Milk bar is actually set up like a bar, you walk up and order. The menu is on the outside window for ease of access, the cashiers were friendly and answered questions, the deserts were great.... Chocolate birthday cake was sweet (it has chocolate chips in the dough as well)... Very sweet.... The regular birthday cake was delicious, the the compost cookie (multiple ingredients mixed) was good.... The marshmallow frosted flakes cookies was great!!!!
Every time I come to NYC, I have to stop at least once at milk bar and get a cup or pint of the soft serve. This time, I tried the swirl soft serve and I have to say that I prefer the cereal milk flavor over the strawberry. The people who work here are so kind, it may be my new favorite location!
I have such a soft spot for Cereal Milk Ice Cream. I always stop by Milk Bar whenever Im passing in the area of one. I usually get either a cup of cereal milk with corn flakes or the shake if Im taking it on the go cause its more convenient. Either way its delicious.I also usually order some cookies to take home. The Corn cookie is my favorite. The Milk Bar pie, formerly known as the crack pie, is a delicious staple. I really appreciate the renaming due to their recognition of the insensitivity of the former name. It speaks volumes for them as a company.
I was given a gift card to Milk Bar & I’ve heard that the ice cream was good (I’ve tried their truffles and cookies and they were bland/tasted unbaked to say the least) I decided to go ahead and try the cereal soft serve, let me tell you…. I was given SPOILED MILK. thankfully I didn’t pay for it but the aftermath of just 2 bites (second one was to double check I wasnt crazy) Never again…. Milk Bar is just hype.
Important Note: this location is cash less. They only take card and mobile payments.I usually love their soft serve, cookies, and of course pie but I was a little disappointed by their cake truffles. I loved the seasonal strawberry lemon truffles! They tasted like strawberry lemonade. A great touch of sweet and tart! The birthday cake truffles were a bit disappointing because they didn’t taste like much. It was also a little disappointing to see them take the packaged truffles out of the refrigerator, cut it open and place them into the plastic tray. The presentation could have been better.I also recommend their blueberry cream cookie. It’s like cookies and cream but with blueberries! It’s a little on the sweet side but tastes great with milk!
Whoever work tonight sept.28 tuesday around 7-8pm ish, are rude af! I order a small ice cream and forgot to say the cereal one their voice are loud I could hear them laughing at me, cashier telling the other crew you’re ordering what? I don’t want to leave bad review like this bcos I do work in customer service too but if you have attitude issue girl thats not the type of work for you. 🍦 is the bomb but service is a no no. 👎
Nice, creamy texture for the cereal milk ice cream, but it was a bit rich – perhaps they could offer a 2% or skim milk version too, which might taste a bit less rich.
The gluten-free cake milkshake was fantastic, though $10 for about 8 oz.
Pretty good stuff. Got to try a lot on the menu while I was visiting the area for a few weeks. The crack pie was my favorite. The cereal milk soft serve is good but I would do without the cornflakes, the flakes tasted super salty & it was too overpowering for me personally. The birthday cake truffles are great. I ended up getting a birthday cake milkshake & added truffles in myself, pretty good idea if you ask me. The cookies are ok, they will warm them for you if you ask. I tried the compost cookie & corn cookie, nothing out of this world. Everything is pretty high priced but worth it. This location has 2 small benches in front & no additional seating. Be prepared to wait in line & walk around the nice neighborhood with your goodies. I’ll definitely be back for more crack pie on my next visit. Also thank you to the extremely amazing staff there. They were always so nice & generous :)
Milk Bar has been all the hype for awhile now so Ive been looking forward to trying their signature items. The crack pie was definitely something special and I could eat that any day. The cereal milk soft serve with the cornflake crunch was ok. I expected it to taste even more like cereal milk but there was definitely a hint of it. This is not a suitable hangout place as there are only one or two benches in the front, more like grab your food and walk around.
Excellent service. I had a complicated order pickup for an event and Axel made it happen. Cookies were amazing of course.
