Miguel & Leon are both hard-working, excellent technicians. For a small shop, its well stocked with a surprisingly large variety of accessories. Its great to have them in the neighborhood!

Bought two bikes from Innovation and they fix any little issue when I drop by, rarely charging me (so I tip them, which always seems like a surprise to them.). Miguel and Leo are both down to earth, knowledgeable, credible and easy going. They also have great hours. I regularly drop by on a Sunday evening.

I brought my bike in very bad shape. I had a broken gear wire and a broken wheel. They figured out all the problems and fixed and it immediately! I thought I would have to drop it off for a week to get service but they fixed it right away in store! Price was great, parts cost was very reasonable. I will definitely be back!

They are great! I came in hopeless with a tire I ordered online for my Ninebot Max scooter. the tire looked too small and I could never get it installed on my own. these guys did the work. professional!

Got a flat fixed for $16. Good shop for repairs. Small but good selection of merchandise for sale. They are poplular and need more mechanics to service their volume of business. There was a wait. Staff are polite.

Professionals that know what theyre doing. Went there to have my chainring spider on my Cannondale caad 12 changed out after stripping some bolts holes. Went for a slice of pizza and by time I came back it was done. Great price fast work cant ask for anything more!

Worst bike shop Ive ever been too! Be warned! They dont honor returns, will sell you a defective bike and when you complain theyll say its my word, against yours!

Brought my bike in a week ago cuz of a loose seat and a problem with the gears catching while on 7. After approx 5 mins of work, telling me that the problem was a loose rear wheel, I paid $30, which I thought was steep for that little labor, but was okay if it meant having the issue fixed. Not a day later, the gears start catching again. When I brought the bike back, the man told me the issue was a worn out chain & freewheel, and told me it would cost $80 to repair. Had high hopes for this shop after seeing the reviews, came away very disappointed : (

I highly recommend the shop and the team. They are my go to place for all my bikes. I bought a lightning R-38 recumbent bike in 2018 And was worried that I could not find a shop that could service it. Well no worries with that. Not only did the team feel comfortable with the bike the turnaround time and service was excellent. I had also brought in my felt Z 35 road bike back in April 2020 with a creek that I thought was due to the bottom bracket. thank goodness I did because they immediately figured out that a piece on the carbon frame that held the seat post had cracked. That could’ve gone very wrong. A week or so ago I had an accident on my new canyon endurance road bike and bent the front wheel. Instinctually I just went into the shop they said don’t worry about it they’ll look it over and within a day or so got back to me with what needed To be done. So now Miguel is rebuilding the front wheel and trying to see if they can get me back on the road by the weekend. As you can tell I am “a frequent visitor” and so can honestly recommend the shop to anyone.

My rear brake failed on an old bike. I first took the bike to a shop not too far away from both my home and Innovation. That shop said it couldn’t be fixed easily, plus the bike needed further work. The cost estimate was in excess of $300. I went to Innovation for a repair price comparison. Miguel said he could just replace the brake cable and the bike needed nothing further. He did this in about 20 minutes while I waited. Needless to say, the cost was nominal. Thanks, Innovation, for being honest and competent.

I had a great experience today. I needed a new brake pad and went before 10 am to wait. As the staff arrived on bikes to open the store, I was glad to see a diverse staff, including a woman! They were friendly, efficient and I was in and out promptly. Prices are good. I am happy to support this local business and will be back.

Friendly and fast. I got a tune up and it was done in a day... And it was price competitive. It can get pretty busy on the weekend, but would highly recommend if youre flexible or willing to wait.

This is definitely going to be the place Ill be getting repairs on my bike. Good guys in that shop. I was there in the winter and early in the morning, so service was great. I dont know how busy they get during bike season.

Very poor service, and expensive prices with no respect to customers. I asked them to fix my scooter, they said in 2 hours come back, then after two hours they didnt even start to fixing it and the guy was eating and responded very rude said you take it and fix it by yourself and I swear i was talking in a very respectful way.

This is a wonderful bike shop for both sales and services, including repairs and tune-ups. They took my 30 year old bike, which had been in storage for the last 10, and made it perfect again. Their prices are reasonable, and they are very fast (my bike was ready the next day). They are nice people, and they dont make you feel defensive about being older than 30 and not a professional cyclist. I love this shop.

Since the very first time I came inside the store, the staff was friendly and answered all my questions. I loved their costumer service, and the fact that do not have an attitude (opposite with other bike shops I went). Their prices are also fair and competitive. Innovation is the best bike shop in Uptown Manhattan!

I broke my shifter cable riding in Central Park this morning. I waited until 10 a.m. when the shop opened and called. The owner told me to come right over and he would repair it. 20 minutes later, I had a new cable and was good to go! $17 - very reasonable. Professional and helpful. This will be my go-to repair place. I already told my sister to go there for her repairs.

