Smooth and delicious latte, at the perfect temperature, with beautiful latte art. Seriously and consistently good stuff. Service was friendly and the location is just great. There are lots of semi-indoor and outdoor seatings. Two more reason to love Espresso Vivace: they support and celebrate local communities, and they have Sea Wolf croissants!
I love both the Broadway locations a d the South Lake Union stores. The drinks are always on point. The snacks rule! The staff are friendly and fast. Please remember to tip. Mask required. Credit/Debit card only No Cash taken at this time. They do provide hand sanitizer to help keep you safe.
I ordered a caramel iced latte and the taste of the espresso is unmatched, really. So rich and full. One of the best coffees Ive ever had. I will say the serving is small for the price, however worth it. I appreciated every single sip. And beyond that. The service was very good
The best coffee in the world. The white velvet matcha also changed my life. Don’t miss it.
Got an iced americano. Pleasant staff, coffee was okay, really like the dark interior (feels calm, great place to read a book or get some work done on a cold day). It did look like indoor seating was unavailable. They have several outdoor tables though.
Best espresso in Seattle. Some staff can be rather discourteous. Be sure to request your preferred sugar when you order or you will be scolded by the guy in the hat. Five stars for the coffee. 0 stars for the cranky barista.
4 5 stars. One of the best places on the planet to get your caffeine on! This is one of Seattles most storied coffee peddlers and the owner is one of the worlds foremost experts on espresso culture. Great local pastry, great baristas and, yes, a half star off for Seattle-y service that is always fine, if very, ummm, Scandinavian. Then again, its as authentic to here as can be. Just, dont expect Italian warm & fuzzy excitement. A must visit. Better yet, hit their original historic stand just down the block and across the street ;-)
I have been regular customer since 2009. Their Dolce is my favorite. I see many people comment that latte tastes like just milk. Vivace. If you guys see my review, please consider reducing the amount of milk for 12oz latte. I know you guys do ristretto shot but if you fully fill 12oz cup with milk, single ristretto is not enough. People really don’t care much about whether their 12oz cup is completely full or not. They care more about the rich flavor.
Do yourself a favor and order a latte Nico style. It will change your life. The caramel latte is amazing as well, but Nico style is something else. The baristas are very cool.
We will be back! My daughter and I tried Espresso Nico 8oz.which was sooo good! It has orange, vanilla, and spice goodness! We shared a huge oats, nuts, & chocolate chunk cookie - next time will have it warmed up if possible. The staff are friendly and the place is clean. Outdoor seating at Bistro tables.
They keep the doors open and dont allow visitors to stay inside the café during covid. Two lines for ordering, spots on the ground direct you where to stand for social distancing. Despite the ongoing pandemic, staff still manage to deliver the coffee house experience through genuine, albeit quicker, chats and consistently well-crafted beverages. Cant wait to be able to sit down and have the complete experience again :)
Amazing coffee and lots of indoor seating to get some work done. They even have seats next to open windows so it’s great during the Covid times.
Excellent coffee and sweet flat bread. The place smells heavenly of fresh coffee as soon as you step in!
Super nice staff but the coffee tastes like milk. Happened a few times now. I may also just be used to starbucks which is a wild amount of caffeine.
Cappuccino is descent, atmosphere is nice to sit and do work or even enjoy the people passing by but RUDE staff. Visited this place a couple of times while in Seattle for work, and each time I left feeling extremely uncomfortable. The baristas are rude and condescending. Do better.
Customer Service: 5 starsVibe: 5 starsCoffee: 2 StarsAs a visitor had a very high expectation as someone who loves coffee (and I am talking about black coffee, not latte or other types of blended drinks). I was so looking forward to getting a black and Americano that are absolutely fantastic. It was very bland...tasted like coffee flavored water pretty much. I love the cafe vibe and the baristas are absolutely sweet.I am not sure if I went in on a wrong day when a barista was not in a great mood or not feeling well, but I was very disappointed about coffee.
Do visit this place if you are looking for a hot cup of goodness in the Capitol Hill area. It is a refreshing change from so many Starbucks around. I tried their white velvet beverage for the first time and what a pleasant surprise it was! It has just the perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess, so hits just the right sweet spot for me.Although it doesnt have a strong coffee flavor, so if you like your coffee that way, maybe try something else.
Easily the most wonderful cup of espresso on Broadway, maybe second only to Vivace walk up window if youre in a hurry. I dont know why they dont serve a 16oz, but love this place none the less ❤💜💙💚💛
One of the best coffee shops in Seattle. They always deliver a consistent cup of coffee with great customer service
If youre from the area you already know this place dwarfs most other coffee shops in the area when it comes to quality. If you are new or just passing through, do yourself a favor and pop in. Their cappuccinos are incredible and foamed to perfection every time.
Iced latte was really good and they sell cold brew growler style! I recommend it not just to support local business but their service and drinks are great. I need to go back to try their baked goods!
This place has an amazing coffee selection and they made my coffee exactly how I like! The people are friendly and they have outdoor seating!
From the other reviews, it seems like this place has a pretty legendary reputation for good espresso, so I had to check it out. I ordered the mocha, and indeed it was probably the best tasting mocha Ive ever had. There are quite a few great coffee joints sprinkled throughout Seattle, and this seems to be near the top of that heap. Ill have to go back to try more items off the menu, but Im quite pleased after my inaugural visit.
Good espresso coffee ☕.
Always been a fan of their coffee. Excited indoor seating will be opening up again.
Seattle has a lot of places to grab an espresso.. it has a handful of places where espresso is well crafted...Vivace is one of Seattles best
A fantastic stop for great coffee in a great city. Don’t miss if you are in the neighborhood.
