Enjoyed our visit to Mudpenny. Both our meals were great, especially the club sandwich. The coffee was much better than the usual sludge at breakfast places. The building and interior was tasteful and clean. The service was a bit slow for us, but it turned out they were understaffed that day. Definitely worth a try if youre in the area!

Oh my gosh, their food was incredible! I highly recommend anything with the garlic aioli. I love that a few meals could easily be made vegan. Plus the staff was super kind and the food came out quick.I didnt get pictures because I immediately devoured my food but am hoping to go back tomorrow!

I really enjoy MudPenny, but its not for everyone. They have evolved from a coffee shop to a sit-down restaurant, which changes the vibe for me. Their menu is unique and they use locally sourced ingredients. I genuinely appreciate that, but it does mean that it is not within my price range so I tend to limit my visits or only order a drink when I visit. The staff is always friendly and personable, and I have noticed that staff still wear masks, which shows this extra level of commitment to customer safety that a lot of places cannot provide.Recently I ordered an oat milk latte with strawberry. It was amazing. It was an iced beverage and they make their syrups in-house, so it is not too sweet or artificial. Highly recommended.MudPenny pays close attention to the details, in all aspects of their business. I look forward to seeing their continued growth.

Mudpenny is one of my favorite places to eat in Grand Rapids. They have delicious food and delightful coffee. I have e joyed my experiences there. They have a great menu and plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. I enjoy the h more story and branding. The to go cups are neat. Only wish the roaster was a little more quiet and smelled a but better. Would recommend to anyone. Close to downtown. Can be busy so there is a wait and parking can be a little tricky. I have been street parking.

I had the Shroomer sandwich and PB with apples. The sandwich was awesome!!! So was the root beer... better than the electric cheetah! I wish there were more vegan options at the Franklin Location

Expensive and hipsterish. good quality though and interesting options. but being made to feel like your bothering someone to get off their computer to seat you is off-putting. i wouldnt mind seating myself so its a self inflected problem. they have good coffee drinks and those prices are not too bad but 17$ for a breakfast burrito leaves a bad taste in my mouth. oh i almost forgot to say its horribly slow, not understaffed just slow slow slow staff.

Five stars, and more! Roosevelt Park location is beautiful. The atmosphere is great for a quick trip, study spot, dates, hanging out...everything! The employees are so kind and devoted to the customer. The food is insanely good, the menu is always evolving and they have great options for all types of diets. The coffee is SO GOOD and roasted in house (bonus, you can buy beans to take home!) Also, they have gone above and beyond during COVID19 to make everything as safe and clean as possible.

This is one of my most frequented coffee shops in Grand Rapids. Ive been going here since they first opened and there honestly isnt a bad thing I can say about it. At the core, they have it together: good food, good coffee, good service. And good service is an understatement. Every single person that walks through this door is treated exceptionally well. (I know, because Im a photographer that works remotely, and I camp out at the big community table that is located just inside the front door.) Mudpenny provides an experience that is unique from other cafes. Their grand opening in Ada cannot come soon enough. Patio seating? YES PLEASE.

MudPenny has the greatest service and the most wonderful Grand Rapids tribe around. The coffee is some of the best in GR. The food is something magical. Seriously. Perfect place to work, meet up with coworkers, or grab a coffee with friends. They are anything from an ordinary coffee shop. Check out their incredible black coffee mugs! They are expanding to a location in Ada too.

This is a hidden gem! My husband found this restaurant in the Grand Rapids Magazine. The food was delicious, good strong coffee. The people were very nice and offered great service. After a full breakfast they were able to talk us into a couple of cookies to go with our coffee. Well definitely be baxk.

Meh, slow and lacking flavor. Went for lunch because they had some low carb friendly options. The service was very slow even to get water, wouldnt recommend if you were trying to get back to the office at a specific time. I got the Billy Goat keto style which just means they add summer squash instead of sweet potato. Im not sure if this was supposed to be served warm or cold as it was somewhere in between by the time I finally got it. Kind of seemed like it was hot but had sat around for a bit. Flavor was surprisingly bland and the avocado tasted like the prepackaged kind. There was no salt and pepper on the table and the waitress didnt stop by until we called her over. I was able to get some hot sauce to help. Its nice that they uses locally sourced ingredients but Im hoping they add some flavor.

I ordered a BYOB but the food was bad. Y’all ever heard of salt and pepper? No spices and food was bland. I asked for sunny side up and got a medium egg. Potatoes tasted undercooked. The toast was good. You can’t mess up toast. The jam was ok. Bacon was good as well since bacon has fat and is salty so doesn’t really needed seasoning.My dad asked for sugar and the server came back 5 minutes and ignored him. He asked a different server and she brought it back a minute later. She was awesome. Not sure how you can give coffee and not serve sugar/cream the first time. Maybe we were ignored because we looked like we’re dressed in sport clothing rather than the rest of the customer who looked affluent. They also kind of looked at us funny but can’t blame the restaurant for that.The simplistic look makes it look nice but food doesn’t back up the prices and nice look of the restaurant. It’s a shame really.

