NY casual dining at its best. Reasonable prices, fresh food, great breakfasts and coffee, and fabulous service. Go, and they will take good care of you! Right in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Rockefeller Center and St. Patricks Cathedral neighborhood.
Great place.. I had breakfast on a sunday the place was packed!!!I enjoyed over easy eggs and french toast .I had lunch another day.. Salmon and steamed vegetables., along with mash potatoes..mash potatoes were from a pack or from potatoes that were well I dont know..Salmon and vegetables were very delicious.
Great breakfast. We ate cream cheese bagel, Mediterranean omelette and Belgian waffles, and enjoyed them all. Nice staff.
The egg sandwich was good but it wasn’t $10 good I don’t think there is any $10 egg sandwich that has a single egg that is worth it.At that Point might as well have ordered a full breakfastThe service was great and everyone was friendly but I spent $35 on three egg sandwiches
We stayed 7 days in New York and found this on our second day. We went back every day for breakfast. Staff was very friendly beside the hot weather and the busy times. The food was fresh and very delicious. Price was good for New York too.We be definitely coming back once back in New York in the next year and recommend everyone we know to go there.Thank you guys for a fantastic service
Fast service, good food! Good menu selection.
Great service. Enjoyed the California Omelette.
Great place for lunch and breakfast. Fast service and delicious food..totally recommend if staying in mid town
This place had high score at several sites, and it was near our hotel so we tried it. This place is hectic, where the waiters are running all around you, bringing food to the tables and clearing the dirty dishes after. I had a pancakes which were quite nice. My friend took o e egg with potatoes and toast, but he wasnt that happy about it. And they were even wrong with his check.Overall, place has good atmosphere but food can get better.
Great find. Excellent service, selection, and prices.
Excellent service, good food. Pricey for me but normal for NYC.
Busy old style diner. For that true New Yorker feel. Traditional breakfast food.
Absolutely do not go to a chain fast food restaurant in NYC, that kind of franchised, soul-less food you can get anywhere on the planet now. Make the most of where you are and have yourself a proper American breakfast. This is where families, business types and construction workers get breakfast. Not the cheapest, but then you dont go to New York every day. Authentic and great food. Yes the eggs are cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
I love diners and to be honest this breakfast food was kind of bland and pricy.. The waiters were super nice but the food didnt really impress especially for being so $$$
Would love to critique the food but couldnt get past the front door where rude worker told me it was going to be 20 minutes even though I could see a half a dozen empty tables. Im guessing it was because I was eating solo but either way I should have been seated.
The food is pricey for breakfast. I had gotten the lumberjack French toast and it was soft and sweet along with the eggs being cooked well. However, my bf had gotten a burger and it was only half cooked. When it was pointed out, they got him a new burger that he says is a 7.5
Great service, wonderful and friendly staff. The food amazing!!! If i could give it a 10 i would definitely!!!
Expensive breakfast. As much as a lunch. But it was tasty.
The Philly cheese stake sandwich is one of the best ever taken.
Terrible burnt omelette cold coffee cold toast disappointing
Very good service Comfortable diner Good food
Great food and awesome service
Worst restaurant in NYC, rude staff and terrible food, go somewhere else! There are great diners nearby on 1st and 2nd Avenue just 1-2 blocks!
Very accommodating and truthful. Real turkey not processed. I had a turkey wrap. Good quality nice size portion and fresh. Nice staff.
Good food and service.
Wonderful food. Good prices. Friendly service. What more could you ask for? I had the Texas Tuna Melt. Interesting combination of tuna with jalapenos. Not too hot, but just spicy enough. We accidentally stumbled across a jewel while killing time before a show. I highly recommend you check them out. I know I hope to drop in again on my next visit to NY.Side note. I was heartbroken when they insisted on throwing away my leftovers before I could go into Madison Square Gardens. I was planning to chow down on it tomorrow for lunch while waiting for my flight home.
Good food, good n fast service...Im coming back !!!
Very friendly staff. Great food
Best breakfast I have never tried. The staff is so nice with people... The treatment to the costumer is great and the food amazing, the price very competitive too. Cannot ask for more! Highly recommended :)
Overpriced and underwhelming food. Better off anywhere else. Very Disappointing.
We ate here on most days while we were in New York as it was close to our hotel. All of the food we had was great and the service was speedy and polite. It’s also a very clean place with plates cleared away quickly. It’s usually pretty full for breakfast, lunch and dinner but you can usually get a table. The only downside for us was the red wine, which really isn’t great.
Great spot with quality food, comfortable and warm outdoor seating
The food is very good especially for the price. I would highly recommend!
Always a great quick easy laid back diner. Food is good especially breakfast, have been frequenting this diner for a few years now. Only passed it up once around Christmas time as there was a line out the door, on all other occasions quickly seated and fed!
No nonsense place. Very efficient service, nice staff, very decent food. Had the Greek omelet, fantasys. Generous but not to much food on your plate. All in all fantastic experience. I recommend it!
You fancy an omelette with some pancakes dressed with maple syrup and good quality brewed coffee? Or maybe a delicious sandwich rich of ingredients? This is the place. And the good thing is you can have these no matter what time it is at a perfect location: just around the corner where Lexington Ave and East 50th Street meets.
Food was great definitely will be back.
Came here for my last breakfast in New York before heading home pancakes or absolutely delicious home fries were amazing staff is super friendly and nice look forward coming back here when I visit again
Great place, very central and quick service. The hot pastrami and cheese sandwich was superb. Was so good we went back for breakfast and this was also excellent and very quick. If you near you should pop in.
Delicious food and great take out options.
