One of the worst experience with the staff. Please Never EVER give them your ID. They lost my New York State ID. The staff member ( Valeria was the name) was definitely a careless employee who didn’t care to check the name/photo before giving my ID to someone else.I had to call the cops to file a report for lost property. I wasted almost 2 hours there and all they cared was to get me out of the store so they could close the store so they don’t have to pay their employees ‘overtime’. The employees didn’t seem to be bothered much about the mistake they did. One of the employee said, ‘why are you asking me for ID, did you give it to me?’ And that wasn’t a fair statement to make to a customer whose ID your coworker lost few mins agoLet’s not forget that I requested that I want to hold my ID as they already have my credit card charged. They can bill me if I don’t return but I wasn’t allowed that possibility and ended up loosing and wasting my time.I wasn’t compensated (I did ask to refund what I paid for the bike which they said they did, but I don’t think that justifies the awful experience I had at this place). After the cops came and started asking them questions, they started making calls (which they said they don’t have numbers or don’t save customer data after they leave but magic happened as soon as the police asked them the question) and found that one of the customer was given my ID.

Love this place! Valeriya is helpful and knowledgeable and the bikes are always in excellent condition. I really appreciate their flexibility with the hours since I like to ride for hours every weekend. Will always rent from them.

Sorry to mention that customer services and staff were not friendly. I asked them if one or two hours for a loop ride. They said it might be 1 or 2 hours. I asked them to play safe 2 hours. they said SURE. I finished a loop within 55 minutes. they refused to refund. they never warned us about the policy or explain us in writing. PLEASE do not put 2 or more hours. just put one hour then you can pay the difference. They have no respect at all. Please find other providers.

We got a good deal from a representative standing on the corner of the street who walked us to the store. The bikes were in good working condition. We were not offered any headgear or helmet to wear while on the ride. I think that is the only thing negative I could say about my experience. I would rent from this store again if I were to ride in Central Park.

Worst experience ever.I used to love rent a bike in this shop, loved it literally. However, when it comes to purchase used scooter, worst in the world. On their web page, it says BIKE no visible damages or blemishes but mine had plenty of it. According to young man over there, I purchased scooter, not bike. So even this statement is in E-scooter description, not applicable because its saying BIKE, not scooter. I asked if there are any other ones, and he said no. I wonder what they are gonna do if another customer purchased and came for picking up since they dont have any other used scooter to sell. At the end, I asked if I can have a wipe (pretty dusty), and he even refused it, not even paper towels (provided after couple times of asking). What kind of service is this? There is a gentleman (not sure he is the manager or owner), he was the only one explained and tried to find the middle point between me and the store. I shouldve asked his name, so at least I can mention it here, so for others when they go to the store, you could look for him, not the other one.

Shout-out to Alex & Co...after a looooooong search that took me through weeks of online shopping and visiting several shops in the BX & within the city I was able to find something used* (but they have plenty bre bikes) to my liking, within budget and best of all had all my questions answered, no problems. A fantastic experience. This was a great way to get the most out of the park. We rode around the entire park and it was not strenuous at all. Bicycles are ILLEGAL in New York City! Under New York City law, you CAN NOT operate a bicycle within the city. You can NOT operate a bicycle on the street. You can NOT operate a bicycle in any parking lot or alleyway. Neither can you operate a bicycle on the sidewalk. Its even illegal to have POSSESSION of a bicycle if you live in New York City. Violations carry up to 5 years imprisonment on Rikers Island.This and ALL bicycle rental agencies and ALL bicycle shops need to relocate OUTSIDE of New York City. New York City is a citywide No-Bicycle Zone. Street, alleyway, parking lot, and sidewalk.

