A fantastic environment with wonderful vibes. The staff is excellent, they make you feel like family and Mallory is a wonderful owner and a great person. Their waffle Saturday’s are fantastic and their drinks are lovely, they are always willing to work with me when I am feeling high maintenance and want a delicious decaf espresso drink!! A great place to be!!

Good coffee and drinks, a great place to hang out and get some food. But more than anything it has a wonderful atmosphere. Lots of sun, local art pieces, upbeat music, and great employees. I would suggest to any college student to give this place a try. Plenty of places to sit and work on projects or just meet up with old friends. Only downside is its so popular it can be hard to find a spot sometimes.

Lots of seating, as well as a variety of seating options. They just added a nice outdoor area. This is my go-to spot to meet clients/prospects/peers/friends.Best thing about Roots is the diversity and amount of seating. Nothing worse, when meeting someone for coffee, to find that all the seats are taken. The only bad thing is the parking situation. If someone is unfamiliar with this cafe, it can be a little awkward to find street parking. Also, sometimes (rarely) there arent any close spots to park on the street, so you have to walk a block or two.

Fantastic food every single time. Their bagels are made in Nantucket and they make their cream cheese in house. I normally get the BLT on an asiago bagel but this morning my daughter tried the Rosemary & Sea Salt bagel which was bomb! Ill be getting my BLT on that next time! The coffee is amazing, my personal fav is the Cafe Miel. The vibe is super chill and cozy. Many people working on laptops throughout the day probably because it feels like youre just lounging at home. Its the best local coffee shop in GR.

Cozy but big enough to find a spot every time. I like all the different styles of counters/tables to use and spread my work out on. I enjoyed my tea and my bagel with a cinnamon cream cheese. It was delicious. I love how it is open late, I work better in the evening. This was my first time there. I did find it a bit dark (lighting) my first visit, so the next time I return, which will be soon ( I loved it) I will revisit the lighting again. It may have just been where I was sitting. I have been visiting Grand Rapids for a week. I have been to at least a handful of coffee shops, working during the day. Roots Brew Shop is definitely my favorite place to be, and I am sad that I found it on my last day here. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect for a quaint conversation with a friend or to work. The music is at the right level. There is comfortable seating. The temperature and light are perfect. But most of all the staff is fantastic. Im not a coffee drinker, so sometimes coffee shops feel stuffy to me. But the staff not only let me just look, they also helped me pick drinks that were fantastic! I genuinely love the atmosphere of this place, but I have to complain about something that makes me feel like such a drag... I ordered a decaf latte because Im pregnant and prefer not to have caffeine during pregnancy, but the coffee clearly wasnt decaffeinated. I can tell because its 2am and Im still jittery and wide awake. Not sure if the barista forgot to make it decaf, or if their decaf coffee has higher traces of caffeine than normal. Just a heads up to anyone ordering decaffeinated coffee.
