I enjoy the atmosphere here. The employees are warm and knowledgeable. You will get a good workout walking on the stairs to the different levels. Plus just wandering throughout the store with its lofty feel. There are so many inspiring ideas here with such great prices. Yes, they do have an elevator.

Absolutely horrendous experience. Stay far far away from an IKEA kitchens unless you want to wait 7 months and still not have all of the parts or counter tops installed and get no help or any customer service. Buyer beware. Don’t risk your home’s renovation project being massively delayed by purchasing with Ikea.

I came here at least 3 times trying to place two made orders with order numbers already in place, and not a single person (including the manager) here could address how to best handle multiple deliveries that may be needed (note the orders totaled approximately $1200). Moreover, the overall customer service to address concerns about timely delivery was abysmal. I canceled the orders.

My experience ordering a kitchen from IKEA:The entire process is a TOTAL mess.Staff are extremely friendly, informed and willing to help. The products are good and at a good price. The way we were assisted planning and designing the kitchen has been incredibly good. Everyone we spoke with over the phone has been super (weve probably spoken with about 40 different people in all).HOWEVEROrdering and delivery is an absolute disaster. Items are constantly out of stock, you have to spend endless hours on the phone hoping to get items added to your order, end up getting items shipped one by one. Now I am still waiting for a delivery that has been scheduled 4 times already, rescheduled twice, and failed to deliver twice. No one knows where the delivery is located, in the meantime this is delaying our project and wasting a lot of everyones time and effort.Instead of us spending so much time on the phone with IKEA customer service, wouldnt it be smarter for IKEA to allocate more resources in a proper ordering and distribution system?! Dont blame this on COVID< its the setup that is a mess.Do not order an IKEA kitchen if you want it to be delivered on time, and if you dont have time to spend hours on the phone.

Dreadful!!! stay away from this place as far as you can!!! I never experienced anything as bad as this!They dragged me for two months with the design and purchase of the kitchen, during which they kept losing my information and each time I came I had to restart the whole process from scratch. Their so-call designers are a bunch of incompetent people that one wonder where they find them. They dont have customer service so you cannot contact anybody for help. I managed to connect with the store manager and asked for his help, but he did not even care to answer my message let alone do anything. When I finally completed this torturous process and had everything ready for installation, they told me there is four(!) month waiting time. I had to return everything and get started from scratch elsewhere, where the whole process from beginning to end took three weeks and cost less than Ikea! Not only did Ikea caused me huge financial loss because of the delay, they also never fully refunded me for this ordeal.

I find most of the staff at this place unfriendly and disinterested. It would be nice if they were like the other stores on the block. I have been in this place a number of times and it is always the same. It is just unpleasant to be in the store. I went across the street to Home Depot today to see if I could get something similar from them.

I love Ikea you can always find something that you need for your apartment there and I have gotten so many ideas just by looking at their models for apartments or what you can do and mix and match so I would highly recommend going there its easy to get to And once youre done there theres so many different other stores that are in that area one being the container store which I personally can spend a lot of time, And of course Bloomingdales is within a close proximity and youre in a wonderful area on the upper east side and a plenty places to have a nice lunch as well .

I have been a customer of ikea for years when i seen there was one on 59th street I was extremely excited however, I walked in early this morning I was not greeted or offered any help. It was very cold, and unwelcoming. I wanted to purchase something but everyone seemed so standoffish. I was by the steps and someone of another race walked in and was greeted. I immediately felt as though I was not welcomed in the store and even when I walked out no goodbyes or anything below is a picture of what I wanted to buy i took the picture so that I can tell someone what I wanted but the experience made me change my mind sadly I will not be going back to that location or buying from ikea again

