Great local shop. Staff are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Helped me install a power meter when there wasnt enough clearance and provided a spacer without charging.
The sales person at the front was trying to be helpful but the mechanic on duty had the absolute worst customer service Ive encountered in a while. It said on your site that you had an item in stock and two at that. The helpful attendant tried to look and asked the mechanic and he did not move a muscle nor turn around to engage the customer(me). All he had to do was look for a part but instead chose to have a terrible attitude and make your establishment look horrible. Unfortunately thanks to your wonderfully lazy mechanic Ill never come here again. Thanks for nothing.
The staff at the North Broadway staff checked my bike after I crashed. They even checked my Speedplay clips. Greased, retightened and gave me the okay to ride. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the words “no charge!” Just wished they could have fixed my fractured collarbone at no charge too🤣 I highly recommend you make Boulder CycleSport your LBS.
Had a great experience here! Ive been dealing with a front brake issue for a while and finally took it in and the people working were so nice and friendly and took care of it right away for no cost! I couldnt believe it. Will definitely be back here! Thank you so much!
I was referred to Justin and Boulder Cycle Sport North by a trusted friend this past June with the goal of purchasing a new road bike. My experience shopping and testing various bikes was great. I felt like I was in great hands and Justin, in particular, took a great deal of time guiding me, answering my questions, and fitting me to a great bike for me. Since, I have had just an excellent experience every time I needed to come in for a question or quick adjustment. Most recently, I was about to set out for a ride from North Boulder and discovered I had a broken chain ring. Took the bike in and couldnt believe how amazing the team was. Trent and Justin dropped everything and had this swapped out (no cost) with a new chain ring and I was back on the road within 30 minutes. Just exceptional service and focus on the customer. Very comfortable recommending Justin, Trent, and the overall team at BCS North (and South).
I bought a Giant Revolt TCR 0 gravel bike from Justin and the crew at Cycle Sport and they were absolutely fantastic!! In many ways they went the extra mile- first Giant reported this bike was back ordered 8-10 weeks. Justin the owner found one at another bike shop in Denver and worked with them to get the bike and pick it up and amazingly 3 days later I was riding my new bike. Also when I went to pick up my bike Justin spent a lot of time with me getting the bike set up to fit me perfectly- put the bike in a trainer, adjusted stem height, adjusted stem length, seat, swapping out seats, cleat placement etc... using plumb lines, levels and angle measurements at knees, hips, shoulders. Ive bought a lot of bikes over the years from various Boulder bike shops and never have I received this type of higher quality complementary fit...usually its been a college kid helping me get my seat height right then a see ya later kind of fit. I really felt like he cared about customer service and getting me on the right bike.! Thanks Justin and the Cycle Sport Team
A bespoke customer experience that should be the benchmark for every bike shop on the front range. Justin and his crew have gone above and beyond with all of my cycling needs!
Ive never written a review before but feel like this is necessary for the public to know. This was far and away the worst experience Ive ever had with a bike shop. I took my mountain bike in for a tune up which is ~$100. Everything on my bike was functioning properly when I took it in, though I did need a brake replacement.Instead of doing the tune up like I signed up for, the bike shop decided to do a full shock treatment to the front and rear shocks (something that is far more expensive than a tune up and something I never asked for). When I picked up my bike, the back tire was flat, even though it was perfectly functional when I took it in. The shop blamed it on my tire being old and worn, even though it was perfectly functional with plenty of tread when I took it in. The shop claimed they contacted the tire company about warranty for the tire but they never got back to me. I ended up having to pay $80 for a brand new tire that was fully functional when I took it in to the shop. When I took the bike home, I noticed that the handlebars were not screwed on and there was dirt caked on the derailleur and chain. I called and asked why these parts were not cleaned because cleaning these parts is included in the level 1 tune up. The bike shop said there was a mistake with my order and they did a shock treatment instead of a tune up- even though I had signed up for a tune up and it was marked in their schedule as a level 1 tune up.At the end of this experience, I was charged over $320 for a new tire (that was perfectly functional when I dropped it off), shock treatment (that I never signed up for), and brake replacement (the only thing I actually needed...). Again, the level 1 tune up was only supposed to be $100.I asked the shop for a discount because they messed up my order and I was charged far more than the tune up. They didnt give me one and just said, sorry, we really messed up here with communication. I am still furious about this experience and would not recommend this shop to anyone.
