I’ve only left a not 5 star review one other time in my life butw0w I just paid $13 for literally just a bowl of boiled completely unseasoned sad vegetables (aside from the small pool of water and oil at the bottom) with a single egg on the topThis just was the worst thing I’ve eaten in a whileConsider adding I dunno… salt?? Rice?? pEPper?? Some type of sauce?? Give me sOmething.Deeply considered taking this pile of vegetables home to use as ingredients for dinnerThe matcha was super good and the staff were fairly friendly!
Yes the coffee IS great. But it’s the Tuna Melt you really want. Trust me. It is worth every bite. So delicious. It’s a challenge to only have one a week. Obsessed
They recommended this coffee establishment to my father. Its a fantastic location to sip the greatest coffee in the region, which goes well with the restaurants outstanding menu! The atmosphere is nice, and the menu includes a variety of dishes and drinks. Unquestionably a must-visit coffee place! We will definitely return and suggest this location to my friends.
Last Friday, we spent our time here with my friends. We ordered Cappuccino and Espresso, and all of them were all great. So tasty! It would soothe your mind. I loved it so much, so my friends. All the baristas are smiling and accommodating, so you would be comfortable asking them any favors. Just come and try!
Finally, I found the best coffee shop. The coffees and foods here are very well worth the money. You cant go wrong with this coffee shop. Everything about this place is perfect and awe-inspiring. All of the crews are awesome and accommodating. This is very worth visiting.
Al is amazing and very friendly. I went to this coffee shop this morning, and he was the one who made my coffee. This coffee shop has the best organic, high-quality teas and coffees that I have tasted. The place is as perfect as their coffee, very quaint and cozy. All coffee lovers must stop by this place! Dont miss to try their Cappuccino, guys!
Your coffee shop is the best place to relax and hang out with friends. I was so happy that I found your shop with the help of my friends. I thanked your staves for accommodating me nicely, and for serving my order on time. A big thanks to all f you! You deserve to be at the top list! Youre highly recommended to everyone!
I don’t get the good reviews. I got an iced coffee and it was horrible - tasted rancid and bitter. Will never come here again. I threw it away after drinking a couple sips. I’m so disappointed because I’ve heard great things.
Fantastic shop for coffee! My husband and I have had the opportunity to explore what we need for our future. This coffee shop atmosphere has been a tremendous help. Their quiet and green decor was impressive. It makes us feel that they werent in town, somewhere refreshing in the garden. Thank you so much for the friendly workers that welcomed us. Nice way! Good way!
My boyfriend and I loved this coffee shop for a sip of coffee! Its a quaint little coffee shop with great wifi and an extensive menu. The service was great and quick as we had a tour we had to rush to after. The staff are also very friendly, and the prices were reasonable given the quality. A must-visit coffee shop!
This coffee shop has removed all of their indoor dining as of Sept 2021. There is outdoor dining and WiFi is no longer available. Fine experience but worth noting!
For all the coffee shops that I visited in this town, this is one of my favorite shops. The taste of the foods and the coffee was good and accurate as I expected. Besides, the waiter that served my order at that time was very accommodating and pleasant. I was greatly impressed with their shop. It was clean, fascinating, and worth it. Thank you!
I think it’s too expensive for what it is. The coffee and pastries are very nice, though. The employees are nice as well, so it gets an extra star.
Youre the best of the rest! What I like about your coffee shop is that you just have a taste of me when it comes to coffee and pastries. Its not that good, and its great. You deserve to be at the top of the list, guys! You want me to recommend your shop to all my colleagues. Yeah, thank you so much, guys!
This is one of the places that we usually visited with my family for they have different flavors of coffee and desserts. The owner of this place is very down to earth and the staff members are very friendly and hospitable. We are all thankful to the owner and the staff members for they served us awesomely. You never fail in giving good service! We will be back here soon!
The grilled cheese sandwich and chicken lemon soup are highly recommended.
Best iced vanilla latte with almond milk I have everrr had. And trust me I have had TONS! The service was also great! My sister had the chai and also loved it!
Loved the concept, great coffee and a very relaxing place to start the day/get a break from life. Loved to sit outside, hip and trendy coffee shop! I love this place so much more than the other coffee shops that Ive been to. Its great!
Got a small black drip coffee, very very good. Had a nice cherry-like base, with a heady syrup-lemongrass taste. Great brew. Appreciated the 8 oz sizing option, great for a second coffee in the afternoon
Christine and Greg are the best! This was my go-to spot when I lived in the West Village and my favorite things on the menu are the tuna melt, banana smoothie and the wellness bowl. They also have free dog treats so my frenchie Archer loved going as well :)
The breakfast was great but the staff wasn’t particularly kind nor helpful.
