My husband and I were about 2 hours from home when we blew a tire after hitting a huge pothole on a main highway. The guys at Washtenaw Auto Care Center had us fixed up and ready to go in less than 1.5 hrs. Very professional, reasonably priced, and just genuinely trustworthy individuals. I wish we lived closer because we would definitely be returning customers. Highly recommend Washtenaw Auto Care Center!

KUDOS!!! Last weekend I took my car to WACC to have them look at the engine splash shield that was torn and coming off the bottom of my car. I was quoted a price of $190 for parts and labor. Since the part needed to be ordered I waited until this weekend to have the repair done.When the mechanic started to do the work he noticed that he could make the repair without having to replace the part. Ash, the owner, let me know and explained the situation to me and told me that if it was his car he would have the same repair done to it. The repair was only $45.I know virtually nothing about cars, so had he had his staff do the initial repair that had been described I wouldnt have known any better.I cannot commend him enough for his integrity in forsaking the additional money that he could have earned. It speaks very highly of his character and honesty.I hope he is rewarded with additional success in his business.

One of the tire pressure sensors on my vehicle was malfunctioning, so I took it to Washtenaw Auto Care Center for repair. I called a week in advance and made an appointment for the following Thursday. They didnt complete the repair until just before close on Saturday evening. That was fine with me, although I wish my appointment time had been honored. What wasnt okay was the fact that less than 72 hours after receiving my fixed vehicle, the tire where the sensor had been replaced went completely flat. I did not realize the flat until I was driving, as the tire pressure warning light on my dashboard wasnt triggered as it should have been had the repair been done correctly. Not only was the repair done improperly, it made the vehicle objectively unsafe to drive. It was worse off for having done the repair than not having a mechanic service it at all. I had it towed to the shop and havent heard anything since. Very disappointing.EDIT: The manager (Sam) apologized for the mistake made during the repair and confirmed the TPS replacement caused the flat. They fixed the flat and I received a full refund plus a coupon for a free oil change. I appreciate the steps he took to make it right. My trust has been restored. I look forward to using Washtenaw Auto Care again in the future.

I can’t thank these guys enough. Woke up to a bad flat and took it to the Washtenaw Auto Center. Sam at the front desk greeted me with a smile and said that they’d take care of me. Dave, a young mechanic here, was brilliant with his knowledge and quickness. Couldn’t beat the service and price! They even changed it for me. I locked myself out if my car while i was across the street at wild bills.I stood outside freezing for about 15 minutes trying to find a tow truck when i looked up and saw this place across the street. The man was so nice and was there and let me in my car in less than 5 minutes at no charge. It was so appreciated!. Very genuine. 10/10 highly recommended

I came here after my brake line broke on my car. They tried to tell me that my calipers were seized and that I had brake fade and everything. They tried to make me repair good parts. Never coming back. They definitely target women here as customers.

Took my Jetta here 3 times for a purge valve issue that was causing rough starts and stalling out after I put gas in the car.After every single visit the check engine light came in within 24 hours of leaving the shop, always under 50 miles. The last time it came back on on my drive home from the shop, and every time throwing the exact same engine codes. Every single time the first time I go to get gas after receiving my car back it still rough starts and stalls. The problem was never fixed even slightly after any of the three times I brought it in.On the third trip I was adamant about getting the car serviced, I called days ahead and let them know I’d bring it in on Friday and needed it fixed over the weekend. I was assured when I called, and when I dropped it off I would be given a solution Saturday. I never receive a call so I call them and they say “we didn’t get to it”. I’m sorry but after having to come back a third time for the same problem and being assured not once but twice that I’d have an answer by a certain time and then am ignored is ludicrous. On top of the fact that now first time getting gas after this third time they had the car it is now worse than it has ever been.The shop manager did the third trips work for free, but don’t let this fool you at all. He didn’t disclose what his plan was only that he was going to do it “under warranty” so I figured screw it let him do whatever and if it doesn’t work take it to a competent mechanic. Wel all they did was clean the parts that had been replaced not even 6 months ago, by them, and added a gas additive. It is clear he just did the cheapest bs he could to get me to leave.Needless to say I will never step foot in this mechanic again and I urge you to find somewhere else if you need car work.Update 4-28-2021. Got the car back from a vw dealership that confirmed these guys used parts that were non compatible with my car on top of incorrectly installing the purge valve, and some how were unable to realize either of these things with 2 additional times looking the car over. I’m now over 2,000$ into what should have been a 700$ fix. Small claims court will be my next step if they are anything besides happy to give me a refund.

I went here because I knew multiple people who went here and had no issues. Sam answered the phone, greeted me when I dropped my car off, called me to tell me it was ready, and explained the work done when I picked up my car. The wheel bearing was replaced at about $1000 less than the dealership.