My husband and I purchased a Groupon for a 2 hour scooter rental and received the worst customer service here in the entire state of New York. Perhaps even the entire country. The woman at the front desk refused to accept our voucher - first saying that you must wait at least 24 hours before you can use it and insisted that the terms stated this policy. When I read the entire thing and showed her that it did not say that anywhere in the fine print nor on their website, she then changed her mind and said that our Groupon was not for their store and that we were at the wrong place. After I confirmed that we were, in fact, at the correct place by confirming the name and address, she said we could speak to her manager. We waited 15 minutes while the manager continued to walk past us, ignore us, and help other people who were walking into the store after us. We were extremely patient. He finally asked “what’s up guys?” (clearly annoyed), and after explaining the situation, he said they would not accept the Groupon unless we made reservations (NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT IS REQUIRED). When I asked if we could make reservations for later in that day, he said no, they have no availability… despite having an entire store of bikes and scooters that were charged and ready to go. Some more people walked in behind us without a reservation, paid cash, and were given some scooters right away. Clearly, these folks do not want to accept Groupon vouchers. If that’s the case, THEY SHOULD REMOVE THEIR GROUPON OFF OF GROUPON. Even if the “manager” would have tried to accommodate us and asked if he could offer the same deal if we paid cash, we would have done it! But they literally had zero interest in our business.Moral of the story - DO NOT TRY TO USE GROUPON HERE. They will be very rude and give you an extremely hard time. 0/10 do not recommend. Go to Fancy Apple Bike Rental right down the street instead . They were so nice and a much better deal!!!!

My wife, daughter and I decided yesterday to rent a bike to ride in Central Park. After doing a quick search in the Groupon website, I found an option to buy tickets for 2 hours with discounts. We bought the tickets and headed directly to the store without a reservation.When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and clarified our questions about my purchase, they provided all details regarding the bikes, child seat and also the best way to enjoy the ride in Central Park.We got two new bikes. I enjoyed my bike, the ride was smooth and my wifes bike was really good but was bit small for her height. Next time we will try another bike bigger than the one used today.

Store assistant encouraged me to take it for a test ride in Central Park and then helped me choose the right accessories. Really happy with my purchase and experience in the store.

Bikes were ok. Helmets and chains were available. Maps were provided as well. My sons bike had some issues, but it did the job.The experience was good fun for the family.

This is a tourist trap/scam; they are lying to make you book online and then they don’t have the kids bike they confirmed over the phone. would not recommend at all this rental store. Go a few blockS north and you will find much better prices and bikes

Just do it and rent the bike. They give you 10 minute late period, which is out of courtesy super nice. One day I came back 20 minutes late and they didnt charge me extra because they had extra bikes to offer other customers. Im not saying anyone should do that but honestly their sincerety makes me come back to rent their bikes all the time.

I dealt with two individuals on May 7th, one with being a mechanic and possibly the manager. I was very disappointed with their treatment. I was accused of lying, told I had dropped the bike and that I didnt need the dial to indicate which gear I was on. I was told to stop speaking, accused of lying, told I didnt know what I was speaking about, and was interrupted numerous times. It wasnt until I showed them a picture of the bike on the day I purchased it did they walk away, reluctantly fixed it, and then didnt inform of me of when it was fixed.It was by far one of the most degrading experiences I have ever encountered by two men. When I was allowed to get a word in, I informed them that I was told mechanics are 100% covered and when they asked Eric Im not sure if he confirmed or not as he decided to take a bike a ride away. This information was also confirmed by their management offices,I am happy with the purchase of my used bike but incredibly disappointed by mistreatment by the two men in their shop.

We had an issue with our bikes but they were fixed right away. Sometimes it gets a bit hectic but with little patience its a pretty simple process. Very helpful with NYC information.

⃝ Me, my wife and my two kids rented bikes for two hours in August 19. The bikes were in great shape, and the service was excellent. I am so happy that we decided to rent the bikes through Bike Rent NYC instead of through one of those services that are offered along the way to the Central Park. I forgot to pick up my driver license after returning the Bikes and Keara got in touch with me to let me know that they had it there and she sent it to me at no cost all the way to Spain. Thank you so much. That is an outstanding customer service.

Please be careful, if it rains, you will not get your money back, despite what we were told by our guide. We came back and they accommodated us another day but as I understand the forgot to schedule the guide. Our guide, Lyle who did make it, was knowledgeable and great. The front desk is fine, but their policies are not customer friendly.

We were casually walking around the Central Park and noticed how a lot of people were on bicycles. Since the Park is huge and we had our kids with us we decided to ask around where we can rent them and almost all of the people that we asked told us to visit this place. For sure this place were the right place to go. The prices were VERY cheap. The service? OUTSTANDING!!!! Everyone was so nice I felt like we were welcomed there with open arms. This is definitely the place to go! I suggest it to everyone whether you’re visiting the city or live here. Thank you guys. What an amazing place. Thanks guys.