Visiting a costumer in Boulder we decided to rent a road bike for exploring while we had some spare time during the day before flying back home.We had a great experience renting a couple of road bikes in advance from Minneapolis almost 5 days before traveling. The renting was perfect, they asked us about our size and style, and also what kind of pedals we wanted. We got to the store and everything was perfect, the bike almost brand new ones (nice BMC and Fusion carbon bikes). They suggest some routes based in our schedule so they suggested going up to Lyons and Hygiene area. Sort we rode that area about 50 miles, perfect ride and people is bike friendly as the all around the city is.Store has a small place to get dressed and nice parking lot.I would come back for sure. Thanks you guys at Boulder Cycle Sport North
This is an excellent bike shop. Ive bought two bikes and a number of other items here. The staff exemplify the best of local businesses (and why I will not order bikes and related equipment online or from a huge retailer): The staff go above and beyond to help you, they are full of valuable information (I feel like I learn something new every time I go to the store), and they are fully focused on you and your needs.
I have made multiple purchases at BCS which have all been high quality gear which was presented to me in a very professional way. What sticks out to me more, however, is how quick the team is to help me when I come in with an issue. My air compressor at home wasnt strong enough to seat the bead of a tire and I brought it in. They immediately stopped what they were working on an did it for me for free. Thanks guys!
What a great rental experience. From Hey, lets rent bikes to getting on the road was so easy. The bikes were top notch. The staff was outstanding. Although the shop was busy, they took the time to make sure we had the right fit and set up, including flat kits. We had a route in mind but adjusted it based on their input (There are some great dirt roads where you guys are going. You should try them.) We had a fantastic ride. I hope we can do it again. Thanks Nick.
Visited this place almost as soon as I got to Boulder as I realized I needed new tires and some chain lube. I was in and out very quickly with exactly what I needed; the lady at the counter knew where everything was immediately. They only had one kind of 26 MTB tire in stock, but given the trend to larger wheel sizes I cant really say that I blame them (and it is a very good tire, if one of the more expensive ones).
Boulder Cycles is a great choice if you haven’t been. This is not my regular bike shop, but had a problem with my dropper post and had to get it looked at. Someone looked at my bike, fixed it, and I was out of the shop with in 5 minutes. With all the craziness of the world, it’s good to know Boulder Cycles had my back. Thank you guys for getting me back out on the trails and in the sunshine.
Justin and team were amazing! I went here to get my bike fit and whether it was making some adjustments to my bike, cutting down my seat post or asking for just some general advice, they were all more than willing to help out! They also have a great selection of bikes! Would highly recommend for any bike, service or fitting needs!
People who fix bikes are so cool:) Thank U for your skillful work and service!
They were Very helpful and got the job done. When me and my dad when’s there they were closed but they took my bike and fixed my flat for free. They are super awesome people.
Nice people, good selection of gear and very positive attitude towards helping clients
Amazing staff -- passionate, extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly. This shops philosophy is to truly build relationships with their customers and to keep them for life -- and their actions exemplify this (something that is so very rare nowadays). Justin is the manager and really does a great job, both personally and in running the shop. The shops have an excellent vibe and I especially like the north location. Better selection of high end road bikes than most other shops in the metro area.I bought a road bike from Boulder Cycle Sport.Ive found my new bike shop!
I am going through a transition in life, just started a new job and got a blessing from a very nice donated bike that needs a few parts to get it going. I called Boulder Cycles and asked for their help and they were more than willing to help put it together me with what they can. Thank You Boulder Cycles.
What a great shop. We were visiting from out of town, and wanted to get out for a ride. The owner Justin and his crew got us on a couple sweet Scott Geniuses and pointed us to a fantastic local trail, riding distance from The shop . Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. I cant recommend them highly enough.
I bought a BMC last summer from BCS who were very helpful with test rides and working to get me on a great bike. Unfortunately BMC issued a fork recall which impacted my bike. The eta to get the matching fork was significant but Chris and Justin managed to get me a replacement fork to use in the interim. While I was in yesterday they checked over everything and made some small adjustments to get everything perfect for me. I very much appreciate the time and their help.
The staff are welcoming and very informed. They are clearly passionate about cycling. It can be a bit overwhelming if you are a newbie like me, though. Be prepared to spend a little time and a lot of money getting the perfect ride.
My first review said: “The guys were unhelpful when my girlfriends bike got shipped there”Since you begged me to change my review, here it is:Your condescending reply is more appalling than the store experience and is likely having material adverse effect on its own. ...”Review is unwarranted,” “need to have reasonable expectations,” “please reconsider your rating.”Reviews are left in order to facilitate customer expectations and enable owners privy to customer experience.A helpful staff is a reasonable expectation, so the first review was left to help others know to go with a friend to your store. After your combative reply, this review is to help others know to go to University Bicycles instead.