Had to go check out Milk Bar seeing as we were in NYC. Their cereal milk ice cream and crack pie were great! I love the sweet and salty flavour profile of the cereal milk (my gf thought it was a bit too salty, and I think that the salt could be reduced slightly, but it was still great). Also the crack pie was so damn good! I think making a crack pie version of the ice cream would be amazing! I will definitely be back next time Im in NYC.
I am in absolute love with the place. They are very popular for their famous truffles which are served in two types, the birthday cake and the chocolate malt which got featured in many food lists. Its a very cute and small cafe counter in the East Village NYC. It pretty much looks like a hole in the wall but the taste of the deserts from the Tiny cafe will blow you out of your mind. They are also very famous for their cereal froste and latte. The quality has been awesome and consistent over about three visits over a couple of months. The place is slightly expensive for the quantity but I believe its worth for the taste and quality they deliver.
This Milk Bar location has the best staff. Super funny and nice, and always ready with a recommendation for what you should try that night (depending on what trouble you e gotten into already). Milk Bar makes their product out of the milk that sits in cereal first to acquire its taste,so you know its gonna be good. Between the Babyquakes or Crack Pie, youll always have a delicious lingering taste in your mouth. Stop by if youre ever around Little Italy
Absolutely wonderful! The ice cream made me feel like I died and went to heaven.Their cereal-milk flavor is world famous, but do yourself a favor - order a swirl of both flavors. The chocolate covered pretzel will not disappoint. We also tried 2 cookies- the confetti, which is as yummy as it is cute, and the cornflakes, marshmallow and chocolate chips, which was so rich and so original, that I have no words to describe it. If you have a sweet tooth - this is definitely the place for you. If not - its still the place for you.
I purchased the cereal milk soft serve in a cup. I have to say it tasted absolutely vile. I dont understand how this is even on the menu. It tastes like salty corn chips, nothing like cereal milk. The creaminess is on point, but the taste is terrible. Would never get this again. Absolute waste of $6. Threw it out after a few bites. Also the lady at the counter was rude (the big hispanic (?) looking lady). Was talking to a colleague the entire time I was checking out and did not even tell me there were toppings available until AFTER I had paid. Told me I couldnt add on toppings because I had already paid. I mean cmon pay attention to your customer, especially if Im the only one there. What are you getting paid for? Bad experience and bad taste in my mouth. Icecream should be renamed to salty corn chips.
Love this walk-up window version of the Milk Bar store! Of course it was treatin’, but even in 45 degree weather my girlfriend insisted on getting the cereal milk ice cream. “Trust me,” she said. And it was worth it, standing outside with our hands getting freezing cold. But that ice cream was worth it. The crack pie also lived up to the hype and “crack” in its name. We were just visiting NYC for a few days and stocked up on a dozen cookies to take home while we were at it.
Really poor customer service the lady at the counter was very rude.Update: the reaching out wasn’t for show and they tried to make it right, I appreciate that. Taylor is a good manager.
This is my fourth or fifth Milk Bar in the city and about my 20th visit overall. Every single time and each location are amazing! This time around I was trying to use a gift card my brother gave me for my birthday. However, their machine that was supposed to read the gift card wasn’t working. They were super kind and respectful about the whole situation. Both workers were great and the food was 10/10 per usual!
There is a lady bag there with the nastiest attitude EVER! The milk was just sitting on the counter in 90° weather and I was served SPOILED MILK. Then the lady with the nasty attitude decides she’s not giving me a refund. Very rude and unprofessional. Will not be returning.
The chocolate birthday cake milkshake was really good, surely not healthy but that’s not the point⭐️.
Very good; had a small cup of vanilla/strawberry swirl, with sprinkles. Not cheap though, $7.05, hence only four stars.
My friend couldn’t wait to go to New York and try the birthday cake at Milk Bar after seeing on TV. I got chocolate and she had vanilla. They came precut in a box that seemed chilled. Both cakes where dry. Not sure if they are frozen and then defrosted. Not what we were expecting.
