Specialty coffee at its finest. No whistles or flairs just incredibly well-dialed in bran with expertly-steamed milk. I get a skin flat white and the barista, who ever it may be on that given day, knows not to scorch the milk which is a huge deal for a quick drink like a flat white. This place is a cute little hole in the wall with a bit of outdoor seating available. Lots of dog owners in the area walk their dogs and I happened to snag a pic of a friendly one on a morning I was there catching up with a friend!
This is the perfect coffee shop! They have great service, friendly staff, and amazing ambiance. Drinks are inexpensive and theres always plenty of seats available. I always feel better after coming here to study or get out of the house a bit, and the atmosphere feels productive. I highly recommend this coffee shop.
If you are looking for good quality coffee from a small scale outfit with a soul this place is for you. Some outdoor seating is available. You could also grab a small bite here. So grab an espresso based drink on the way to John Jay park or treat yourself after a swim in the public pool there. Try this at home and get their Coffee beans too.
Great coffee and super friendly service - its a joy to come here
Theres a reason I walk 10 blocks past a million other coffee shops to OSLO (clarification: upper east side, not Norway). Its because the coffee is outstanding and theres certain tiny coffee shop charm that I love. That said, it is very tiny, but thats usually not a problem. It does sometimes get a little crowded in there, but again, people are there because its fantastic. They also have baked goods from NYC bakeries available, so if youre feeling a little hungry with that coffee youre in good hands.
My fave local coffee spot. Never had a bad drink or experience there. Friendly and helpful baristas. Great beans for home brewing. Tucked away on 75th far enough away from the noise of 1st ave. Seating is lacking but they do have some outdoor tables.
I went for a bag of the Freda Dark Roast. I loved it. I hope that my first impression will continue.
After much research and countless average cups of coffee, I have finally found the best coffee on the UES in Oslo. Consistently great, never burnt. Staff always has the nicest, most pleasant, welcoming vibe. Good cookies too when they have them!
Fastest service experience at here. Nice store set up. Nice staff.
This was a very nice, clean place to stop in for breakfast. The food was great and the atmosphere was busy and fun. They had breakfast items as well as pastries. Great cinnamon roll and bacon/egg croissants. I enjoyed this meal very much.
My favorite coffee on the UES and the cold brew is the best I’ve found in the city. Always super friendly too.
I couldnt wait to try Home after reading all the reviews and seeing all the great pics on Instagram. Finding the spot was easy, however parking was another story. After circling the block a few times, we decided to park a few blocks away and walk. And got the record, I wouldve walked another few blocks to go!!!!
Great coffee and really friendly people working there! All I could ask for in a little coffee shop!
Coffee is great but a long line and only one person making coffee and serving customers.
This is one of the best coffee shops ever. The coffee is simply good and the baristas are beautiful, warm, and friendly. Its definitely worth a visit, but I wouldnt recommend it if you are trying to sit down and work remote. Id recommend it to someone who just wants to quickly get some awesome coffee.
Fantastic cold brew and extremely kind staff!
Great cold brew!
Cutest little front seating area (during Non-COVID times) to sip your dark roast and snack on a lovely pastry
After visiting every coffee shop on the UES, Oslo Coffee wins the award for serving the BEST latte in the neighborhood! If you havent yet tried Oslos coffee, buckle your seat belt, youre in for a treat. The only problem? After visiting Oslo, you too may be ruined, and any other coffee cant hold a candle to what Oslo serves.
The blonde barista was rude and irritable today when I asked her to add milk to my coffee. Why not just ask before preparing the beverage like everyone else? Then another time she seems annoyed I was waiting outside prior to them opening. Its a shame because normally the people that work at oslo are amazing.
This place owns a piece of my heart, and it will own a piece of yours too if you come back enough. the team that works there are all such interesting, funny and caring people, and they make that coffee machine sing. all the other shops in the area, yea yea yea they sell coffee too, but Oslo is what I look forward to every morning. whats not to love?
