I just had a phenomenal shopping experience with Ryan Dong while picking up my brand new 2021 4Runner. Ryan was attentive, informative, diligent and most importantly transparent. There was no smoke and mirrors no distrust just an honest conversation about the vehicle I was looking for what made sense to me financially. He gave me options and worked with me every step of the way. At no point did I feel that he was on anybodies side other than mine and my families.
Today we were unpleasantly shocked with the service in this dealership.We are existing customers of Toyota but usually shop in a different dealership, today we decided to save some time since the maintenance service location is great.We were looking for a very particular car to buy. After we called this dealership we’ve got a confirmation that they have 3 vehicles in stock. We chose the color and got a sales agent Leo assigned to us. We were asked to fill the credit form online at home to speed up the process (without even seeing the vehicle). We did that since we were ready to take a car home tonight.(I know that was not a good idea to do). We confirmed that we are heading to the dealership and got a positive reply from Leo.After the forms were signed in the dealership office with finance manager Jacky they said somebody just took the car for a test drive. (Ok, why would you do this?) Ok, I can wait for them to return. Then 10 minutes after we were told that the car is sold to the person who had a test drive. Since when do you sell a car to a person who did a test drive rather than to a person who already did and run the application for this car? Leo said he doesn’t want it to be like this and asked to see the other color that they have (which I did not like but ok). We agreed to do that, we applied and ran the whole process already. After we were waiting 15 min for another car to check, we’ve told that the second car was sold too (lol) but they will have a car for us in a month so we can purchase it and have it later. What a joke, huh? Btw you can have a couple of BMWs or a Porsche for the monthly rate they asked for with a very good credit score.It is such a shame to receive very poor service from Toyota. I highly recommend doing business with somebody else if you value your time.

Leo contacted me about my inquiry for a 2021 RAV4 Hybrid. I was not expecting it to go so smoothly, as this was my first time purchasing a vehicle! We discussed the price of the vehicle over email as well as the price breakdown. Leo made this purchase super straight forward and was honest about the prices when I came in to sign all the paperwork. There was no dishonesty, like the other Toyota dealerships in the Bay Area, all the numbers we agreed to online were there on paper, and I am now a proud owner of a 2021 RAV4 XSE! I was a little concerned driving all the way to San Francisco from Fremont to purchase a vehicle, but it was absolutely worth it. I couldnt have asked for a better car buying experience from Leo. Thank you SF Toyota and Leo for a fantastic vehicle and car buying experience! If I ever need to buy another vehicle in the future, I would be happy to make the drive.

Hmm this is really my first time leaving a review and I was tempted to just ignore and leave it as it is but I just thought to share my experience with some of y’all . So my parents and I went to look for this used Toyota Rav4 and it looked pretty decent in the picture and had no noticeable damages. However, when we arrived, the guy brought another car for test drive saying the car that he brought us is pretty much similar to the one we’re trying to get. So we didn’t care much and drove that car but I didn’t like the fact that I’m test driving a car that I’m not actually gonna think of buying so we decided to come the next day. We went again and finally get to test drive the car that we were actually planning to buy. The car had a big shiny paint on door trim and had asked for some discount coz it is very noticeable but the guy was so persistent with his price and didn’t even give a few $$ off. Didn’t even liked the way he was talking to us and was giving off that cold vibe coz he had other customers. So it was such a rush and the guy didn’t seem interested in making a deal with us. So I decided not to get the car and then the guy started being friendly and was saying he will wash and the car. Like I can do that myself and I’m asking for price difference. Well Luckily I found the same exact car at Lexus dealership in concord and it was already $1000 down compare to the one in SF with same mileage and had zero damage. We even got another $500 off so I highly recommend u guys to look around more coz this place doesn’t negotiate on their prices and the customer service sucks! Byeeeee

I dont normally leave reviews, and in fact - this is the first Google review Ive ever left - but beware! I brought my car in to have a recalled part replaced and it drove fine there. Didnt think anything of it. When it was returned to me - my alignment was abutting on comically off. Drove it back, and instead of making it right and fixing their blunder - they charged me for a front end alignment and almost didnt do it because I didnt have new tires which they tried to sell me on as well.Choose an independent instead of this shop if at all possible.UPDATE: After posting underneath here to make it right. They did no such thing. In fact, the tenor of the conversations were accusatory on their behalf. Ended up having to fight the charge with my bank. Do not recommend!
After spending some time car shopping I went to SF Toyota. I initially met with Anthony Hom, who was great about showing me a vehicle I was interested in. I did not end up purchasing that vehicle. However, later found an Ad for another vehicle I was interested in. The Ad was listed by Jacky Ma (it contained lots of information and photos). From the first phone call, all the way to the purchase of my new Vehicle, it was a 5 out of 5 start experience. Jacky was patient (with both myself and my 2yr old), informative, and was engaging and kind to my daughter. I am truly happy to have purchased the car from Jacky, and he is a great asset to the Toyota Team.