Lil yu the epic swaggy beany man was here
Ive been eating their cereal milk ice cream for years, first in Toronto and most recently at the flagship location, but when I went to the Nolita location last night, their soft serve tasted very off.. almost like a soymilk flavour. I had a craving and it wasnt satisfied. :(It couldve been an off day, but if youve ever had the cereal milk here and felt disappointed, try a different location - the flagship for sure has the proper mix!
The best ice cream and latte! Even if it is 28 degrees!
I had their birthday cake shipped to my Mom for her birthday. She ended up telling me it was flavorless and to save my money next time in ordering cakes from Milk. The cake was also not delivered on the date stated. The good thing was that the customer service was great and they refunded a portion of my bill for the inconvenience.
Had the Milk bar pie. The lady working here described it as pecan pie without pecans. Perfect description for perfect pie
The service at Milk Bar was second to none. I had an order gone wrong and Shay fixed it and made it even better than before. Love Milk Bar!
I want to give this a 5 start rating because I watched Christina Tosi (the chef) on chefs table and loved her story. So I had to try this and was sorry to be somewhat let down. The crack pie was really good and the soft serve was intriguing. But the cookies and truffles come prepackaged...not fresh at all. You might as well buy them online 😒. Still, they tasted good and it was a fun stop.
Picked up some milk bar treats this beautiful afternoon. My second time here. Got the sour strawberry jam and corn milkquake also the cereal milk latte. Everything tastes amazin. Super interesting how these flavor work so well together. Also love how this location seems like it is just a hole in the wall on such a vibrant street. Keep up the amazing work.
Save yourself some $ and just eat sugar straight out of the box. Didn’t finish the cookies or ice cream. A testament to marketing being more effective than substance.
This place is soooo good. I highly recommend getting the Crack Pie Milk Quake. It lets you try their two best things in one item, the Crack Pie and Cereal Milk. You will not be disappointed by anything here.Keep in mind, this is a credit/debit card only place, no cash.
OMGosh my taste buds have never in their life tasted something so delicious.. I think what I had was called the milk bar latte & a cookie forgot the flavor.... this place is literally on another level, I’m sooo happy I found this on yelp! .. and the customer service is Amazing!
Location is now closed and entirely moved out. Just an FYI for anyone visiting this location!
Fantastic crack pie and compost cookie. Rich, creamy, modestly sweet. Definitely going again.
Crack pie and cereal milk latte were yum - super sweet but really tasty! Bday cake truffles werent good - way too sweet and not much flavor. 2 small benches outside but it’s just a pickup spot so don’t expect to sit inside anywhere.
Super kind and helpful workers!!! 10/10 would recommend!! Gave us freebies out of kindness
Was too expensive for such a small portion of cereal and ice cream. Plus the location doesnt even have seats. Its like a dessert truck with tiny portions... Where is all that $$ going?
Tried the samples. all the ice creams were salty. Definitely not my type. But the employee was very respectful.
Another creation by David Chang, and one located right outside one of his Fuku establishments mean I had to try it out ofc. I went for the Chocolate pretzel soft serve with the addition of honeyed cereal. Now this was one of the most delicious soft serves I have every eaten, with the flavour of chocolate (i mean who doesnt like chocolate), and subtle saltiness. It honestly just amplified the flavours and the sweet cereal made it even better. On a warm summers day in New York this was such a refreshing hit of flavour. (Its also a great dessert to have right after eating at the Momofuku restaurants :P ) Service here is friendly, but I do admit a little more attention to the customers to see if they needed a hand when 2 members of the staff were chatting wasnt exactly ideal.Nonetheless, I would love to have more of that tasty ice cream!
Solid shakes! wont leave you with a sugar hangover, delicious milky taste. no seating, grab and go window only.
The fruity pebbles soft serve is tasty but not amazingly flavorful; think plain old McDonalds or DQ vanilla with a hint of fruitiness. I was expecting a “wow this is delicious!” moment, but experienced a “this is extremely overpriced and over hyped” moment. Maybe if the six bucks got ya more than a few spoonfuls it would be worth it; maybe if those few spoonfuls were something special it would be worth it. I would say for this price go get some amazing gelato or a unique gourmet ice cream flavor somewhere.
