I love the ice cream flight because I get to try even more flavors! It was very cute in the six pack egg carton. I felt bad for the employees since they didn’t seem very happy; but the ice cream was good.The art is also very cute!Tried the ooey gooey butter cake, coffee pumpkin, cereal, cookies and sweet cream, and some other cookies one.

So happy that the Chelsea location reopened. I had fallen into the habit of always getting the same flavors. I only tried new flavors on my most recent visit and loved each one. Ample Hills does not seem to have as much butter fat as some other ice cream, which is one of the main reasons why I love this place.

Ample Hills in my mind is synonymous with one word: HAPPYNot only do they have delicious original flavors, but the vibe is exactly what you want from an ice cream shop. My personal favorite is the salted dark chocolate with brownie bites :)

I found this place while I was researching best ice cream in NYC. I had the ooey gooey ice cream which was recommended by the owner and I dont regret it at all. I will definitely go back to try another scoop but there are so many more flavors to try. My girl had the strawberry and it was a velvety smooth.

Ice cream was delicious. A little pricey but very good. Good a/c on a hot day. Employee attitudes aren’t great, it’s a little weird, so I took off a star. Also what is the rationale for not permitting tastes? Covid risks don’t apply, so don’t be so cheap. That’s how ice cream parlors operate.

Ive always wanted to go to Ample Hills as I know its a favorite in NYC. I was passing by coincidentally on a random night and decided to stop by for ice cream. They have one entrance door and one exit door to help with the flow of traffic which was definitely nice.I had a tough time trying to decide what flavor to choose since they had so many and I have a hard time making decisions! I ended up deciding on the Chelsea Morning since its a Chelsea exclusive. It was golden vanilla with some rainbow cookies mixed in. It was alright. The vanilla was not as sweet as I thought and I wished there were more rainbow cookies, but it was all in all not bad.My friend got Nonna Ds Oatmeal Lace and I have to say I preferred that one more. It was a little bit sweeter but it tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch a bit! Love the strong cinnamon flavor and the oatmeal cookies added a nice texture to it.

Kind stuff, cozy corner and the ice cream so creamy and super yummy nice spot to hang with the kids or friends and treat that sweet tooth without much guilt

Love this place! The ice cream is absolutely amazing. Came here on a Monday afternoon with coworkers for an afternoon snack. They let us sample a number of flavors. I eventually chose the chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cups mixed in. Also, it was cool to learn that each location has its own signature flavor not carried elsewhere. This totally makes me want to visit the other locations and try out their signature flavor.

Sorbet flavors were great. Tried mango sorbet and Raspberry sorbet flavors. Combo worked good. Friendly staff!

Ice cream is solid as in any other branch, staff is so rude, like someone is forcing them to work there, oh, and there was a hair in my ice cream, and yes, mistakes happen, but then you need a nice staff to take care of them....

Went here after work yesterday and to my surprise, it wasn’t too crowded. It was a nice and sunny day too. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and patient as I decided on what flavor to get. I noticed that the milk and honey was a flavor I’ve never seen before and to sample it. It was SO good! You could definitely taste the honey, and high quality honey (reminded me of Golden Blossom honey brand to be specific), with bits of crunchy cinnamon bun matzoh that added a bit of saltiness from the matzoh (I think). I ended up ordering the milk and honey with my go-to flavor ooey gooey butter cake.

I was so disappointed when Amorino left the 18th street spot, but when Ample Hills moved in there was great hard ice cream in the area again. The lines can get long but they have a large selection of flavors. Good balance between long-term reliable flavors and seasonal flavors.

Employees have terrible attitudes. Pretty good ice cream though. Don’t really care for their condescending “I call the shots in here” type attitude. It’s ice cream lady...spare us the attitude. Quit if you don’t like your job.

The two flavors of ice cream I had (dark chocolate and peanut butter cup) where both good. Instead of waffle cones, they had chocolate chip cookie cones. While I like their twist on a cone, I think I prefer a traditional waffle cone. They only have three tables outside with two chairs each.

I liked the Ooey Gooey flavor since the first time I went to an Ample Hills store. The Strawberry flavor did taste like it was made from fresh strawberries.

1st time being in there and maybe tha last I guess if I order a milk shake is almost $9 for a small I could only imagine how much tha ice cream is I can go to mc Donalds and get a large milkshake for $3, I mean tha customer service was good but tha girl was also sky is not a bad place but pricey dont like stores like that.

I love the location in gowanus but this doesn’t live up to that expectation. The line was long, the waffle cone was stale, the ice cream was too melty, and my caramel flavor was bitter tasting, like it was burnt. I’ll try it again for off hours.

Very cool ice cream shop on 8th ave between 16th and 17th street. I think this is a new location because the Google map isnt updated to show the store. They make their own ice cream flavors and they are really good. They have cones or cups for the ice cream you choose and many toppings to choose from. There are also a few tables to sit inside to eat your ice cream.

