Best bike shop and experience! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in and out of the shop. Over a year ago, I was riding on the east side and my chain slipped. Hannah just happened to be riding by and stopped to help me. She was so kind and mentioned that she worked at Cycleast as a bike mechanic and to come by if I ever needed anything. This always stayed in the back of my mind so when the time came that I needed my bike serviced (over a year later) I brought it in and Hannah was genuinely happy to help. Best shop and service in Austin!

I was looking for a specific bike frame in a specific size. Someone on Facebook let me know that Russell had one available at his shop. This was my first time ordering a bike and having it built up and delivered. The process of working with the Cycleast crew was awesome. They built it up exactly how I wanted after input from their team. It was packaged up professionally and delivered within a couple of days so I could get riding.If I lived in Austin, Im sure Id visit frequently. I live in Iowa, though, so those of you closer to Cycleast can visit the team for me!

My story was a bit of a saga... I bought a new e-bike and added a basket that didnt quite work and chewed the fender a bit. Long story short, they ordered a new part in that was better, but not perfect. Customized it to fit like a glove, and went above and beyond to do the thing right. Love these guys, thanks for everything.

Amazing customer service! Timmy (may be Tim) was so helpful and walked me through what was wrong with my bike and was friendly from the start. It was a quick and easy fix and I was out of there within the hour. I came in worrying about being ripped off but everyone at Cycleast made me feel so welcomed right away. Put a bike seat on for me but didn’t warn me of details about the quality of parts of the seat until I came back after almost falling off my bike because the seat wasn’t on well. Never apologized or took responsibility just argued with me on why the seat didn’t stay on well. Then called my seat parts cheap when all they had to do was say the first day hey I advise you get better seat parts. I never got any warnings.!!!!! To hush me because I was clearly frustrated and upset they finally apologized and gave me new parts for the seat. They didn’t seem happy about doing it…more appeasing…last time going there

I really need some work done on my Scott bike thats seen better days. Seems like a great place, based on reviews, although website is a bit lackluster 😓. Its a bit unnerving to not be aware of the services that are offered & the pricing for a la carte or bundled services (basic check, tune-up, major overhaul, etc). Im browsing around & I dont feel its feasible to take time out to physically go on location for mere pricing.Also, maybe if on-hand bike inventory was available, that would be awesome or be more informative on how to get the right bike for the right person, since I see from reviews people get custom bikes built. Would love to know how what the price rage goes for something like that!

Cycleast really knows their stuff! They were helping multiple people while I was there. Each person had different questions and needs and they handled each client with expertise and without missing a beat! I was super impressed. Im a small rider and I thought they wouldnt have a bike that fit me but they did! The person that was helping me was able to look at me and tell me they had some that would work for me and my height! Ive always had such a hard time and this was easy.

Have been using this shop on and off for years. Used to live nearby, but have since moved to S. Austin. Still bring my bikes (and my girlfriends) here for service.Staff is friendly, quick to respond, friendly,and communicative. Ive seen them take care of bikes by recycling parts, creative solutions, and providing options-- not always upselling or scrapping.Additionally, there is no snootiness by anyone here, regardless of customer or customers issues. I bought a bike direct from manufacturer online, and they serviced it immediately without a hint of snobbery. Bought a bike directly from them and they service it without question, even if its a simple fix I should have been able to spot myself. Help people pick out a bike, whether its their first or a competitive cyclist. They offer free air to people in the neighborhood who cant afford their own pump. All-around stand-up good-natured shop.And they have good coffee (not free) while you wait.A+ Keep up the good work yall.

Possibly the best service and care Ive received at a bike shop. The staff is helpful, kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Theyre been available during the pandemic with great safety precautions. Ive put extra miles on my bike during this past year and theyve kept it in good working order. Ive sent weird bicycle videos to them to help diagnose problems. Theyve texted when my phone was acting up and the audio wasnt working. Truly great service.

Even after moving away from east Austin, I still come to Cycleast for all my bike maintenance needs. Their prices are fair, they work efficiently, and theyre always super kind. I dont know a ton about bikes and I feel comfortable coming here because they dont have a holier than thou attitude about their abilities. I also love that Flat Track Coffee is literally in the same building so I can get a coffee while I wait!

Theres no organizational system with their inventory. They will tell you they have the part and then when you get there, its nowhere to be found.

Recently purchased a mountain bike from Cycleast and Ive had some minor repairs done here in the past. The staff is awesome. Super knowledgeable, always friendly, fast and they do great work. Prices are reasonable esp for the quality + speed. Doug in particular did an amazing job with the entire purchase process. I just recently moved to Austin from Miami. I came across this shop while riding by at the right time. I got to chat with Russell, and he was super welcoming. Super down to earth and humble guy. The guys at the shop were great too. I highly recommend this place. Theres good vibes, coffee, great bikes, and genuine care. Which is rare in 2016. Im a long term customer of Cycleast. Ive never had an unsatisfactory visit. They have more than earned my regular business. Whether it was accidentally replace both sets of brake pads and not charging me the second set or letting me exchange my inner tubes because I was gifted the wrong ones, they have worked with me every step to insured that my main method of transportation runs smoothly and reliably. Tim did the impossible on the shot rear shock on my Genius 60. The extra care and attention he gave my bike was bar none! Set up front and rear like new, bringing a rear shock back to life that had locked up. Bled brakes and got my bike in great shape. Eventually, all roads will lead you to Cycleast. Dont waste time -- head over there now!! Extremely satisfied with my experiences here. Plus, they make a damn fine coffee!