I was really excited to try Milk Bar. I was disappointed to see things prepackaged, i thought we were going to a fresh bakery. The corn cookie was a great surprise, but i was disappointed with the bday truffles.
Christina Tosi is a visionary and this is probability her 6-7th location?! Can say enough about the cereal milk soft serve with corn flake topping. When the Fitz cookies are in season buy a dozen! The cookies are also a highlight alongside the trusty salty pretzel milkshake. Long like the bar!!!!
We were really excited to try Milk Bar in 246 Mott St, but it seemed no so attractive, very chaotic inside the little shop, with no exposition of the products and it was very difficult to choose something. We were also disappointed to see things prepackaged. The crack pie was not in the menù.
Like having your favorite cereal with really really cold vanilla flavored milk. No complaints here, I swear I wish I found this combo years ago as a child.
Exactly what I expected... Incredible experience! The CRACK PIE is a must have!! So is the Cereal Milk ice cream! 👍
The ice cream is so good, I tried cereal cream with corn flakes highly recommended ;p
Looks pretty but not worth the money. Its an extremely small window with only two small outdoor benches. The ice cream and crack pie are both extremely over priced. The crack pie is a boring caramel pie with just powdered sugar. The ice cream has a very watery and boring taste. The crunch things hurt your mouth and are salty, making the entire ice cream combo taste absolustely disgusting. While I was sitting there, I saw 3 others buy the ice cream, take a couple bites and throw the entire thing away.
Cereal crunch shake is the best! So unexpected and totally hit the spot!
Cant begin describe the crazy nostalgic willy wonka concoction ice cream sensation this product produces in your mouth. Just get it immediately!
Absolutely brilliant deserts and shakes. Amazing flavours and combinations.
Great place for some unique desserts such as cereal milk ice cream with corn flakes, compost cookies, and crack pie. Open late 👍👍👍
Great service, sure.. and its tasty, but less than its price, for me.
Soooo good. If you haven’t tried milk bar yet you need to, you won’t be disappointed!
Good: Crack Pie, Birthday truffle, compost cookieOkay: Cereal Milk Soft Serve
So glad there was a location here! Easy to find, friendly service! No cash, credit card only.
Obvious appeal to sweet-tootherswhich Im NOT but I recognizefor a famous place, pretty fair prices!good service :)Will I be back? When do i ever have a craving for sugar - never - so -whenever im with somebody and theyd like to go - definitely keepin this in my backpocket
Cereal Milk Soft Serve is definitely overrated - any italian icecream is better. Crack pie is ok, but any Tarte with lots of fat and sugar will taste more or less the same.
After seeing Christina Tossi on Netflix and master chef, I wanted to try milk bar. I went and got the crack pie and tried the 6 cookies...i was disappointed. The crack pie was OKAY, not great. The cookies smelled weird, some were too salty and they all left a bad aftertaste. Not worth the hype.
Interesting taste and flavour - Tried the cereal milkshake, ice cream and crack pie. The flavour gets a little boring after a while for some reason but it is still worth the hype to try this new flavour.
Out of this world desserts!!!! The truffle balls are so decadent, and the cookies are amazing.
Tiny location. Bagel bombs yummy. Desserts ok.
Despite the supposedly weird concoctions, everything was crazy sweet, pre-packaged (like it came from a factory) and was over priced. While the service was super friendly overall, dont waste your time or money.
Christina Tosis new location to pick up some crack pies and cereal milk...Mmmm... Tastes like diabetes.
Small but good for quick takeaways
Love the unique desserts! A little bit pricey but so yummy!
Disgusting! Don’t waste your time or money! Everything is prepackaged and tastes that way!
Tried the crack pie and the cereal milk... but didnt love it... 💔
Lot of hype, good but i was expecting amazing
Small walk up window but there was no line when I arrived around 5 on a weekday. Always get crack pie.
