Dr Douglas Swindell is the funniest most caring optometrist I’ve ever been to. He is very professional and has a good heart towards the concerns at the appointment. The staff is amazing and very tentative and kind. I would highly recommend this location ❤️

Super pleased with this place! I was able to find some fabulous new frames for every day wear and some super cute Rx sunglasses as well. Friendly, helpful staff & great prices. I was able to bring my Rx to them from my eye doctor & I was able to get them back within an hour! (Might not be the case each time but lucked out they had my Rx on hand) I normally have to wait 2+ weeks for them at my eye doctor. I will be back.

Incredible service. I came in with a pair of badly beat up glasses from a fall that they were really helpful in in fixing. Daphne specially was just outstanding in the amount of time and care she took to fix badly bent out of shape glasses and get them back to normal. I have been coming here for years to get my glasses and this time I felt so much pressure from the sales associate while looking at frames. Upon a quick google search, he was just looking for the commission. Having to spend 800-1000 a year on glasses is stressful enough, I don’t need to be taken advantage by the sales associate. I also asked if I got vision insurance how it would help, and he refused to answer me. Another associate overheard and was much more helpful on letting me know how it would save me. I will look into going to different associate anytime I have to come back.
Seemed super flexible to include weekend appointments. However to have my prescription rechecked because I cant see out of my new glasses...Scheduling is into mid March. I didnt buy my frames through Lenscrafters, just got my eye exam and prescription for new glasses. Instead of a customer service lets make this right vibe, it felt like the issue could be placed back in the lap of the eyeglass store I went too.
Customer service was very patient and helpful and overall friendly. I would recommend Lenscrafters to my family and friends.

I just tried to schedule an exam with this Dr. and I drove 45 minutes here for them to tell me they do not fully accept my insurance. I wish they would have reiterated this when I called them prior to my appointment but “their system was down” while trying to talk to them on the phone and the girls working at the front desk seem completely confused and unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend.

I went here recently and I found all the staff with the exception of the doctor was great . He was rude and unwelcoming. He was speaking to me in a condescending tone and quite frankly made me uncomfortable. I shut down because at that point I didn’t even want to be there anymore. If it wasn’t because I had run out of contacts I would’ve walked right out of there. That has never happened to me in any eye doctor or doctors office I’ve ever been too. I can assure you I will never return.

I give 5 stars for the following. Walked in with glasses pair needing repair expecting to have to leave them or at best have to return for that service but a friendly staff person (first I spoke to) took them and in minutes returned with them fixedI then asked to set up a time to look for new glasses - again. Expecting to make an appointment but same staff member started me through the process immediately to select two pairs of glasses.Was told would take two weeks but 1st pair only took 1 week.Very rare these days that you get service same day and same person you make initial contact with helps you through to the end with your needs in this industry

Doctor couldnt figure out my contacts prescription, even after three tries (initial and two follow ups). I had a fourth try that would have been free, but my prescription isnt that complicated (myopia with astigmatism), so I gave up. The eye doctor even told me that it was going to be hard, so it feels like he gave up before he even started, you know? I have never had so much trouble. My last eye doctor was spot on first try every time, but he went to practice in another state. This LensCrafters charged $140 after insurance for the eye exam, and then I got an explanation of benefits saying that I should have paid only $30. They scheduled me for an appointment without my knowledge, and when I called to cancel, they just said sure and hung up. My name is not the easiest to spell, so I am not confident that my appointment is actually cancelled because my name is the only information that they asked for. I dont think Ill even bother to try getting the $110 back if they cant even do an appointment cancellation with any manners.Update 3/14/2020: I just got an email about the aforementioned appointment. The woman who answered the phone and told me the appointment would be cancelled lied.
Truly great service and selection! This place is fantastic and the employees are super nice and professional! They made the whole experience wonderful! They didn’t have the color I wanted in stock and Danny was able to not only get them in but super fast! Will be shopping here from now on with all my eye glass needs!

I have recently had the pleasure of seeing Dr Swindell and his staff from the beginning of my visit to choosing my glasses the staff was helpfully and friendly. This will be my new eye doctor of choice from now on.
Ive been a patient of Doctor Swindells for at least 10, maybe 15-20 years. He is the consummate professional, beyond exceptional, yet very humble and understated. I wish I could give him 10 stars. He is that good! He will do his best to determine the best eye lens prescription for you, and help resolve any other eye issues you might have. He has my highest recommendation - latest and greatest technology with old school service and dedication. Hes the best in the field!