I received terrible service here. When I arrived no one wanted to help me. I waited 20mins until all conversations were done. I received no help with picking out a bike for my son. And if that wasnt bad enough I was charged $40 to install a kick stand(Not including the cost of the kickstand itself) which was poorly mounted to the bike. I hurriedly purchased the bike because I wanted to leave and did not want my son to leave empty handed. Big mistake on my part. My son has now outgrown his old bike and were looking for a new one for him and myself. There is no way I will go back to this shop. I always advise everyone I speak to to stay away from this horrible shop. Theres just too many other good options

Got a core-line State Bicycle and took it there to have it assembled. Just gave them the box, un-open, and trusted them completely. This only based on google reviews.When I picked it up, after a couple of hours, they received me kindly (they even complimented the bike), didnt even remove the protective materials the bike came in, and had a perfectly neat bag in which they put every item that came with the bike (instructions, warranty, etc).I said I was terrified of my bike being stolen and suggested cheap, perfect methods to avoid theft. I took it the next day to have them installed (so I could use the bike first and see the seat hight, etc) and they were again completely attentive, installed every item and charged me very little. Leo (the man who assembled the bike) said he wouldnt charge for some stuff since he had assembled the bike. Since I know nothing about these, he even suggested the places where the lock could be (I took my own lock BTW) and other good accessories.This was a great experience (and not every consumer experience in NY can be described that way) and was the perfect way to start my riding adventures in NYC.These guys are simple, trustworthy, good workers (which shows by the way the focus when they are working on a bike) quick, and exactly the kind of people one needs when having a bike fixed.Highly recommended. I have taken the bike up and down manhattan several times now without a single problem.

I bought a new Cannondale road bike here today, and the experience was perfect. They were very helpful in presenting different options to me, and when I selected a bike they were able to assemble it in literally 15 minutes. All I can say is that it was a fantastic experience, and Id recommend them 1000%.

You know how nowadays businesses are all about building a long lasting relationship? Well, this guys arent so much into that; theyre more like get paid here and now. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing, but it could throw you off when dealing with them.Example 1: you live nearby, want to buy a bike and youve liked their prices. Then go ahead, theyll probably treat you well and youll be back.Example 2: youre shopping for a specific part, which you know how to install, and youre on a budget. Then maybe [as it was my case] youll have a not-so-nice experience, since theyll push you into trying to install it themselves and charge you a lot for it.

This is how you run a bike shop. I have a novice road bike that needed a tune-up and some minor repairs. I explained to Leo that Im not a Lance Armstrong wannabe, just a guy who rides about 100 miles per week during the spring/summer. He was non-judgemental & made me feel comfy doin biz. My bike was ready when promised & he explained what was done without making me feel like the newbie I am

These guys are super in service. This is the type of shop you want to cultivate as your neighborhood to-go place -- knowledgable, ready to work on bikes when you need it, well-stocked. I use them mostly for repairs and have been really, really happy with them. Race and ride thousands of miles a year and can count on them.

I grew up on the UWS. The bike shop on 96th street was always where I went for bike needs because its visible. Its on a busy crosstown street and, and it was always crowded. Crowded wasnt ever a plus, it was always mayhem in there, but its what I knew. I cant say I received great service there, the employees were pretty abrupt if not rude. And I recall getting my bike back after having the tires trued, and having the feeling that nothing had been done to my bike.Well, I havent ridden my bike in YEARS. 6 at least but more like 10. My bike had collected dust and lost air in my storage room and, later it would be forgotten in the bike room in my building. Well, a bike need arose and I had to fish it out of the bike room. Covered in more dust, with grips that had decomposed, and tires that were lifeless, I decided to roll it to Innovation Bike shop on 106th. The reviews were great. And frankly, the idea of dealing with the 96th street shop didnt appeal to me at all.My Innovation Bike Shop experience was awesome. I walked in, was helped within 3 minutes, left my bike there on a Tuesday for a tune up, with a Friday pick-up. I was told that Id get a call if something was found during the tune-up that needed fixing. I received a call on Wednesday afternoon ... the bike was ready for pick-up. I almost didnt recognize the bike. There was NO dust on it. Not even on the odometer wires that snaked up the fork. The gears looked new, no dust caked grease anywhere to be found. The rims were shiny. And the grips I had picked out were on the handlebars. I couldnt believe how much care had been put into the tune-up. Innovation Bike shop is my new Bike Shop. And good riddance 96th street :)))))

Best Customer Service for repairs in the neighborhood!

The problem with most bike shops is bike shop attitude. When my 40+ bulky frame enters, all I get is snickering, smart remarks like you want a comfort bike, they show me all these seats with 2 inches of foam, joke about if I want a shopping basket, etc. They dont care that Ive been riding for 25 years; they are more interested in their jokes. I guess their problem is that although they do have jokes, they wont get my cash, which is what business is all about. So, I was delighted to discover Innovation Bike Shop where there is NO such attitude. Leo and Camie are not only both great guys with serious experience, but they sold me the bike I wanted to have. Sure, they made suggestions about which components to have and which not, but they did it respectfully and their ideas were great. The shop carries a great line of products for urban bikers. No matter if you are doing interval training in Central Park (when the boys in blue are not watching) or simply a street rider, you will be happy here. They truly do INNOVATE and came up with some great solutions. They know the city and what is important for NYC riders. They cannot do anything about the police, but they will tune you up to outrun them! I bought a Cannondale Bad Boy with disk brakes because it allows you to swap out wheel sets (700 X 23 mm for the road and 26 X 2 knobbies for the snow or trail). With all that wheel swapping, the disks required a bit of tweaking. The guys at Innovation Bike Shop were happy to do all that and FAST. I also gave them my 15 year-old GT hard-tail to tune up; that bike has been through thick and thin with me, from taxi collisions to 0-degree spills on the ice by the river in January. So, it has a few twists and curves in it that were not part of the original design. Nonetheless, Julio and Camie got that running so well, I almost wondered why I bought the Cannondale on my ride home. Altogether, this is a great bike shop located close by to Central Park, Columbia University, and Riverside Park. Their prices are fine and the work they do is superb. They rent bikes too, so avoid the lines at the tourist-traffic places further downtown.

Worst bike shop ever. Called ahead do you have toddler seats, sure and helmets. 15 block walk with child and no seats. The shop is a thousand sq ft. You should know whats in there.