We did the tour by bike with our twin sons of 15. Our guide was Jennifer and what a great job she did! She showed us the park through her eyes and we fell, just like her, in love with this green beauty. It was a pleasant ride with balance between info and fun. Really something not to miss when visiting New York. For us as a family, for sure one of the experiences that will make us come back to the big 🍏! 👍🏻

My wife and I went on the Brooklyn Bridge tour with Marci on Sunday, Sept 6 (Labor Day Weekend). We are from Richmond, VA. Somewhat strenuous on way up BB - rest was very easy. It was an awesome experience - weather was incredible. We have never seen the city from this perspective. Its almost worth travelling to NYC for just this tour. We got to the shop about 5 minutes early - had to wait a bit as they launched some folks just renting bikes. Eventually got two sturdy bikes and helmets. Good brief by Marcie and off we went. Joined to great ladies from the UK - total of 5 in our group. Stopped at several points along the way - Marcie gave us some local history. Ascending the Brooklyn Bridge mid point was probably peak moment. I just cannot say enough great things about this trip. I felt like I saw more of Manhattan than if I lived here full time. Well worth the money. Tom runs a great shop. Dont miss this tour!!

I had a fantastic time. A couple of patrons were rude but staff was great and tour guide - Phillip, was not just touring the park, he gave us advice on the city itself. I took his advice and went to Ditmars Ave for the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had. Thank you for this great experience and history lesson.

We used this Bike shop as it was included in our Sight Seeing pass, bike insurance was optional at $2 per bike. The hire shop is a 2 minute walk from central park. Helmets (optional but advisable) and bike locks included but if you wanted a bracket on each of the bikes this would be an additional $5 each. Really nice staff members! who took our details and explained the bike hire was for so many hours. They gave us a map of central park to be able to know where we was going. If we wanted we could have joined a tour but this would have been an additional cost. Cycling through central park was lovely, the bikes where really easy to return.

Awesome experience. Our tour guide Richard was knowledgeable and passionate. The people at the shop were friendly and helpful. Couldnt have been better. Note that there is another bike company that takes New York Pass too but they DONT take it for guided tours. These guys do and it costs less (if youre paying, but of course its free with the New York pass). Word of warning.... you should show up 30 minutes early for guided tours... we intended to but got there only 15 minutes before and just barely got the last 3 spots on the tour.

My daughter’s and I went on the best pedicab tour in Central Park with ZaZa!!! He became our friend by the end of the tour! He was so sweet and would go the extra mile to tell us where to take pictures and even came down to take our pictures...which came out amazing! Too much fun and best experience of our trip so far!!!!

Set up private 3 hour tour online - Jennifer was our guide - she was great - be sure to ask for her. - fantastic time touring Central Park and riding all the way down the west side to the 911 museum. They allowed us to store our bikes at their Brooklyn bridge store until we were finished with the museum and then rode them back up the east side back to the 58th street store. All around a great experience.

Bad bikes. And the worst customer service i have ever encountered, especially from the manager JOHN.They first gave me a bike with brakes that did not work and when I wanted to return/ exchange it few minutes later they did not care. They also charged me for another bike I purchased without even checking, until i brought up to their attention.The manager was extremely rude to the point were he was shouting and using foul language. I even asked him politely to calm himself but he did not even try to mitigate.His own team actually tried to help out which I like to give credit for.I really hope you take my review into consideration

GREAT price for the service delivered. Fast check-in, includes helmets in the price. Got two bikes for two hours for less than the price of one bike for that in many places. Bikes were pretty good, but had a little slack in the gears that stopped me from rating five stars. Considering the price, absolutely the best deal going.

Me and my family use Central Park Bike Tours twice a month and we love it!! The staff there are really nice and friendly and their bicycles are high quality . My coworkers and I do several private bike tours through out the year and all of the tour guides they have are very knowledgeable of not only Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge but also the city as a whole. I highly recommend Central Park Bike Tours to all bike lovers !!!

