I reached out to Volkswagen of San Francisco to inquire about the new VW ID 4 electric SUV. Justin Potthoff their sales manager reached out to me immediately. Over the next couple of days Justin worked with me over email to put together a fair deal on the vehicle. He was always upfront and honest about the situation and communicated clearly what they could and could not do. I have dealt with many dealerships that weren’t transparent with their customers, it was refreshing to work with one that was straightforward and honest.

Realized I never wrote a Google review for Simon Calimlim, who is, to date, the best car salesperson Ive ever worked with. He genuinely wants to help his customers get into a car they love, and I super appreciate that approach.Two years ago, when I walked into this dealership, Simon was incredibly patient with my questions and honest in his responses regarding a regular Golf vs. a GTI. He spent a good two hours just waiting for me hemming and hawing, and doing comparisons on his computer (Im so sorry for being THAT customer).I walked into the dealership with no intention of buying, just looking. But Simons patience and willingness to work with me to find what I wanted resulted in me walking out around 5-6 hours later (yeah...I took forever to decide) with a lease signed and assured me my new car will be ready for me when I was ready to go pick it up in a couple of weeks.After the sale, Simon was super responsive to all questions that popped up later. He even responded when I reached out 2 years later to inquire about trading in my Golf for a GTI! (Sadly, they had no GTIs in inventory, or I wouldve just given Simon my money and be done with it.)Anyway, ask for Simon Calimlim. Hes great, and I plan to go back after my GTI lease is up and work with him again on either 1) buying a new car or 2) leasing a new car.Thanks again Simon!

I was very pleased with our experience in purchasing our new Atlas! We are from out of town and I was able to complete the transaction from home. We drove into Volkswagen San Francisco and were quickly greeted by our salesman, signed a couple of documents, given the keys to our Atlas, and we were off! It was a pleasant drive in too! Ive bought quite a bit of new vehicles, and Ill definitely reach out to SF Volkswagen when its time to get my daughters a vehicle.

I rarely write public reviews, but let me share our pre-sale experience and our negative post-sale experience. It was all wonderful up to the point of closing the sale, but since then we have been dealing with terrible customer experience even for very simple issues.We bought our car on September 15th, today is December 1st and we are still waiting for the second key. Apparently a car ran over the key the day the car was going to be delivered to us (which by the way, it was delivered +2 hours later than the time they committed to) After that incident, we took the car without the second key, they told us they would let us know when the key was ready to send, and theyd ask for the address (since at the same time we were moving from our apartment) Like a couple of weeks later and without notice, a package arrived to the old address, for which we didnt have access to anymore. We told UPS to return it to the sender, and got in touch with VW to give them the right address. Since then, its been probably around 15 attempts of communication for getting the second key. Half our messages we never got an answer to them, the other half we were told they are working on it. Of course, forget about ever getting a call from them to apologize, that would be too much of an ask. Fact of the matter is after 75 days we still dont have the second key. We have been patient and seeking understanding for the first 45 days, but even after elevating the tone and escalating at the 45 days mark, nothing really seemed to change. We are now basically hoping we can get a second key before the end of the year. I have bought a few cars during my lifetime and I have never seen a dealer dropping the ball like this.

Salesperson was very pushy dont let them check your credit if you dont plan to buy bring your own Finance. Bad location no where to park. If you have a problem talk to the owner hes pretty cool. If you dont like the salesman dont deal with them. Tell the owner your problems.

I have been in sales for over a decade and I can tell you that James is not a salesperson. he is there to help, he wants you to find the vehicle and the deal you are looking for.Him and his finance manager worked with me to structure a deal that made sense for my finances while also getting me into the car I wanted. Quick, fast, free car washI sadly lost my keys and was demoted to using the valet key for a month. After many weeks of contemplating whether or not to get the $135 remote key I finally caved.Plus they answered my great questions about if the Honda S2000 was still in stock and what structure do most leases have.They also had a case of Honda branded water ~I noticed the service counter is pretty expensive but thats why you go to places like Firestone.Now I can finally lock/open my car without opening a finger

Service department is terrible. This is the third time I’ve been here for service and every time I’ve had to stay here the entire day when they have told me it would only be 1-2 hours. The service rep was not very nice and he withheld info about my car when I kept asking for clarification. The prices are also outrageous

Really great experience. I walked in based on a car I saw online. I didnt like it when I got there but they spent hours looking for just the right car for me. In what was supposed to be just a test drive visit, now is a waiting game for my new car to be delivered. Steve was awesome. He didnt pressure me at all. He just let me and my husband (on text via a work trip thousands of miles away) figure out what was the perfect car. He was extremely patient, and completely transparent. He ran many quotes just so we could make an informed decision while comparing the different models and options. We ended up talking ourselves into the upgrades!We were also using a rental because some totaled our Jetta. They gave us a loaner for the 12 days until our new car was arriving. Amazing service!Ive experienced many car salespeople in my life, by far the best one!Thank you!

I had no intention in buying a new car for another 1-2 years... But last week when the transmission on my 2005 Mazda 3s decided to get sick and cost a whopping $5,400 to repair, I decided that I had no other choice but to trade it in and get a new car.I immediately went straight over to the Royal Automotive Group and spoke with Junior. He quickly told me about the current incentives for trading in a Mazda for a Mazda, took a look at my car and gave me a good trade in value. He definitely listened to all of my concerns and answered every single question that I had. The sales department is antisemetic and you obviously horrible.I felt VERY uncomfortable throughout the process.I never told the sales man that I was Jewish. He kept bringing it up and I kept dismissing it. He kept at it and made me feel so uncomfortable. I wanted to work with someone else but when I tried speaking with someone, I was redirected back to the salesman. He didnt stop bothering me the entire time. It was the worst experience Ive ever had. I felt frozen the entire time. I would never purchase anything from them.

Royal Motors was great. I had an issue with my low tire pressure sensor and pulled in without an appointment. Instead of telling me I needed an appointment or making me wait, the service manager put on a pair of gloves and fixed the problem for me himself. I was on my way again in five minutes. I was impressed!

I was in desperate need of having my VW Tiguan serviced for a reason that makes my car unsafe to drive. I called this dealership several times, leaving several messages, over the course of several weeks -- in varying degrees of desperation -- and not a single person returned my phone call. Not even to leave me a voicemail explaining that they were obviously disinterested in helping me.Ive owned VWs all my life, Ive lived all over the country and Ive never been so disappointed, or afronted, before. I live in SF, will continue to own VW for the rest of my life, and I will never use this dealership. Ever.

I’ve never had such a horrible experience buying a new car (I’ve bought about 20). The sales staff was demeaning - there were issues with my car that they refused to believe - and were insulting. ‘They’ refers to 4 people I interacted with - not just one.
