in the area we would be regulars! Its small but we were able to get a table both times. Interesting options for adults and our children. Good sized portions. Food and coffee were delicious. Staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this special spot!
This is my third time coming in this week! I had fallen in love. Awesome place! Great vibes... UNTIL this Asian guy who seems to be a manager of some sort went on a rant about “Asian people vs American people” when it comes to recycling. What a terrible thing to rant so negatively about in a shop full of people. He also made his co worker feel super uncomfortable but we appreciate very much how she handled it. Power to you women! ✊🏽 Definitely killed the good vibe. I probably won’t come in when he’s there anymore as that is not the energy I’m looking for with my morning coffee.
Ive walked by this place dozens of times and finally tried it out. Its the best!!! Iced mocha is delicious! The breakfast sandwich on croissant (ham n cheese or tuna, both yummy). And my favorite dish is the Avocado Mash- this yummy mash of avocado over toast (with or without smoked salmon) is not to be missed. A real gem in upper Harlem, especially if you like a place to sit and write or meet up with friends. Really earthy friendly staff. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
One of my favorite neighborhood spots. I order Vanilla Chai Latte with Almond milk pretty much everywhere I go. They make one of the best. Staff is friendly, and the mood is always chill here.
Excellent service 👌
A low key delight near City College. Coffee was smooth and rich. The food was filling and tasty. Cant really comment on price. Im from out of town.
Lovely place
Quintessential NYC coffee shop. This is the type of local place that best helps combat gentrification. Great coffee and great people who work there. The charm and quality of this place can simply not be mass produced. Will definitely be a regular stop when Im in the neighborhood.Only nit would be wheelchair accessibility for those that need it, it located in the basement of a brownstone.
Loved this place! We got our food super quick and it was really good and had good prices, too. Not sure why I’ve seen people upset that they sat down and didn’t get service, as you order at the counter and pay when you order.
Why can these places not update their open/closed status on Google? It takes 2 seconds, I just did it for them. Its not even correct on their own website.
Friendly and patient staff, cozy and beautiful place. Very happy to just have found this place by chance. Exquisite Eggs Bennie!
I adore this place a lot. theres a great feeling. The food is very tasty. the service is efficient and the personel is well trained. The cost is honest. very much recommend.
A nice cozy cafe tucked away near the ACBD. Come for good vibes, good beans, and good food all at a great price. Tables can be limited but the layout for the space is as efficient as it gets. They also do a mean iced mocha!
Cute little cafe thats in the basement - cozy and warm with friendly staff. It would be a bit hard to find if not for the sandwich board right outside. Their iced latte was amazing and they give it to you in a stay cup if youre staying. Real cups are the best way to enjoy your beverage. Im intrigued by their homemade cookies, maybe next time!
Great mocha and delicious ham and cheese bagel. Best of all the service is wonderful. I came in for the open mic several days ago and when I came back to get food several days later my name was remembered and I was treated like a regular. Highly recommend this cool little spot.
Food here is excellent, and not too pricey. Coffee comes with refills, and that is a big bonus. However, we waited for more than 20 minutes before our orders were taken and 45 before our food was served. It was not very busy. Moreover, the staff was so bad at their jobs to such an extent that it almost felt comical. They seemed to understand that they did a bad job though, so they gave us 10% off the price. Not sure if to rate it 1 or 5 stars, so Ill give them 3.
Great place to sit and work. Friendly workers. Great cafe!
Great little cafe. The service is excellent here. I ordered breakfast, and it was delicious. Serving size is perfect, not too small or too big.
Super cool, laid-back spot. The thing many of these slight hipster type spots get wrong is the coffee. Their regular coffee is delicious. The staff is really nice and attentive, without being overbearing.
Great food and I love that its hidden. The ambiance is great. Friendly staff and diverse clientele. Great lil joint in Harlem.
Great coffee. I wish there was more variety in the music that is played. Would like to hear jazz (smooth or traditional ) played SOMETIME... this is Sugar Hill after all & cafe is decorated with jazz related pics.
@sugarhillcafe is the world’s most precious hidden gem... no lies. sunken below the streets of #HamiltonHeights this coffee shop is perfect for a low lit and super casual start to your morning. Sipping on my iced latte and waiting for my green omelette. Give it a try!
We enjoyed a delicious brunch in this cozy spot. Just in New York for the weekend and got a tip to come here from several folks...and Sugar Hill Cafe did not disappoint. Tea and coffee were top rate too. Great, friendly service!
I love this cafe they always play nice music, the coffee is sooo good, and they dont charge extra for non-dairy milk ^·^
This place is a hidden gem! The food is amazing (the avocado salmon mash was out of this world!!!!), the service is great and very friendly! I definitely recommend going! It was also Valentines Day so the girl working there made special little cupcakes which were so perfectly delicious.
Excellent place. Good service. Good luck with business.
Wish I could do a 3.5. Staff is cool, though it can take some time for them to get to you. Space is tight, but cozy. Food is fine, but theyve consistently not had what I wanted, so thats no bueno.
Warm, cozy atmosphere. Great music. Delicious coffee. Friendly, low key service. Who could ask for more?
Best in uptown. I would say best in nyc.Always great service and coffee. Cozy and perfect food at reasonable priceI love this hidden awesome place
Coffee was good, the Bagel sandwich with scrambled eggs and cheese was not, there was barely any cheese in the eggs and as a whole it was just tasteless. Also, the manager (an Asian looking guy)was shouting at his staff, threatning to fire someone while the cafe was packed with customers. Very unprofessional!
Normally I would rate this nice boutique cafe 5 stars without doubt. But the owner(?!), a brown haired girl was so out of humor and really poured bad mood. No clue why.
Wanted to taste the food however the service was horrible. No one greeted us when we came in. So we sat ourselves and waited for almost 15 minutes with still no service. Saw several other patrons that had their cleared dishes sitting on their tables. Didn’t even see anyone busing tables or bringing checks. Others looked a bit irritated as well. Not sure what their deal is, but we will never return.
Really great turkey panini! The staff is super personable, great music, great spot for lunch. Relaxing hideaway before heading back out into the city!
