This bike store is wonderful. I am 68 years old with a really bad back and I can’t walk. My 30 year old bike is my only way to get around and the handlebars were way to low. Will changed them so I can sit upright, gave me a new super comfortable seat, and gave the bike a tune up. I am thrilled to be able to enjoy my bike again. Even better he was very reasonable and did it it a day.

Took my bike in and it was fixed quickly. People were very friendly. Definitely would return!

Needed a cassette replacement. Dropped my bike off when they opened at 12:30 and the bike was ready by 3pm. The price was also great! - cheaper than it would have taken me to buy the parts/tools

These guys are great! my front wheel was stolen last night, and I was worried because I needed to bike to frisbee practice right after work. I dropped it off during my lunch break, and they were super fast, friendly, and helpful. when I came back I didnt initially realize what a great job they did for such a reasonable price! they really went above and beyond. will be coming back again, hopefully for a different reason :)

Don’t take your scooter here! They claim they know how to fix ninebots but they messed mine up. It wasn’t put back together properly and my brakes stopped working because of it. They didn’t take any responsibility and just told me to get new brakes. Not surprised though, they were very unprofessional and were smoking pot while I was there. They overcharge people and their sloppy labor takes forever. Do not recommend! Take your business to Spokesman Cycles, they know what they’re doing.

I brought my specialized mountain bike stumpjumper.The service was quick right to the point and now my bike rides great.I had some issues with my shifters.They work great now and shift very smoothly.My bike also came back cleaner from the gunk and He spent time explaining to me how I should maintain my bike.Great store great service.It is now my go to .Vic.

Mediocre unprofessional service. Went to get a flat tire fixed here when I was far from home.Mechanic wasnt thorough at looking at bike and discussing its quirks and challenges beforehand when I dropped off the bike. He seemed to be in a hurry to get rid of me instead of taking a minute to give the bike a good look and talking things over. After the job was done, the mechanic complained about how I left the bike configured (I could have easily changed/removed things if he had asked before when I dropped off the bike) and he complained that it was hard to deal with (my bike didnt have anything a city bike mechanic wouldnt have seen before if not regularly).The flat fix was also not thorough. To fix a flat properly, while the tire is off the bike the tire should be inspected inside and out to find any remaining sharp objects that caused the flat, so the next tube isnt doomed to getting punctured in the same way.I got a flat again shortly after leaving this shop. Fortunately this time I was close enough to home to use my own bike stand and tools to fix the new flat myself. Ironic that I was redoing the work I had just paid to be done earlier that day. When I inspected the tire I found a fairly obvious nail, shown in the pictures. If the mechanic had given any effort to inspecting the tire, he would have found this obvious nail and prevented the repeated hassle of another flat. Im guessed he just hurriedly stuffed another tube inside to rush things along and move on prematurely.I thought that it would be worth the money to have a mechanic fix my flat where they can work faster and easier in shop setup for service vs my small apartment miles away with tools tucked away that Id have to dig out. Im happy to pay for convenience and quality service, but going to this shop was a mistake. In retrospect, I would have been better off spending that money for an Uber/Lyft to get home to personally do thorough job of fixing my flat the first time, and also not have to listen to a mechanics BS complaints.Im sure being the unprofessional guy that he is (and how he replies to the other reviews), hell deny that this nail was there when he worked on the bike instead of owning up to it and learning from it.Mr Mechanic, if you just tried a little harder to do jobs to completion, eg looking out for sharp objects in tires when fixing flats, and also taking a minute beforehand to talk about customers about details and challenges, you could save yourself and customers unneeded hassle and loss of time.Im guessing though this is one of those situations where theres an endless supply of customers who need bike help because its a big city, so theres no need or impetus for this guy to get better and be more professional to retain and get repeat customers. Hell still get plenty of business, sadly.Definitely not coming back here myself. Maybe there are shops elsewhere in NYC that are better. However, in the future Ill probably just pay for SUV cabs to get home and further fill out my collection of bike tools to do my own work, and avoid these costly and disappointing bike shop service crapshoots.