These guys really took care of me when I had an emergency and needed my car sooner rather than later. They always do exactly what is needed, they do it well, at a fair price, and they dont get pushy about extra repairs like some places will. Would highly recommend if youre looking for a trustworthy mechanic.

TL;DR — Give these guys your business! Character matters.On a Sunday evening, just before closing time I heard a rattling in my car as my wife and I were moving out of state. I called around to a number of places in the area, but no one else would service me that late on a Sunday. Ash, the owner, happened to pick up my call and told me to swing by to try and help me out as much as he could, though he modestly added he didnt know too much.Diagnosed the car, changed my oil and when I tried to pay him and thank him for the late service, he waved me off, no questions asked. He explained that I must have had a hard enough day already, and that he didnt want to add to it. WHAT. A. GUY.Very rarely do you ever have these types of interactions anymore, and I just want to thank him as best as I could, living that good neighborly spirit.Id drive back to Michigan just to service my car here! Even while watching him interact with an employee and another customer, I just saw everyone feeling comfortable and happy to be there.

They first helped me with my alignment. Thought that was it, but turns out my tires were unbalanced as well. My boyfriend and I really needed my car fixed before the next day. Sam took care of us immediately, squeezing us in last minute since we needed it first thing in the morning. He was very kind and professional.

I had gone to two other repair shops to get an estimate for the damage to my car before going to Washtenaw Auto Care Center. When I got there everyone was really friendly, professional and honest. The work I needed done on my car turns out was an easier fix then the other shops had made it seem with a price that was WAY below what the other shops had estimated. They were also willing to help me on the spot which was sooo helpful.I never write reviews, but I had to for Washtenaw Auto Care Center because they deserve the praise.

Ive dealt with my fair share of mechanics in my life, but I can say with certainty that Washtenaw Auto leaves most of them in the dust. I feel like Im really being taken care of. If a part doesnt need to be replaced, theyll tell you. These guys understand the importance of having a long-term relationship with customers (which is probably why they stay so busy.) This is the only place Ill take my care to get fixed. Id rather take the bus for a week than go anywhere else. Sam, and the rest of the crew, have my business for as long as Im living in the area.

Spoke with Ash on Sunday 3:00 pm 8/20. He said come in. I was back at my house by 3:40 pm. Ash repaired my tire in less than 10 minutes and did it for free. All he asked was I “write a review.” So here it is: call Washtenau Auto first. Ask for ash. Explain your need. And trust what he says. I came to Washtenaw Auto Care in December 2019 on a recommendation from my significant other to buy winter tires and have them installed on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited. On the vehicle, I had a set of all-seasons which came from the Jeep dealership where I purchased the car.I explicitly stated that I was here to buy and install winter tires. Washtenaw Auto Care gave me three options for what they told me was their selection of winter tires. I went for the second-best option out of the three I was given. I wanted a good product within a certain price range.After they sold and installed the winter tires, I went to pick up my vehicle. Upon pickup, I waited in the lobby two hours past the time it was promised to be ready. Starting from here, this lateness would be the least of my concerns. When starting the car, I noticed that one of my tire pressure sensors no longer worked. I went back into the lobby and informed the person at the front desk of this issue. He assured me that the issue would most likely resolve itself in a week, and that if it didnt, I should call.I almost drove off the lot without my original set of all-seasons. At the traffic light, I noticed that they were not placed back in my vehicle. I had to circle back, go into the lobby again, ask where they were, and pick them up.A week passed since the installment and I called, because the tire pressure sensor issue had not resolved on its own. The person at the front desk said to come in after 5 days, because they had to order a part to replace the tire pressure sensor.After 5 days, I came back in. When I told the person at the front desk that I was the person who was having issues with my tire pressure sensor, he told me that they still did not have the part and that I should come back in after another week. I was deeply displeased with the service I received at Washtenaw Auto Care and did not have time to keep volleying this issue around. So, I did not return.I decided to have my “winter tires” exchanged for my original set of all-seasons at a different establishment. The mechanic at this other establishment informed me that the tires I bought and had installed at Washtenaw Auto Care were NOT winter tires, and that they were actually WORSE quality all-seasons than the ones I’d owned to begin with. I realized that I’d been driving around all winter on a pair of worse quality all-seasons. Not only had I been sold inferior all-seasons at Washtenaw Auto Care, I paid for their installment there, AND drove with less safe tires during the entire winter season.My tire pressure sensor still does not work.Here are some things I don’t understand.Why, if the mechanic who replaced my original all-season tires saw that I was replacing them with more inferior all-season tires, did they go ahead with the replacement? My original all-seasons were in good condition. I only have 38,000 miles on my car, and I had even less mileage then. The mechanic had to have seen that I was downgrading to worse tires, and more importantly, tires that were NOT winter tires. Why didn’t they say anything? I was very explicit about the single purpose of my coming to Washtenaw Auto Care. I was there to buy WINTER TIRES and have them installed. I was not sold a set of winter tires. Instead, I purchased a crappier pair of all-seasons, paid for their installation, and was returned my vehicle with a broken tire pressure sensor, initially without the original tires.I have no reason to trust Washtenaw Auto Center for their treatment of my vehicle, my time, and my money. I am not willing to accept any services or gratuities in exchange for editing this honest and accurate review. I will only accept a full refund for the inferior tires I purchased from Washtenaw Auto Center and the service installment fee.Even if I were to receive a full refund I would still have to pay a different mechanic to repair the tire pressure sensor that was damaged during the time my vehicle was with Washtenaw Auto Center. At this time, I am contemplating filing a complaint with small claims.