Okay, so let me try to understand what IKEA might have had in mind with the concept for this store - and why it failed:IKEA brought the concept of a walkable furniture warehouse to our species. Rent or build a big box warehouse in a cheap out-of-town area with excellent highway connection and people will flock to your space and pick up cheap, foldable disposable furniture optimized for shipping, transportation and space saving. As a furniture retailer you will save big on sales staff, rent, and delivery costs which will enable you to undercut your competitors on price especially if your product has Scandinavian style and a modern look. The problem is that many Manhattan millenials abhor private cars which they would need for a trip to your store in Elizabeth, NJ.This is where the IKEA Planning Studio comes in. After the walkable warehouse IKEA offers you a walkable catalog staffed by (largely underutilized) salespeople called planners.The IKEA studio ONLY presents the customizable parts of IKEAs product range, e.g. kitchens, closets, etc. - the stuff you might need help with anyway, even if you buy it at the traditional warehouse. You are supposed to engage in a planning session with one of the salespeople who will then order the stuff fof local delivery. The problem with that concept is that you cant really try out the stuff, you cant haul it away and start building immediately and you lose the cost savings because of the delivery fee.The great lack of the store is that you cant touch, feel, and immediately bag and haul items but that you have to go through the planners or online ordering from kiosks. Why come to the IKEA Studio if you can do that at home already?

I came here during the weekend and I had a great a experience. A man named kabob helped me order kitchen cabinets without fronts and helped me to pick out fronts that are on their way from another store. I came to him with my measurements and he planned it out for me. Made me an account so I can access it and show my contractor.

Absolutely atrocious Customer Service. I walked in to a mostly empty store and was completely ignored by the person at the front desk who was staring at their computer screen. Made my way downstairs to view kitchen counters and make a purchase inquiry. Every single employee ignored me while staring at their computer screen. I finally went back to the front desk to ask about making an appointment to speak to someone and the individual, without looking up from their screen, simply said I need to make an appointment online. They made no attempt to engage or assist me further. Great space if you want to wander around a quiet store while being ignored.

Pretty to walk around and look at small apartment options, but it was very different from other Ikeas visited previously in CT and CA. If you like something small, like a decoration, there is no section to just grab it, pay, and take it home. Maybe they are hidden, but staff werent available to ask about it. Also, no food court.

The space that Ikea has for the showroom is great and I highly suggest coming here. Just be sure to make an appointment prior to coming

Definitely a great place if you want to feel how bad their customers service is. I waited 1 hour and after of 1 hour of wait, I approached the counter and then lady decided to help me... then we all realized that the item is out of stock... I went to the store on recommendation of customer service associate over the phone... sad thing was the in the last 4 days I spent with them over 5 hours on the phone: NONE of the customer service reps ever used “I am sorry”. Literally none of them. Including managers... the best part was when they forced me to call my bank and ask them why my payment method is not going through. After spending time with my bank, Ikea guy told me: “oh, the rep added wrong billing address to your profile...” I really hope someone will work with their sales team and put the customer back to their attention. It’s sad how bad customer service they have.

This place is a scam. It has nothing to do with a real ikea. Do not got there. You will get charged for items that you did not order and there is no way to return them. The employees there only go through the online ikea catalog with you which you can do much faster and better from home. They are neither knowledgeable, nor well trained or even motivated.There is nothing you can buy there. They do have a very limited showroom (less than 5% the size of a real ikea) of a handful of poorly chosen repetitive items in different colors.Unfortunately, lacking other options, I agreed to delivery. They shipped wrong items. The delivery company is poorly coordinated with ikea. They will give you a 5h delivery window, in the best case, and refuse to carry the items up the stairs to your apartment. If there are items you did not want they will not take them back (despite the planning studio saying they do).The planning studio told me to toss the items and agreed to refund the items I did not order, but then NEVER actually refunded them. 3 months and endless emails later, they still try to get to a solution.Andrew (customer service) and Alexander (planning studio) have been a huge waste of my time. Save yourself the nightmares this place brings upon you and never go there.I have been a customer of ikea since over 20 years in various states and countries and never had a bad experience with ikea or their products. The experience I had with the ikea planning studio was the worst customer service experience I ever had.Do not go there. Get a car and go to the real ikea, order from amazon, buy furniture elsewehere, sleep on the floor, ... do anything to avoid this place.

