Jeni and Brad were wonderful. My daughter was hit by car last year, her knee had some damage and the accident obliviously shook her up, but she has recovered. She really wanted another Fairdale bike because she loved her last one, and as everyone knows it’s been hard to get a bike d/t COVID. Jeni and Brad put in the effort and persistence and were able to find her the bike wanted. Jeni sent multiple emails keeping me updated throughout the process. When they received the bike, Brad put it together and it was ready to roll. A million thanks for all your hard work. She will be out riding her bike this morning!!!

This place is awesome! Great shop and great owner. Brad is the nicest guy, super helpful and caring about getting you the right equipment and getting you out on your bike! I just got my Kona Sutra from him (he ordered, assembled and kept me informed along the way)... Highly recommend! Thanks Brad!!

Im sorry, but I am disappointed with the results of my visit to Bikealot. I had a problem with my hybrid puncturing the tube right next to the presta valve stem. The tube had been in use for a couple of years. The tech examined the wheel, and installed a rubber grommet in the hole, along with a new tube, and charged accordingly. This was Friday. We rode around in McKinney Falls State Park. On Saturday evening, it was flat. Same spot. He didnt fix my problem, and he is not open until Tuesday.

Seems like a good place but they apparently wrap up early on Friday’s. Went by at 530 and they were closed.

After 25 years of riding the same 95 steel MTB, I finally decided to buy a new gravel bike, wanting a Kona Rove DL. This was in Sep 20, when there wasnt a bike to be found in the US. I reached out to Brad and he placed an order with Kona, but after a few weeks it became clear I wouldnt see it until spring 21 @ the earliest. Thats when Brad went to work on my behalf. He conjured some magic that only someone with decades in the bike industry could and found me a frameset. I told him my vision/budget and after a few months of searching he was able to finish this build for me, WAY exceeding my expectations. This was not an easy build during the pandemic. A perfect ride for me, totally dialed in. Brad doesnt just work in a shop, he lives and loves bikes like few others. He was responsive and available the entire process. This is a shop that gives back. Excellent product, service and experience. Thanks Brad.

The gentleman in store was very rude and not helpful. Although he was in the shop, he insisted I call to ask if he could repair a kids bike tube. Told me no and end of conversation. If you want to go to a place that has no customer service and is not the least bit helpful, this is your place.

I was recently hit by a motorist while riding my bike on S Lamar which bent my front wheel, which rendered it unrideable. I took it into Bikealot and, as I am not a bike expert, I spoke with Brad about what I needed to get up and running again.Brad is very kind and knowledgeable and he took care of me in a quick and friendly fashion. It took about 15 minutes for him to replace the wheel, as well as a few other small fixes to my bike, and nowMy bike is in great condition and I am happily back out riding again.I would highly reccomend Bikealot for any bike problems you may have, it’s a great business run by great people.

Way over priced bikes, but at least you know you are not getting a knock off. The customer service is always pushing to a high profit margin bikes, even if you are shopping for a specific bike. My daughter wanted a beach cruiser for her birthday. Something simple cute ride in the springtime. Thats what she wanted. But they kept pushing us to the mountain bikes any commuter bikes even though that is not what she wanted. Reset all the sales rep over and over. But they kept pushing us to a commuter bike. After about 30 minutes of that we gave up and left. Went to academy inbody beach cruiser. Because the sales agent beach cruisers wouldnt be good for my daughter.

I was run over two years ago and had to have an insurance company payout for a new bike and had no clue how to even begin. My Aunt who is also a customer recommended them to me. They got with the insurance and helped me to get a new bike and back on the road. I really appreciate the help I received from them and wish I didnt have to move to another city.

I would leave less than a star if possible. I stopped by because my bike suddenly had a problem that made it unridable. The owner or staff member couldnt be bothered with it and found an easy out by reacting to/conveniently misunderstanding something I said. I sat outside at the tables for awhile to wait for the bus. When I got up to walk my bike to the bus station he was playing fetch with his dog inside. I will never attempt to bring my business there again nor recommend it to anyone. (Hint: Im not homeless, but when I go out I often carry a hiking-style backpack so am sometimes mistaken for it. Just saying this isnt the first time Ive noticed this chicken s***)

I have now had two great experiences with work done by Brad and Eric. My first positive experience was last year after the big bike shop that sold me my bike told me it would be two weeks to perform a relatively easy repair. Brad got it done quickly and for a fair price. Several months later when I needed other work done and some upgrades, they took care of me again.

Great bike shop, really good selection of merchandise for real world bikes, and excellent service. I was shuttling my daughter to Austin and brought along one of her wheels that needed true because I had some time to kill. Brad turned around the wheel for me in an hour, charged me less than he should, and did a perfect job.

I was lucky to find this store and fall in love in a Pashley bike on the spot. I really enjoyed chatting with the owner (Brad), who is a very experience bike mechanic. I like also the store location, which this part of Austin was lacking such speciality shop, that now Bikealot can offer—I highly recommend service and product to anyone, who is looking for affordable good looking and functional bicycle.

My 14-year-old sons Mongoose bike he uses to ride to school had the rear inner tube come out. My husband took the bike over to the shop and the guy at the counter was extremely rude to him. He basically told him, We dont fix department store bikes. He didnt even stop what he was doing to address him with eye contact. He wouldnt hear any further what my husband was trying to ask him. Im sorry we didnt buy him a $2000 bicycle. But I feel he couldve at least fixed it for a child. This is the last time I will ever do business with this shop and Ill be sure to let everyone know to do the same.

I had a pretty poor experience at this shop. I asked for help with something on my bike that i wasnt 100% sure about and the worker knew less than I did. Didnt even take the time to look at the bike but sure couldnt take his eyes off of whatever was in his hands he was working with. Takes 3 minutes to just help me out and give me some advice. So many other local bike shops in austin that will help you in more ways than this shop can.
