Nice grocery store with lots of good unique finds and great homemade items however had the rudest interaction with a bagger who worked here. She honestly did not seem sober and was throwing things into bags with no regard of if they stayed safe. I bought a plant which she chucked promptly destroying its leaves and sending dirt everywhere. Bought some sushi which she threw in the bag making the lid fall off and all of the sushi fell into my bag. Also bought a birthday card which I watched her aggressively crumple before shoving it in my bag. It was horrible half of the stuff I bought was destroyed or had it’s packaging busted. I have never had an interaction like this nor am I one to write reviews but I can not get over how awful this lady was. I hope this is brought to the attention of management.
Perhaps the best spot with regards to supermarkets. The incentive for cash and nature of the food is difficult to beat. The store isnt so huge however practically complete fundamental requirements. This spot is exceptionally advantageous for the individuals who dont need a packed supermarket. A decent spot for purchasing your regular necessities. Enthusiastically suggested!
The food is fresh. However the cashier definitely needs more traning who always asked us where/what vege we get, so he knew the price he needed to put into system. We bought lots of vege and it took us almost 10mins to check out.
The best grocery store I have ever been to in my entire life (as of this time).I am a Seattle transplant from Texas. In Texas, we have big chain supermarkets like HEB or Central Market (a bougier version of HEB), and this store clearly surpasses all of them. The customer service, the extensive selection of goods, and the quality of goods...wow!In the produce section, you literally have employees that are shucking vegetables to ensure none of the vegetables/fruits are spoiled or browned. Everything is super fresh here! All the products are neatly lined on the shelves like someone has grocery-OCD.They literally have EVERYTHING; its not limited like Whole Foods. They have products at every single price points. They have coffee brewing tools, a huge variety of spices, etc. They even have a kitchen tools section selling really expensive Japanese knives, Peugeot pepper grinders, and Le Creusets. The prices arent all bad either; I think Whole Foods is more expensive. Everything is clean here as well! All they need is offer a delivery service and I will give my first-born to them. Also, the cookie. THE COOKIE. You cant stop by this place without getting this.Visit this place for all your grocery needs. Best ever.Edit - just had to come back on here and thank Met Market because when I first showed up to Seattle, I wasnt impressed by QFC or Whole Foods. The produce section was extremely limited. Then I discovered Uwajimaya, which was fantastic!!!!! But its located a bit aways and kind of inconvenient to take the 40 min bus ride to ID. When I discovered Met Market, I felt like I could finally call Seattle home. There was this Japanese mayo that I was struggling to find in Whole Foods / QFC that I had to go all the way to Uwajimaya for...its actually there in Met Market. Along with other necessities!!!Seriously. The best. I cant emphasize this enough.
The Neiman Marcus of grocery stores. Classy special unique products fabulous fresh deli selection and salad bar. Their annual Peach festival with truly ripe peaches of superb quality is a high point. No other grocery store here comes close. But remember everything comes at a price. I saw a wee tiny clear plastic cube of bear shaped candies that was $29.99 today. Take heed.
The salsa I bought had best by date of 10/8/21 but had moss like growth on the 6th of Oct 21 itself 😟
Visiting this supermarket was the best decision ever! I was able to find all the stuff I need at home. It was a clean and neat place to do some shopping with canned food. Their offered assistance was trustworthy. I admired their people who accommodated my concerns professionally as expected. Thank you so much to all of you!
Some nice food products but the employees a really unprofessional. The butcher made a big fuss about not being able to hear asking a question with my 😷 on. On of the employees cut in front on me in line while I was carrying a lot of groceries. Not what I would expect from a premium expensive market.
The best part of the shop is that you can do anything you want quickly and easily. Theyre always where I get my frozen food, and its delicious! Many of the items are reasonably priced! The room is large and immaculate! This is such a lovely place!
Their freshly baked chocolate chip cookie is decadent and unforgettable. You get it at their little cafe area.
Nice high end grocery, its really all about the house made products. I dont bother coming to this store for basic groceries. Like I said, all about house made products and specialty food items.
The staff is very friendly here and I usually find what I need with ease.Their fruit and vegetable selection is wide, although quiet expensive but still pretty good. Love The Cookie!! Highly recommended.
Beautiful market with a lot of awesome choices. I love the various foods that can be taken home and prepared. The food is locally sourced and delicious.
Staff super helpful even though they were about to close Brian was extremely helpful!Thank you!
Met Market has been my go-to grocery store for the past three years and has yet to disappoint. Their selection of fresh produce and the variety and quality of the goods they offer make this a one-stop-shop for everything I need throughout the week.I also have to commend their safety precautions during the pandemic. The cart cleaning station is right by the entrance, there are markings on the floor for where you should stand in line, and the store workers are very polite and understanding.
