This place is amazing, beautiful inside the decorations are so cute and the ice cream AMAZING, we tried some of the famous bowls on the menu, and I highly recommend it. The only thing that I regret (because of how beautiful the view and decoration are) is that the tables are just for customers making their own ice cream.

Charging $30 for making a quart of ice cream, you’d expect gold medal ribbon to come with a gold medal. The ice cream is mediocre and experience underwhelming especially for the ridiculous markup. For a one-off kid’s birthday or novelty, fine, but don’t expect much quality for the price.

Very delicious ice cream concoctions. Their sundaes are phenomenal. There is also a lot of seating room and an ice cream party option for groups of kids. The lighting and artistic vibe is incredible. Worth a trip if you have a sweet tooth!

I came here with a 10 year old and she loved it! You pick a flavor base and toppings and make the ice cream yourself. We paid $29.99 for one batch--it was enough for the two of us, plus we had about one serving to take home. Would recommend for kids!

They are getting one star because my daughter enjoyed making the ice cream. They need a reservation system online to have it organized better. Paid 32.65 for just 2 people complete waste of money. The waiting area is near the bathroom 😑. Need better seating has to get up more than once to let someone behind me yea behind me . Service was bad they were having a birthday party on top of that, should have closed that day to allow the party to go on.

We’re screaming for Cool Mess!!! We love partying with them because their store is bright, cheery, and spotless, their staff is delightful, and it’s always good, clean fun. They’re really unbeatable for an easy-to-plan birthday party, where kids can have a blast making a (delicious) mess and parents don’t have to worry about the clean up. 10/10!!!!!!

Upon arrival there was no one there, after a few minutes I asked if they serve food there because it didnt seem they asked us if we wanted anything. You have to go up to the counter each time you have a question about menu, want to order food, drinks, ketchup, etc. The only time they come to you is when the food comes out or when assisting with making the ice cream. In the end I only ended up ordering one meal ( which I asked for something changed and it was not done) and two sides because I was looking for a fun but relaxing full service restaurant, this is not the place. You have to literally get up and get your own water, soda refills, napkin, etc. We all ended up calling it a night, without ordering our own meals. I ended up eating dinner at home.

Lovely ice cream shop. Fantastic for families or going solo. Lots of choices of sweets. Had the strawberry sundae and it was delicious. You can order to stay or go and even make your own ice cream!

Cool place(pun not intended) to visit if you like ice cream. You have the option to sit and make your own at the table, or order scoops at the counter. The option to make your own is more expensive, but is still a fun experience. Could use an update on their flavors menu though.

I’m not usually in this part of town so when someone recommends a spot, I’m willing to check it out. This was a nice experience. It’s more for kids of course and the one in our group loved it.Since the ice-cream can’t be frozen before consumption it has a soft serve consistency. Still tasted like ice cream.

The ice creams were delicious. Fun to make your own ice cream too. But I guess that is mostly for kids ‘ fun!

Ive only been here when hosting a birthday party, but everyone always has a great time! It can definitely get chaotic with all the sugar and kids, but the staff handles it all in stride. Food is made in Burger Heavens kitchen downstairs, and was very good. At the end of the party, the kids were given a container and free reign to fill it up at the candy wall. That was a fun way to end the event.

This place is so cool!!! My family and I made our own ice cream (how cool is that?!) with so many delicious add-ins to choose from. The establishment is clean, the staff very helpful and courteous, and we did not have to wait long before being seated at our tables (stations). Definitely grab a delicious meal downstairs at Burger Heaven before creating and eating your frozen, sweet creation! So much fun! The venue is decorated in a fun way as well (check out the sprinkles wallpaper as you head upstairs to the shop ☺)!

So i took my daughter here for part of her. Birthday dinner, and it seemed like a cool place to go. So it is a very cool environment for kids. It is lively and colorful with a good overall ambiance. What is cool (which I didnt know going there) is that the burger place next to it is the same business, so you wont only have to get ice cream. You can order from the restaurant as well.I got a tuna sandwich and onion rings and both were good. Nothing to write home about, but hit the spotNow with the ice cream the best part is just the process of it. You pick a flavor, pour in the maker let is swirl for about 10 min an, bam, ice cream. My daughter loved the process and had s really good time, hence the 4 rating. However, the ice cream was nothing great. But she had a good time and said she wanted to come back, so that counts the most

Great place. Went for little cousins birthday and she loved it. Food was good, so was the service. Our waiter Bobby did an especially good job. He works with a lot of passion, seemed like he loves his job.

The actual taste of the ice cream is just fine. Pretty overpriced. It seems like we were just re-freezing melted ice cream and scooping in toppings. Wouldnt recommend.

This place is awesome and fun as soon as we arrived we were greeted by a black man who was very helpful and into his job. He didn’t hesitate to make us feel welcomed he explained the entire process to us and made it a breeze for us to order. I was surprised at how good the food was. I expected it to be horrible because it’s a kids restaurant but it wasn’t I was so happy for that! I wish I would have gotten the manshisname because I would send everyone I know to him. The rest of the staff didn’t seem as enthusiastic as he did. And because of him I’ll definitely be back to this Cool Mess!