Visited NYC for 3 days and took the bike tour of central park. The guide was really good and had good knowledge of central park and surrounding areas. The guide gives 10-15 minutes at each of the 5-6 points.They also gave very good bikes to all the members. Well maintained and pretty light weight. Easy to drive unlike those citi bike stands. They also give hourly bike rental. It was good experience overall. I would recommend this tour for anyone visiting NYC or even if you want hourly bike rentals. This is pretty good option.They can probably work on getting a little friendly staff in the office.

This place absolutely discriminated against a friend of mine. He walked in with cash in hand and wanted to test ride the bike and was told no, meanwhile a white customer in the store was allowed to test ride. He asked to have the bike cleaned and was told as is or $10, the white client had the bike cleaned free of charge. The people here suck and this business should be boycotted for their ignorance!

I go there every once a week. I have went to almost every other bike rental store but this is definetly the best place i have been to so far. The guys are outstanding. The prices are very cheap. The bikes are in perfect shape, just like brand new. And most importantly the service.

Rented a bike here for the NYC Five Boro bike race. I booked in over the phone, staff was helpful. Bikes are in good shape. Get the lock with the big chain easy to just lock up anywhere in the city.

My husband and I have rented bikes here a few times. We had never had problems in the past, but this last time we rented 2 tandem bikes and 1 regular bike for 5 total people for 2 hours. We rode inside Central Park only, on the proper tracks, with no falls. Towards the end, one of the chains randomly broke on the tandem bike while riding. One of the chain pieces had completely broken into half and the bike couldnt be peddled. We all had to walk our bikes for a little over 20min back to the bike shop.When we arrived and notified them of what happened, the shop owner rudely fined us $50 for the broken chain, when in fact they had lent us a faulty, unkept bicycle. When we told them we didnt feel the $50 was justifiable, he refused to talk to us and refused to give my husband his ID back. Eventually, the cashier girl started bargaining the broken chain fee, down to $15. At that point, I threatened to call the police for soliciting money for no reason. They finally gave up and handed my husbands ID and we left. Needless to say, we will not return.

Stuff was very helpful. Unbelievable customer service. This is the best bicycle shop in the city. Bikes are very clean and comfortable to ride. I have to say the experience went far and above what I expected.

Im angry that I spent so much money on something so worthless. I suspect the ride could have been better if wed had a different tour guide. Unfortunately I didnt catch his name. He took off without any sort of explanation. He crossed busy roads and left the group behind that didnt make it through the light. He often had us leave our bikes and walk us far from them leaving me worried that my bike was going to be stolen. We decided against getting insurance on the bike because we thought wed be riding them. If Id known wed be leaving the bikes so often and walking far from them, I definitely would have gotten the insurance so I could have actually been with the group instead of lingering by my bike to prevent it from being stolen. Additionally the guy spoke so softly that only those standing directly in front of him could actually hear what he was saying. It was super frustrating and Im angry with myself for spending so much money when I could have just rented a bike for two hours for much cheaper.

They took great care of us. We have 2 young children and they made sure they assisted us correctly. They were very nice and helpful.

Dont recommend this place. We went there with the New York pass and were told theyre not providing services with the New York pass anymore. We were about to leave and another guy from this rental place stopped us and told us that they actually Do offer the rental with the New York pass but we would have to pay $7 for each person. When we refused to pay he went down to $5.50, because we were such pretty ladys - we left and went to another bike rental place, where we got the bikes for free with the New York pass. Really unprofessional service!

It was a great experience renting bikes from this company. We got our bikes really fast for a good price and the staff was really helpful. Also the price is really affordable and it is a great opportunity to see New York. I would rent bikes there again and can recommend this provider.

This was the worst experience I had on our trip to New York City. The bike tour was one of the things I was looking forward to on our trip. We were supposed to go to the Central Park tour where there is a guide who leads you through the Park, but we were not aloud to make reservations because we were going to use are city passes. If you were going to use the city passes, you were only aloud to just bike around Central Park for a couple of hours, which was fine with us. That wasnt the bad part. So once we got out there (I had to ride a tandem with my dad because I had a broken arm) the tandem seat was so loose that we had to stop so many times, it was ridiculous. And it is not like we could of just taken it back to get it fixed, because we were like 5 blocks away. So the whole time, my seat kept going back. The front seat was also screwed up; it was moving around, but not as bad as the back seat. Also, the gears were messed up too. And then when we were done, we demanded a refund, but they do not give refunds. It was the worst part of our whole trip, I would not go if I were you. Horrible.