The staff at this shop are amazing. I recently rented a bike for a few days and the service from the team was great. Not only did they make sure that I had everything that I needed but they also spent time giving me lots of advice on local routes as well as non-cycling related tips on restaurants and breweries.
Awesome staff! Dan was incredibly helpful and I had an awesome ride because of his assistance. The bike I rented was top of the line and worth every penny. I highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase or rent a bike in Boulder.
Called to inquire about a bike and when I spoke to the owner he was very snooty and arrogant as if it was a hassle to help with info for the bike. I’ll happily take my money somewhere else. Check your attitude somewhere else, you’re in the service industry.
First-class service! I bought a road bike (Liv) and the follow-up service, particularly from Chris, has been non-stop since, from adding on (free) arrow bars, to private tutorial on how to pack bike in bike box, to really helpful suggestions on energy goo and chews. The perfect neighborhood bike shop!
Awesome experience looking for and buying a new bike. Paige was super knowledgeable and helpful when it came to finding the right bike for my needs. The whole team at the shop was helpful and stayed late to make sure I was dialed. Get a bike here!
Love this shop. Great selection and super helpful staff.
Start to Finish excellent service! Helped me build my dream bike and kept me up to date every step of the way. Thanks Justin!
I got a great deal on a new bike at the North office of Boulder Cycle Sport. The guys even waited a couple minutes after they officially closed to sell it to me, and they were very helpful and down to earth. Id recommend this shop, it was an overall great experience.
Boulder cycle is a great shop. Good selection of bikes for everyone. Apparel is cool and the shop has a good vibe. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to help out. Ill probably be buying my next full suspension from Boulder Cycles.
Excellent service and very friendly staff. I finished a bike ride today and couldnt get my shoe buckle to release. I stopped in at Boulder Cycle Sport (north) and a team of two service staff worked to get my shoe off and proposed a good and economical solution to fix the shoe for the future.Great team up there! :)
Great Bike shop!!! Everything from staff to product selection is top notch. These guys have been around and it shows in what they do. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a great shop that is going to take care of you for years to come.
Rented a high end road bike for copper triangle. They set me up with a better ride that I have at home. Great product and better staffers.
I just wanted to pass along my experience this week at the North Shop. I was looking for a new road bike and worked with Steven. He set me up for a fit and got an R3 spot on Thursday. I came back on Friday after they shipped a CR2 up from the South store. Steven set it up for me, and I went on another test ride. I loved the CR1, it was smooth, and fit me like a glove. Steven installed spacers in the brake levers to adjust for the shortened fingers on my right hand. I can only describe the whole experience as excellent. Stevens knowledge and desire to provide the very best level of service made the whole process enjoyable. Its just a pleasure to work the people at Boulder Cycle Sport.
Best free air in NoBo! Had some leaky tires and a dead pump on the way to a ride Saturday. Boulder Cycle Sport was able to fix me up right away! Thanks again!
Been here a couple times and purchased a bike too. Sales helped and understood my budget and got me a great fit. They have also helped to service the bike and keep it tip top. Great selection and staff.
Excellent staff, bike selection, and overall experience in the north Boulder store. Deliberated for awhile on the right bike. Paul especially was very helpful and patient. Service center also great. Recommended!
Very friendly & helpful staff, combined with a relaxed atmosphere, made it a pleasure picking up a new bike from this shop. They even watched my dog in the shop while I test rode bikes. Like most bike shops, their stuff is pricey, but they had clearance racks (that actually had a few things in my size) both times I visited.
Cut my steering tube and installed the crown race while I waited. Had the right tools and the right knowledge. Very reasonable charge. Thank you.Update: Stopped in Boulder Cycle Sport -North today with another fork that needed to be cut. They cut it immediately while I waited and then said there was no charge! Cant get better service than that.
I bought my mountain bike from Boulder Cycle Sport in 2014. The bike did not originally come with tubeless tires, so I recently went to the service shop to make the upgrade. The mechanics did an excellent job of truing my bent rear wheel, as well as converting the wheels to tubeless. My only complaint is that the tubeless conversion was $35 per wheel, which is expensive considering the small amount of labor it actually takes to convert a wheel to tubeless. In general, this shop is solid and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a bike repair in the Boulder area.