Their Services and shop work is great!! Sam conveniently looked through the work on my car double checked everything, called me and let me know right away what I needed done. Got my car fixed with no problem at all. Great mechanic shop, I’d definitely recommend them anyday. Great store hours, right on Washtenaw, and honest work! Very poorly ran establishment. I had my car towed there due to a blow out and they were one of the few shops open on a Sunday. The service manager was running late both days I visited this establishment. The employees were there on time, but he arrived at least 1.5 hours after the establishment opened. In addition, the service manager was the only person qualified to call their warehouse to see if they had my tire size, which they did not. On the second day I visited this business to have my car towed to another shop after the service manger informed me they would only be taking In vehicles that day (Labor Day) and only servicing one vehicle that day eventhough they were open for business. Not sure what that was all about. 🤷🏾

Ill tell you what I had a bad experience not because of Washtenaw Auto but because I was sold a wrong part at the auto store and we didnt know it was wrong till it was installed. The top guy at WCA handled everything in such an amazing way. From fixing my part and working with me (which technically was my fault) I will definitely be back to them with my future trucks. Great experience! They were able to fit me into their schedule quickly and with a lower cost than other shops. For my wheel bearing replacement, they let me bring in my own part and only charged for the labor.

Very hospitable staff. I came in asking to have my low beams replaced. Instead they fixed the ones I already had, and charged me less than half the initial price if I were to have paid to get them replaced. Very honest, would go again.

I was in a total bind. It was a Sunday, I had a flat tire and a softball event to get to with my daughter. The team has a heart! Instead of making me wait hours to get my tire fixed, they had me in and out in 15 minutes. I was EARLY to the softball event and my tire was patched perfectly -- I didnt have to buy a new one. $20 and out! Great group of people!

Called on a Monday morning w/ no appointment for a leaking tire. Dropped off 15 minutes later and car was in the garage being checked out within another 10. Sami & the guys had me in and out in 40 minutes (under half their estimated time) and for a very reasonable price. Free coffee and enough seating to have some personal space and get some work done. Thanks.Update these guys always take care of me. I moved about 15 minutes away and will still come back every time. Thanks for filling up my windshield wiper fluid even when I forget to ask.

They got my car in on a Wednesday, diagnosed the problem by Thursday morning, and fixed it by the end of the day on Thursday. While they arent always this fast, they get a whole lot of business, and for a good reason. Of all the mechanics Ive tried out in Ann Arbor/Ypsi, these are the only ones I trust. I compared a quote from them to my mechanic back home and they were almost exactly the same. 10/10, would recommend.

Took 4 days for a service that seemed to only take them a half of a day to do which ended up costing me over $200 in rental fees. When I got my car back, it had low tire pressure alarm and had the anti theft light flashing every second I drive (which I know they were aware of since they had to drive it out of the shop). I don’t want to take it back there for the anti theft issue since I’m sure it’ll be there for at least 2 days before they even can look at it. Now I have to worry about fixing this annoying issue and spending more money. Thanks.Also, they messed up and charged me a lower amount than my bill stated. I wasn’t aware of it until I received a text message from a workers number at 6:10PM (Which I DID NOT authorize to receive texts) threatening me telling me “We’ve tried reaching you consistently and left a voicemail. This is a courtesy text hoping you can pay before the end of the day tomorrow because I held upper management from taking further action. Please get back to me today and give me a heads up what’s going on.” with not paying my bill. YOU charged me the wrong amount, don’t blame our give me deadlines for your mistake. Before I could give them a call, they informed me they called the credit card company and now everything settled, but don’t threaten your customers because of a mistake YOU made.FYI, they did call me ONCE from the actual auto care number and the voicemail said “Give us a call back.” Not why, no reason, nothing. Why would I call back a place that left me with an additional problem?Would never recommend.

