Im not only a Subaru DIY guy but Im also a Subaru Ambassador and this is THE ONLY place I will go when I cant solve the problem myself. They have serviced my primary ride (2007 Subaru Outback XT Limited) last year for worn out rear wheel bearings for an unbeatable price. Dan is extremely honest, upfront, FASTER than anyone else in Reno and fair in the pricing. As of right now my primary ride is back to get her 105,000 mile timing belt change and I have no doubt that they will let me get another 105,000 miles out of her. When I pick her up tomorrow I will post more on how that repair went with photos.Well its a day later (wouldve been quicker but like the rest of us I too work during the day) and when I picked up my ride after work I wasnt surprised at the workmanship that was put into my car. Nothing but excellence. As for my secondary and third rides when they have a problem that I cannot fix Ill be sure to send them to Dan and his team as well.

First, I should say my auto knowledge is extremely limited. I called Valhalla for a quote on new ball joints on my truck. I read that they commonly start falling apart as they go up in miles and I have been abusing my truck recently.I spoke to Brad about the quote. He was extremely patient and took time out of his day to help me learn about my vehicle. He saved me a bunch of money and I will be calling Valhalla for all my future repairs.

Ive been going here for a long time. Back in the day, Dan was the only place I could get to return my call with a quote for some work O needed. He then exceeded my expectations and proved to be an honest man and a capable mechanic. He gives quotes that are fairly priced and stands behind his work. He is clearly doing what he loves. I understand that he will be retiring soon, but I believe his oldest employee is taking over for him, so I would be surprised if the quality changes. If youre looking for a good, honest, capable mechanic, give them a try!

We brought our Honda to them for a second opinion. My experience was overall pretty great. Dan was pleasant to deal with and he explained everything in a way I could understand. The Honda is gone but I will remember their kindness. However, they did take a piece off of my car and didnt bother to put it back on. I have no idea how to reattach it. Bummer.

Although they diagnosed me and got me a quote very quickly and efficiently, they charged me $380 for a distributor assembly. Dan told me that he got me a deal and found one for more than what I found online, but after I paid and realized my mistake, he still allowed me to take a refund and get a cheaper part, out of his pocket. These guys are awesome. would recommend 10/10

Had to have my entire AC done on my older Honda Accord. I was quoted from several other shops that I would pay $1500. I called 6 different shops in the Reno area, Valhalla was one of them, and they gave me a quote of more than $500 less. I was super happy with their service and how polite everyone there was. They did the work and stayed true to the original quote. I did have to wait an extra day to get the vehicle back, but I was fine with that for such a great savings. They also got me in to do the work within 1 week.

Trusted them to fix my 68 Ford Galaxie when it wouldnt start up. Had to have it towed to get new tires from there because it had been sitting on the old tires for years and wasnt safe to drive. When I came to pick it up from the tire shop, it did not want to start up and the guys from the tire shop helped me out. We found that the battery was not properly connected, and the connections to the carb were still not secure, which I had asked Dan to check when he was working on my car. Finally I was forced to leave the car at the tire shop as I could not afford to have it towed again for a fourth time. I gave Dan a call and he insisted that the startup problems were not his fault, and that he could only help if I had it towed back to the shop. He refused to help me have it towed back to him, even though I told him I could not afford to have it towed again, even though the very problem I had asked him to diagnose and repair (startup) was still very obviously present. Very disappointed as I thought these were nice, respectable people who provided good prices for good services.

We needed a place we could trust with our 2003 Honda Odyssey. I read all of the good reviews on Yelp, so we gave Dan and his crew a try. We used their night drop off and left the van for them to start on it the next morning. My wife was going on a long trip and we needed everything looked over and preped for the trip. Dan was great to work with over the phone. $608 after new PS Belt, Alt Belt, Brake Fluid Change, front brake job and Prepping for Long Trip. The worries started when we took the van in for a rotation and alignment at Tires Plus on McCarran. They performed a courtesy check of the van and found the coolant overflow completely dry and coolant level in the radiator down to half. They also found the power steering fluid almost empty and the brake fluid to be very old and contaminated with copper. The latter is very disconcerting since we paid Dan to flush and replace the brake fluid. Ill be contacting Dan on Monday to see how he explains the issues found after we paid him to correct and check these issues.

We have a 2005 Subaru forester that burned out an exhaust valve at just over 100,000 miles. Lithia Subaru wanted close to $6,000 to replace the valves, which is practically what the car is worth. Looked for an alternative, and ended up taking it to Valhalla. Quoted worst case of around half, and ended up being even less. Car runs great, service staff was willing to answer any questions we had, and checked parts to ensure they need replacement, rather than simply replacing them.Im extremely happy with the result of the service, and the value is incredible, but if you expect to have the work done ASAP, youll probably need to look into a rental car. That being said, I can certainly see why they are busy, Ill be taking all our cars here for service in the future.