I like to read the reviews to see if people actual used the service or just walked into a showroom. It seems that if you just walked in the reviews were more favorable than if you actually planned a room. That being said i love the fact that this is a free service to have someone help you with your small space challenges. I sat down with a guy for an hour who after going back and forth with kitchen cabinet placement (my head started to spin) i soon discovered they didnt have the cabinet doors available that i had my heart set on. He also tried to push some sales they were having. He saved and printed the two designs and gave them to me and i was dispatched. A few days later i looked online for an alternative cabinet doors and found something i liked OK. So when i tried to phone you are prompted to send an email. well, i sent an email. its going on a few days and i havent heard back. I assumed (my first mistake) is that they save your renderings so that you can access them in your Ikea profile page and if needed change it up later. My kitchen is 21x13 so i couldnt just pay 9k (including appliances) in that hour. I mean even he guessed the measurements. So far im not sure if they do or do not want you to have access to the work the designer did.

I placed an order for over 5K back in August. Confirmed everything was in stock only to find out a week before delivery a few of the items would not be delivered. Cancelled my delivery and was told the refund would be processed within 7-10 days. 2 months later and no refund. No one answers the phone and I can’t get through anyone. I called to make sure i can return an item and over the phone they told me i would be able too. Get to the store with heavy shelves to be told i can’t return. By far the worst miscommunication amongst staff. Honestly the store should be closed the staff get paid to stand. The store clerk told me sorry we can’t do anything for you we can’t even pull up a receipt for you. So why have a space as a museum to be redirected to online.

But I mean its too small for all the IKEA bells and whistles we IKEA shoppers are accustomed to.. there arent any meatballs thats for sure.. 😂😂 There are a couple of kitchen models a lot of kitchen cabinetry options, bathroom models and bedroom closet models but not much to talk about. This store is for those who either already know what they want and just need help planning or ordering. I would suggest the store just if for nothing else decor inspirational ideas. Specifically had a horrible experience with customer service manager at the Brooklyn store. We bought a couch in Ohio as we were driving across the country. We were told we could have a price adjustment at this specific store if we saw the prices get better.Sure enough, we saw the change and thought it’d be worth our time to save $100..... FALSEAfter explaining the scenario we were told we couldn’t go to another store for the adjustment.See attached image and tell me where it states that in ikeas policy. Some “family membership” this claims to be!I told the customer service manager they’ve lost my business in the future and I will do everything I can to follow through on my word. Her answer was 🤷🏽‍♀️Also want to add the couch is poor quality for the price point. The set up was also a pain even for someone who would consider themselves handy.Would suggest going through a company that has clearer policies and trains staff to know them. Also one that hears consumers out and tries to help.

Worst place to buy a kitchen. Customer service is by email only if something goes wrong, and they don’t pay attention to what they are doing when they enter the order. Only half the order was the correct size. IKEA kitchens look nice on the surface but there is so much wasted space because the bottoms of the drawers are on an angle so they waste several inches of storage surface on either side. I really wish they would just call me back to discuss the issue. I would be happy if they would just refund my shipping fees so I can offset a drive to Jersey to make the exchange. But no one will call me even though I asked 10 times in my emails back and forth. Email replies take several hours and inevitably there are follow up questions. Absolute infuriating and recommend if you are putting una new kitchen to go down the street to the Home Depot. I miss my kitchen at my old apt which was done by Home Depot. It may be a little more expensive but makes better use of the space so you are actually paying for something you can use.

I should admit that some of my affection for IKEA stems from the fact that my grandparents came here from Sweden. That said, it’s great to have this IKEA outpost in Manhattan! It’s MUCH easier to get someone to help you here than it is in the warehouse stores. Also, you can get great ideas here for how to maximize the space in a small room or apartment!

I was disappointing experience, went here to come up with creative storage solutions for my Manhattan apartment. I set up an appointment and went in. The staff member I met with, wasnt really paying attention to what i was seeking. They didnt seem to know product lines, and was generally uninterested.I have been an IKEA customer for years and have found many of their products innovative and affordable. Its not furniture you will pass down through the generations, but its functional.I went here because it was hopefully be less time than traveling to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it was a waste of time and I will just need to there anyway and figure out solutions on my own.