Some of the correctly snobbiest lattes of all time. Bravo!
Think Ill go somewhere with oat or coconut milk next time I want an overpriced cold brew and pastries. Also, if the keys are just sitting out right by the bathroom, what is the point?
Went here while on vacation because I watched Life According to Jeff Goldblum! Best tasting and prettiest coffee I had on my whole trip!!
I asked feaux-hawk barista how much the scones are and he said I dunno like 4 or 5 dollars. I did not purchase a scone.
Coffee was great, clean restrooms, and beautiful latte art. Loved being able to sit outside and distance from others
We stayed a few blocks from here and where our hotel offered breakfast for a pretty penny, I remembered seeing this little coffee shop is mentioned, and I am so glad I did! They offer all the traditional breakfast items, but they do have nice nutritional options too. I wouldnt hesitate in stopping by here no matter what time of day!
Great cafe with good coffee. Unfortunately theyre still unable to do indoor seating, which is such a bummer as this is a great place to plunk down with your laptop and feel the buzz of Cap Hill
Regular ice in your iced drink means your cup is so full of ice it doesn’t move when you shake it. 5$ cold brew for half a cup of actual coffee😂
Words cant describe the cafe verde and the americano. Its just so good, my partner said that they havent had a better americano in their life. Gotta go back there for the secret
Good place. But they don’t have even mask for customers.
The place that almost single-handedly brought specialty espresso to America. Vivace stands apart from the rest of the crowd with their focus on northern Italian style espresso, a rarity in western culture today.David Schomer is a bit of a legend in the coffee community after all of the innovation and extraction science he has pioneered. Even if youve never heard the name, youve experienced the ripples of his work; Latte art, well-extracted espresso, and nearly every commercial machine youve had a shot from has a PID controller that wouldnt be there without Schomer.Lets talk about the coffee: Hands down, this is the most flavorful espresso I have had. Combine an already outstanding shot with beautifully textured milk and youve got the best cappuccino youll ever have. Other menu stand-outs include the Cafe Nico, a breve macchiato made with orange zest and vanilla, and the White Velvet, a white chocolate latte.Whether youre a straight espresso drinker or have a sweet tooth, Vivace will have something for you. If youre in Seattle and you love coffee, this is a MUST.
Good latte 👍
Absolutely the best coffee in Western Washington! My wife and I come here when we visit Seattle. I love how the baristas take time and care when pulling their shots. Its awesome. Experiencing Seattle begins with a Vivace white velvet mocha with raspberry!
The cafe Nico was amazing.
Great coffee!!! Also good mochas
Long serving espresso bar/shop in Seattle. Everytime I come to Seattle I try to go here. Any coffee shop that has survived under the glaring eye of the megacorp of coffee has to be doing something right. This day I had a macchiato, my friends had hot chocolate and matcha with milk. All quickly done and freshly prepared. Consistent milk froth without being scalded. Consistent crema on the coffee shot. All in all still impressive.
Good vibes, exceptional espresso
The best coffee in the world. I made a special trip back to capital hill just for this coffee.
Its always an incredible coffee experience at Vivace! Perfectly prepared espresso each time!
Their coffee is very fine and its very cheap! Theyve got a menu, too, so you can mix it up with your coffee. The room is a little small, but it can hold a lot of people. A must visit, guys!
All the quality of Italian coffee with the artistry and finess of no other place on Earth. The coffee is sublime, the profession is endlessly a pursuit of perfection, the professionals are exceedingly qualified at craft and service... This is the mecca of Seattle coffee in its most pure and unfranchised form (though they do have three locations with about 10 blocks on each other).
Ive been here a handful of times. Great service! The guys here are really personable and the coffee is great! My macchiatos are always perfect! Prices are average for the area. $5 and change for 12 oz, etc. Highly recommend. Theyre on a busy street, and the crowd here is very young. Everyone is welcome, though!
They roast their own beans, and have specialty roasts one sundays. Beans to go and the friendliest baristas
All baristas are exceptional. Their coffee is great and they have pastries from Sea Wolf!
One of the best, if not THE best coffee in the city!
Nico style latte tastes like Christmas in the best, always seasonally appropriate way. Also, saw an employee sprint down the sidewalk after a customer to return her forgotten credit card. Great people & great espresso.
The coffee is fine. The people are sour. Not worth it when there are so many other great coffee shops around. Try Joe Bar for good coffee AND nice people.
A Seattle institution and damn good coffee!
Their caramel latte is so good! Their little caramel candies are also delicious and so worth it. All their coffee is delicious and they make great foam and latte art. I also love getting their tea because it comes in such a cool looking device that they steep it in and is equally as good as the coffee. When the weather is nice, sitting outside is a great way to enjoy the neighborhood and do some people watching. My favorite coffee place in the neighborhood.
Amazing mocha, cappuccino, and croissant.
Great place to work, with good coffee, tea, and biscotti. The quiet room is indeed wonderfully quiet, so well insulated from the main room its shocking. And they have all-gender restrooms. _And_ the signs in the all-gender restrooms are properly hyphenated (the first in my time in Seattle). Ill come back here any day.
I love it here. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Awesome coffee drinks.
I love their cappuccino! Just perfect
Some of the best coffee Ive had in the Seattle area. The vibe carries the history of the shop, espresso culture, and the local area, rolled into one excellent shop. Toss in some single origin recommendations for the patrons, as well as an exceptional and mild mocha, and you have a great place to imbibe coffee. Didnt eat any of the snack, looked to be a small set of pastries.
Nice decor and great staff
Best coffee in Seattle!
Really good espresso that gets right to the point.
