My husband needed to trade in his truck and we decided to go with a Subaru Outback. The reason we went with Subaru for our first time was because we have heard nothing but great things and that people love their Subaru. So we decided to try it out. The ride is smooth and he is getting used to it but loves it so far.The process of trading in his truck and purchasing the Subaru was made so easy by Fox and their customer service is top notch. Everybody is very friendly and willing to help, even if its not the salesperson you are working with. We feel like we made a smart purchase and we are in good hands with Fox. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The service I have experienced the last 3 times I have been into Fox Subaru has been nothing short of terrible. I would not recommend their services and suggest that you drive to the Muskegon Subaru to actually have your problems fixed.

I brought my Outback in for airbag recall. The staff that checked me in was nice. Service took as long as I was told and my car was brought back up. I was going to bring it back around for the quick lube oil change until I saw the condition of the inside of my car. My change from the center counsel was thrown all over my passenger seat and floor, my masks that were on my shifter were on the driver side floor along with a few other personnel items. My cell phone holder was ripped off the sticky and thrown on the floor as well. Also I was not aware that part of the airbag recall was them turning off my passenger side airbag. I don’t understand I go there to get new airbags and leave without a passenger airbag??? A car should be returned to you in the same condition you left it. I don’t know how much farther I would have to drive for recall work but I will not be returning to this location.

Thank you Fox for fantastic customer service! Scott in financing helped us with paperwork and Michael from the service both went above and beyond! Scott went out of his way to help finalize the paperwork when there was an error and worked with our schedules to meet up with us.Michael took great care of us in the service department! I even told the tire expert that I had seen earlier in the week how well we were taken care of, he said if he ever needs a new car he’ll keep how y’all treated us in mind. Again THANK YOU FOX! I worked with Barb Weiblen to buy my Subaru and she is great! I would recommend asking for her if you want to get all the information and a good price. I had gone into the Fox show room a year earlier expecting to by a Subaru but the sales person I talked with acted like the car was selling itself and didnt give me any good information and acted disinterested. I was so turned off, that I went over to BMW and bought a car there. Eventually I went back to Subaru and worked with Barb. I cannot say enough about her! I usually hang on to my cars for years, but when I buy my next Subaru, I am going to work with Barb Weiblen!

So far very pleasant experience. Subaru Grand Rapids team are the best, specially Joe. We couldnt have done this without him. We leased a 2022 Subaru Outback and they worked to accommodate our budget. Awesome staff. Unlike most dealerships they wont try to screw you for money. They value making the customers happy because they realize the importance of repeat customers. Had some warranty and recall work done very quickly and efficiently. They even did some minor work that wasnt under warranty and didnt charge me for it. I got an amazing trade in value for my car and a great price on the car I bought. I will absolutely buy from them again and have recommended them to many people. My salesman was Nick Snyder, he was absolutely fantastic, but everyone Ive dealt with there has been great too.

We walked in the Fox Subaru expecting to see a car and Nick Snyder was the salesman we talked to. Before we mentioned anything he started introducing the car with a long speech. We got the Carfax and saw NO maintenance record on this car. He said nowadays Carfax is not important and customers put too much weight and expectations on it. For a car that is 5 years old and got no maintenance history? Is it all aftermarket parts & maintenance? The drivers seat has weird sounds and the heating does not work.He looked at us and felt confident to sell such a car to the customer without ensuring the cars quality. He just wanted money and made it very obvious. Im wondering is it how this dealership treat everyone? Or just him? His rudeness and arrogance annoyed us.