These guys are the best! Knowledgable and helpful sales staff. Very skilled and pleasant wrenches. Ive bought my last two bikes here (a Scott Plasma and a Giant TCR) and have taken all my bikes here for service for years. Theyre also supporters of local charities. Pay them a visit next time you need a tune up or want to flirt with that N-1 formula (where N = the number of bikes you own before she leaves you.) You wont be disappointed.
Stopped by here because of a flat tire and the crew was so nice! Great service and they help recommend good routes around Colorado!
We rented road bikes from Boulder Cycle Sport yesterday. From our first call to inquire about the bikes, we were super impressed with the friendliness and efforts to help us get the right ones for our single day to ride in Boulder. After arriving, every single person at the shop was beyond friendly and knowledgable. We worked with Andy to get set up, and he went above and beyond in every way. I joked (but was serious) that there needs to be an option for one of them to ride and guide new riders in Boulder -- we wish all bike shops were like this one! We will certainly return, and cant wait to do so! 5 stars +.
Friendly and knowledgable staff, fully booked up repair and tuning schedule. I bought my last road bike from them and was very happy with the service. The last couple of tune-ups werent so good with a persistent gear change problem - turned out (amongst other things) the chain was on the wrong way around.
On a ride on Broadway heading north today and stopped at BCS. I lost the the crank arm cadence magnet yesterday and went nuts trying to find a replacement at my usual bike shops. Since I was close, I decided to stop in and check. I went straight to the service counter and asked if BCS had a magnet for my Trek Domane. BV and local Trek couldnt help, but in less than 5 minutes, I was on the road compted with a new magnet from the awesome service guy at BCS. Bravo Zulu all around. NOT my last shop. Thanks guys. Highly recommended.
Special thanks to Chris for fixing a frustrated bikers bottom bracket! Brought it in and they asked how soon I needed it back, they had it fixed within 24 hours, a day faster than the quoted and I asked for.
Extremely friendly and knowledgable staff are always on hand to help you with whatever cycling interests you have. The atmosphere is calm and lets you go at your own pace.
Ive had an absolutely outstanding experience with this store the last week buying a bike, getting maintenance and a tune up and working with John on a bike fit. Just above and beyond awesome.
Incredible service by the BCS crew! Their knowledge and precision in getting my bikes back in race-ready shape is beyond my expectations. Id had a fork that required service by the manufacturer and when I came to pick up my bike, a loaner fork was installed and ready to race. When and where does that happen? Thanks BCS!
Thanks to Justin and his great shop got my Brand New BMC I bought from them back on the road quickly and efficiently...thanks for the great Service love your shop its by FAR the best around!
Excellent service...they fixed my bike quickly and price was extremely fair. Thanks guys and gals.
Been going to BCS since moving to Boulder a year ago. The service is second to none. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Keep getting excellent and rapid service whenever I need to get my commuter fixed. Very convenient to have a South Boulder location!
Great place! Always happy to help out, great advice, friendly folks.
Great customer service with no push to sell. Highly recommended.
Took my bike in to be serviced, guys were just rude and standoffish. Not blatantly, but in a way I didnt feel welcome.
Super friendly and good knowledge of the area. Would chill again.
Really friendly staff - always smiling when you come in. huge stock - they always have what I need.
I tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt too many times. My dealings with this shop have unfortunately led to much frustration, and I will no longer be giving them my business.I was in the market for a new Yeti at the end of Summer 2016, so I opted to demo the SB4.5c and the SB5c. A few days before the demo they inform me that they sold off all their demo 5cs, and were replacing it with a 5.5c at a discounted demo price.... OK, whatever, its the end of demo season so I can understand that.I decide on purchasing the 4.5c, and they tell me it will be ready a few days before I was leaving on a road trip with my new ride. They said they would call me when it was ready. The day they said it would be ready rolls around, and I havent heard anything, so I call them and verify. They say it will be one day late. Ok. Next day rolls around, still havent heard anything, so I call and verify AGAIN and Im told it would be another day late. Ok, I understand stuff can happen at the warehouse, its probably not BCSs fault. Bob understood that this meant that I had to push my trip back a day, and was very apologetic and personally ensured that I got my bike, along with a $200 gift card.Honestly, Bob is the reason this is not a 1 star review. He is an excellent, knowledgeable, friendly person and I enjoyed doing business with him personally.Throughout the year, I took my bike in for a number of service appointments, from a tuneup to dealing with my dropper post that started leaking. I received my bike back late from every one of these appointments. The last straw came when I tried to replace my fork lower. BCS Service was incredibly difficult to communicate with. After they said they would get a quote from Fox and call me, I waited 4 weeks without any word from them when I followed up myself. They said Fox didnt have them in stock. That would have been nice to know earlier. I waited an additional 3 weeks and followed up AGAIN after no word, and they said they finally got a quote and said I should have received a call about it. Well guys, I didnt.Frankly, I feel incredibly disrespected after giving this business many thousands of dollars for gear and service. The treatment they have shown me, as a serious customer, has been mostly dirt poor. I will be patronizing other more competent shops from now on, and probably should have just called it good after purchasing my bike.
