Thats not my style, so I looked again and found Ryan. Im so glad I did!Ryan took a look at my bike, replaced some parts and repaired other things, and it now rides smoother and better than it ever has. He really knows his stuff, offers great prices...AND explains what hes doing and lets you help so you can learn too. Plus, hes easy and fun to talk to.On top of it all, he did the work quickly and was super responsive. Thats great, because my bikes primary function is exercising my cattle dog mix. Went with boyfriend, where we took his bike for a tuneup that we bought used. We went with the learn option, which we would do again when we come back. Ryan explains and points out everything as we went along, what to watch out for in the future. Is honest with you, and personable. Would recommend, especially if you’re starting out and want to learn a few things. And is really well priced too.When you go, look for the white/blue bike signs, it can be a little hidden if you’re not looking for it :)

I went to 4 bike shops looking to get my derailleur cable fixed after it snapped. Nobody in Boulder could fix it the same-day! Ryan worked on my large, heavy, and difficult to work on bucket style cargo bike today. He solved my issues at a very affordable price (much lower than I was anticipating). The whole experience was enjoyable: the bike shop is in an adorable cottage under big trees, Ryan is so kind and fun to chat with, and the bike repair was efficient and effective. My freshman year of college I was looking for a place to get an old Yamaha fixed up that I shipped across the country. I stumbled upon Ryan’s shop on Google and what I found was a little alleyway shop full of character. Four years later and I’ve been to Ryan’s shop anytime my bike feels sluggish or messed up. Ryan is friendly and he has good turn around. His prices are good. The little shop has a nice feel to it. He will let you watch him work sometimes, and he talks about his process a bit. Ryan is awesome. I had been meaning to stop by his shop for the longest time but I never tried hard enough to find it. Boy was I happy when I finally decided to look for him. I was a walk-in customer looking for a used bike, and while he doesnt sell used bikes, he spent an hour with me talking about what to look for and whats right for me. He even let me ride his own personal bike, and when a long-time customer stopped by, Ryan convinced him to let me ride his bike, too! While I havent yet found a bike, Ryan has continued to discuss options with me via email. Once I do get a bike, I will be taking it to Standard for any and all work.

I love the work that was done on my bike! I had an automatic bike that had broken and Ryan switched it to a non auto shifter. It works so much better than it did when it was an auto bike and it is a lot easier to ride. I am really pleased with the outcome and all the great work that was put into it.

His watch/help/learn option is amazing: you make an appointment, during which Ryan dedicates all of his attention to you and your bike in his cool indoor/outdoor workshop. His level of experience and expertise is astounding. You leave that same day with your bike fixed and with a ton of interesting, practical knowledge to use in the future. Its cheaper, easier, and faster than leaving your bike overnight at an expensive shop, especially with their labor minimums and overpriced packages that include services you dont need.The bottom line: this is by far the best experience with a bike mechanic I have ever had, and I cant recommend it highly enough.

Ryan was great. He works on older bikes (mine is 18 years old). I never realized that replacing old front derailleurs was such a pain, but he has lot of parts lying around that fit older bikes so it was an easy fix.

I needed my bike to be put together after shipping it from the east coast, but I didnt know how to do it myself. Ryan offered that I could help him and I ended up doing most of the grunt work with him supervising and advising. My bike got assembled and tuned, and I learned how to do it myself next time. He even cleaned and polished my bike at the end!

Each time I have gone to get my bike worked on I have been met with skill, efficiency, and good conversation.