Unfortunately not recomendable as I got sick at this place, which means they have so many kids and serve so many other things than food, than they might not have the right checks on the hygiene side for things like salads or other less junk food options in their menu. My kid got sick too so it wasn’t just me. Be careful if used for parties. Service was great though (in the top floor)

The aesthetic is fun, but the ready-made flavors are just okay. Baskin Robbins has a better flavor selection. However, if you want to make your own pint thats a cool project for a group of friends or kids. Although the meals are not displayed, the menu is presented upon request. Good spot to go to atleast once and take pictures.

Love their idea of making ice cream, however the price was too expensive. The vanilla tasted weird. Just one machine, 1 flavor, 3 toppings for 30 bucks plus tax and tip. I spent 100 bucks on 2 machines. Place was clean and my kids had fun overall.

Surprisingly good tasting ice cream that you get to make yourself which the kids loved. Staff was always alert and friendly. We made one batch of ice vanilla ice and added 3 toppings for 2 kids and 2 adults for around $30 bucks, not bad.

Cool Mess is a fun place to go any afternoon when you are in the mood for great ice cream and treats. They also have awesome coffees and other desserts, and a candy wall if you have a really sweet tooth. The owner of Cool Mess, Marguerite, stopped by our table to make sure we were having a good time.I have heard they have great private parties there - I am hoping to get invited to one soon!

We have been to CoolMess several times now. This is a real feel good place! Great ice cream with the best selection of toppings, friendly staff, and a bright and cheery environment. We walk out with smiles on our faces each time and will continue to come back for sure.

The ice-cream was so fresh and tasty—we chose pound cake, cookie dough, and Reese’s peanut butter add-ins with a vanilla base. It hit the spot for 3 adults and service was superb.

This place was really cool. I wanted to go to one of those instagram worthy ice cream places and this totally fit the bill. You can make your own ice cream at your table (a little expensive, but feeds four people I believe so I think the price fits) or you can order a HUGE sundae for yourself. I wish I had known how big it was going to be before I ordered it so I could have shared, but it was so good.

This place is perfect for kids and big adolescents... The price might be a bit pricey, but in my opinion its well worth it. One of the cool things here is while you are with your kids you can order food from the downstairs restaurant, and they will bring it up for ya, and the food is not bad, I particularly liked the tomato soup, I actually had to order another one because my friend got jealous.

My wife and i stopped in at night and the service was great as well as the ice cream. the guy working the counter was super fun and energetic. The ice cream and milkshakes were perfect and toppings were great.

The staff who served me were excellent, but the ice cream was nothing special, more towards the bland side. Despite getting SMores, the flavor was forgettable and lacked depth, and in general I was just dissatisfied with the ice cream both in value and taste. Not recommended.

The place was chaos; but in a good way. It was super busy but the staff was amazing. I love having the opportunity to make my own icecream and be able to eat it afterwards. I recommend this place for the cool experience if you are able to get a table since they are always busy. It is really a CoolMess; but one that makes you happy so that you leave smiling after having experienced it.

Mediocre ice cream. The only thing exciting about this place is that you can make your own ice cream at your table, big deal. Other than that, its over priced and the service is pretty bad. The girls that were working there last Friday were pretty unfriendly and it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than a customer. Two medium size ice cream for $17. I dont mind paying if the ice cream was actually good and service was decent but this place is not one to offer either thing. Will not go back.

Fun place to take the kids. Great for parties. Good service. Nice that you can order food from Burger Heaven downstairs. Not so easy to see, the door is on the side of the building on 62nd Street and the place is on the 2nd floor. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. We will definitely be going back.

Had the taro milk tea with pearls and it was deeeelicious! Sometimes I find taro tea to be a bit powdery but these guys do an amaaazing job! Definitely coming back for more! 😍

I went here once and ill probably never go again. It was cool seeing our ice cream being made but thats about it. We waited in line for over an hour. The staff were rude and unorganized. The ice cream was ok not the best and the actual food was ok.

This is a amazing place to celebrate your childs birthday party. The staff are amazing (Syed and Celine) are so professional that kept the kids and the adults occupied at all times, the adults were making icecream to. What a great experience. I will recommend this place 100%

Having a blast with my 11 years old daughter and her friends!!! Excellent service and fun to be place.

Went to this place to meet up with a group of friends. Once i got there, they said that they do not have non-dairy options for me, for the ice cream making which is fine NOT a problem - i decided to sit out that part. The bill comes and they have charged me for just sitting there, despite them knowing they have no suitable options for me. After being asked twice they still were adamant on charging for the seat (note the the place was a third empty so i wasnt losing them customers by using one of their chairs to sit on). This is OUTRAGEOUS. Someone comes to your restaurant, you dont have any suitable options for them, yet you charge them for sitting there, which they do as they are with a group of friends?!?!save your time and money and avoid the substandard customer service and pricing policy con.