While the SUV I purchased here is great.. I also purchased Kahu to track & keep my car safe. This was NOT a cheap purchase. My Kahu has not worked since August. I discovered this and immediately contacted the appropriate parties. Toyota representatives have been telling me theyd call me back for a MONTH. They never do. Theyve taken zero steps to resolve the issue nor have they communicated in a professional manner. When you sell a faulty product you take responsibility resolve the issue and move on. As I stated, this was NOT a cheap product. If I were to skip a car payment Toyota would rightfully hurt my credit. Now Toyota should do the right thing and reimburse a paying customer.
Stopped this morning to get info on the Prius Prime (which is a really nice car). Ron was amazing in answering all my questions and making me feel welcome even though he knew I lived in Chicago and wouldn’t by here.
I purchased my car five years ago from here and just recently paid it off. Unfortunately, the office here filled out my registration paperwork wrong (put my last name as my first name and first name as last name, also misspelled my name) despite having all the other paperwork correct. Also, after paying off my car, they put my name and old address as the lienholder which means I never got my title. Long story short, I had to take two days unpaid off to deal with the issue at the DMV due to poor attention to detail on paperwork.I would have given this place four stars as I had a pleasant experience purchasing the vehicle but have had issues since then.
These guys did a great job. Ryan Askew was terrific and Russ helped, both knowledgeable and professional. No BS, very responsive, and Ryan drove the car to my house on a Friday night at 7 pm to make sure it would go up my steep driveway if I bought it. Their price was lower, as well--with no haggling. They found the car that I wanted (at another dealership) and had it on site in 24 hours. I went to several other Toyota places and these guys were far better.

Our experience working with SF Toyota was fantastic. Working with Ryan Dong and the rest of the team at SF Toyota made the car buying experience more like a pleasant daydream rather than the stressful nightmare we all know it could be. After a phone call and a couple email exchanges with Ryan, my wife and I found ourselves saying yes to the purchase of a new Highlander. Ryan was able to give us a great price and made the whole process so easy.In a nutshell we were given a great price and great service. Stay away from this dealership! go to an small town one where they will be happy to take your business and care a little about you as a customer, every single person in this dealership does not really care at all about providing an acceptable service, they will lie to you about discounts and bonuses in order to put you in a room and make you sign as fast as you can and after that they will be unhappy if you mention those promises and act like they never heard a thing, you have been warned.

Waste of time. We drove there 3 times trying to finalize things and then they change things up without even letting us know. would give 0 starts of possible, the lady there in charge didnt even give a regard to aknowedege the mistake very clearly on their part

Service is not the best, just BAD.They Rip U off with da LABOR CHARGE of $120.00 regardless of the time actually spent on da car for Tune-up or other things.They also don’t explain anything to U, as far Service & OPTIONS - Standard or Primium PARTS - before starting da inspection on my car for Tune-up & such.This was my last time @ at 1701 Van Ness St. location for any SERVICEs or Specially if I were to PURCHASE a New Car.My best bet is to find another DEALERSHIP outside of SAN FRANCISCO COUNTY.San Francisco SUCKS for SERVICE never mind da location. What made me choose working with Ryan was not only the excellent care for the client but also his 100% honesty about all the costs whereas I had car dealers from other dealerships just give me *fake* low prices, lying about disposition/car return fee being included in the 1-pay (paid upfront for 24 months) price of the leased car. So once more if you want somebody to give you the best deal, genuinely care and be honest with you work with Ryan Dong. He and his team: Phil Yue, Business manager and Michael La, Sales manager worked together as a team giving me their 110%. They all cared and made a genuine personal connection with me. A car lease from SF Toyota was a truly wonderful experience where Ryan, Phil and Michael made it as painless as possible...actually they made it a really fun and positive experience. I felt really well taken care of before the sale, during and afterwards (Ryan contacted me already few times to make sure that Im comfortable with my new car and hes there available to help even though he already made a sale). I was on a road trip in my 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback with 1000 miles on the car. There was a loud tapping noise coming from the engine. So loud I could even hear it over the radio. Called a few Toyota dealers to see if someone could look at the car to tell me if the noises coming from my brand new car were dangerous. And I actually spent about 2 hours of my time specifically driving to this dealership. Once I get there the service writer is saying they would need to keep the car all day and he’s not even sure if someone could even look at it till Monday. Being that I was on a road trip. If I let the dealer keep my car three days that’s a big issue. They could not even get a tech to come look at my 1000 mile car for 30 seconds. I ended up taking it to another dealer in south san fransisco. And they got a tech to come and look. They looked at it for quite a while. They are saying my engine needs to be replaced on my 1000 mile corolla. They also said it was extremely irresponsible for the other dealer to let me drive that car out of that service department in San fransisco. They were a actually really shocked that this dealer let me leave. Even asking me about exactly what they said multiple times. Because if the engine would have failed with that knocking sound the front tires can lock up. Even on the freeway.

