Victim of their own success?They do a good job, a great job even. The work provided keeping our three Toyota vehicles in top shape has been great over the last 9 years I have been going to them. I first started going there when we moved here and one of our cars had a service light come on as I was driving by on the highway, Scott and Beth said bring it on over, well take a look right now. It was a simple thing but it typified how responsive they could be to a customer in need, and the emphasis on customer service that they have had. In general I have been able to get in to get service within a week or two of when I call.In the last year it has gotten increasingly difficult to get an appointment to have routine or more emergent services done. The first available appointment has never been less than a month from when I call, and often times it is up to two months out. Am I unlucky? perhapse.

I have been meaning to write a review for this shop for over a year. I had a weird hesitation when accelerating in my ‘96 4-Runner, which I had taken to another Toyota specialist that couldn’t figure out the issue. I brought it to Toy and they figured out it was a sensor that was misfiring and fixed it. Done!They have earned my confidence in their technical know-how and their staff are always incredibly professional and knowledgeable. They are not the least expensive shop, but they do top quality work in a timely fashion. They are my go-to shop now and will be servicing all my vehicles from here on out. Best shop around in my opinion.

Toy Automotive did a significant amount of diagnostics, service, and car repair work on my 2008 Lexus GS sedan just purchased. They were knowledgeable and very price competitive. I highly recommend them for Lexus and Toyota repairs!

This glowing review is way overdue. Ive had different sorts of work done to my 3rd generation 4Runner here before (brakes, some suspension work, etc.), but the most recent experience is the one Im writing about today. A few months ago I took my vehicle in for an unusual oil leak that turned out to have been from a cross-threaded oil filter installed during my last oil change at a national franchise. As expected, the tech called me to explain. Totally unexpected was a call the tech had made prior to the oil change franchise to explain their mistake (their sticker was inside my windshield) after which a manager from that store promptly called me to offer a free oil change at my next (hypothetical) visit. Needless to say, with the level of care Toy Automotive techs have, there is zero reason to have something even as routine as an oil change performed elsewhere. Its clear theyre as much Toyota junkies as I am. Couldnt be happier to have them around!

I am so grateful that I stumbled across this shop. They have gone above and beyond in every aspect I could imagine. What I can say confidently is that the owner cares about his shop and stands behind his work. Their rates are extremely competitive and they have a long history of working with Toyotas. I used Toy Auto for almost a year and had several services done. Things didnt always work out perfectly and there were some breakdowns in communication, but they saw every service through to the conclusion and worked with me along the way. In fairness, I am a bit obsessive about my 4Runner. I never felt pressured and their ears were always open for my questions. Mistakes happen (I make more than my share) but Scott definitely stepped in to set things right. Given all the happy customers on here, Id bet my 3 star remains an anomaly for a long time.

