I called ahead to schedule a drop off for brake repair and got just that, no more and no less. The car sounds and feels amazing again so thank you guys.

Integrity. I brought my vehicle in today because I thought the brake peddle felt a bit low. The crew got it in the same day, gave me a call and instructed me not to get a brake pad replacement. They rotated the wheels, changed the oil and let me know status of the brakes. I appreciate their integrity, knowing that they would not make a large sale today. Well, you just got a customer for life. Midas corporate, please recognize this store. Not too many service providers out there today would do the same. See you in a few months with my other vehicles.

I recently took my car in for an oil change, to have a tail lightbulb replaced, and to have a brake issue looked at. Even though they were really super extra busy, they were able to get things done quickly. I was charged less than I expected which was a nice surprise. They even explained to me in detail what the situation with my brakes is and we are going to watch them instead of just replacing them at great expense which is wonderful because I am kind of broke at the moment. And now I can drive without getting pulled over by the cops for a broken tail light and I know that my brake situation is not dangerous.

I’ve been here twice in the last three months. I trust these guys. They replaced my muffler, which had a crack in it, for a reasonable price. Another shop told me that I needed a whole new exhaust system for 3 times the price that this shop charged me. Then he sold me 4 tires for my sons old Prius. Did you know Midas sold tires? I didn’t. After the sale price on the tires and a quick application for a Midas credit card, the four tires cost me about $150 net.This week I returned with a flat tire from my Equinox. The owner found the hole and the nail and rather than fix it or sell me a new tire, they charged me nothing and suggested that I try getting it fixed or replaced at Costco where I bought the tire because it may be covered under warranty. I did exactly that, and the repair at Costco was free. I didn’t think honest people liked this existed in the auto repair business, but they do. I recommend them highly without reservation. And, no, I don’t work there nor do any of my relatives work there.

Fixed my car great work

Despite making an appointment, my oil change and air filter replacement took over two hours. This place was poorly organized, poorly communicated, and did not estimate their time well at all. Also, on the way home my car was unable to accelerate and the transmission was not working correctly due to them not reconnecting some of the wires, so the censors were not working.

Came in for a brake inspection. The mechanic informed me that everything looked good at the moment and gave me a time frame as to when I might eventually need service. It was refreshing to get an honest opinion and at no charge too! I promised I would come back when it was time. The price is best here compared to other Midas around and near Ann Arbor.

Incredibly expensive. This review is for 2015. Back then I was driving an old VW Golf 2.0L. It kept wearing out wheel bearings on the front left. Since it bothered me to replace them every few month I looked for expert help to have the underlaying issue resolved. They quoted me (at this exact Midas location in 2015) for several thousand dollars (which is 2x-3x the value I bought the car for). I actually fixed the problem back then by putting in a new driveshaft which cost me about 50$-60$ on RockAuto.

My husband (who was out of town)found another mechanic shop that would have charged $250-$300(for a used tank w/warranty& work).The overall service was nice(really welcoming) but was disappointed on the cost due to age of vehicle. I should have asked more questions and gotten a itemized statement. I feel its best now to wait for hubby on car issues.

Its been a few years since Ive been here, but weve taken two different vehicles here, one for a new alternator, and one for a new timing belt/water pump. They took good care of both vehicles. Not to mention they were about half the cost the dealer wanted to charge for the same service. And they always have several cars in their lot, so that really says something about their reputation.

I have been going there for brake repairs for 15 years. They have always done good work for me. As for speed of repairs, they are pretty good. They have even given me a ride home, so I didnt have to wait there.

One star is being generous. Let me start off by saying this review is 4 years overdue but if they still have the same manager (Bob Kissella) as they did when I last went, I would avoid this place. I had completely blocked this place from my mind until I recently got a coupon in the mail. I dont know how they got my current address( I have moved at least 4 or 5 times). I took my car in on 3/4/15 because it was overheating and I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. The mechanic (Paul) tells me that the radiator is leaking coolant and that it would have to be replaced. That same night I got the radiator replaced, I notice the car was doing the same thing it had been doing. I took it back in the next morning. This time they take the head gasket apart and tell me they cant put the car back together and that I would have to get it towed. As Im outside on the phone with the tow company, the manager (Bob) comes out smiling so Im thinking he has good news for me. He tells me he will give me $5 for my fuel door because he needs one for his car. How unprofessional

I could go on for hours about the love and respect for the men that work here. IF YOU LIVE IN THE AREA YOU SHOULD BE COMING HERE FOR AUTO WORK. They are honest and are willing to describe whatever work needs to be done. I always feel informed and like Im making the best decision for my car. They have worked with me on multiple occasions when Im short on cash and need work done. I have never had an auto shop treat me so well. Midas is my go to and recommendation for everyone I know.

Very awesome people here. Straightforward and communicative. They were able to ascertain the problem very quickly and were able to work with me and my budget to find a solution that would get me on the road again. I was out the door within less than 2 hours, which is significantly less that I have experience with in past automotive repairs. I highly recommend them.

A bit over a year ago, I brought my car into this Midas because the headlights had gone out. They spent some time looking over it, they told me they had replaced the bulbs and the lights were still not functioning, and that it would be a minimum of $100 to have the electrical looked at, plus a larger amount to have it fixed.Today, I had the car brought 45 miles away to a trusted mechanic, and they informed me there was no issues with the bulbs and all they needed was to be replaced.This is simply extortion, and I will not be visiting Midas again.

