The store is dirty, disorganized, and many price tags are either missing or very small. I saw a pack of spices with lots of insects flying in it. I was very happy that I found an Indian grocery store in the neighborhood, but this store definitely needs a change in management.
Grateful fir 🌲 this place, friendly guy at the counter. Great tea selection.
Dont go to this store. Every item is over charged and refuse to give the receipt. These people are fraud!
Very nice owner and a great selection of frozen specialty breads, dry good staples, spices, tea, fresh samosas and desserts in to-go fridge, and a tiny vegetable section up front.
Rude cashier, cash only, decrepit looking store
The store has seen better days, but the staff is nice and the samosas are tasty.
Good Indian Grocery store
Food is absolutely amazing! They have Haldirams Minute Khana, a great option for a college student short of time to make food, and its pretty cheap at $3.00 a pack -- as cheap as Trader Joes. And Maggi, papad, parathas, and all sorts of spices and ingredients.Shop-owner is helpful, and seems like a nice guy. If youre going to get Indian food, support an Indian while doing it! He deserves it, and his prices are good anyway! You definitely cant get all your groceries here, but its a great place to stop by if youre looking for some amazing, authentic, easy-to-make Indian food at a good price. Its also a short walk from a Trader Joes, so you can get the rest there.
I used to come here all the time for my spices. They used to have an awesome selection of spices at really reasonable prices. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Im not sure if they changed ownership or something, but the spice selection is pretty disappointing now (and definitely not as cheap as before). Its as if theyre just selling whatever inventory they had on hand a year ago and are not replenishing their supply. I dont think Ill be back.
This guy is a FRAUD and cheater. . He has mostly expired things in his shop. We purchased sweets and noodles from his shop which expired last month. Unfortunately, we didnt check expiry date before buying them. When we reached home we noticed that both these things were expired more than a month ago. Next day we called him to inform that things are expired but he started shouting on us and saying that Its your problem. You should have checked it before buying. He bluntly declined to take back these expired things and hanged up phone.Later I found out that someone else also got fooled in similar way by this store. Now I am trying to find contact details of some consumer care where I can complaint about this store for keeping expired things and saving someone else from becoming a victim of his fraudulent activities. If someone knows where to complain then please tell me else I am sure I will be able to find it very soon.I wish I could give negative star to this store.
I noticed insects inside a cashew packet at their store
Really disheveled East Indian grocery store but only place in this area where you can find pickles papadums spices and Indian snack items. Fresh samosas sandalwood soap incense and basmati rice. Unfortunately very limited fresh vegetables if any
I have mixed feelings about this grocery store. Good things: The only Indian grocery store in the U-district. They always have basic necessities.Bad things: The shop keeper, who is not the owner (his daughter and son in law owns it), is in his 70s - super weird, rude, misogynist, unprofessional man. Price of items will not always be marked - so you dont know if you are paying more. You can not get an itemized bill, so forget about returning. They have expired goods which you cant return if you dont check before purchasing. Dont go if you have other resort to avoid harassment.
Has expired goods. When I took expired good to shop to return, owner started to threaten me and said, you can do whatever you want and, he will not be returning anything. When I said that I will contact consumer goods department, then he became mad and started to throw stuff at me. I decided to run away from the shop as did not want any un-necessary troubles.
I love going to monts and getting candy and gum but it is pretty expensive. It is great for candy and ice cream but not so much for groceries....
DO NOT GO HERE!!The guy who works there is super creepy. He recently exposed his genitals to a friend of mine. For your own safety, do NOT go here!!!
Dont go there unless you want to be duped. The shop keeper looks for every chance to over charge you if you are not careful enough. The stuffs are mostly old and extremely overpriced.
Good Indian grocery store near University. But if you get a chance to visit Bellevue, then please ignore going to this.
Under new management. Good selection of spices that youd otherwise have to get in bellevue (a long trip for those without a car), stuff like kasuri methi, anardana, mustard oil. Also has puja supplies, body and hair care, snacks, and a few vegetables like indian eggplant, potato, tomato, onion. Large frozen selection of paratha, chutneys, quick meals, etc... good neighborhood spot.
Only Indian kind of grocery shop in the area can support our immediate needs. Friendly shopkeeper .
Always great service. Small but family run and friendly.
Place in U district for Indian spices and frozen Indian rotis ..You also get rice here. Though not exhaustive inventory, its okay-ish place for Indian and south Asian items
Friendly owner. Pretty much the only store to get Indian food at in the U District
Great Indian grocery store
(Dont EVER go here) I used to buy beer at this place but the last time I went in, he charged my card twice for my purchase. That wasnt a big deal to me, but I just told myself I wouldnt go back. The owners english is really bad and I wasnt sure I could communicate the problem to him.More importantly, I will be seriously and outwardly avoiding this place forever since last weekend when my friend was locked in and cornered in this store by the owner. She was alone and it was late at night and he tried to sexually assault her. Since shes shared what happened, Ive read a lot more of these instances from other young women. He must do this a lot. Please by all means avoid this place.
Its a really small store. Not much variety. Rate is also high. Can go in case you need emergency Indian kitchen supplies because its the only Indian store in the northern part of Seattle.
1. Always vague on pricing.2. Receipt is not detailed and only has entries like Item 1, Item 2 etc.3. Dont open on time as per the timings on web
Does not accept card below 5 dollars
Creepy old man
Overpriced and very few options and products.
Pricey and the owner tends to overcharge your items. Always ask for a receipt.
A lot of expired stuff and ridiculous pricing
Small shop, prices are not mention on products and staff quite rude
Check for expiry date, sells expired stuff. They do not give you an itemised bill.
Only place in Seattle for Indian supplies. Frozen food is a bit expensive though.
Overpriced and Expired food
Quick trip
They sell expired products and overpriced.
Overpriced and sells expired products
Old expired products
Very expensive.
Yikes!!!!!