They take your money and don’t fix the problem. My biggest regret is taking my forester to these guys for mechanical assistance. I’ve gotten my vehicle diagnosed at 3 places and decided to take it here only for them to tell me something completely different. I trusted them long enough to pull my vehicle off their property and for all lights to come back on. I spent over $500 for nothing to be fixed. I went back to the first place I got it diagnosed and the diagnosis was the same. I spent more money at the other place but the problem was corrected. This is the 4th time Fox Subaru has said something needs to be done on my vehicle and nothing is fixed from it. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Weve had our 2013 Outback serviced here twice- once to repair a rattling heat shield and once for 60k mile maintenance. Both times were pleasant experiences. We scheduled our appointment, dropped off before they opened, and our service was done later that day. They even dropped our car back off after a $50 repair while I was at work so that my wife would have the vehicle back. Weve purchased parts that were reasonably priced and in stock too. Will definitely be back for service as needed. We live within walking distance and that convenience, plus the quick service, have made us regular customers. Shout out to Andrew and everyone else there for taking care of us!

Not impressed. I reached out a few weeks ago as I was interested in purchasing a brand new Forester. I had three different people contact me with little/no follow through or answers to my questions. We purchased a Can-Am from Fox last summer and had also been thinking of trading it in, but a week passed with no answers. I am totally miffed that these salespeople would let a brand new vehicle sale get dropped. If I couldnt get Fox Subaru to follow through with a vehicle SALE, I could only imagine what it may be like if I had an issue with a vehicle purchased from them. Yikes!I ended up looking elsewhere and found a Mercedes at another dealership and ended up purchasing that instead.

Went to fix Subaru in April for an oil change and a new oil drain plug because it was stripped. I brought all my own supplies. I was charged for a new bolt even though I provided one that fit. In addition to being charged for something unnecessarily, I asked specifically several times for the drain plug to only be hand tightened as I typically change my oil myself. The plug was most definitely not hand tightened and is now impossible to get loose without going to a shop again. I was promised by the tech several times that he understood that I wanted it only hand tightened. When I called to complain I was only offered a free change in the next 6 months. I do not live in Michigan and no other solution was offered. Very disappointing to be promised a service I specifically asked for and not have it completed. Also completely unacceptable to be charged erroneously.

Looks like my AC compressor is going out. Not a cheap replacement. I heard $1100. Anyway, up until a few months ago, had all my maintenance (mostly oil changes) done at this dealer. Had to check my car a few months ago, for something that the dealer didnt have time to deal with. And noticed that the low pressure AC hose cap was missing, and the high pressure cap was greasy. As if someone with very greasy fingers removed it, then put it back on... And I never authorized or requested work done on my AC system. Hmm... Guess Ill be headed elsewhere in the future.

I called a few days ago about my 2015 Impreza that i got through carvana. I was told that the infotainment could be updated for free and took about 5 hours. I drove from Greenville to Grand rapids because money aside i would like Subaru to work on my Subaru if possible. The gentlemen in sales very nicely told me it wasnt free then very casually lied to me when asked if I could do it myself then acted shocked when I explained the process in detail then agreed it is possible. I am not completely signed off and would still like to speak with someone but the balding gentleman with glasses working in services today needs to be more honest with people. Silverlink is the carvana coverage and I would like to know if its possible to get my vehicle fully checked out and covered by and covered by them but I never got to that part because I was so turned off by the gentleman and services thank you

I had no pressure whatsoever. And the benefit of working with Fox is they can get you into almost any car youre interested in without all the complication of jumping dealerships. As a mom, I specifically need a car that can suit my two rapidly growing kids and their seats, and so I had a small list of cars I wanted to try on for size. Im thrilled and thankful to be in a Subaru with space, more safety than I have had in recent history, and more features than Ive had in my last car.