Ordered an Oreo cookie milkshake. Very delicious. Of course with any milkshake that has chunks you should stir really well otherwise you will be sucking on the straw til your jaw hurts.4 stars for the lack of energy and knowledge the person working behind the counter showed us after asking about the flavors. No big deal I just wanted to know more about it as I had time since the place the empty.Either way the milkshake was delicious.

The icecream was delectable. I had an Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, & Strawberry flavors on a wafer cone. The icecream was creamy. I purchased a cup of Nonna Ds Oatmeal Lace, to go, for my daughter. The bag was even insulated with foil. She is an oatmeal cookie fanatic. She said hers was delicious.Ill definitely be back. This lovely couple in the photo, from Minnesota, told me about the shoppe and the fun flavors. I am SO glad they did❣️🥰🤗🍨

An excellent new ice cream parlor on 8th Avenue in Chelsea. (There are other locations in the downtain area). A nice variety of flavors, prices are affordable and the staff is great.

The ice cream here is sooo delish! All of the flavors are amazing and so many to choose from. I had the snap mallow and def worth it! The ice cream is creamy texture. They offer many toppings. They also have seating inside and outside.

Great Staff Yummy Ice Cream

The place was empty when I walked. I waited for 3 minutes before the Scooper acknowledged my presence. I requested 2 scoops in a cup, pistachio and vanilla. She put pistachio on the bottom with vanilla on top. I sat down in the shoppe to slowly enjoy my Ive cream. I have heard incredible reviews for Ample Hill. I let the ice cream temper for 5 more minutes before tasting. The vanilla was creamy, coated the tongue nicely, and there was vanilla, but not enough. It lacked enough flavor. Next came the pistachio, the color, just a shade lighter than pea soup. I was dreading the taste. The color was reminiscent of childhood pistachio ice creams that I despised -chalky, too many pistachio nuts ground at high heat. I lift my spoon take some of the green and some of what appears to be pistachio brittle. I smiled. It certainly was pistachio, but not that of my youth. It was creamy, a light mouth feel, cool juxtaposed with the crunch of the pistachio brittle was marvelous. I scoffed down that scoop within 90 seconds. I suppose I must go back to Ample Hills and sample more of there ice cream creations.

Ample hills... an nyc classic. I always take out of towners for ample hills. I feel like checking out the local ice cream shop is a great way to get someone acquainted with a new city— and ample hills does not disappoint!

The ice cream here was very tasty. I tried the Ooey Gooey flavor which was great. The location also has outdoor seating which is nice. I would have given this location 5 stars, but my experience with the staff was not good. I was the only patron in the shop and the representative was not in a good mood. She had a bad attitude and made me feel rushed to make a decision. Maybe I’ll try some other location next time.

On a cold winter early weekday evening, I showed up here and join the line with many others and had 2 scoops on a small cup. Tasted wonderful, that peppermint chocolate plus another flavor I can not recall now. Friendly service.I am sure I will be back.

Variety of flavors, actually is mix of flavors. Each one has different ingredients that creates a delicious ice cream. Is open until midnight. Affordable but dont expect a big scoop, is just the right size. Ill come back to try new flavors.

The ice cream ideas were creative but nothing special. It was good, regular ice cream. However, the employees were incredibly rude for no reason. There wasn’t a huge line but they rushed us like the building was on fire and practically hissed at me when I didn’t specify what type of cone I wanted. Wouldn’t recommend.

This place was absolutely amazing first time trying it! They even have a lactose-free coconut milk ice cream thats a fudge flavor absolutely delicious. All their ice cream cones are homemade and waffle makers they have pretzel cones cookie cones waffle cones waffle bowls and so many assorted flavors of amazing tasting ice cream. They originated in Brooklyn but I tried the location on 8th avenue definitely give this place a try if you are new to the area or even live in New York and havent tried it yet and love ice cream

Brielle, the manager is great. Stayed open late for my friend’s birthday and gave us excellent service. Also the ice cream is delicious. Would recommend 10/10.

Staff on the Friday night that we visited was absolutely unacceptable. They were all miserable but the gal taking orders would dramatically roll her eyes with every order. Ice cream at such a high price point should come with staff right out of Disneyland. I hope they’ve replaced the staff because the ice cream is actually very good.

This review is for the Chelsea location. I have frequented the store in Prospect Heights and purchased several cakes from them for years and never had a problem. However, the experience I had ordering a cake from this location last week has most likely turned me off from all of their locations. I called last Tuesday to order a cake for Thursday. They took my name, number, etc and when I called to tell them I would be late to pick up the cake on Thursday evening they had no cake for me. It was a Valentines Day cake which made it even more frustrating. I was told they didnt have the cake I ordered and had only chocolate cakes in the store. But what happened to the cake I ordered? What was the point of taking my name, number and asking what kind of cake I wanted if they werent going to make it? If that wasnt bad enough, the nonchalant attitude to help me or locate the cake I had ordered by the person who took my call was really hard to believe. Needless to say they have lost my business.
