It was so well worth it. The woman here was very kind and the coffee is very delicious. Move over Starbucks! Mayan Buzz Coffee Bar has you beat, hands down! I had a everything bagel with cream cheese,Its devoured. I love their plates here though. Its a great place with great people. Come and enjoy the coolness and refretreats here.
Mayan buzz is one of those coffee shops that just... It has a wonderful vibe, great general culture, and is a fairly comfortable space. I dont go often enough, and that fact alone tells me I enjoy it.
Awesome customer service! The guy with the stache is very friendly and he makes you feel welcome…. Oh yeah, Riley is his name.
Fantastic place! I got a frozen horchata latte and a cheddar herb bagel and both were top notch! If I lived in the area this would definitely be my go to place.
Not only does this coffee shop have a great menu, but the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Thanks for everything!
It was my first time there, and i just loved the friendly staff. While i was there, i had prompt service and delicious food. Plus as an added bonus, they now serve ice cream! Great atmosphere.
A few months ago I used to be a regular, in almost daily, food and coffee were both A+ then but now after the pandemic production quality seems to have went down drastically, I ordered a Denver sandwich which they would make the eggs for in house and now they come in what is now like an egg patty and the onions were just thrown on top instead of being cooked in like they use to, and they didn’t have any of the croissants for them which were usually the best part before. I also got a dark chocolate mocha and it was nothing like it use to be, it was watery and a lot less flavorful and well made as it use to be. I get the pandemic has been hard on a lot of business and I am a service industry worker downtown so I’ve seen it first hand but I’m sad to see the quality go so far down cause it use to be the best cup of coffee in town in my opinion. Also this was all for over 30$ for two cups of coffee and two sandwiches which is so steep.
Excellent service but not so affordable, 5 bucks for a large cappuccino? i guess thats competitive with Starbucks, but a not very strong one at that
Great place. Never too busy where you cant get a seat or have a conversation.
Went in to get tamales. No tamales in stock. Asked for some kind of pastrie to go with coffee. There are none. Only savory flavors which do not jive with sweet coffee...my word of advice...if you are going to serve food in a coffee shop at least have some sweets. And keep tamales on hand because theyre the best. Came all the way downtown on a broken foot specifically to get these tamales! Anyway the service was great but my tummy and taste buds are suffering. Also I feel like there should be some jazz playing. Not elevator jazz but real jazz.
Pretty darn good. try their churro donuts!
The Mayan Mocha is liquid delicious gold!
Just need to warm the hot chocolate to hot not just warm.. other than that Amazing
First time I have heard of a #HOTChocolateFrappe ..... And O.M.G.!!!! That was by far the BEST!!! #HOTCHOCOLATE of my LIFE!! 💯
It has wonderful flavored coffee and they have some delicious food especially made for the cold weather.
This place has heart. its a blend of 90s idea of theming, with bold colors and jungle motifs, and contemporary coffee shop culture. while I personally prefer upscale, minimalist approaches to coffee, they do have a lot of interesting spiced signatures to choose from. I really enjoyed the churro donuts, which the barista made completely to order!
Great coffee an a place to eat ice cream or food. Clean place.
Great Coffee this morning. Thank you.
Forgot my wallet and wanted to use Apple Pay. I was excited because the door said they took all forms of payment including Apply Pay. I ordered my drink and when I tried to pay, the barista said the card reader was broken. I gave him a couple seconds to see if he would give me other options (like wash a few dishes in the back or take down my card number to charge manually) but he just said “sorry.” I said, “okay” and walked away. I’m not 100% sure because people might take advantage of this, but if a form of payment you advertise on your door is broken, you might want to offer a free drink and in return get a glowing review on Google and Facebook.
After a friend invited me here for coffee it has become on of my favorite places to grap a cup of coffee and something to eat. The strawberry banana smoothie and chicken salad sandwich was pretty good today.
They took my favorite thing off the menu but otherwise the tea is still good
Great location! Ill be back
Coffee is nothing incredible and inconsistent (the same drink tastes different depending on who makes it). Parking can occasionally be a challenge. There is a nice environment though. Nothing here is really outstanding, nor is anything incredibly terrible to prevent you from coming.
Always loved this place. Super friendly and excellent drinks with a comfortable vibe.
I love Mayan Buzz!Everyones so nice, on top of their great service. And they remember names and faces. ❤️
The staff are amazing ☕️😌
Very cute and was able to get work done! weird music and the cashiers were a little standoffish, but not rude. loved it highly recommend!
