I purchased a bike recently and it just arrived. I needed accessories and searched at four stores in the city. This was the only one that was friendly, clean, organized and focused on the customer. I was really impressed by the gentleman who worked on the bike in my presence adding the accessories. He had a lot of knowledge and was able to fix a bunch of silly errors I made. First bike ISince I was a kid and I am 55 years old. He made sure everything was secure and even went over my assembly tightening up loose screws. They had everything I wanted, reasonably priced and they were very nice. I will be back! They are getting a part for me and I now know a skilled technician to tune up my bike regularly. I highly recommend making this your first stop. They solved all my problems and got me on a great start to biking.

Juan and Maria are extremely generous. We went in looking for two new bikes, but unfortunately they didnt have what we wanted. They went out of their way to find the bikes we wanted by contacting their colleagues at another store. They are genuine individuals and were extremely helpful when I went back to purchase my first pair of cycling shoes. Their store is also very neat, clean, and well kept. This is one of the best bike shops in the city.

I like this place. Went in with my new gravel bike. It had a creak noise in the seatpost and was really bothering me. Had three other mechanics from three different shops try to resolve the problem. The mechanic here just asked if he can test ride it and resolved the problem right away. I will be going back for sure with other bikes. Great customer service, very inviting. You do not have to but a bicycle to get the good customer service.I will highly recommend this shop to friends.

Juan and Maria are two amazing people. I was on my search for a road bike and really wanted a Specialized. They explained how measuring me is best to figure out the brands for my size. They are both very patient and took their time to listen to my preferences. Once they figured my size, I decided I wanted the Tarmac Sl7 Pro. Juan went above and beyond to search and find this bike in another store. He didnt think twice nor turned me around despite me going for a bike outside of his store. Given his great effort, I purchased some of my accessories from here and will continue to return for any of my bikes necessities. I should add Maria kept me updated and contacted me when any item I was interested in was made available. Attentive, detailed, and friendly service! I highly recommend them!

4th time getting my bicycle fixed here; they did a fantastic job once again. I feel safe on my bicycle, and the bike runs faster and smoother. I had a flat tire, and the first wheel was crooked, and I am pretty sure they fixed my gears as well.

But to my surprise!!! Even though they did not have any at their store, the owner went above and beyond with his kindness and got the two bikes from other vendors. I came in to get my tire and tube replaced and was in and out quickly. The mechanic presented me with different options based on how I use my bike.

My partner and I came in and from the very beginning, the staff was attentive and thorough. We were blown away by their attention to detail and how they actively listened to us. They never pressured us into buying an expensive bike. Instead, they helped us realize we needed a different type of bike that was much less expensive than we anticipated. They referred us to a place that sells the bike as well. Truly, the staff at JS Cycle want what is best for you.

I walked in with my bike after not really riding it for a few years because it needed so much work. They basically gave me a new bike. Changed everything that I needed with parts that weren’t super expensive and the service was fast, professional, and the space was clean. The people they were working there was super knowledgeable. The labor is not expensive $30/hr. Well worth it for the detail they put on my bike. They even made sure that my helmet that I was going to buy fit properly so that it can actually protect my head. They didn’t have to do that. I found my bike shop in NYC! 😊😊

The most helpful bike shop!! Took a bike in I’ve been having problems with for years and they were the only place to not only fix it but to take the time to explain what was wrong and actually teach me what was happening. On a very busy evening, bike was fixed in just a few minutes and they even stayed late to accommodate everyone getting their bikes serviced for the weekend. The customer service is EXCELLENT. This place is a well-oiled machine, friendly, and so knowledgeable.

What an amazing customer experience! I was recommended to Js cycle by a friend. I was scared that like most bike shops, they were just going to try to sell me any bike. From the first interaction with Juan and his wife Maria I knew this wasn’t that kind of place. He measured me to make sure I would get the perfect bike right for my size. My sport mountain bike was sitting in my hallway collecting dust for about 7 years. I took my bike to JS Cycle and requested a tune up. There was no air in my tires and it was dirty of course. I dropped it off at 6p and they had it ready for me by 6:45p. The manager made sure to get it back to me the same day so I could enjoy the weather on Sunday. She also texted me once it was ready so I didnt have to wait around. Excellent service especially during this quarantine time. Their very knowledgeable at JS and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a high quality road bike as well.

Great bike spot. Theres a guy named Juan who works there and hes so honest. Hell never lie to you about upgrading parts when your bike dont need it unlike other bike stores. Hes a real pro. He knows his bikes. Way better than Larrys Freewheeling on 110th and central park.

I went in thinking I needed to do a major repositioning on my brakes and gear shifts to help my back. Maria looked at the bike, looked at me on the bike and said - Really, I know my job is to sell, but honestly, you dont need all that. That wont solve your problem. I had experienced two flat tires with in a weeks time frame. Went in for a suggestion on if I should replace my current tires with a better set. Came out in less than 20 minutes with two great new tires at a reasonable price. Such a help!

This place is the best. I spent years working on my own bike with home tools and YouTube videos because I didnt want to deal with the insufferable, condescending hipsters I kept finding at bike shops. I recently ran into a problem I couldnt solve myself and took it to JS and learned from real pros how many things I didnt know, expressed in an honest, helpful way. Now I take everything more serious than a flat tire to them and theyre always fantastic, not to mention affordable.