I recently stopped in to have a look at the new 2021 Ascent. Thankfully they had two of the exact trim line I was looking for and the test drive confirmed all of the homework I had done previously. Aaron Dekema was a wonderful salesman who knew everything about the vehicle and was a pleasure to work with, as was the whole team in finalizing the great financing deal and purchase. This is quite a step up from my 15 year old pickup!I also received extensive instruction before I left when it came to vehicle maintenance and the functioning of the ridiculous number of features in the Ascent. I am loving the vehicle and I would recommend it, and Fox Subaru to all of my Michigan friends interested in a Subaru. Great experience all around!P.S. Our salesperson Barb was the best! She treated us like next door neighbors and helped us get out of a vehicle we really didnt want an into one that we love to drive! We ended up getting the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek and we couldnt be happier! Our entire experience at this dealership was amazing from being greeted initially to our sales person to the financing. We have yet to bring the vehicle in for service but Im certain the way we have been treated will continue. I would highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a new or used Subaru. The first time I came into the dealership to look for a car was the first I had been searching in over 10 years. Aaron greeted me immediately, listened to what I was looking for, set me up with a car to test drive in the correct make and model, and answered all of my questions. He also ended up staying after that evening because my boyfriend left his phone and wallet in the car we test drove and we had to turn around to get it.The whole experience from test driving to purchasing was easy and it made the process more enjoyable. It also made the memory positive because when I went to another dealership I experienced the exact opposite where someone put me in a lower model to save me the money and didnt listen to my vehicle preferences.Once I did decide to reserve the car, Aaron continued to keep in touch with me via email and text (my two preferred ways). The day my car arrived, I told him I wanted to finish the process as soon as possible in the evening and he spent the day helping me to set everything up. He was there past closing and took the time to go through every feature of the car with me without feeling rushed. I appreciate that he made time for me.Tom, who helped me with the finance process, was the same way - patient, a great listener, and kind. I loved how relaxed and easy the entire process felt at the dealership and I would recommend it again. Everyone seemed honest and authentic. The reality is with all the information online, cars sell themselves and it depends on the experience one has with the sales team, this dealership was great, thanks!

This was one of the best dealership experiences I have had, and the only time I havent felt the pressure to purchase immediately. For my first time buying new, this is what it should feel like. I rarely felt like I was being talked down to, given the company line, or not being heard (things Ive experienced at many other dealerships). The facility is nice and the people are warm and welcoming. Information was given in a complete, no-nonsense way and my questions were answered in a way that felt upfront and honestly. Quinn was a great help throughout the car buying experience and I truly enjoyed working with him! He offered cost-savings options when appropriate and the financial side of things was handled with ease. The trade-in value offered for my vehicle was also more than I anticipated from a new-car dealer.I have managed customer service people, process, and procedures for many years, so I will notice little things here or there that can be improved on or could use coaching more than other people would. That said, I think Fox Subaru handles most dealership things much better than the average dealership I have experienced.

Very terrible experience visiting this dealership. The sales person (I wont mention their name) was being polite and doing their job at first. However, they misplaced the car keys after I was done with the test drive and kept looking for almost an hour, while I waited. In between the search he asked me to empty my pockets twice, which I did and then he started using terms like I dont lose keys and someone took it while it is just me in the room. I confronted him about wether he is implying that I stole the keys and things got heated, he said he wasnt and that its just weird. Later he found the car keys with a co-worker and proceeds to tell me I knew you didnt have it instead of apologizing for the wait and for how he was borderline blaming me for theft.Later on I got rejected for a financial plan because of my credit, which happens, but it all accumulated to end up being the worst experience I have had at a dealership. Im not sure why, but he later calls me after I was 30 minutes away saying you got approved we just need proof of income. I knew things werent right with that salesperson and although I adored the car I went to see, I decided to take my time checking other dealerships instead.He was lucky I didnt make a scene in the dealership because I really wanted the car sale to go smooth but maybe I should have. I hope this kind of experience doesnt happen with anyone else.

Signed estimate was missing items (missing item WAS listed but estimated as $0), and the final bill was 30% more than estimate. Very unpleasant experience. I will be finding a new place for oil changes and minor maintenance going forward. If this place wants return customers, they should make sure their estimates are CORRECT *before* sending them to the customer to sign AND honor the estimate if they send them out incorrect.

I could not say enough good things about my experiences with this dealership. After I ran my last Subaru into the ground, I purchased my first new car. The representative I worked with, Joe, was amazing. He drove from Grand Rapids to my workplace in Lansing to pick me up on the day I got my car.When I took my car in last week for an oil change & recall service, the recall service was done sooner than they quoted. They forgot about the oil change, and ended up taking care of it for me (without me asking, I was not offended or expecting anything).Time and time again the people that work at Fox Subaru take good care of me, and I intend on returning.