Had an amazing experience working with these guys. Our associates name was Bob and we couldnt be happier with our purchase and experience.
I recently purchased a new cyclocross bike for my wife from Boulder Cycle Sport. Great experience across the board... The sales staff knows their stuff, the mechanics Dwayne and Katie are top-notch professionals with years of experience, and Coleman is the man when it comes to dialing in the fit. I highly recommend BCS for anyone looking for bikes, gear and/or fantastic service! Buying a new bike should be a fun, non-intimidating experience... at BCS it is! Thanks guys!
Got me squared away after my accident, worked with BMC for crash replacement. Helped fit me to the new frame and Im now Back to racing! Thanks guys!
Took my Lemond Versaille in for a tune up and got it back looking and feeling newer than new. These guys do a great job!
Im always amazed at the level of customer service at BCS. Its hard to imagine that, generally, customer service just isnt what it used to be in this day and age of technology. Brandon and the team at BCS are by far some of the top in all industries, and theres always something I learn when I patron BCS.
I visited Boulder Cycle Sport today because I have loved my Scott 2008 Addict but have had problems with hand numbness.Boulder Cycle sells the Solace and I had hoped it would rid me of my hand numbness on my road rides. They had me test ride three bikes, all surely great but all resulted in my continued hand numbness.I am submitting this response to the cyber world to let you know of more than a couple of things:First, they were very patient with me trying out bikes for 3+hrsSecond, they did not stop trying to help me figure out my hand numbness issueThird, they did not try to up sale me with a bike that might or might not fix my issueFourth and finally, Mr. John Coleman among two other great employees insisted that I try a bike fit. This instead of trying to sell me another bike. All this said - GO TO BOULDER CYCLE SPORT as they will not do you wrong; at least not for me.Thanks John and guys.Kurt
What is a community bike shop?A few years ago I was introduced to a new-to-me bike shop in town. I knew that they existed but never took the time to stop in and check ‘em out. I had been a cowbell-ringing fan of cyclocross for 5 years when I heard that BCS offered free clinics and welcomed newbies, so I figured it time to ‘suck it up buttercup’ and get out there! I joined the CX team and slowly began to become part of the community I had watched from behind the course tape. I gained enough skills to participate in a few races that season and found a new sport that I love, thanks to the BCS community.Over the months that followed I became a friend of the shop. I met for rides leaving from there; if my roommate was going to buy parts I asked to come along; if it was bike related BCS was now my first thought. And the shop really shone one evening when I stopped by, in tears because my beloved TT bike, “Greased Lightning,” had been stolen only hours before. The staff was a wealth of support and information on how to deal with a bike theft (craigslist posting, notifying pawn shops, renter’s insurance, hugs etc.) I left the shop feeling very comforted. If that wasn’t enough, they posted on Facebook (my favorite means of communication) they had found the perfect ‘Szabo size’ bike for me. About a week later I was fitted and back out on the road with “Danny Zuko” and a new-found spirit for the cycling community. No matter what I’m doing, if I’m near the shop I make it a point to ‘stop by’. Sometimes it’s to make a valid purchase, other times it’s literally in one door saying “hi” and out the other waving good-bye. They’ve welcomed my silly gregariousness, engaged in my shenanigans, and entertained my desire to ride with guts and grace. They themselves reciprocated the fun by facilitating “Steve Austin” – a cyclocross bike a ‘secret admirer’ bestowed upon me.It doesn’t seem to matter that I can only lead the back, or that I lack the skills to bunny hop, or that my pocketbook isn’t the thickest in Boulder County. BCS always makes me feel like I’m the richest customer.Enjoy the ride!Szabo
Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable sales staff!
Super frustrated with service side...perhaps wrong bike in for repairs for this high end shop...
Best service, knowledge, and product around.
Great folks, outstanding customer service
Chris is the best!
Sean and Team are the BOMB!!!!