I traded in my car on March 30th, 2016. Today is April 21, 2016 and the auto loan for my previous car has not been paid off. It impacts my credits and they dont even pick up the phone and never return my call. This experience is REALLY REALLY disappointing!!!!!
[from Dec 2006]I had a very pleasant interaction with Chip Fong at SF Toyota, who took me for a test drive in a 2007 Prius recently. He was very friendly, helpful, and totally no-pressure. The antithesis of the sleazy high-pressure sales folks Ive seen and heard about elsewhere.Sadly, SF Toyota didnt have the models in stock with the colors I wanted, so I didnt even bother asking him for a quote (why waste his time), but I do feel somewhat bad for not buying a car from him.
We were referred by a family member to go talk, test drive and get a quote from SF Toyota. We worked with Mike La and Steven Kwan. The experience we had with them was great! We did a test drive on a similar car, sat down for a couple of hours looking at all the options that we wanted and he gave us the specs and price. They found our specific car (it was just built in Japan and on the boat) and were willing to reserve it for us. It took us a week or so to make a decision and once we did, they immediately reserved the car for us. There was no pressure, no haggling of the price and when the car came in, they called us and wanted to know when we could come in to pick up the car. Both Mike and Steven wanted to be at the dealership to make sure there were no surprises.When we went to check out the car for the first time, we spent an hour ohhhing and ahhhing over the new car, getting a tutorial of all the new technology, and spent a couple of hours for the financing portion of the transaction. Overall, it was one of the smoothest transactions weve ever had considering what an expensive purchase it was.Mike and Steven were both friendly and professional and made us feel comfortable that we were making our decision in our timeline.Initially, we were researching cars and a lot of other dealerships were emailing and giving us offers. In the end, working with Mike and Steven at SF Toyota was the right decision for us. I would highly recommend visiting SF Toyota!

Ive been around Car Dealers my whole life and worked in cust serv for 10 yrs; these guys know how to close deals that will leave both parties happy. I wish I could have SF Toyota Scion service my new little lady and thats when you know a Sales Team is doing things right!

I never thought buying a new car could be so fun. J.R. Frialde was an absolute pleasure to work with. Never were we faced with the what will it take for me to get you in the car routine... he was calm, cool, and collected the entire time. J.R. even drove cars to our house to check out... how awesome is that?!?We started shopping for the RAV4, which was a little too youthful for my parents taste. We bounced from dealership to dealership trying on 15 different cars for size. I kept coming back to J.R. at SF Toyota, checked out the Venza and fell in love. My Mom was not feeling the dark color and J.R. (along with his great manager Mike) found a lighter color car and had it delivered to the dealer the next day. Did I mention that this was on July 4th... even with the holiday rush, this entire team of professionals gave us the time and attention we needed and made us feel 100% comfortable with buying from them. So we did.The finance manager, Jim, was great. He got us lined up with a no-nonsense deal and we were out the door in like 40 minutes. Super bad customer service, we were going with the intention of buying a car for many deals that there are at this time, we went in and there were only two more clients and many workers on their computers, we waited about 30 minutes and nobody greeted us, nobody told us that He was going to attend us, nobody bothered to ask us absolutely anything !!! It is definitely not to go back and look elsewhere ...
The service was not that bad, but the service was more expensive than in any other dealer. In addition, the vehicle was delivered dirtier than when it arrived.