I dont understand how they charge over 200 for a exam alone when you can go to americas best get a contact and eye glasses exam plus walk away with two pairs of basic glasses for cheaper then their exam price alone.
The eye doctor here is very professional takes the time to make sure that your vision is correct and fully explains the entire process. I would highly recommend this a doctor if you havent had your eyes checked recently or even if you had it done in the last year hes very professional and found that in fact my prior prescription was actually slightly to Strong.I found a very cool looking Ray-Ban frame and within the hour I was out the door with brand new glasses I think it really only took them about 25 minutes to actually do the order once I submitted it.I couldnt imagine the process any simpler than the experience you recieve here
My experience at this Lens Crafters was wonderful! I was greeted warmly when I came in, saw the Dr. right away and he was fabulous and the perfect mix between educational and silly! Every single staff member, including Danny Bledsoe the store manager, were kind and fast with my needs. I had fun picking out my new glasses! When they came in, I was informed and even got my glasses shipped to me! So kind! So wonderful! Strongly recommend!
I was so disappointed with my eye exam. The Dr. never looked at my eyes. I had asked if they could check if I had fiberglass particles on my eyes. I also have a history of corneal ulcers and it is nice to have them say they dont see any but they do see the scars from previous ones.Lots of hard sell for progressive lenses which I did not want. I wanted bifocals. He must get a bonus for every progressive he talks people into.On top of that they do not have the latest Lenscrafter technology for digital scanning to determine your prescription. It is the old school, is this or that better. I did not realize they did not do the digital eye scan as if I had I would not have gone there. They do a retinal scan which isnt the same thing for determining your prescription.The location does not have much to select from for frames. All in all I regret going here.
We went in to have my girlfriend’s glasses adjusted. They were giving her horrible headaches from how tight they were. I’d also noticed that they had some weird bend downwards like a pair of butterfly wings. Allie gave us incredible assistance with a lot of helpful information that we had not previously received at America’s Best.The adjustment was free, and she basically gave my girlfriend a brand new pair of glasses from all of the adjustments she made. She isn’t in pain anymore, and we both learned a lot more about our glasses. We’ve both had glasses less than a year, and Allie made us feel so much more knowledgeable about everything. This is how buying glasses should be! Lens Crafters, give this employee a raise! She has gone above and beyond. We will be back before your March 50% lenses deal ends. Thank you Allie!
Ive been a patient of Dr Swindel for 7 years and he has always been the greatest! I have been seeing optometrists all my life and I would recommend him highly. Last time I went to see him, I actually overpaid and they sent me a refund without me even knowing about it. Now thats customer service!

I would give zero stars if could. Called to order more contacts was straight up told, sorry were busy I cant place youre order, and was hung up on. Called back to speak with manager and took 15 minutes on hold to even get her. I ended up ordering and will never return.

Very disappointed with the billing portion of our recent transaction at the Thorton, CO location. I had originally gone in a received one quote for a certain lense. When I went back was told that the first quote was incorrect because my prescription was too high so I purchased the lenses that they told me would work. Two days after my purchase they called and said that the lab could not make the lenses they charged for and that the first quote was in fact correct and there was a difference of 100 dollars. As professionals they should have known this. When I asked about honoring the initial amount of purchase the representative stated the system does not allow for adjustments. When we first visited this location we were offered a $50 discount which was applied by the representative. So blaming the system for not being able to do the right thing was a bit fetched.
I have never met such amazing people in the eye business! The ladies up front and the gentleman were completely helpful and friendly! Dr. Swindell is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! He listened to us and knew what he was talking about. He wasnt trying to upsell anything which is also amazing! He told me about an eye problem I was unaware of and was very knowledgeable. I learned new things! Both my husband and I will be returning!

Top 2 tips for customers- 1. ALWAYS save your old glasses until you are completely sure that your new prescription is working perfectly for you. 2. Dont ever hesitate to return to the store if you are concerned that you may have been given the wrong prescription. (You should never feel embarrassed to return with a customer complaint for the health care provider). This particular store got me in for an eye exam very quickly on 9/2/15 and my customer service experience was very good initially. Unfortunately, during my eye exam the optometrist was interrupted by an employee with a question which broke her concentration and caused her to write down other numbers which were not for my prescription. When I picked up my new eyeglasses I had mentioned that something felt very blurry but one of the employees mentioned that it is totally normal to feel that for a few days and then youll adjust.... So I took that in good faith and went home. I became unable to walk normally and almost stepped on our dogs feet twice. I became very dizzy and nauseous. By the end of the first night and into the 2nd day I knew something was very wrong so I drove back up to the store on 9/3/15 and asked if they would please re-confirm my lenses. I also felt very unsafe to drive in to work on the first morning with my new eyeglasses. Upon my return the employee confirmed that I had been given the wrong numbers and they would make the correct lenses right away. My new glasses were ready less than 2 hours later and they seem to be working very well for me. Ultimately, I missed 2 extra hours of work and had to drive 2 extra trips to get the correct prescription. I think that the appropriate response for the Thornton LensCrafters and DOUGLAS SWINDELL & ASSOCIATES INDEPENDENT EYE DOCTOR would have been to issue me at least a 75% refund. I think that a quality organization would have issued a full refund. If I were to ask Dr. Swindell to miss 2 hours of work, unpaid, and have to make 2 unnecessary trips out of his way I wonder what his response would be? I think that 1 star is a fair review, all things considered. I would not recommend this LensCrafters.
I called to make an appointment for an eye exam. The lady on the phone was unbeleivably rude. I made an apointment and asked how much the exam was and she qouted $189. I brought up how the one that used to be at the orchard was only $100 and she jumped down my throat saying how all LensCrafters were individualy owned and the one at the orchard may have been $100 but this one is not and told me the exact date the orchard location closed down.. As if that was important! I just canceled my appointment right away. If thats the first impression I wouldnt want to find out any more about the place and Im sure this location will close too if this girl keeps answering the phone.