Loving the atmosphere and decor. The coffee is excellent and its a well taken care of shop. I love the cups they use and how they have the layout set up. Their Barista are trained well and look to be very happy working there.
Today was the first..walking distance from work about 3 minutes. Heard it was pretty good and I can confirm my sandwich was great. Not a huge sandwich menu but I have a hard time deciding anyhow so its good for me. Will return and will try a coffee beverage next time. Great addition to the neighborhood.
Dont come here too often, but going to start. They seem to have a pretty wide range of drinks and food options. Drinks only come in one size though.Open mic night group is super friendly! They definitely have a family vibe :)
Every Saturday morning I come here I am always able to find a seat to work. It’s a great atmosphere for finishing grad class assignments. The bagels are absolutely delicious and the chai lattes are great too. Free city parking on weekends! Thanks GR.
The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Pastries and bottled drinks are offered here, making it a convenient pit stop for people going to and from the bus station. Admittedly, I did not try their in-house beverages during my visit.
My wife and I stopped by the Cafe on a Sunday and really liked the place. It had a nice comfortable atmosphere with interesting decor. The staff was very courteous and made very good drinks. I tried the signature Maya Buzz Cappuccino and was delighted by the experience (with cayenne pepper, cinnamon (I think), and some chocolate, not what I was expecting when I ordered it, but quite enjoyable). We grabbed a bagel on our way out and found it to be fresh and delicious. We also appreciated the fact that they use local companies for their supplies, GR Bagels for their baked goods and Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters for their coffee.
Good atmo. Music was quieter/not intrusive like some joints. You can reserve a spot ahead of time for larger group meetings. Nice staff. 43 minimum seating capacity.
This is a great business that cares about the community which is evident through the many drives they have hosted in benefit of those in need. I have been going to this business for a while and the staff are always welcoming. The open mic nights that are hosted on Thursday nights are amazing for anyone who does not have a ton of experience reading poetry or preforming music that they have written. This is a very encouraging environment.
Great coffee, staff always friendly
Good customer service and good coffee
Great atmosphere and delicious food. A tad bit pricey, but its downtown GR, so I get it. Coffee was delicious!
Cozy coffee shop with some food. I was served quickly by a friendly staff member and was comfortable hanging out there for a while. They did some art with my latte foam, too!
This coffee shop is open 24 hours. They are located in a great spot downtown right across from a brewery and a few bars. This is the perfect place for late night conversation. They also make their own veggie cream cheese.
Really nice little coffee shop. Great amount of plugs for your computer. A bit crowded but not overwhelming. Mayan coffee with the cayenne pepper was very tasty. Clean bathrooms. All around good experience.
Ive known the owner, Marco, for nearly 30 years. Hes a great man and while Im not a huge coffee guy, I like the coffee here. You can also find good food here as well.
I have visited the buzz in the past, coffee early in the morning I like on, Friday nights for a couple of pick me up espressos always perfect. I have sat on meeting and always have been a happy customer. Untill tonight Thursday night I purposely visited to listen to the open mic artists. I arrived order a pot of chamomile and found myself a sit to wait for my tea and the performances to start, but this was a game changer. As each artists spoke, sang, expressed their minds through art it became clear Mayan Buzz is much more than coffee. Is community, a safe place where one can be; without concern just he one-self.
I come here all the time for a great mocha or an americano, and a croissant sandwich. The food and coffee is pretty well-priced. It also makes for a great study spot since they stay open pretty late on the weekends. Also Thursday nights is Open Mic night, which I highly recommend for anyone that wants to experience some great work!
During a long layover in Grand Rapids MI on my greyhound travel I had stopped in. This is a relaxing atmosphere and the Club sandwich on a croissant is the bomb. I dont give many 5 star ratings but this place will be visited again if I ever have another extensive layover in G.R. . Well worth what I paid in total with the pour over coffee and experience all around.
Great coffee!
My dirty chai was amazing and so was the service. The owner really made us feel welcomed and safe in his place. Will definitely return!
Both Google and website indicate a 7:00 am start time today. Not so as of 7:15. I think Meijer has a sale on alarm clocks this week.
Great coffees, teas and staff. Always friendly and welcoming. And love all the art always on display.
The atmosphere is okay, seats were not terribly comfortable and the music is too loud and lively for all the talking and sounds of machines....I sound old, lol, but I dont like hearing music so loud despite the fact that my headphones are on listening to a webinar. The coffee was just okay, but they have a nice variety of drinks and I like that they are so nicely posted! Ill try something else next time.