Love the cappuccinos and lattes from here. Expand the seating area, Olso!! So we can sit and chill for hours drinking your coffee!
Without question, the best coffee in the neighborhood (and some pretty damn good pastries, too). Downside is that its very tiny (seats about 3-4 inside), though benches outside add a few more spots in nice weather.
With the closure of my favorite neighborhood coffee shop, Sugar Loaf Cafe, I had the good fortune of being introduced to Oslo within a few days. Delicious Brooklyn roasted beans in a small, no frills shop on a quiet street a couple blocks from the Sugar Loaf location. Not necessarily the kind of coffee shop where youd sit and work on your screenplay or discuss plagiarism in the digital age with other philosopher autodidacts, but certainly a place where you can find a very well crafted espresso drink. It really was a top flight latte. The barista even tried to do latte art. Im sure shell get better with time - it *almost* looked like a flower. The new best coffee in the neighborhood crown goes to Oslo Coffee Roasters. RIP Sugar Loaf.
A small hipster-like coffee place. Went here on several occasions. Coffee tastes great. Bit on the higher price range. The coffee menu seems bit basic, but then whatever you choose, youll get a good-quality beverage.
Tiny little hidden gem of a coffeeshop on an Upper East Side side street. Great coffee and a nice vibe. They have a little bench inside to sit and enjoy fine mornings. One of my favorite coffee spots in the neighborhood.
Had a nice pastry there (an eggy coconutty thing with Nutella), coffee was great!
Great espresso, plus free coffee with purchase of beans. Place is super small, so dont expect cozy seating. But coffee is really great, and thats the most important part of the coffee shop.
My neighborhood coffee shop. Excellent coffee, nice staff. Real hidden gem in New York City.
Love this place and come quite frequently. There is not bathroom or seating, so its a take away coffee place. Highly recommend for coffee!!
Such good coffee. Also, love the fact they give you a drink when you buy a bag of coffee.
Best iced latte Ive had so far. They have newspapers for you to peruse while you sip on your delicious drink on their bench outside.
The coffee wasnt good, the pastry was even worse, very gresy and overbaked. The staff was nice and prices were reasonable.
Fantastic coffee!! All the staff are wonderful and more than happy to share coffee knowledge. Plus if you buy a bag of beans (or grounds) you get a free drink!
Lovely spot for coffee, its great to have to them in my neighborhood.
My favorite morning place. Great coffee, great staff. I wish they would ban strollers, the place is 15 x 25 for goodness sake. Also hotter lattes would be nice.
Great espresso, plus free coffee with purchase of beans. Place is super small, so dont expect cozy seating. But coffee is really great, and thats the most important part of the coffee shop.
Its pretty much coffee and thats it. Not too much else by way of pastries, bagels, sandwiches or snacks. Its good if you live near by. Would I go running out of the way for it? Probably not. Would I personally be back considering I live so close. The answer is yes.
I dont love coffee but I love getting a latte from here on a Saturday morning. You can also buy growlers of iced coffee and beans and get a free drink when you do! Be careful of all the strollers that tend to park outside.
Good coffee but you dont want to linger. Great for a cup to go.
Its our go to place for coffee. Friendly staff and dont forget the free cup with purchase of a bag of beans. We often order online as well the 5lb bag of the seasonal bean the huntsman. Its our favorite!
Great coffee made the proper way. That’s all you can ask from a coffee place.
Barista polite but not too friendly.Cosy place but poor seating.Coffee rather average. Better than Starbucks but not spectacular. Their hours are convenient for a quick cup to work
Disagree with below mention. Coffee is overpriced and overfried too acidy. Stuff are not trained, music too loud, pastry dry. But someone may walk 10 blocks for it...maybe they just do not know 2 little hens, Dambroeus or Joes coffee shops that offer a far better taste for same money.
OMG
A small, tucked away spot with some great expresso! Worth a visit for that afternoon caffeine recharge.