I left my Civic at Washtenaw auto care in summer 2018, for an oil change, transmission fluid change, and asked for the routine complimentary check. Guy calls me a few hours later to give a quote for an oil change and transmission fluid. Pretty reasonable pricing, as compared to other places. But also tells me that I need a steering fluid change as well. I ask him to go ahead and do the oil change and transmission fluid change. Once off the phone, I do some online search, and look at the manual, and quickly find out that my car has electronic power steering and should never need power steering fluid. A few minutes later I confront the guy on the phone regarding the steering fluid change, he completely backtracks, says he just assumed based on other fluid levels, that I would need steering fluid change as well and agrees with what I said.Several months later, I need another oil change. I go to different place, they tell me my transmission fluid (which I got changed at Washtenaw auto care) looks kinda dirty. I am surprised, but dont pay much attention to it. My next oil change, a different place tells me the same thing, only that it looks worse now. This transmission fluid is supposed to be good for ~50,000 miles. Mine started to look dirty within few months, maybe 2000 miles.Now, I am convinced:1. The guy at Washtenaw auto care tried to rip me off by telling me that I need steering fluid change, when I didnot need one. He basically agreed that he lied to me about it.2. The guy at Washtenaw auto care actually ripped me off, by either doing a really poor transmission fluid change; or worse by not doing it at all.Based on my experience, in summer 2018, I would NEVER go to this place.PS: I know this review is super late. Better late than never?

I recommended that my significant other go here to get snow tires and to have them put on, but when my SO took their car in for snow tires they both broke a tire pressure sensor and ordered all seasons after she specifically asked for snow tires and installed those, putting her in unknown danger all winter. When I went in to complain in person I was told we would be called back in a few days and theyd make everything right, but over a week later weve still heard nothing.(Edited to update the lack of callback.)

I really appreciate the integrity of the mechanics at this shop—we ran into a bit of a complication after the initial job but they were very kind and fair about how they proceeded. After multiple attempts of looking for a reliable auto repair shop, this one really seems to be it. I was very happy to see that a staff like washtenaw auto still exists. Overall, very forthcoming and genuine people. I dealt with Sam to service our family vehicle which is our only transportation and my only day off is Saturday. he was able to have it fixed the same day and it was a weekend which was impressive. The only stumble i had was the price of the job. Rather than jumping to conclusions, i shopped around and found out that the price I was quoted was actually very fair. Glad to continue servicing my car here.

Washtenaw Auto Care Center is a place you can trust to work on your vehicle. The owner works 10-12 hours a day and he and his business are worthy of your trust. They treat you exceptionally well and they don’t try to sell you or repair things you don’t need. This is the best mechanic I have ever had and I highly recommend them!

EDIT: Now they are saying I was never there! What?!?!? Here is a picture of the $140 bill that I was able to negotiate down to $120. How can they not have records of the cars they service?I had my car towed here Wednesday morning upon being told they could work on it either that day or Thursday morning at the latest. After repeatedly being told it would only take one more day, they did not actually begin work on the car until late Saturday afternoon. The repair they had to make was extremely simple. They were cleaning out the mass air sensor. I was told the cost was going to be $140. This is astronomically high as a bottle of air sensor cleaner can be bought for less than $10, and it takes no mechanical skill to spray it on the sensor. After stating my case for a lower rate, they relented to charge only $120. Washtenaw Auto Care kept me without my car for 4 days, forcing me to walk to work and get rides to school, only to clean my mass air sensor and charge an absurdly high rate. I will never give this place my business again and would not recommend it to anybody.

Had a flat along US 23 and got a ride to this location after being refused service at Walmart, Belle Tire and Firestone because they were too busy. They got my tire replaced and on the way in 20 min. Outstanding service and thanks for helping a stranded motorist when the others couldnt have cared any less.

Other shops in the area quoted me much more expensive service but the team here really helped clarify what the problem was and were able to finish the job quickly at a much better price. Had a really great experience here. I needed to get my muffler replaced and they were willing to work with me on the price. Service was fast, faster than he estimated especially for a drop in! Everything seems to be working great. The only thing is I did get a cheaper quote elsewhere, they just didnt have the time frame I was looking for. Would definitely recommend!

I would give them more than 5 stars! The best place to go for fixing the car. I took my 2005 Volvo with really bad vibration and they got the diagnostic quickly and the car is running smooth again. They are very honest and the price of fixing my car (Parts and labor) was very great. Very friendly and honest. Thank you Ashraf for your great help! Absolutely fantastic service. I got in and out in under two hours for a major repair that completely crippled my car. The mechanics kept me up to date and allowed me to further understand what was wrong and how quickly it would take to fix the car. I would reccomend the service here any day of the week.

Washtenaw Auto is the best and most affordable repair place in the area! They always make sure they explain, in detail, what needs to be done and what your options are. I needed a full break service + rotors done on a Sunday, I called at opening and they were able to fit me right in! I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
