Nice cozy diner with decent food and prices.

Hey,hey! Its Me! Joe Kher! Out n about Gotham City again! On my way to cause rampage and mischief, I stopped by this quaint little diner on 18th st and I must say they have thee best breakfast selections, EVEN AT 8PM! So if yer in the mood for breakfast at 8PM stop on by this little classic corner diner and the staff well take care of ya! So eat up! And have a happy!

Classic diner food. I love this spot and hope it never goes away.

The cashier refused to serve me. Wanted a simple juice but she said i should wait until she has served everyone else (5 people after me in the queue). Apparently people who order juice have the least priority .

Two friends and I stopped for lunch. Food was awesome, plentiful. The service was great as well. Well be back!

The diner felt truly traditional. It is not a themed diner. The cheeseburger was huge and very fairly priced. The service was quick. Awesome place for a quick bite on between walks.

For the location this place offers decent price. The food is good and the milkshakes is definitely the highlight, I love the milkshakes here more than Big Daddys which is known for their milkshakes. Id go here any time of the day to get a milkshake here. Service is ok. Its a very convenient location if your hanging out on the highline.

My favorite diner in the city. They have food at a reasonable price, the staff is always very welcoming. It is a cute diner next to the High Line.

Hot Wings and Fries were Ok but I really Enjoyed The Breakfast.

This place is awesome. Super friendly staff, homemade deserts that are to die for, and one of the best burgers i’ve ever eaten. Things are reasonably priced and it has a very expansive menu. I will for sure be back here again. Much love.

Describing the dining experience here as slendid would be an understatement. Prices were decent for NYC, staff were all friendly and unlike many places in the area, they will never rush us. The burgers were so tender and milkshakes were to die for. Would highly recommend this diner to anyone in the NYC area.

This place always delivers. Getting to Chelsea to check out the latest gallery shows can be a real pain because the areas public transportation isnt excellent—but then I remember that Ill cap the afternoon with a burger from Star on 18 and everything is worth it. Ive missed this place throughout the pandemic and cant wait to get back.

After battling the mass if visitors at Chelsea Piers I went looking for something nearby that was quiet and cheap. The Star on 18 was perfect. Quick service, reasonable prices and excellent value for money. For the record I had a Ruben sandwich with pastrami and real chips, not those thin and anemic fries most places serve up (see image).

Bald head guy.I think he’s the manager and/or owner. He is also the waiter and collects the bill. He touches the food with his bare hands and then deals with money. Touches phone and everything without sanitizing no gloves. His nails are black dirty like he just finished changing car brakes. Will not go here again.

Nice diner. The food is not bad...but also not perfect. Its a normal nice diner, great staff, prices are fair. The food was a bit but really well edible. Who wants to eat in a real diner is here well repeatedly.

Update 8/13/17: 5 stars. We ordered fish tacos off the specials menu and had the Tilapia broiled instead of fried (pic). Wow, really good! And better than some of the Mexican places weve eaten at. Certainly would order again... and with beers, since this time was brunch w/coffee.Update 6/25/17: oatmeal w/nanners again :)GF had Cuban burger delux- very good. Fyi the jalapeños that come with it are REAL! Not the mild ones you get at some places... I love hot peppers, tobasco is mild to me.Great food... update 5/6/17: had oatmeal with bananas- was good, Id get it again. GF had Greek omlet again- good. Her rye toast was perfect!Strayed from our usual 9th Ave spots. My Pancakes and eggs- great! Greek omelet- awesome (GFs words). Coffee was good and friendly staff. We will be back :)