Scott and Kyle were the gentlemen I worked with regarding my 2000 SR5 4Runner. Originally brought my vehicle in for an engine noise and coolant loss. Scott diagnosed and repaired the coolant loss beautifully, and was able to be VERY fair with me on my engine replacement. Working as a German car specialist, I don’t have the tools/knowledge to fix my 4Runner as well as Scott can. This is the first time I’ve brought one of my vehicles to ANYONE other than myself in over 8 years.From auto technician to auto technician, Scott and the guys over at Toy Automotive are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and fair. I purchased a built 2013 WRX STI from a gentleman that lived in the area. The engine had suffered a failure and was priced accordingly, however, this was the reason I wanted to purchase the vehicle. It was professionally built, and had very high end parts. The vehicle owner wanted the vehicle diagnosed prior to selling it in case it was a cheaper fix, and the possibility of keeping it. I URGED him not to do this, as there were many potential issues that could come with this. The gentleman took the vehicle to this business regardless, and paid for them to diagnose the engine issue. The gentleman decided he did not want to pay for the quote that was given, and I purchased the vehicle. Our shop drove...out of state...to this business to trailer it back. What was NOT included upon inspecting the vehicle was the engines crank shaft, Cobb Accesport, radiator, flex plate, etc etc. Upon alerting the business of this, the owner did find the accessport in one of the techs tool boxes and mailed us that, and I do appreciate that. Nothing else was received, although the only other part I really wanted was the crankshaft...assuming it was billet. I was told that the crankshaft was junk, so they threw it away. Considering we build cars ourselves, and might know our way around a motor, thats a flat lie. Plus, they were paid for a service, not deciding what to do with any parts not owned by them. I had to go to the east coast for a few months for work, and while there, did end up getting in touch with the owner on the phone. I was told that they actually DID ship the crank, with the other parts. Funny that nothing else ever came, let alone a crank. I never was provided a tracking number for proof. The phone calls were HIGHLY unprofessional and was told Your word against mine. Im not putting any blame on any one person, but this literally happened. Based on the reason I could ever imagine a NOT broken crank would just disappear, and the top of the line parts used in the build, is that someone that wanted a high end crank essentially took it. That would be theft. By the way a alignment dowel on the transmission was broken, as well as damage to one of the bore sleeves. All from disassembly of the engine. The gentleman I purchased this vehicle from was told by this business that he would need new heads....that are ported. That the block was junk, but the rotating assembly was just fine. Those that know these cars understand the expense of what I just said, and is why the gentleman sold me the car in the end. But heres the thing.....Im utilizing the same heads. Cam bolt broke and slipped timing. Head was actually fine. Block? Minus the damaged sleeve, that I know was from disassembly, one small repair on a miniscule crack in one bolt eyelet, the block is actually fine. I cant even guarantee this didnt happen on disassembly given the pry bar gouges and broken alignment dowel. But I cant, so Ill leave that one alone. But the rotating assembly that we were told was just fine? Oh I guess the crank disappears. A crank that belongs to me. Guessing it was probably a billet crank, someone walked off with a minimum $1500 part, and I guess its just my word against theirs. Unacceptable. Now that Im finally back to my home state and able to work on the car again, I will be pursuing this issue once more. Im not saying Toy Automotive doesnt provide a great service for a lot of people, and Im glad they do. But I wanted the TRUTH of a particular instance to be known as well. Criminal activity such as this just isnt going to go away because of 4-5 stars on a computer screen. I just hope this business keeps as good of records as they tried to leverage over me as not doing. Always a great experience, friendly, knowledgeable staff, who speak with honesty. Pre Covid they offered shuttle rides while your car was being worked on. Only repair shop I have been told since moving here from VT a year and half ago, and will continue to bring my Subaru to them.

This is the best place to take your car! All the staff is professional and they know everything there is to know about cars! I can’t say enough about the owners Beth and Scott as well As the entire staff. They are extremely hard working.

I am always impressed with the customer service provided, however, today was above and beyond. I am getting over a cold and had a coughing fit while waiting for my car to be serviced. First, the young man who was at the counter gave me water. Second, when I comment on how quickly my car was serviced, he responded that he had helped out with the wiper replacement . Why? Because he thought I need to get home and get some rest. The staff always goes out of their way to be helpful and courteous. Today it was brought to a whole new level.

Brought a couple vehicles in for prepurchase inspection. They literally saved us thousands of dollars by catching so many issues with the vehicles. Im super impressed with their experience and work. They were easy to talk with and the tech took a lot of time to show me things and explain it all to me. When we do find a good vehicle to buy we will bring it to them to have it worked on.

Took my Lexus here for timing belt service. While this is a maintenance I would prefer to have done myself had I access to a garage I trusted the folks at toy Automotive and they delivered. Work was done promptly and explained thoroughly. They even cleaned up the engine bay and replaced clips. Cant recommend enough

I recently brought my Lexus in for a major service to Toy Automotive...great experience...from the time I dropped my vehicle off...to the point of picking it up...I was impressed with the professional polite family atmosphere that I experienced...Kyle my service advisor introduced himself to me along with Beth one of the owners...also the family pets behind the counter...I really like the fact that this is a family owned & operated business...I have always had my vehicle serviced at a Lexus Dealers...after dealing with Toy Auto I am thru with the impersonalfast food get them in and get them out atmosphere at the dealerships...I like the fact that I am spending my hard earned money at a local family run business that wants to earn my business thru great prices and professional service...I believe this really matters in these days and times...thank you Toy Automotive.