Absolutely delicious! I stayed at the Courtyard in downtown Grand Rapids last week and ordered the gluten free “All In” via Uber Eats. I was so impressed and thrilled that it was so hot and fresh when it arrived. It was well-packaged and looked just as good as it tasted! I am especially impressed with their menu that offers so many modifications for food allergies. I look forward to trying this restaurant in person and eating my way through the rest of the menu. Outstanding!!

What a treat! Found it due to a need to be in this section of town. Thrilled with the entire experience! Revitalized neighborhood with lovely new landscaping. Building has so much character with an inside mural, cool brick, simply elegant table decor, and a small private room behind a sliding barn door! It felt like a trendy Chicago spot. Food was excellent. Cannot say enough about the atmosphere, service and food.

Great restaurant offering delicious food. The menu offers many clean eating options and also Keto-friendly meals. Had the Zoodles meal with homemade sausage cream sauce. Modern contemporary coffee breakfast lunch house. Great casual atmosphere, great coffee and cappuccino. Wait staff is phenomenal. Everyone that has waited on me has been absolute top notch. A lot of times you get places like this where the staff is just going through the motions. To me the staff goes way above that by giving you information that you werent expecting. This is a hidden gem just outside of the downtown. That is close enough to get to at breakfast or lunch or for a small meeting.. Becca and her whole crew are absolutely aces and you need to give this place a try. You wont be disappointed

Ive ordered takeout from the new Ada location twice now and it has been fantastic both times! Each time I felt like while browsing the menu that it was simple food and a somewhat limited selection but each time very impressed with the unique flavors in simple dishes! The menu prices are a great value, portions just right and cant wait to be able to try this place in person once it is fully open. Until then, Ill be back for more takeout! Lastly, its hard to get a great idea of the service simply through takeout but each time the person answering the phone was extremely friendly and very accomodating of altering items based on dietary needs.

Ive been here twice. The first time I was told there was no table service, even though everything about the place feels like a full service restaurant. The second time I was told to sit anywhere and someone would be right with me. Im not sure if they have a different service model on different days or they figured out the counter model wasnt working. Other than that the food was fine, the service was fine, etc. Ill probably get asked to meet here again. So Ill keep you posted ...

We live less than a mile from the Ada location. Its a wonderful addition to downtown Ada. Everything Ive ordered from MudPenny has been fantastic! From the chicken salad sandwich to the chocolate chip cookies and iced coffee. Employees are always a joy to interact with as well. Im hooked!

Mudpenny is fantastic! Lots of great vegetarian and vegan options! We ordered skillets and thought it was the perfect amount of food, and walked away very satisfied. Everything was very fresh and well-prepared. Very good coffee too. Chill, modern atmosphere. I think weve found our new go-to breakfast place!

The food here was excellent and very well priced I must admit! Although the “house sodas” honestly just tasted like flavored water more than soda, and were pretty disappointing. The remodel here is well done. This is a great place for a quick bite; keep in mind there is no waiter. I would have given this 4 stars but while we were eating here a month or so ago a centipede-like bug (2inches long) crawled across the floor and into a crack in the wall.

Tired this food at a group orientation where it was catered. It was surprisingly good and seemed to be higher quality than what most places serve in a mass level. I had the Southwest Chicken and the pita bread was soft and chicken didn’t seem fatty/gritty. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something fresh and tasty!

Such a pretty place. I absolutely love the interior decor. The small selection of menu items makes it easy to order. The Cinnamon Roll was fantastic. The service was personal and professional. Great place to have a business meeting without being interrupted with waiters or being eavesdropped by the person sitting behind you. I completely recommend this place.

I visited MudPenny for the first time and was truly taken back at how great of a meal it was. The menu is conveniently broken down for Vegetarians, Vegans, Keto Diet and others. They do not serve alcohol but the banana peanut butter smoothie was better than any beer you could order. They have multiple coffee drinks that will not disappoint as well. We will be returning to MudPenny for another brunch soon and will take some pictures to share!

I visited for the first time on a whim about a month ago. My first delight was in finding that they have several offerings that are specifically keto, including keto pancakes, which are delicious. They also roast their own coffee, and I had one of the best cups of decaf anywhere in town. Prices are reasonable, and while it is order-at-the-counter, not table service, the entire staff is super friendly and helpful.

MudPenny is the best! Ive used them several times for catering and they never disappoint. For any meeting they catered, they were always on time with the correct order. Seems easy, right? No - not many catering companies get it right. :) Ive also been to the shop - so welcoming and cute! The staff is unbelievably kind and not to mention cool. They truly care about each and every customer and each and every order. Highly recommend!

It was also quiet enough to carry on conversation. The customer service was amazing. We were welcomed in and ordering process was explained. The drinks and food came quickly and we kindly checked on a few times throughout our meal. The whole experience was truly a delight.

Wife and I went here for lunch and tried the southwest chicken and kickin jack. Both sandwiches were excellent, and the southwest chicken is one of the better sandwiches I have had in the city. Staff was friendly and served us quickly. We will definitely be back.