Check my pictures out.Every time I order its a different price probably stole $50 in fake taxes from me already. Theres only certain foods I trust from this place dont get the New York cut shell steak if you ever heard about people gluing steaks together this is one of those places when I was removing my steak from the takeout to my plate it fell into two pieces you can see where they glued it together. Pork chops are Superdry and tasteless I ordered them twice both times Superdry but I give a 5 star for the Apple stuffing very delicious. The burgers taste good if you have the lettuce tomato cheese ketchup and toppings but if you take a bite of just the burger alone it has a weird taste to it my girlfriend said its probably not real meat she said this is why they dont ask you how you want it cooked I like medium well but they always overcook it which makes me think that it probably isnt real meat. Or maybe a mixture of meat and something else. The milkshakes are a joke half of a cup is filled with foam real ice cream shouldnt be foamy. Chicken cutlets are delicious the salads are always fresh chicken salad was delicious I always ordered a breakfast combo but this will be my last meal from this place I dont deal with Crooks

Visiting from Minnesota, looking for a place to eat, walked into this place and enjoyed a great meal with good service at reasonable price.If I lived here Id be a regular customer.

I love this place. No frills diner thats open even at the crack of dawn. Dont judge me for eating their chicken soup for breakfast because its just that good.

This is just what you imagine neighbourhood diner to be only theres very few of these probably left in Manhattan. In Chelsea, its probably just this one. It even has the old converted bus kind of feel (its not really). The food is good and so is the service. Prices arent bad, nor is the wine.

Sorry for late on comment: We were there the Saturday 31th March 2018.. was very nice and friendly place. I do remember some words from Greece.. nice thought....

These old school diners are a dying breed in NYC. Maybe this is the kind of place when I think of NYC or Mel’s diner where Alice will come over any minute giving you some sass. Okay, I’m old and most of you are Googling ‘Mel’s Diner’. It serves the typical Greek, all the time breakfast and everything in between. It is a small place. Service is brisk and food comes out quickly. It is a good place to sit and grab a meal any time of day.

I strongly recommend this place! I had a great meal for a great price. The staff was very friendly and offer to make a new dish due to my gluten intolerance.

We wanted to get away from the obnoxious crowds and annoying tourists at CM, and found this cozy little old school diner just two blocks away. It was perfect. Comfy booths, reasonable prices and attentive staff. NYC the way it used to be. My friend ordered the Reuben and I had the roast beef melt. Both arrived hot, toasty and delicious! Definitely coming back.

Went in and had the Super 18 burger. Delicious! The waitress was nice and funny. The service was amazing!

Very pleasant waiter and with good sense of humor. I had blueberry muffin and great tasting coffee. The owner is usually tired when I see her and she is no racist as one customer wrote about her me. She likes Europeans like me.

Cool old fashioned spot to grab your diner favorites. I had pancakes and they were delicious. Fluffy and imperfect just like eating at home. The only drawback is that the place is very small

Awesome place to stop for brunch.. were walking the high line and saw this place and thought wed stop in. They have great service and quick and excellent food. Best diner food weve had here in Manhattan!

I have been there a few times and it has never wowed me. The waiter was nice, the cook didnt listen to his order and the lady behind the counter is grouchy, needs some customer service skills... They can do much better...

The service was horrible, it took the waitress 10 minutes of tending to other people before taking my order, although she saw before that I was ready to order. The food was average, not really great for a NY diner, and the cheeseburger gave my friend a stomachache, but the ambiance and building itself was nice.

You know a diner is solid when you come in at 10am and its full of construction workers on their break. Everything I ordered came out great, and it really hit the hometown diner feel.

Went there Sunday with a few friends and the Alfredo was excellent. The waitress was very nice. Definietly will be back.

Horrible! Not so much the food but the owners attitude. The workers are very nice however the owner is very racist and her face and attitude really makes the breakfast unenjoyable. I feel sorry for the people who work there.

The food seemed fine, from what i saw. I wasnt able to eat there because they were in such a rush and so busy and, as someone who cant eat a lot of things due to pre-existing conditions, i got a plate full of stuff i couldnt eat. And the waiters were just whizzing around, tending to other people. Sure itll be great for someone who isnt such a constricted eater.

Classic diner with literally everything on the menu. Nothing is crazy good, but if youre in the mood for something specific they are likely to have it.I always get the cheesburger deluxe, a solid offering for a solid price considering the neighborhood.