100% best car place in Ann Arbor. They will do you right and not try to up-sell you in any way. Honest and hard working. I wont go anywhere else again as long as I live in the area.

They charge more for oil than anyone else. The dealership charges $40. My regular mechanic charges $45. These guys charged $66. And in the process, their mechanic stripped the oil drain plug and they charged me to replace it. It also took forever. An oil change takes 45 minutes and thats what they quoted me. 50 minutes after they started, the mechanic called me back into the garage so I could watch him strip the plug.They also quoted me $90 to run the engine diagnostic that AutoZone and the dealership do for free.I only came here because it was an emergency. If I have another emergency, Im going to the shop on the other side of prospect.

The manager Paul is a strait shooter, very knowledgeable and runs a clean shop. They do good work at fair prices. Just seeing a national brand no longer guarantees great service. Its nice that your warranty will travel, but getting what you need fixed without the ubiquitous upsell is rare and refreshing.

Just left there and they are FANTASTIC! Had it towed at 130pm and just picked it up at 430pm. Had my water pump replaced and they gave me an estimate and I paid under the estimated price! Bob and the other mechanics made me feel like I was apart of their family. They are great at communicating and they will not rip you off. Dont go anywhere else!!!!

Kay, is probably the most informative and inviting recpetionist Ive encountered. Bob was very professional with thoroughly diagnosing and explaining my brake problem. Not only were they friendly, they were efficient as well. 10/10, I would recommend.

These guys have always taken great care of me -- and I can tell they are honest. My favorite thing so far is that they seem to be value conscious and will not over quote you for something you dont need. While other places would have me replace all four wheels and tires when I had an issue with one wheel (pothole damage), these guys fixed the rim on the wheel and saved me a lot of money. Works great.

0 stars if I could! Went there for an oil change, after it was done the mechanic told me my car had trouble starting up. Since I’ve had the car I have never had that issue. He told me he didn’t know what it could be but to let it run for a while and it should be ok. I drove it to my house and on my way there my engine light came on. When I got home I turned my car off and it would not start back up. I returned after having someone else fix it to see if they did something wrong and they wanted to check my car and wrote me a price list of almost $2,000 worth of work I needed. Would never recommend, they definitely wanted to get down on me because i’m a young female. I’m not from here and I usually take my stepdad to the auto shops with me. The one time I go somewhere new for only an oil change was the worst experience I’ve ever had!!!

The staff was professional, and happy to answer all my questions. Everything was well explained, and I was given a fair price.

I have found my dependable auto shop in the A2/Ypsi area. Your life is so much easier once you have someone you trust that can tell you what your car honestly needs and help you get it done without overcharging you. You cant trust most auto repair places. But Bob, the manager, and everyone here are friendly, helpful, and honest. I have come here for years with various cars, and at this point Bob knows me and always goes out of his way for me. This is the local neighborhood shop that tends not to exist anymore. Bring your car here and just explain whats wrong! Theyll do the rest.

Ive been here twice now for a tire replacement and oil change. They seem pretty busy usually since the parking lot is often full and you might be waiting around to be greeted for 10 min or so, but the employees are on top of things with fast turnaround.

Thanks to these guys my poor lil mini van that sounded like a death metal concert sounds like a prius 😂 when i came back home and parked it i sat for a minute with the engine running and my husband looks out the window and says is the car even turned on yeah i had to give them my left kidney but thats not anyones fault i wouldve ended up paying the same or more anywhere else. And the young lady up front was very sweet to my restless young sons who had trouble sitting still longer then 15 min. It takes a village to raise a child.

I made an appointment to have my brakes looked at and to have my vehicle inspected, and basically wasted my time. I was told what they thought may be wrong with my brakes and given an outrages price, and couldnt even do a vehicle inspection due to the inspection machine not being there. I made an appointment a week in advance for no reason.... Not to mention one of the mechanics left the shop because his dog had puppies.... Ill never go here again!

Went here to get an oil change, tire rotation and tire repair, they couldnt get the tire repair done bc the tire repair machine was down, took it back a couple days later to get the tire rotation and tire repair done, took a bit longer then expected so they did those free of charge! Great car shop!

Specifically made an appointment so I wouldnt have to wait long as we have a three week old. All I needed was a patch of a tire and oil changeWith an appt- arriving 15 min early-- I stil had to wait more than an hour AND the tire repair machine is broken- would have loved a phone call. Now I still cant drive my baby around.Poor service for someone who has a appt.Update-- came back as instructed and have been sitting waiting for 1.5 hours...

I just moved to Ypsilanti recently and I was cautious going into a new mechanic. These guy are very friendly and they dont BS people. They dont try to sell you stuff you dont need. Twice I went in to get my car checked and they didnt even charge me. I would recommend these guys to anyone in the area. Also they have the cheapest oil change around.

Took my Chrysler 200 in for an alignment and it took them 4hrs to figure out they couldnt do the work cause their machine Is not updated for the 200? What, Really? Dont use them at all.

Brand new car (Less than 2k miles) got a piece of shrapnel in the tire. They demanded we replace all four tires because of it being an all-wheel drive. Took it to the dealership and they said since it was a brand new car, we only had to replace the one tire.Shady, shady shady.