A great group of guys who really care about cycling in Austin. They answer all my questions, and if they don’t have an answer they get back to me quickly. Yeah you read me right, they will call you back if they say they will.The amount of knowledge Russel has and can put towards finding a perfect solution for you bicycle needs is staggering.It’s a wonderful location near the hike and bike trail downtown.

Bike shop is great for quick, upfront repairs. One of the only shops in town open on Sunday. Roll up w a flat n roll out all fixed n good to go! If it is an easy fix they will help you on the spot. Reasonable prices and very personable staff. 100% recommend. Havent had any major repairs taken care of here yet, but i can assume itll be good based on my experience so far.

I just took my bike in for two new tires and a flat. Even though they were really busy I was handled with a great attitude, and Tim was gracious enough to spend enough time with me to figure out exactly what I needed. I got my bike back in 20 minutes, with enough time to get back to work. Tim even pointed me in the direction of a taco stand since I hadnt eaten!

Ive been here several times and they are always very welcoming! They let me use their air pump weekly for no charge. My fenders that I bought from them got bent, and they even offered to fix them for no charge since it was a simple readjustment. Ive bought quite a few things from this shop, and havent been disappointed yet!Id highly recommend this place, 10/10!

I don’t recall the man I just spoke withs name but darn it I wish I did. He had amazing phone etiquette and even tho the store didn’t have what I wanted in inventory he still attempted to find me a similar bike. He even went to above and beyond by taking my info and promised to call me if one showed up. I will be spending my money here once the city opens up!

This place is just the best all around. They don’t rush you to decide or push a sell. They take their time to make sure that what you are getting is truly what’s fit your size, suits your needs and what’s within your budget. I’ve dealt with 3 different guys up there and it’s just top notch customer service across the board. Could not recommend this place enough. I will never shop anywhere else in Austin for bicycle related needs.

I was ready to order a Civia Parkway EBike but they had 2 in each size in each color on the way. Russell was great emailing back and forth and getting things ready. When we arrived at the shop it was perfect. Table set outside. All the staff had masks. Hannah set us up for test rides on both sizes and explained the motor and shifting. so now, Alice, my wife of 42 years has her first new bike in who knows how long. She was grinning like a 7 year old. Great purchase experience.

Probably the best bike service i have received in austin. i ride a electric bike so most bike shops in town wont help me or charge extra for regular bike maintenance. everyone ive met so far at cycleast is friendly plus eager to help me get back on the road even when they are busy. i probably couldnt say enough great things about the owner who helped me several times when he could of had someone else do it. over all this place is unbelievably awesome, peace.

This is really more of a heads up. I took my bike here and they were going to chaprge me $150/hr just for the labor alone. They were nice dont get me wrong. I ended up saving over $100 by going to another place

Great customer service. We were looking for a thru axle to replace a broken one on my bike. They offered to let us have one off their floor model while they ordered us a new part. Unfortunately we are 3 hours away otherwise I would have jumped on the offer. Awesome customer service and I wish we were closer to support them. My local bike shops could learn from them.

Took my bike in for a tune-up and Russell ended up just making some minor changes to my seat and it made a huge difference. Then he suggested a different handlebar that could go higher and it was perfect. Such a great shop thatll likely become my local bike shop!

They even went above and beyond with a little custom work to make sure my water bottle would fit properly. Theyre not super close to where I live, but will always make the drive/bike out to them for work.

These guys are great. I rolled in there on an 80s French frame with a really weird seat post that was slipping. They cleaned up the contact points a bit and then flipped the seatpost head and it held fast after that. Honestly, I would have never thought of flipping the head around but it totally moved the leverage point and saved the ride. I put another 40 miles on the day after that.Great service, cool dudes who know their stuff. Highly recommend.

Cycleast. How do i love thee? Let me count the ways. This shop is HANDS DOWN, one of the best bicycle shops i have ever been to. Russell and his crew are personable AND knowledgeable! They have a great selection of bicycles and accessories, as well as the coffee shop, Flat Track. We showed up Saturday morning to do their “Coffee Outside” ride, and were greeted by so many other friendly cyclists! We were treated to a great little ride down to Zilker Park, as well as great conversation! We will continue to shop here whenever we are in town, and would highly recommend them to anyone else!

I come in here a lot with my pup to get coffee at Flat Track. Stopped by the shop last month to take a look at some All City bikes and was helped out by David (?). He was super awesome: talked me through some things to consider between different frames and helped me understand sizing a lot more than I did before. Absolutely didn’t pressure me to buy and was very understanding in helping me test ride multiple bikes so I could make an informed decision on such a hefty purchase as this was my first road bike for sport. This took so much edge off because I had no idea how to choose between so many different choices and price points.Ultimately I ended up purchasing a bike while visiting family in San Diego so I could ride with my brother, but it was awesome to be able to have a shop experience where I wasn’t treated like a rube and was instead treated like a neighbor. Will definitely be coming back for future purchases and service.

This place was amazing. A very friendly and honest staff. I went in thinking I needed a full tuneup on my bike and Jared helped me up. He said all I needed was some oil in my chain and air and didn’t charge me. I’ll be coming back to this place whenever I have an issue with my bike.

Went in for a tuneup and a replacement shifter. Got fast service by a tall and friendly fellow at an extremely reasonable price. The owner was genuinely interested in my riding experience, offered very worthwhile suggestions, and I never once felt pressured or up-sold. Really cant recommend this bike shop enough!