Small space but arguably the best coffee in NYC. I always buy a lb. of beans to take home, too (Try the Golden Tree)
They make great cappuccino! I had 30 minutes to kill today and I was very excited to find this coffee place! Its in a pretty quite street in UES. The service was excellent. Five stars for the barista today!
I get a coffee from here every morning whenever we visit NYC. Great coffee and even better service 😀
Only one choice! Ice latte!Only one size but oh boy. It is in class of its own.
Love Oslo! Great Brooklyn/local coffee joint that supersedes Starbucks.
Really nice coffee and fast service, the latte was simply perfect
Great place! Staff was very friendly. Thanks for great service.
Coffee is good and people are nice.
Nice coffee and much better than starbucks! They offer soy and hemp milk too which is great.
Great coffee, friendly baristas, lovely bench outside for good weather. No Wi-Fi or tables though
One of my favorite coffee spot in the UES. Good coffee, nice service and sells beans by the bag and will grind for you if you wish. Small but just for a quick pick up.
The barista was so rude to me when I asked for WiFi
Amazing, strong coffee and super cool/friendly baristas!
Best coffee in the neighborhood! But it’s just for grab’n’go. The place is tiny so don’t expect to sit and work there.
Love the latte and the almond croissant. Great services and good music, too.
House roast has dark chocolate sweetness and crema pulled from a vintage espresso machine. One of the best cups in the city but lack of indoor seating or accompanying food may not make this for everyone.
Nice, cozy neighborhood coffee place. Great mocha and the croissants are amazing!
Thank you for recognizing the bliss that is a Flat White, and that not everyone wants a pint of milk in their coffee.
Without any doubt the best coffee in town.
They have amazing coffee! Great Michael and americano s
Small space, top-notch coffee. Its worth grabbing some beans for home brewing too. Try the Freya blend.
Good cup of coffee in a nice little spot in UES. A bit disappointed they dont do pour overs. Limited pastry selection but you go there for the coffee anyways
Best coffee on the UES
Great cup of coffee. Cozy space, felt a bit awkward and wished I felt a little bit more welcomed but the coffee makes up for it.
Good coffee. No restrooms.
Sweeet... little off-road hangout.
Delicious quality coffee with friendly experienced baristas. Buy a bag of their beans and theyll give you any drink from the menu free!
Great coffee. Best Ive had in the UES.
Favorite coffee shop it the city. Great lattes and cold brew.
OMG! This is my crack coffee. I buy the jug refills. All I need is a straw for the jug refills. Haha!
This is the best coffee Ive ever drank. Actually, their Wild Huntsman brew was the best thing to pass my lips...literally THE BEST....but their everyday Thor, Odin, whatever....is exceptional. If youre looking for free Wi-fi, a bathroom, and over-priced toilet-juice poured by someone who will probably not be working there next week, please go immediately to Starbucks. If you just want a real cup of excellent coffee (espresso, Americana, whatever) served by an excellent barista, then go to Oslo. I go out of my way to come here because I love the coffee and the people who serve it.
Very small place, small choice of sweet, normal coffee
Americano was on point. Very happy we have this in the neighborhood. Just like the coffee I had in Oslo.
Small hole in the wall coffee shop. Good cold brew and they serve Oatly oat milk
Very good espresso and cappuccino. Get some Odin coffee beans for home brewed espresso.
Great coffee - kept us going for the 12 months we were living in UES.
Great coffee; often give you a free espresso if you buy beans.
Good cup of coffee if you need to break away from the Starbucks monotony. This is a pretty small shop and they often are busy.
Quick service. Best coffee on the UES by far. Try the latte with hemp milk.
Great cappuccino
Had the Odins Espresso, and I LOVE IT!
Good solid cup of coffee that does not need to covered up with sugar and milk.
Its like a little brooklyn in UES if youre into that. Despite the long line in the mornings the coffee is not bad.
Their coffee is string but so good
One of my favorite coffee places in Upper East Side.
Very very very tiny coffee shop with no restroom and normally a long line! that being said, it is very cozy ad the coffee is delicious,
A tiny coffee shop with good coffee and friendly staff.