This place is great! Mechanic took his time reviewing my issue and listening to the things Ive already done. They were clear about the repairs they were about to do and man they replaced a rear axle so fast! They remembered me when I walked back in the door and know exactly what car I had. Exceptionally pleased with their knowledge, their work, customer service, and prices! I took my Rav4 to them two months ago for sensor replacement. No other shop, even the Toyota Dealers, would explain to me why our sensor replacements had failed and the dash lights kept coming back on. Toy Automotive was able to fix my Rav4 for a reasonable price and the lights have remained off, giving me back my 4wd and cruise control; essential functions in our winters and long drives. I will definitely use this shop for all of my Toyota mechanical/tune up needs.

Had an issue with my 2016 Tundra starting in the morning. A previous shop changed out the battery and said good to go. It did nothing to solve the problem. I took the truck to Toy automotive and simply described the problem to Scott and he gave me a probable diagnosis and asked me to leave the truck THAT DAY so he could run diagnostics to be sure and to have it for a cold start the next morning. He gave me a price (which I thought was very reasonable) for the test. He called me later that afternoon explaining that they had given it an extensive test drive, and he took the time to explain to me the numbers they were getting on the test, what they mean and that he was very sure they could rectify it. He called me by 7:30 the next morning ( they open at 7 AM) and said the Tundra was good to go. I braced my self for an additional expense because of the test drive, testing and the time Scott took to call and go over what he found. The bill was exactly what Scott had told me the day before.It was very refreshing to find a shop like this and I will only take my Tundra there as well as my wifes 2015 Sequoia in the future. They have earned our business.

5 stars for their quality of work. 1 star for the rest of my recent experience. I have been taking my vehicles to Toy Automotive for the last several years, knowing that I was paying a premium for quality work and service. I have never had any issues with them until now. I was quoted over the phone $900 to replace my timing belt and water pump. I also had a 10% discount mailer. When I picked up my vehicle, to my surprise the invoice for labor and parts alone was $1,077 before the discount of $87. Add Hazmat, supplies and tax and I was out the door for $1,061. I voiced my displeasure regarding the quote vs actual price, and I was told that Hazmat, supplies and taxes were not part of the quote, and that it was normal for a business not to give the out the door price. Here is my beef. (1) Even before the extras, the invoice was $162 more than their quote. (2) The business knowingly under quoted parts and labor and (3) I was misinformed when I was told in person that the extra cost was the supplies, hazmat and tax, when the difference was actually misquoting the cost of parts and labor. Shame on Toy Automotive. I was told that their staff would be made aware of my concern.

Great service, honest, friendly staff and very knowledgeable. They do not try to soak you for service not needed until its neccessary. Also, they have a 3 year warranty on major services on your vehicle.

I needed keys for my new (to me) Land Cruiser and every locksmith and Toyota specialist I spoke to gave me uncertain answers about how difficult it was going to be and how much it would cost.Scott immediately gave me confidence when he said he had access to a guy who could do the work without issue. As anyone whos had to replace chip keys knows, its not gentle on the wallet but Scott was able to get it done quickly and get it done right.Beth and the rest of the service team also helped make it a great experience.Toy Automotive has earned my Toyota business going forward.

Wow I went in to Toy Automotive to have my Prius worked on because all the warning lights were on!! Yes you know stress out time. Scott and team checked it out @ no charge. Told me to go to Toyota dealer because it is the main battier and it is under warranty.That is so honest they could have replaced it and I would have never know. My car was leaking oil badly, I had to pull over! They were the closest auto repair, so I drove very slowly there to see if they could help me. The owners sons and all the mechnics were there to greet me and were amazing!! They were able to calm me down, assure me my engine was not going to blow up, and fix the problem in less than 10 mins!! They even washed the oil off my car! Thank you! Ive found my mechanic for all future issues!

If you have a Toyota, Lexus, or Subaru, this is where you should go for service.I had to replace the engine in my 2013 Subaru Impreza, after Subaru themselves failed to cover it even though it was due to the high oil consumption theyve known about with the 2.0 engine.Rather than pay the astronomical $16,000 AutoNation Subaru quoted me, I went to Toy Automotive, where they found me a slightly used motor, got it installed perfectly, gave me a loaner, and a wonderful experience for a fraction of the cost. Thank you to Beth and Scott Akers, they were the best.Although I recently got rid of the Impreza and bought a Hyundai, when I do get a Toyota or Lexus, I will be returning to have it serviced there.

Toy Automotive corrected problem that Subaru couldnt!My 2016 Subaru Forester had a problem starting - you just didnt know when it would happen and it was very frustrating.