I purchased a 2020 Subaru Forester from Fox Motors in October 2020. I signed an extended warranty contract and was told that I could cancel it at any time for a refund. After reviewing the details, and omissions, I chose to cancel the contract and notified the dealership in writing. I was sent a form to complete. I completed it and immediately sent it back. I was told that it could take up to a couple of months to get my refund so I waited until after January 1, 2021 to begin inquiring as to what the status of my cancellation was. I talked to and emailed Tom Farhoe who said it was taken care of. I emailed and talked to Ryan Coe, who said it had not been taken care of and he would personally make sure that I received a full refund. After several months of calling and emailing with no results, I reached out to the finance manager Joe. (I dont remember his last name and I cant find my email correspondence yet.) He emailed me and said that they had received the money for the refund and would personally overnight the check to the finance company the following day. That was a month ago. I received my statement in the mail today and there was NO CREDIT FROM FOX SUBARU. I called Subaru finance to follow up on it and they said that they have NOT received any money from Fox Subaru for this cancellation. This has been going on for over 6 months and I have still NOT RECEIVED THE CREDIT of $2121.00 to my account.

Please provide where I can post this review.We have never had a Subaru before, but we are really thankful that we made the switch. Our friend suggested we give them a try. I did a LOT of research and test drove MANY different vehicles before trying the Subaru Outback, but I finally did and I’m so glad we did! The seats are comfortable which is really important to me because we plan to enjoy lots of rides. The touch screen is easy to use with icons that are very navigable. They don’t take time away from the driver. The safety features are excellent and we were so pleased that even though the vehicle is new, our insurance rates went DOWN from our 7 year old car.This is our first vehicle that isn’t a sedan and we are loving sitting up higher so we can see better. The traction is great too in the snow. We thought front wheel drive was good, but this vehicle really tracks wonderfully in the Michigan snow.We have had a couple little occasions to encounter the service department to have things tweaked and they have treated us very well. We look forward to a great relationship with them in the days ahead.Nick and JP are very professional and provide excellent service.

If you want good work done on your vehicle, take it anywhere but Fox Subaru. They have damaged multiple vehicles that we have brought in, nearly caused an accident when a repair failed and have never taken any kind of responsibility when they are confronted. Recalls that were quoted to be done in 2 hours have resulted in cars staying at the dealership for 7 days due techs breaking components. They will try to hide their mistakes and unless you inspect your cars after getting them back, I would have no confidence in their work.My family has bought no less than 5 Subarus and we have loved the cars over more than 15 years of ownership. We do our own maintenance on the vehicles and know the cars inside and out, and really take pride in keeping them immaculate. We only take the cars to Fox Subaru for recalls because of the poor experiences we have had there.The first problems with this dealership were when there was a recall on a brake line that could rust and burst. Within 3 years of having the dealership fix the brake lines, both vehicles that had been serviced experienced brake line ruptures, exactly where the recall had specified a problem, in one case nearly causing an accident. When confronted about the botched repairs, the service manager said that other things cause brake lines to rupture and only relented when I brought documentation from Subaru of America with how they should have repaired the lines.With the Takata airbag recalls the entire dash has to be removed on Gen 4 Subarus to replace the passenger airbag. On all 3 cars we brought to Subaru, they damaged the dashboards when prying them, leaving chunks missing right in the center above the radio, and broke the mounting tabs for the dash leaving it loose.The dealership actually returned all the cars to us without mentioning the obvious gouges in the dash. Their only excuse when asked why they were damaged it is that it is difficult to take the dashboard out. They seem to forget that it is their job to not damage your car when working on it, and try to make you feel bad that you would want your car returned to you how you brought it in. Also worth mentioning is that the repair they do to the dashes after damaging them involves essentially a hot glue gun melting in some new plastic. This then degrades after 6 months and does not match the pattern of the surrounding plastic, leaving a permanent blemish.This service department has been deceitful, disrespectful and tried to hide their mistakes thinking that you will take their word at face value, and not know how to call them on their poor work. If you value your vehicle take it anywhere else.

