Do NOT order anything from this place. We placed an order thru them online for 6 bottles of a Columbia valley wine the Vivino app. It was $33 a bottle so a good high priced bottle. We opened up the first bottle and the smell was nasty. It smells like mold and mildew. It tastes exactly like mold n mildew also. Just not good.We contact this merchant to let them know as one would think they would care n want to know. But all the person did was defer us back to Vivino. He had NO interest in doing anything. He didn’t even ask the name of the wine. He wanted to do nothing. Totally unacceptable.So yes I will be contacting Vivino now and wanting a refund for whole order. We thought by contacting merchant maybe they would just send a replacement bottle from a different batch to make it easy. So now you can get a chargeback n we will make sure to NEVER buy a wine off of Vivino if this merchant is the seller of it! Beware of this merchant! They just don’t care!!

DC Top spot for craft beers..

Not a very pleasant experience. Products bare way overpriced and I picked up a product with a tag stating money off. When i was rung up, I was still charged the original price. When I asked about it, the gentlemen said it was already added. Taxes are not about 30%. Wont be doing business here anymore.

Hi,C&B is the best around. Good range of beers, wine (US and imported) and spirits; my primary purpose in the shop was to stock up on the 1.75 liter bottle of premium Tanqueray gin. Bargain price. Closes rather early so dont hesitate. Nice staff, slightly remote as is the US style. Still, I guess they knew what I was after ...

Went there yesterday to find a 25th wedding present for my husband who has just decided he likes bourbon. I had just come from another store where the guy behind the counter remained exactly where he was (talking to his friends) and pointed me to the whiskey section when I came in with questions. Walked right out of there and went here. Jared, who was behind the counter at Hop Cask and Barrel when I came in, got up right away to help. He was wonderfully patient with me and enormously helpful. He really knew his stuff --I mean really!! -- and was happy to teach me without being at all patronizing. Plus he helped me select a couple of bottles that are quite hard to find. They had many many varieties in stock. I would highly recommend Hop, Cask and Barrel -- and particularly Jared -- if you are looking for a really good selection of high quality spirits and knowledgeable staff.

I love this store! The staff are wonderful, patient and knowledgeable! If you have something bad to say about them then I would have to say you caught them at a bad time or off day. They have even waited for me after closing to get my items.NOW that is customer service!

One of the best craft beer selections in the city. Always on top of any and all new releases. Great pricing too being so close to Georgetown.

This liquor store has a great selection of wine, beer, liquor and anything else you might need. It is well lit on the inside with everything easy to find. The staff are also very helpful and nice. You can reach it via bus or by walking.

Felt a little bait and switched here. Used Untappd to find rarer beers and they werent able to produce them once I got there. Gave me the run around for awhile, only to say they couldnt find it, must be sold. Then asked about a whole box of beer behind the counter, showed me a bottle, said I would take one for them to tell me, Oh no, a customer has bought all of that. They definitely had a good selection, pretty reasonable prices, but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

If you want a shop with a wide range of everything with an abv label, this is your place. The beer selection is probably the deepest, followed by liquor, then wine. If you need to have something they dont carry, youre too far up your own ass to care about this review.