WARNING: While the studio service was good, the delivery has been a nightmare; two weeks later and I still haven’t received my wardrobe. The first delivery window didn’t align with what I had requested but I didn’t find out until the morning before. And on the second attempt, the delivery company (XPO) just *never showed up* (and didn’t even call - I only found out when I called). Any cost savings from IKEA were washed away with the inconvenience and drain on time. I wouldn’t buy from here again unless you can walk out of the store with it.UPDATE: The night before the *third* delivery attempt — intended to start at 9a — I received an email saying the window had been switched to start at noon instead.

My overall initial experience was pretty good, it was like going to the regular showroom but you had someone with you to ask questions throughout the entire journey. Which is great, especially considering how challenging it can be to get assistance in the normal stores.However, my post-purchase experience went very, very badly. My information was wrong in the system, in almost every field. That meant the delivery failed and absolutely nobody I tried talking to could fix the seemingly minor mistake. It wasnt until way later that the entire order was recreated. I wanted the delivery time to be earlier in the week, but the system does not allow rescheduling to occur prior to the set date (only after, whaaatt the f--).Suggestions: Add address checking, and a screen for the customer to confirm the data entered! The incorrect address did not exist at all. Get a faster POS system! Every single time I talked to someone, they all cautioned that the system is slow. ALLOW DELIVERY RESCHEDULES TO SET BEFORE THE DATE YOU INITIALLY SCHEDULED.Maybe go here to check out what furniture you want to get, then order online until they get their tech together.

Very limited showroom. This location showcases a small sample of the available products, focusing on kitchens, closets, a few beds, and a few couches. Then, they will take no responsibility and will let you handle the mess alone. Still not resolved after several months. Ordered a bed with storage drawers from the Manhattan store with one of their associates. The gave us a 12 hr delivery window, which cost us a day. Then when bed was delivered and the delivery guys tried to shake us down for $100 “cash” to bring it to the third floor. We called IKEA and they said 3rd floor is included, so the delivery guys were trying to scam us. Then the bed was the wrong bed. The drawers wouldn’t fit underneath. When we called they said they would come the next Sunday and take away the old bed and deliver the correct one. No one called to confirm delivery so we called and said the return/exchange was canceled because we had made the mistake and ordered the wrong bed. But we didn’t order it, the guy in the studio did. So now we have to wait for another delivery date but they say the pick up will be a different day. Terrible customer service, don’t waste your time with the design studio because they don’t know what they are doing. And the delivery company guys are crooks. I wonder how many people fall for the $100 delivery scam?

I went on line to book an appointment. The drop down menu had bathroom which is what I wanted. 45 minutes travel time and subway fare I get there on time to be told oh, we dont have planning for bathrooms; only kitchens but II could show you a few vanities via our website. . Seriously? Not even an apology for time and $ wasted. 5 minutes later I was at a nearby competitor (the orange store) who immediately took care of me an made appointment to come look at my bathroom. Whew. Alls well that ends well but a simple we ONLY do kitchen planning at this location on site would avoid this (Ikea Im still like an apology..)

I had the worst experience today with the upper east side branch of IKEA. 10 minutes after completing the purchase I had asked to cancel it immediately and avoid paying delivery fee. The staff was extremely rude, instructing me to email them, claiming that the store has no phone number for those type of requests. By the time the store representative responded to my email (a guy named Forest), they refused to cancel the transaction. Also claimed that returned items cannot be accepted in this branch (only in Brooklyn, New Jersey or shipped by fedex). This in one the worst stores I have ever been to. In my opinion, if a store cannot cancel a transaction within 30 minutes after purchase, don’t go there.

Had someone in the store help me order a shelving unit (bc that’s what the planning studio is for) and they ordered the wrong size shelves for the entire unit. Worse- I had to take a day off for the delivery AND they can’t fix it in the store- you have to send an email for someone to respond in two days. I love Ikea with my entire heart but this place doesn’t have the Lightroom or the frozen yogurt I fell in love with, so for that reason, my love for this branch of IKEA is not there and probably will not grow. But they have comfy seats for when you need a break of all the city life and movement.

Its okay for convenience, but its way too small there is not even a small version of the marketplace which is my favorite part of Ikea! I kept walking the small circle hoping it would get bigger. Disappointing.