I heard about this new 24/7 coffee shop in town called Mayan Buzz from a friend so we decided to check it out. Marcos customer service is excellent. He treated us with respect and the space is a good working environment. I tried a special made Costa Rican coffee pour over and the hot chocolate, both have a unique flavor at a rather affordable price compared with other coffee shops. I plan to be here often!
Love the refill on coffee best part but great workspace areas
Great atmosphere, and in general a great place to get some work done.
Great staff and even better food. They have homemade quality food that doesnt leave you with the fast food gut rot feeling. The best part is they are open 24 hours so its great for those second and third shifters or the college student burning the books all night.
This is a small locally-owned Cafe with a very friendly staff and a very unique variety of drinks. They also have a great-tasting variety of bagels and food. I will say their prices are a bit expensive, but it is locally owned and the food does taste good.
I love the environment and everyone Ive met that works here is extremely friendly. They have good food and amazing drinks. I definitely have and will continue to recommend this place.
For someone who cant consume eggs - theres just one measly option. And it isnt priced too well. The coffee was mediocre. And the service too. Im sad that Bridge Street couldnt find a cafe that served up food as awesome as its produce.
Favorite coffee spot in GR! The employees are awesome and make you feel very welcome, and the coffee is great! Highly recommend if youre looking for a new spot to meet with friends or get caught up on work.
The owner is a very very terrible person
Food bad. Coffee good.
Neat little spot in Grand Rapids - pleasant staff, clean facility and restrooms, and fast wifi.Would definitely go again!
The food, beverages, and service were wonderful! The barista was one of the nicest Ive ever known.
The food is good the coffee is great thats the best I can say for
My hangout spot. Best coffee great service and the best bathrooms. Seriously go check out the bathrooms they are fabulous
Very chill nice ambience... U can take care of any business there
Such a fun place for coffee. Good coffee. Lots to look at. Comfortable seating. Great barrista.
Best coffee in town 🥰
Amazing coffee shop. The coffee tastes delicious and the environment is great to relax, study, or meet with friends
Our favorite GR coffee shop. Friendly, good light food choices, great coffee. Try the May an Mocha. Outstanding!
So good and great service. 2nd Sunday in a row here. Very busy! Need to staff with one more worker. This gal is working her tail off!!!
Friendly service and great drinks. I only gave 3 stars because I thought it could have been cleaner. The floor looked as though it had not been mopped in some time. There was a large amount of dirt on the floor by the service counter.
Not too hyped or crowded. Bit pricy but offers student discount. Friendly and hip decoration. The bathroom sink look like the Grand Canyon. Good place to study. Free wifi
Great place to sit and work!
My son and I live in Phoenix, AZ and one of our favorite cafes makes an excellent horchata latte. While we were visiting GR we discovered this place also makes them, so we tried it and were unfortunately disappointed to find out they don’t actually make them with horchata but some type(s) of syrup that are supposed to taste like horchata.
Staff was super friendly, quick and knowledgeable. This was my first visit and won’t be my last. Thanks for the tasty java!
Very good coffee. Excellent place to relax and study.
I didnt realize this coffee shop was here, but I stopped in randomly and I love it!
I love this place! The quality and size of the products for which you pay is a steal at the prices they are. There is a great selection of both beverages and food. The atmosphere is one in a million and the staff has always been very cordial.
The coffee shop is a nice place to study. Plenty of outlets for the dying computer. I always order a dirty chai wherever I go and I was not a fan of theirs. It definitely has a licorice tone which I am not a fan of. Reminds me of some unfortunate German nights involving Jagermeister.
The Denver sandwich was just ok but the butter beer latte was stupendous
Nice atmosphere, good coffee, ok food, no real snack items to speak of. Always streaming news on a giant TV for some reason which is obnoxious.
Great coffee, some of the best ive ever had!
Nice atmosphere. Good sandwich. Service okay.
Delicious fresh coffee... Great seating to hang out or study.
Nice, warm staff, good products and a chill atmosphere. Love this place!
Good place to study our work. Good service.
Nice cafe near the Greyhound Bus Station. Great coffee and frindly service.
Good coffee. They are open from 6;00A.M until midnight. Super nice employees.
It was quiet and warm. The staff was friendly and informative. Good place to read, study, or play a board game.
Nice atmosphere. Good coffee and tea. WiFi was spotty.