JS Cycle was an outstanding choice. This is the shop you want if you are looking for a place that knows and loves bikes. To me, Its always a good sign when professional bike racing is playing in the background. The bikes they sell appear to be top-of-the line but the mechanic treated my banged up street-commuter with the same attention and care as he would any other. He helped me make selections for a new handle-wrap and even threw in a couple of discounted services in my basic tune-up. I have been looking for my bike place - a shop to handle all of my bike repairs etc. and I have found it at JS Cycle. After my tune-up, I felt like I had a brand new bicycle and couldnt wait to speed downtown on the West Side Highway. On top of all that, Maria and Juan were notably friendly and personable. The owners of this shop are amazing and I cannot express the depth of my gratitude for them and how they treat their customers. I brought my Cervelo in to have them quote the cost of replacing the wheel sets and the rotors and part of the crank set that were stolen off of the bike.They were closing in 30 mins and I just thought I would be dropping off the bike and they would give me a quote on Sunday or Monday. The owner and his awesome wife started talking abut the previous treatment that I received at the first “local” Trek shop in my neighborhood. They were visibly upset at how much they were trying to charge me. They instead gave me a quote that would replace the parts for half the money and with better quality parts then I was first quoted. And they immediately started working on the bike. They told me to sit and relax and they were going to take care of everything for me. It’s unbelievable that they are willing to work all day and then take on a task like his when they are closing. I was speechless.I am so grateful that I brought it back here. I bought it here for an incredible deal. And I should not have gone anywhere else when I needed replacements parts. They treated me like family and I’m such uncertain times socially and financially it means lore than I think they know. I really appreciate the urgency, kindness, and sincerity with which they run their business. I wish more owners were like them. It’s unparalleled, and I have given their names to friends and acquaintances in the past and I will continue to do so in the future.

They quoted me a cost, and then even brought the cost down when they it turned out to be less work than they previously thought (many other places would just not tell you and rip you off). I brought my bike in to realign some parts after a dooring incident. The guy (who I assume was Juan based on other reviews) worked on it immediately and was happy to explain what he was doing when I expressed interest in learning. He also made a small unrelated adjustment to the gears. I told him I hadnt gotten the bike tuned up in a couple years and asked if there was anything else it needed; he assured me that my bike was good to go and charged me only a nominal fee for the adjustments. While I was there a couple came in with their baby and were very friendly with the owners and also with me, which added to the neighborhood vibe of the shop. This was my first time here but Im a convert—this will be my bike shop going forward!

Got a basic tune up, new cables, wheels trued, and was in and out in less than 30 mins! It’s the end of April! That alone warrants 5 stars. Also I spent about half what I’ve been charged at most places for the same services! AND was encouraged to NOT replace any parts yet! This place is definitely one of my new favorite local businesses. I bought new cycling shoes from this shop. The shoes were very reasonably priced. They have a good selection of cycling accessories at various price points (which is less common than you would think) which are very reasonably priced for a Manhattan shop.

This bike shop is terrific! My bike had a brake issue and Maria and Juan fixed it within minutes of me showing up at the shop. On top of that, they did a full mechanical checkup and a complete scrub down or the bike in 24 hours. Highly recommend them!

The customer service is amazing.The reason why I am such an avid supporter of JS Cycle is that they are honest and do not try and make unnecessary repairs or charge you for parts that you dont really need.An unnamed bind shop (on the Eastside) claimed that I needed quite a few extra parts. By chance, I stopped by JS and was informed that there was no need for the extra items as they are not faulty.I will always support honest businesses that care about the customer. Recently had to have a pair of Scott cleats replaced under warranty that I had purchased from another shop. JS Cycle was speedy and gracious in their handling of the replacement and immediately called me upon their receipt of the replacement shoes. I went it looking for tools to install my new clipless pedals and he ended up offering to install them for free. I came back 5 minutes later and was done in another 5 minutes. Great prices & service! Im not a serious racer, I mostly just ride around to commute or take weekend trips, and when I need a helmet or a bike pump or something, they always steer me to the good enough and fairly priced option, which tends to be less than I might have paid on Amazon or wherever.

The woman told me that my bike tires are still in a good conditions and they dont need to be changed. It was right solution. Also I got some stuff for my bike. They repaired well. They were helpful. Thanks JC Cycle. I really recommend this place.

Great small shop operated by a couple. During the off-season, they do not have regular hours despite what Google says, so call ahead--someone may be in the shop. They replaced my worn bottom bracket in 20 mins, and also did some front end adjustments for me. Everything was explained in plain English. Such great people--wish they had been here years ago when I lived across the street (but especially grateful for them since we lost ModSquad)!

I didnt even know they existed and happened to walk by one day, and since then its the only bike shop we use.Not only are they really knowledgable (as any bike store should be), but they are also such caring people. When we asked about extending the stem on one of our bikes to install a child seat, they looked into it and eventually recommended to us not to do it for safety reasons--which meant losing a sale. But, of course, we were grateful they had warned us of a potential issue so well be back for more bike maintenance in the future!And as a bonus, the store isnt cramped. So many bike stores in NYC cram in as many bikes as they can (which is understandable with the high rents), but this one is very comfortable.
