I am a beginner bike rider, and went to Bike Farm with a recommendation from my sister to buy a commuter bike.Anna, the associate that helped me, was very patient with me and answered all my questions as best she could. When she didnt know an answer, she called out to the many other knowledgeable workers there.Willie, with all of his biking expertise, helped me choose a bike, and gave me tips on how to handle hills, how to find cycling groups if I wanted to, taught me how to properly load a bike into the car. Everyone was super helpful. The shopping experience was very relaxing. They let me ride 6 or 7 different bikes and allowed me to ride them multiple times. They also listened to me when I said that I had an issue with one of the shifters. I thought it was a problem with my riding technique, but turns out the chain was a bit stretched at that point. At no point did I feel pressured to buy a specific bike or more expensive bike.Overall, it was a pleasant 1.5 hours that resulted in a purchase that I feel strongly and comfortable about. I would recommend people check out bike farm if theyre looking for an awesome bike shop. They also sell longboards and breathy attire, which I thought was neat.

They didnt have the part I needed, but--even better!--they were able to fix the broken one from my bike, for less than the cost of a new part. Reusing the part made me feel good about being less wasteful! The guys in the service area are super friendly and helpful every time Ive been there. They clearly just want to see everyone happy on bikes. And theres a TON of inventory available in the shop.

He respected my budget and found bikes that fit my needs. He also showed me how to remove the front wheel before putting it into my car so I was able to put it back together without any issues.Friendly and courteous staff that doesnt push you for the sale and a wide selection of bikes. Initially when I decided to buy a new bike I was filled with a lot of anxiety and questions about what kind of bike would be best for me. I only had a vague idea of what I needed in a bike, and was so used to shops not having anything in my size. All of that anxiety disappeared when I met Willie and was greeted as soon as I walked up. Willie knew exactly what to ask and had all the knowledge we needed to narrow down the variety they had available to find exactly the kind of bike I needed. He made sure it was a good fit not only for my body but also for my lifestyle and made sure I was absolutely comfortable with what I found. I will absolutely be coming back whenever I need supplies or repair work done! Austin Bike Farm is a local gem that absolutely deserves your business!

I first came to Bike Farm tonight a little reluctant as I had never heard of the business, but I found all of the other bike shops in town I had been to were closed or out of mountain bikes. However, Im so glad I came! Lex and the rest of the team took amazing care of me and helped me find an amazing bike within my budget. I really appreciated that Lex took the time to answer all of my questions, helped me get all the accessories I needed, and took the time to explain all the warranties and such. They even installed a bike pouch that I had already had with me. They went above and beyond to ensure I was all set and ensure the bike I was getting was in top notch condition for me, as they knew I was concerned about safety buying a pre-owned bike. Based on my experience here Im reccommending anyone I know come to Bike Farm - compared to all other bike shops Ive been to they blow them out of the water. I appreciate this place HONESTLY!! i went to the the old location years ago when i was deciding to buy a bike. Jay helped me out and showed me a few bikes but i didnt buy anything.fast forward til 2-3 weeks ago. i ordered a bike and it was delivered in a box and i wasnt gonna mess it up. i took it to be a assembled on Friday a little after 1pm, dropped it off and i got a voicemail before 2pm that it was finished. WHAT!!?? picked it up that night and it was the best $50 i spent.about 2 weeks ago i spilled and damaged the bike, front shifter was leaking and my brake wasnt applying. took it in last week on Friday and Jay called me to tell me i needed a new shifter. shifter was expensive AF but i sourced my own AND this is how i know i wasnt being scammed. Jay said he could order the part but it was $300, sounded exorbitant to me. i found the part online for $200 ONLY because it was on sale. they are honest with the services and parts.on Friday i dropped the part off to Jay, he installed it and called me a few hours later and told me everything he had to do. Saturday on my ride, my front derailleur wouldnt shift to the big cog, i mainly stay in the 34T but i want my stuff working properly. took it to the shop at 12:10 right after they opened and its packed already. i pull up and explain the problem, Jay shows and i let him know what happened. 20 minutes later im riding and shifting around the lot. all good again.these guys and girls are plentiful and helpful, i will continue to support

WARNING!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH REPAIRS!!! I dropped my bike off on June 23 with a repair estimate of 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. After 2 weeks passed I called wondering if my bike was finished and an incredibly rude employee told me they do not tell customers the status of their bike repairs because it takes them too long to sift through all the tickets. Whaaat? Finally after THREE weeks I got a call saying they were about to actually START repairs and just noticed that one item wouldn’t be in stock until mid-September but even if it was in stock it takes a week for items to arrive. They hadn’t even STARTED after 3 weeks!! I had a trip planned that this bike should have been ready for. If they took the time to tell me my repair status over the phone I would have picked it up immediately. Bike farm is run by unorganized, lazy clowns. DO NOT GO THERE unless you can go without your bike for a full season.

It was surprisingly difficult to buy something. I just wanted one item (a part for my bike that I could not get without an employee grabbing it from the back). Through the whole process of asking for it, deciding which I wanted, then getting someone to finally take my money so I could get out of there, I felt like I was a low priority, since I wasnt buying an entire bike. So I ended up standing around for about 5 minutes in a somewhat crowded place with people who werent all wearing masks wondering when someone would finally take the 30s to charge me.I think theyre getting a huge surge of business from people wanting to buy bikes on account of the pandemic. They seem to have a bunch of inexperienced employees, so Im not surprised things arent going super smoothly. But for me it was a frustrating and off-putting experience. Hopefully it will get better.

Ive had it with these guys! Came here regularly, really tried to develop a relationship, to support what looks like a cool neighborhood bike shop. Dropped quite a bit of money on purchases and repairs. For all that, I didnt want any special treatment, but thought that basic honesty Ive deserved. Yesterday I came because I felt a slight hop on the rear wheel of a bike. Asked them to true it; owner suggested that I leave both wheels. Today I came to pick them up. I asked straight away whether they both needed truing. The mechanic responded that only one needed it. I was still charged for two, because thats how many I had left; never mind that the owner suggested that I do. I wont be coming here anymore; and I suggest that you dont either.

I came to this place late one evening intending to browse their selection of road bikes and road bike frames. I was in the market to either buy a used one built to my specification or piece one together with my choice of parts. Immediately I could see they had a few bikes to choose from. At this point Sean comes up to me and asks if I could be helped. I told him what I was looking for and he toured me around the place showing me a few bikes they had that I might be interested in. Once I told him I wanted a single speed he led me to the best bike I could have ever come across. It was exactly what I was looking for and at a great price. I simply could not pass it up and I bought it right then. Sean was very pleasant and informative, and I did not feel sold or swindled. Got a great product and a great price. Ill definitely be back.