Bought two used Trek hybrid bikes from here for wife and myself after seeing a post for them in FB marketplace. Bikes have turned to be good after a months usage. Will and crew were great to talk to and we got a lot of tips from them about biking in NYC and the best way to take home to Jersey City on the Subway. Couldnt help but notice Wills resemblance to Jeff Bridges from the Lebowski movie. He really is a dude :)

I purchased a used bike from Will, my first bike in nyc and my first bike purchased as an adult. I was nervous due to my limited experience but Will put me at ease and was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I chose a Trek bike they hadn’t quite finished yet but Will and his guys had it ready within 48 hrs and set me up with a helmet, lock, and demo of the gears etc. before sending me off on my first ride in at least 5 years. It’s true, you never really forget how to ride a bike! I’m so grateful to have found this shop, definitely a neighborhood gem. Thank you!!

Took my 83 Schwinn in for a new fork after mine got bent back when a box truck ran me off the road. Will gave me options over an SMS conversation for the replacement part: new, but cheap; used and good quality; and finally, new but slightly less quality (still good though). Customer service was excellent, and Ill most likely be back for service before my tour across NY State.

Place hooked me up with a new tire on a vintage bike I couldn’t get worked on at other shops. These guys are great.

This is a true honest genuine neighbourhood bike workshop. Will is an easy going dude and he actually cares about the people who enter to his shop. Humanity is the feature that best describes this place in my opinion. About the job he did on my bike, it was nothing complicated but it was perfect. I brought the bike at noon and they sent me a text a couple of hours later to tell me that it was ready. Super service, totally recommended!

Fast and friendly bunch. They replaced my brake pads, tires, bar tape, and trued my wheels in < 2 hours. The price was reasonable for the work done, and they didnt try to tack on any unnecessary repairs. I would say this was one of the better or best experiences Ive had with a bike shop in NYC over the last five years.

Will and his team have been there for our bikes since we moved into the neighborhood years ago - I was initially disappointed when I heard he was moving, but then discovered that he was still close by on 2nd. Always helpful, thoughtful, practical with suggestions, super professional, gets stuff done how and when he says he will. Never upsells or pushes anything you dont want. Always our go-to for bike stuff big and small.

Im a city biker that sometimes rides 200 miles a week so I have a lot of experience with different people in bike shops and it was such a relief that he didnt give me unsolicited diagnoses about everything thats wrong with my bike and he was just willing to fix what I wanted to fix in for a very very good price, and he was thorough and very knowledgeable. This place is an oasis in an increasingly intimidating ugly capitalist gentrification process.

This dude charged me 15 bucks to put a chain on that I provided. Talk about over priced!!!! Terrible store I’m surprised they had the funds to move to a new location. I could’ve went to Franks on grand street and paid 5 bucks I’m sure. Now let’s see the lame excuse they come up with when they respond to this review.

Days before my bike chain start behaving weird until it broke down and this was the closes place to go. I dont know what he did but he just put a new chain but did not fix the issue now my chain is again starting to becoming loose. In top of that the dude charged me 50 bucks and told me to come back to give him 20 for service (which was terrible) if you want i professional place I recommend al cycle solution in 47st they give discount to costumers and are pros on fixing.

Theyre liars, blah blah blah. Last Thursday I was there, and I explained to him that I had a flat tired, and the brand of the scooter, the blah blah blah told me to bring it on Saturday that we will fix it here. . . !!. . . And what happened today Saturday; I pay a taxi that cost me $ 16, and when I get to the shop, does this same person tell me in a state of confusion? We do not have the spare, we have to order it. . . ? Like that, you told me on Thursday that I was fixing it and the blah blah (Change of opinion) has if we fear it but today I can not give it to you. . . Where a change of a tired is done in 5 mins, and there were no customers waiting?Vote $ 16 for one of these blah blah blah, no professionalism