2 doors from Benjamin Hotel in midtown.Great service! Big diner type menu. Lots of gluten free food. Reasonable $ for NY. We ate here twice & enjoyed both the experience & meals.Cobb salad was fresh & loaded! Veggie omelet perfectly prepared & not overloaded w/ cheese but lots of veggies. Sunday at 12 walked right in & got a table. Food came out fast.
Food is good, but the coffee is terrible
Great food and service at a great price
Perfectly New York luncheonette! Attentive, prompt service from the host and waiters on a busy Sunday morning. They managed to seat 7 of us together and 2 were fine at the counter. We received delicious & well priced breakfasts all around with precision!! Great experience & would recommend!!
Food was amazing, staff was awesome. Most importantly, left a package, returned 2 hours later with little hope of it still being there. The staff found it, saved it and really made my day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Good place. Busy all the time for lunch. Food is decent nothing special. Place is kept neat. Service is good and servers are nice.Definitely recommended.
Been here the last two times Ive visited NYC. Its a bustling place with tables crowded cheek to jowl with one another. The whole restaurant just has a happy, positive vibe to it. Breakfast there is awesome. Service is fast and super-efficient - and the wait staff is genuinely friendly. Gotta give this joint five stars.
This restaurant offers exceptionally good food for the price paid.Breakfast as well as lunch is very good!Waiters are all very friendly and courteous.
Perfect place either for breakfast or for lunch. Thank you so much, Guys.
Really nice breakfast in a great location. They made us feel very welcome and the service was efficient and friendly. Loads of pancakes, probably enough to share!
Nice place
Food was good. Prices were great for the area. The staff was AMAZING. The couple next to us dropped their silverware and the waiter had them a new set before they were even able to pick theirs up. I watched one of the waiters pull out a chair and help an elderly gentleman sit down. Great staff. I will return!
A must for good food at a good price, would highly recommend. No drama, polite staff, quiet service. A must go to.
The reviews of this place do not accurately describe it. We went with high hopes based on what others had said. We were unfortunately disappointed... The food was sub par to say the least. I got the hot pastrami sandwich and it was like low grade lunch meat! My son had the spaghetti and meatballs, well lets just say that it made chef Boyardee look gourmet. Additionally the staff was super rude! I can deal with lower quality food if the service is good. Here the service is terribly bad! There is a really pushy balding gentleman seating people and running tables. He appeared to be in charge but I am not sure if he is the owner or not. What I can tell you is that he acted like we were a bother and in his way! Customer service was not this guys strong suit! So if you are looking for a place that is quiet with good eats this has 1 of the 2 unfortunately its not the food I would go for.
Great place for breakfast. Service is prompt and friendly. You can also get a good sandwich here for lunch.
A very iconic NYC diner experience! The food was great and the service was efficient. Would go back for sure.
Standard NY diner like in the old days when I was a kid. There arent that many of these left. This one is pretty good and well located for Grand Central and a bunch of other stuff.
Had an amazing breakfast here. Great atmosphere and great food. A must for all New York visits
We popped in here very early one morning for breakfast. When youre jetlagged and up at 5am, you need places like this! Since it was around the corner from our hotel it was an easy choice to visit, and we enjoyed a hearty, well priced breakfast (I had a cheese and mushroom omelette and my partner had a waffle with bacon) and coffee. The food was typical traditional fare, nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Service was very polite and quick, and I enjoyed the old school ambience of the restaurant. It sort of felt like stepping back in time to the 1970s, in a good way!
Relaxed vibe. Honest tasty food in generous portions. Friendly service. Daily special chicken menu was satisfying.
Loved the chef salad! Huge portions. Our son liked their food and shakes. Quiet, clean, and perfect for families wanting a diner type meal.
I found the Luncheonette by searching for a diner that has breakfast and english breakfast tea. We wanted somewhere thats traditional, no pomegranate seeds or avocado and it was PERFECT.Trust me, especially if youve had a few drinks the night before, all you need is a nice stodgy breakfast with a proper cuppa tea or refillable coffee. The service was amazing, the plates were big and really good prices. I actually went back for a take away club sandwich one evening and it was yummy! Its no frills but its warm and welcoming and great value for money.Staff speak a minimum Spanish and English and they were honestly lovely.
2nd time. Went for Thursday lunch. Light crowd. Very attentive service. True bottomless drink special and more chips without ever having to ask. Always worth a stop when in the neighborhood.
Tiny bugs flying onto my breakfast. The owner stated that since I ate some of the meal, she would give me a discount of 20%. How laughable is that. In addition this happened on December 1st. She explained that its common to have bugs this time of year at the restaurant New York Lunchionette. I can only imagine what goes on in their kitchen with that type of attitude. Folks are probably swallowing tiny bugs without knowing about it. I just happen to seeing them as I was about to take a bite. So check your plate before diving in.
Amazing breakfast in mid town. Come in, eat your eggs, drink your coffee, leave $14 on the table and go. Amazing that this kind of places still exist. Bravo
Pretty average at best. Went during breakfast and had French toast for $9.50 and hot tea for $2. Pretty pricey for two pieces of bread and hot water with a Lipton tea bag. Service was fast, but never saw the waiter again. Never asked about my food or if I needed anything else like a refill or water. Orange juice is $4.50. For that I would expect fresh squeeze, but I saw them pouring it from a store bought gallon container. Bacon and sausage is piled up on the back all ready cooked. Not made to order. Quality is pretty low here.
Really good value for money. Friendly good vibe. Cakes are amazing 😁
Went here every morning for breakfast when we were in New York. The pancakes are amazing. Very generous portions. Cant wait to go back again this year
