My daughter, son-in-law and I took the guided bicycle tour at 10am on Oct 25th, 2021. We had a large group (10) but Paul (in the middle of the photo) kept us together, SAFE and informed. I’m nearly 60, but the 12 miles in 2.25 hrs were mostly flat and easy going. Some trail riding, some bike paths, a bit of road riding. A great way to wrap up our F1 Grand Prix weekend. Thank you Paul!

This was our first time in Austin and we wanted an activity to get an overview of the city. We booked the Austin in a Nutshell tour. Our tour guide was Paul. He was an amazing tour guide and gave us lots of information about the city! We could tell he takes a lot of pride in Austin. The bike trails around Austin were extensive and we saw a lot of the city. Paul accommodated the needs of our family and we had a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing tour with Cody! We booked a tour without much expectations (and absolutely no training!), and we were a bit worried about cycling in the heat. But Cody took care of pacing as needed, had plenty of water to keep us fresh and took us around the city sharing interesting facts about city life. Thank you for the great experience!

Would definitely recommend the e-bike tour if you’re keen to see as much as possible in a small amount of time. We only had 2-days in Austin and this was a great way to get a feel for the city in a few hours.Hot tip: Very close to Barton springs so bring your bathers and go for a dip after the bike tour to cool down.

We did our tour with Michael. we really liked the tour itself as it was showing us the different parts of the city. Also the most part of the tour was through parks or less busy streets which made it very safe. Michael took the time to explain us stories behind several points of interests. Also he stopped at times to take a picture of us when appropriate. Overall a great experience.

We had such a great time with Jacob as our guide! We did the easier family tour since we have kids that like to complain about ANYTHING active and it was the perfect combination of movement, education, and humor. Paul was awesome! Seriously, he was the best tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Neither of us had ridden a bike for awhile and we were feeling a little rusty, so Paul took the time to go over some basics with us before we got started on the tour and made sure we stopped as often as we needed to. He is also very knowledgeable about Austin, and his stories and facts about the city and the Barton Springs area in particular most will find very interesting. We will definitely be back for another bike tour in the future!

Took the 10 mile bike tour with Daniel and had so much fun. We were on a trail for about 70 percent of the time and stopped by many iconic places along the way. It was a very scenic trail, although a tad bit cramped. But that was to be expected as we went on a Saturday morning. The other 30 percent of the bike was in the city. We went around downtown Austin looking at one of the most famous hotels as well as stopping by the capitol building. They provided fresh cold water bottles throughout the journey. Oh man what a fantastic experience! This place does it right, my friend and I were visiting Austin and found out about Bartons Springs Bike Rental & Tours through the visitors center. I called them and with eagerness they let us know they would happily wait and have one of their guides ready for us when we arrived. We got a very kind man whose name is Michael! He showed us everything, had fun and interesting information about every site we seen. It was a fantastic tour, really thankful for the experience. His pace was easy enough to follow and even though the trails were packed he lead the way with zero hiccups or mistakes. Thanks Michael. Always a man of my word and it was a pleasure meeting you.

Overall A for customer service, but D+ mountain bike. I wouldnt use their MTBs for any reasonably serious trail riding!I have rented premium mountain bikes from Barton Springs twice. The first time, the gears on my friends bike seized up repeatedly and front derailleur didn’t shift well. The second time, my bike’s tires had very little tread and the chain literally broke as I was biking a trail - I could’ve gotten seriously hurt. Their mountain bikes are entry level hardtails and are not reliable on the trail. Not worth the price or the “premium” label. However, to their credit, the staff were really nice about our issues and offered refunds under the circumstances. Also a disclaimer: I have no idea if the road bikes and cruisers are in better condition than the mountain bikes.

Did a bike tour with them when I first visited Austin in summer of 2018. I booked it online and they picked me up at my hotel downtown for free. The tour was a great way to see the city in an efficient way and amount of time. It was also very informative. The tour helped contribute to me falling in love with Austin and wanting to move here, which I did a year later. Staff was super friendly and even dropped me off on Soco after my tour, free of charge. Highly recommend for someone visiting town or just wanting to experience all that Austin has to offer. I’ve rented a bike while traveling in many places over the years. Of all of my rental experiences, Barton Springs Bike Rental offered some of the best service I’ve had!It was easy to reserve and pay for the rentals online, the shop employees were flexible and attentive, and the shop fulfilled everything they promised with a smile on their faces! Two of us rented hybrids for our 5 day, first-time visit to Austin, and we tooled around everywhere comfortably on those things, both day and night! We had a U-lock, lights, and an optional basket. While the bikes clearly have gotten plenty of use, they were smooth and functioned well. When a spoke broke on one of the bikes, they traded the bike out for another instantly and without fuss! Finally, when we decided upon return of our bikes to ask for a shuttle and they had none available, they immediately arranged for an Uber. These employees were casual and easy-going like Austin is reputed to be, but their service was surprisingly more akin to what I would expect in a fast-paced, large city. These employees are hard-working and easy-going, and we watched them be so patient with newbies. I highly recommend Barton Springs Bike Rental!