If you are interested in a new Subaru, do business with Joe Booher. He will patiently listen to all your questions and do his best to answer them. He will not be pushy, but will simply let YOU do the sales work, while he gives you all the info you need to make your own decision and close the deal if thats what you want to do.Why only 4 stars? On Labor Day weekend the oil plug blew on 96 in Benton Harbor as my daughter was driving back to Colorado from Grand Rapids. The car had been serviced by Fox Subaru the week before, oil change and engine/cabin filter replacement. She is lucky she is not dead. Calling me from the side of the expressway, distraught and crying, Subaru emergency roadside refused to help because her warranty on her 2012 outback had expired in 2018. Period NO HELP. This was a Sunday so naturally Fox Subaru was closed. Zielke Towing in Benton Harbor (God bless them) towed her car AND CALLED IN HIS MECHANIC. Fox Subaru knew she was driving across the country. My daughter was told that there was no way she should have ever been able to make that trip without some serious recommendations from Subaru, not only was her battery completely corroded, but Subaru recommends synthetic oil for their cars and that was not what was he detected in the remaining oil. The mechanic replaced her oil plug and put synthetic oil in her car and happily sent her on her way. I have suspected for a long time issues of overcharging, things going wrong with my other Subaru following service, but this was the final straw. I will never EVER deal with this dealership again and strongly recommend that if you have loved ones, send them elsewhere to get their car serviced. I will be contacting Subaru Corporate about this whole incident, disgraceful, and grateful my daughter did not get hit by a car or blew her engine!

Great price and quick service. They have a waiting area with snacks and a play area for kids. I was worried they would charge a lot, but I got a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation for only $65, when I have been paying $80 elsewhere. Definitely will be back.

Called ahead to see if staff and customers were required to wear masks. I was told that customers were not required but employees were if in contact with customers. Because customers did not have to wear masks I waited in the showroom which was more open. Not a single sales person was wearing a mask. I witnessed three sitting with customers across a small desk from them with no protection. They also walked freely around the showroom getting closer to customers than six feet. Had they told me this when I called ahead and been honest with me when I called I never would have come here. While I’ve had good customer service here in the past, I cannot recommend this dealership and will not return unless things change and there is more transparency.

Got a bad oil change from a nearby oil chain place, took my Subaru Forester to Fox to see what was wrong. I was able to make a service appointment online and bring my car in next morning. They offered me a loaner vehicle while they looked at my car. Within a few hours I knew what was wrong with my car, was updated via text when my vehicle was ready, and was driving my car home by dinner time. I was incredibly stressed that I wouldnt have my car over the holidays but Fox Subaru kept me up to date the whole time and I found them very efficient and helpful. Ill be going to them for my oil changes and any other issues from now on!

The service department leaves much to be desired. I get the feeling they do the bare minimum. For instance, I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and have a tire that is quite low. Everywhere else would fill the tires, this place doesn’t even get a pressure gauge on them. This is just a small example of something very easy to do...what about the hard stuff...the stuff I bring my vehicle in for?

Subaru America could take a lesson in customer service from Travis. It may go a long way to make owing the 2018 Outback 3.6r less painful.

I cant give a high enough rating to the service center at Fox subaru. We were in the middle of a multi-state road trip with a baby and a dog when we started having car trouble. Not only were they able to squeeze us into their schedule, they got us back on the road the next day, despite some serious work that needed to get done. I feel like James really went above and beyond to take care of things and genuinely made my familys safety a priority. I called other dealerships in the area who couldnt get us into the service center on such short notice or seemed unwilling and uninterested in helping. I never leave reviews but you all are doing a great job and I truly appreciate it! James is a top notch employee! Many thanks for your exceptional customer service and kindness.