The actual planning process is excellent. It can be a little tough to find an opening in the calendar but once you do have a session scheduled the process is quite professional and thorough. The planning staff are all excellent as well. They know their stuff, their smart and friendly, and they don’t try to up-sell you.Honestly, for the price and process of planning I would give them an overall 4 to 5 star rating but because of poor logistics I can only give them a 2 star rating.The stress really begins when it comes to their delivery company XPO. Whatever you do, do not use XPO to have your kitchen delivered. They are incredibly unreliable and are unable to solve even the simplest of problems. I ended up waiting to entire days for my kitchen to arrive and only after spending close to three hours on the phone did I receive my delivery on the third day.I almost missed my installation date which would’ve cost me a lot of money and at least an additional three week delay.My advice is to find an independent delivery company that you can deal with directly rather that use IKEA’s delivery company’s XPO.The other problem is that there is no way to reach IKEA’s planning Studio over the phone. They do not have a phone number. So if anything is urgent the only way you can reach them is via email and even then they don’t always respond, even if it’s an urgent matter.

I love Ikea, but this shop is a little underwhelming. Theres an appointment/planning area on the lower level, the entrance is on the ground level and theres a small show room on the upper level focusing on small spaces (which is great- this is New York after all)- so, yes, same fun Ikea decor in 400 sf models. There are plenty of bathrooms and elevators, but no cafe or market place. If you come with children, theres no play area. Im still not 100% sure how this place works- I guess you check out the limited stock in the store and then place an order that gets delivered to you later? There was a friendly greeter, but the whole experience was a little vague. A small market place and sit down cafe would make this feel like a reason to shop here vs. making the trip to Brooklyn or Paramus. Unfortunately, it doesnt offer either.

This is on par with the Ikea website—ie, it is a maze to get through. They have no phone service, you have to make an apptment in advance, then once youve designed your space youre given a code. Nobody instructs you on what to do with code but once I figured it out, it didnt recognize the code. No way to contact the store directly so I had to email them and their reply did not solve the problem. Now I have to go back there to be able to view my unit. Also, its best to order through the store itself and not online at home to have a better chance of all the parts being available and shipped at once.

SCAM! I will never shop with IKEA again. I ordered a ton of furniture at the planning studio store on June 4tg to be delivered on a Friday, June 9th. On the day of delivery, I get a call from their shipping company saying that they wouldn’t be delivering anything because A ITEM was left off the delivery truck. We then rescheduled for Sunday, June 9th. However, on Saturday June 8th I get an email stating that my items had been delivered, which did not happen. After countless calls, they chalk it up to “we cannot explain why your received that email but your furniture will be delivered on June 9th.” Additionally, i sent an email to the planning studio on that day. It is now June 17th, 9 days later, and have yet to get a response to that email.So, on June 9th I am waiting in my apartment for my delivery. I decided to call the shipping company and confirm that all of my items were on the truck and on there way. BUT they tell me that my order had been canceled and I would have to call IKEA. So I call IKEA and they tell me that everything I ordered was not in stock so they canceled the order. When I asked why I didn’t receive a courtesy call about that she said “you must of been one of the few and rare people that don’t get a call from us about this”. WTF does that even mean? Additionally, IKEA and the shipping company lied when they said they only left a, as in a singular item, off the truck. They didn’t have a thing to begin with.Finally, I am told that my refund should come within 3-10 days and I would have to get a call from a representative to collect my card information. Why you ask? Because their “systems were down” when I purchased my items. But I guess it wasn’t down enough for them to swipe my card and take my money. Anyway, on June 14 I get a call from IKEA about my refund. They try to give me back less than the amount I paid, $1,136. They reason that out because “some items” were delivered, which they weren’t. Come to find out my landlord gives me a call that some heavy packages we’re left outside and and had been there since Saturday. I was never notified that anything would be delivered because NOTHING was in stock and no phone call happened to let me know of anything. It is now, June 17 and I am still dealing with this b.s.IKEA IS A SCAM!!!!

Do not buy furniture in IKEA. You cannot return large items even though item was damaged or flawed because currently they dont accept a pick up service.