I would NOT recommend this company, especially if you have a New York pass.On Oct 11th, they refused to provide us the 3 hour free rental; they asked us $5,5 p.p.I showed the guy at the reception the official web site of the NY pass (see attached image), on which is specified that the rental is included in the pass, but he clearly said that they do not apply that condition.Very disappointed

Tony was our guide. Very informative with good knowledge of the park, its history, and its surroundings. Nice relaxed pace. Tony and his helper were very helpful fitting the bike for my wife.

A little slow with the set up and instructions on using the e-bike. The bikes were new, however half way through our ride the chain broke on one of the bikes. We called, gave our location and they came right away to bring us another bike and extended our time by an hour. Onecio (sp?) who delivered the new bike was very knowledgeable and gave us some more pointers on the e-bike.

My wifes chain came off during our ride right after it started raining. It took about 30 minutes to fix it and we were unable to contact the company due to poor cellular service. When we returned, the manager (owner?) advised that he would give us another hour. (during the rain?) He refused to refund any money ($10 would have been acceptable) and didnt care about our experience. Poor customer service!!!

I booked in advance for the tour with my 11 year old grandson - we went on 5th July - 11.00 tour - it was very busy getting registered etc - however I had requested a small bike for my grandson and this was available - we also got helmets and I was given a basket also - the tour started promptly - we walked the short distance to Central Park - after a safety briefing and overview we took off - I took a few minutes to get familiar with the bike - not a problem - our Guide Ross was informative and entertaining - he made sure all the group were present and told us in advance where we were headed at each stop - the pace was quick but not too fast and we had plenty of time for photos and looking around - it was really worth doing and I would recommend this tour to anyone thinking of an outdoor activity in New York

If I could give 0 stars I would. After promising their bikes were new - we were given bikes that were a looooonnng in the tooth, but it’s such a hustle that your on the street with the crappy bike before you can protest. We headed off to the park to find SURPRISE, not only do the bikes look terrible, the gears don’t work!! We rented for 2 hours, but it was miserable, so we returned after an hour. I asked for an hour refund and they said they don’t give refunds. BUT they’d be happy to give me another 2 hours on a crappy bike. Ummm...no thank you. AVOID.

Complaining and and not willing to help, throwing the bikes towards us . If you dont enjoy your job work somwhere else .

If I could give 0 stars I would.They are fast to get you all set up and onto your ride and take your money (although the ladies at the front desk area are also rude). But they gave me a bike with a front brake that didnt work and the rubber on the handle was completely coming off. The helmet broke halfway through our bike ride through central park. When we came back to the location and returned the bikes and I asked to speak to a manager this guy Jack Nielsen came and said they could give us 2 hours free later in the week (we were only in NYC for 2 days so I didnt have any interest in that). Besides ... I had a bike that didnt work and a helmet that fell off .... what the heck was I paying for?No refund, told the mananger who didnt speak good english Id contact the BBB and he didnt flinch ... so now Im following up on my word and warning others about their horrible service.

I rented a road bike for one day. The offer was very misleading. Showing bikes which are for sales only and then you get a very old and weak maintained road bike instead. By weak maintained I mean not correctly adjusted front derailleur, dirty bike, weared tires, almost no break power due to weared pads!!! It was definetely not worth almost 100 bucks for one day!

What an amazing experience! My family was here for a couple of days, we did not have enough time to see the beautiful city of new york, but one of the guides suggested us to rent bikes and go to central park. And WOW what an unbelievable experience. They had all kinds of bikes. From regular one seater to two seater tandems. Children bikes and sports bikes. Not to mention the staff were so nice and helpful. I HIGHLY recomment this place. The next time me and my family comes to New York this is the first place we are going to! Thank you guys!

Guys i would say this is the best customer service i ever expirienced in my life.Bikes that they have for rent like a brand new,really comfortable ride.No matter where im going to be in a city,definitely going there to rent a bike.Prices are really cheap,and since i was first time renting they gave me some discount.Pleasure to work with you guys !