They had my car for far longer than they said they would. They also didnt adjust valve clearance properly after replacing my head gasket so now I have significant valve tapping. Not impressed at all. Will not be going back.

My partner and I purchased a vehicle here about a month ago. I finally left the facility because our sales person, Nick, was not wearing a mask and kept getting too close beyond the recommendation of 6 ft.I refused to go back and even when my partner picked up the vehicle this guy still refused to be safe with ignoring both a mask and the 6ft self-distancing!I notice on the reviews that others have had this same experience here. It seems totally irresponsible and either is a blatant political statement or just a non-concern for patrons.If you care about your safety them don’t come to this dealership .

The purchase of my car was rough (purchased in 2019). Mislead on dates and information, slow shipping, and other issues. Corporate helped make it right. The service department has been good for the routine oil changes and inspections. It is odd that the express cant do basic service aside from oil change, the tpms sensor on factory tires is off and it needs an appointment. Can go to discount and have them fix it, even in the parking lot. Overall service has been good though, pricey, but it is a dealership. Service is offsetting my sales experience. Would likely drive elsewhere to purchase another. It may have been a fluke, but it was enough for me with the couple months I dealt with.

We traveled two hours to check out a specific used Forester to replace my previous model that was totalled. The initial response when we arrived was quick and we were in the car for a test drive within minutes. Once we returned, we worked with Quinn and he was exceptionally accommodating with what we needed. We quickly agreed on the price, and he made sure we had a coin tray and cargo cover (neither were in the model we chose) before we left. The entire process was easy, and were very happy with our purchase.

Fox has been great to me, and my Legacy GT. I purchased the car from them, and have inquired about parts on occasion. Each interaction has been a pleasure and the staff are very quick to respond. 5 stars from me.UPDATE 2017: I traded my GT in and am now leasing a 2018 Impreza. The transaction went flawlessly. Josh took care of everything in a timely fashion. Thank you Subaru.UPDATE 2018: I brought my lease in for a few repairs after a small pothole collision, Fox was flawless as usual. They were swamped but still managed to give me a loaner car for a few days. The Impreza was repaired, lightly cleaned, and pulled up to the front when I arrived. I love this place.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION. Took my vehicle in after a recall notice (AKA Subaru made a mistake and now I have to take my time to bring my car in for them to correct their mistake)Was quoted 6-7 hours for the recall service and I was sent on my way. After waiting for an hour I asked if it was possible to get a loaner since I didn’t really have 6 more hours to wait outside. I was told they hadn’t even started on my car yet, but they could get it done in 20 min (they REALLY didn’t want to give me a loaner) I continued to wait outside for another hour. After I asked again when my car would be finished the customer service rep finally replied after no response for 15 minutes.I also let a service worker know there was a dead bird outside the service area (gross) he said he saw it- after waiting 2 hours outside and staring at this dead bird I told a supervisor about the bird as clearly the service worker saw it and ignored it. Awful experience

I just picked up my car from the service area; this review isn’t of the work performed, but of the fact that hardly any employees were wearing masks. I arrived a little early to take a look at the new models, but changed my mind when I saw that NONE of the sales people were wearing masks.The service manager quickly put his on when I walked up, but none of the other people in the office had a mask on...the cashier said she left hers in her car. Interesting to note that all but one customer were wearing masks. I was told that the inside of my car had been “sanitized,” but there was a half empty water bottle left behind by someone in the cup holder.So, if you’re trying to be cautious, I think I would avoid this facility for the time being.

Everyone was super nice! They told me my appointment was going to take about 5 hours and they didnt have a technician assigned for my car yet. I told them I didnt have a ride and would have to wait it out, and within 10 minutes a gentleman came up and informed me he had someone on my car already. And within about 1.5 hours or so, my car was done! And I pulled a $20 Starbucks gift card off the wall that the same gentleman told me to do. It was a great experience and I was having a horrible day. It was exactly the service I needed to smile about. Thank you so much all of you!!