I am so so sorry but i need to rate this place 1 start and the only reason is because the barista was so rude and so unprofessional, i can’t accept that.Unfortunately if you work at a coffee shop and you deal with people daily and constantly you should love to be around and in front of people. Her name is Katelen i believe.Besides this little accident that ruined my afternoon at the Elk, i love the spot, it’s small and cozy.
Good expresso. Nice outdoor area.
For the first time, I tried this place out and was so happy! And the food is incredible. Highly old school and fast service. I love the place.
The first coffee of the morning was so fantastic that I just kept going there! The workers are wonderful, the food is nice and the place - away from the visitors - is perfect. The best independent coffee shop weve probably been to.
Absolutely ADORE the Elk - its a cozy coffee shop turned into neighborhood goods store during Covid (great use of indoor space!) where I go to stock up on hand sanitizer, lotions, candles - they also have wine, pasta sauce etc.The food is really yummy and Im always debating between the traditional breakfast burrito or one of their tossed green veggies with eggs (more of asian flavor profile) - they have something for everyone. There might be a a bit of wait but its 100% worth it so just enjoy the sunshine then grab your food and go sit by the waterfront.
The environment is so warm and inviting and so attentive, helpful and friendly are all those who work here. They make you feel so cared for and welcome.
Highly recommended coffee shop! A week ago, my mother and I decided to relax while sipping hot coffee in your wonderful shop. We were so happy when we reached the place because your staves welcomed us with a smile. We were so surprised when he served our order quickly. It was the best coffee shop ever!
Great coffee shop with outdoor seating.
Baristas are the best for they could make great different coffee flavors in a day. As we had the three flavors, we were all liked it. All of it was so tasty and satisfying. Thus, I became a coffee lover! They have amazing desserts as well at affordable prices. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I wish that they would open a second location even closer to me!
Vast variety of snacks and beverages, vegetarian option available, very nice and welcoming atmosphere. They made a great cappuccino that was customized.
A sweet little coffee shop! Theres more of a walk in and togo coffee shop here because theres not much space here to sit and talk. With their specialty waffles, I got their spicy Americano. Pretty good!
Great local classic breakfast cafe THE ELK. Their toast and pancakes are definitely worth a try and so are their dishes.
Christine and Greg are the best! This was my go-to spot when I lived in the West Village and my favorite things on the menu are the tuna melt, banana smoothie and the wellness bowl. They also have free dog treats so my frenchie Archer loved going as well :)
The cappuccino was even better, the best coffee of the city. The barista is very good in making different toppings. The staff is very friendly.
The best coffee shop in the metro. It is our routine now to spend our morning date with my partner here. Before going to the office, it is a must to have their coffee, especially their Latte. I love the aroma and the taste of their coffee beans. It seems different from any other coffee shop I had before.
The barista in this coffee shop was the best! He was even better than at the one at Starbucks! The place was very cozy and pleasing. It has amazing food other than their great coffees. And the best part, it was cheaper than anywhere else in the city! The staff was super friendly. I wish they would open another branch near me.
You wont be disappointed in the menu and service. There was quick and friendly service. The place has an awesome feel to it. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.
Hi this is Miriam from the Brooklyn Agency saying Hi and it is a real pleasure working with you guys!!!
This place is fantastic! Amazing food one of our favorite places in Ny. Great Customer Service. Will Definitely Be Back.
Chemex with Ethiopia beans was full of flavor and wonderful aftertaste. Thanks! And I think this has restored the image of coffee industry in NYC Iin my eyes )
Good coffee and food that is a must. When simple food is this well prepared and presented you know your Chef is a keeper.
Cute neighborhood café, great food and high quality coffee. Would rate it 5 stars if their staff exhibited more friendly hospitality. Most times I go there, I feel bad energy from one of the staff members. Easy to fix.
It used to be a ok place before the lockdown. It felt like they thought they were too cool for something. It’s gotten worse after. No greeting as I walked in saying hello. Asked if the charge was correct and this young girl yelled at me there was additional charge for almond milk, which any other place would explain before you are charged when you ask to substitute. Too much attitude among staff.
In the busy city, it was a pleasure to get an excellent sandwich and great coffee. The atmosphere of the café is relaxing and pleasant.
Wow! This restaurant was perfectly suited to me. I got my reservations on time as they promised me.
I spent almost $20 on a large coffee and a sandwich and was told to stand outside to wait for my food. If I had known I would be forced to stand in the cold I wouldnt have gone there.
This coffee shop really has the best coffee thats best for me! Every time I come around here, the staffs are very polite and even greeted me enthusiastically. The coffee was really good, and thanks to this barista, who does it very well. For me, this would be the best coffee shop ever! Strongly recommended!
These guys serve some really nice matcha late, just a few places know how to do it properly. 5 stars from me
My go-to place in NYC. Even if I’m staying across town I’ll always make a trip to the West Village for The Elk. They have the best latte and yummiest food. The sit down tables inside are laptop free but they do have WiFi and you can use your laptop on the other side of the cafe. It’s a super cozy spot and perfect for getting some work done or meeting up with friends.
Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. the staff was very friendly and attentive.
One of the best coffee spots around! I just tried this place out for the first time yesterday and let me tell you their coffee doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend trying the iced latte. The quality, flavor and freshness of their coffee is the real deal.
Cute little cafe on a quiet street. There are a few chairs outside to sit down for a quick coffee break.
My favorite cafe that provides the best customer service, the best tea selection and serves the best lattes.
Definitely loved the ambience, just turning off the phone and enjoying a cup of latte on a quiet Saturday morning in NYC people watching and phasing out of busy life for a bit. I like the neighborhood that this place is in as well. So I would recommend.
This little Cafe has almost everything you want. From eggs to sandwiches to salads to noodles. Did I mention noodles? They have cold soba noodles. It comes in a form of a salad with mixed greens and an amazing acidic dressing.
One is never going to fill your heart..The doughnuts are nice too..whatever you’re craving once all the aromas of butter, chocolate, and more butter hit you.
Excellent little cafe shop with friendly staff, great cold brew, and solid/healthy kitchen. Highly recommend!!
Dope coffee spot, its always on point with the coffee and the music. Im just upset that I dont work in this neighborhood anymore because I loved walking here and getting some coffee. Highly recommend if youre trying to get away from a big chain.
Beautiful small coffee shop. Light wood planks on the wall give it a rustic yet bright vibe. Lots of young people on laptops. I got a decaf iced latte, which was on the weaker side, but the espresso flavor was still there.
Really nice neighborhood coffeeshop, delicious coffee
Really great coffee and a nice shop. Staff isn’t always super welcoming but the place is still amazing.
During my short visit in New York I went to THE ELK every day to have at least one of my cups from there!!! What a great coffee! Strong and flavorful! Exactly how I want it! Thank you,THE ELK for that!!!
Its a cafe full of coziness. They serves quite many light brunches and sandwiches compared to the similar size of small cafe. The coffee is great, blended well with milk if you are a latte lover. There arent many seats but people kind of come and go so if you wait a bit you will grab a space. The interior is with high ceiling so it makes the space more spatial especially for the window seats, great for working and reading. They also have good playlist to make you calm and focused.
One of my favorite cafes in the city. Before anything else, I appreciate that they really appreciate their coffee. Serving Parlor, the baristas are skilled and actually make an effort to showcase the beans. And the separating factors: The perfect tucked away location in the West Village, contemporary but cozy decor with lots of wood, good music, nice aroma (they sell candles and things as well), perfect to work or have a conversation.
Their cortado is good. A little milkier than I personally like it, but nevertheless still good. This place is really small, so I had to get my coffee takeaway. Recommend trying this place out.
My favorite coffee place closer to Soho. The coffee taste is superb. Further you get backers and small warm breakfast in the morning. Really lovely.
Coffee was excellent!! Im a Brooklyn boy born and raised and travel the five boroughs for good coffee. This place was worth the trip. A little to pretentious for me though. Ill stick with Brooklyn. Peace.
Best chai I’ve ever had in New York
Great coffee, great space, clean and a lot of options
This is a very cozy and relaxed coffee shop. Everyone here is very nice and the they have a pretty decent coffee menu too.
That’s a truly nice coffee shop. True New York style venue to sip some coffee and read a book or work by laptop. Not much space to be seated, however, I never miss a chance to drop in while in Greenwich Village when it is cold and I need some flavor of warmth and coziness.Coffee is fine, nothing special, it’s just ok. I like it. Pastries are not that numerous, but good. Overall, this is good coffee shop to pay a visit.I like to spend there my time working over a notebook or reading even if it’s crowded there. This noise does not bother me at all.The only thing that I didn’t like is that it’s personnel is not smiley at all. Well, i got used that people that work in coffee shops like places always greet you when you enter. Sometimes they can even ignore me when I stand nearby with an intention to make an order.
Great breakfast sandwiches that are always very high quality
Cane here for the breakfast burrito after I got a recommendation. Not bad at all! Nice limey flavor mixed in, and the chorizo is nice. That said, I am not sure I would really go out of my way for it though. If you are interested area and are interested in breakfast, go for it. Otherwise, NY is filled with so much awesome food.
Definitely loved the ambience, just turning off the phone and enjoying a cup of latte on a quiet Saturday morning in NYC people watching and phasing out of busy life for a bit. I like the neighborhood that this place is in as well. So I would recommend.
Love this small but cute place. It has a couple of tables. Prices are really good for the area. And the Hot chocolate is good!
Amazing coffee. A bit crowded and tough to find a spot if you were to pull out a laptop. But some nice seating outside as well
Looks cool when you walk in.