I like the poke here and coffee. They have a huge selection of food. Parking is 2 hours free. They also have a good breakfast bar.Update: They don’t have rolls anymore that I really like. As usually with the crisis, limited choices. They have a plastic shield at the cash register but I don’t feel very protected as a customer. The cashiers don’t wear gloves or masks. They try to enforce social distancing with customers using floor stickers but the cashiers are way too close when bagging and loading grocery without gloves and face mask. It is uncomfortable how not protected they are and how many people go through the line per hour. If they have to load grocery into people cart 3-7 times per hour alone, they getting too much exposure to guests. This store doesn’t have self check out so as a customer, wear your mask and gloves so you can protect yourself because I feel this store isn’t doing enough for their employees. Other stores in the area are taking precautions and their employees are still testing positive so I think this store needs to consider safety for many of their guests. It was also quite crowded in the store. Hopefully they put their workers first by providing gloves and masks.
My husband and I took a lunch break here. Its a great location with lots of food vendors and places to eat. The larger market was too big for us to walk around in the time we had, but it appeared to be very large and impressive. Its hard to believe this is in a densely populated city.
Meteopolitan Market is the best grocery in the city. Their selection of prepared food, suppliments, cheese, liquor and wine, local purveyors, pastries and deserts, kitchen and dining accessories, flowers, and groceries is top notch. I would describe them as a nice cross between QFC and Whole Foods with better, friendly service. Frequently, when I couldnt find a product I wanted, they ordered it for me. And in a couple cases they now stock it regularly. They also have free parking that doesnt require validation. There is no getting around the fact that Met Market is expensive, but they offer so much selection, convenience, and service, I will keep coming back.
Pricier than QFC but the produce is better and more diverse, the bread has a good selection of locally made, and the deli has a lot of good options for olives, cheeses, and quick meals. When I have a few extra dollars to spend I definitely choose to spend them here.
Ive been coming to this location for the past 2 or so years to buy my coffee beans since they usually have the best selection. The only thing thats more consistent than their coffee selection is how rude the cashiers are. Like I really hope Im not adding to their stress or something but I frequently find myself being talked down to or have a unwarranted passive aggressive remark thrown my way. I cant even single out a person, its most of them it seems. Maybe they were trained to act holier than thou since met market is a kind of snobby place to begin with...
I used to love going here but your cashiers are so rude. Specially this gentleman who is bald and works as the cashier, I asked him a question and it felt like a confrontational conversation. Last week same thing, asked a question to this cashier gal and she was super rude. I think you all should focus on more customer service training otherwise you all are just a Safeway premium store in my eyes...I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
The cut fruit, charcuterie, and sandwiches are delicious. The workers there have always been super helpful and friendly the many years Ive been going there.
Met Market is basically Trader Joes, without the Hawaiian shirts. Upscale, and up-priced, but not too bad.Get your foofy stuff there, and get your TP at Safeway.
A great shopping center. Always a bit busy with parking being a little challenging but thats Seattle in general.
Great selection of any goods! Impeccably clean and nice place. Its probably the best Grocery shop. I visited this shop because they have all the stuff I need. They have fresh meat and the products were all organized. If you are looking for a very affordable and clean Grocery shop, this is the place to go!
You guys make the best poke in all of Seattle!!! The albacore poke is amazing don’t stop making it lol. I just bought 4 containers today. I’m obsessed!
The customer experience is of the utmost importance to the dedicated staff at Met Market and the selection and quality of the foodstuffs is incomparable. I have been a fan for many a year and have always been pleased 😀
Had a craving for yogurt and the super helpful checker and had a nice chat about current flavor favorites. He was honest enough to divulge his fav wasnt sold there. Flash of the Xmas classic movie sentiment.
They carry some indian food made by sribella brand - sribella.com
Visiting this supermarket has saved me on quite a few occasions already. I want to commend the people working in the stores because they are all fast and reliable in helping you get what you want to buy! They also offer free delivery if you have bought too much to carry on! Excellent service!
Terrific selection of fresh fish, produce, cheese, and so much more. Also love the sugarfina candy display and the selection of kitchen supplies. Aisles are spacious and not cramped like some other locations can be. Definitely check out the cookie at the bakery if you like chocolate chip cookies.
Lovely staff, easy to find items. Look forward to going again
Nice products, but bottom of the barrel costumer service. Some of the cashiers are so rude thats borderline uncomfortable. Today was last metropolitan market visit
Great selection of hot and ready to eat food. Plus a great place to find coconut cream pie from Dahlia Bakery
Great place, super clean, friendly staff, amazing product variety and quality!
Flower lady with long curly hair was so sweet and helpful and truly cared about helping me and I could tell she sincerely also cared about her job. Thank you so much for such an unremarkable, positive experience!
I love this market it has lots of fresh meals to appease any appetite.
Ive been to this location over 50 times just in the last few months. I see a lot of comments/reviews about this met market in regards to racial profiling and unfortunately, I agree with them as Ive encountered very similar experiences as well. Its a shame as theyre located in a central location of Seattle where there are a lot of people from various backgrounds, ethnicities and of genders and identities. The management should be ashamed of some of these employees and highly reconsider their hiring practices. Ive also had many instances where a caucasian male/woman customer in front of me was treated so warmly by the cashier asking about their day, making small talk, laughing, etc and I go up and I say, hello! and barely get a hi back; just zip quiet. They do have the best mac and cheese Ive probably ever had (not the cold, packed ones - go to the deli when they have it on hot plate) so because of this, Ill definitely go back but wont buy much groceries from here again.
Favorite grocery store anywhere. Best of the chain is in West Seattle however this is a close second. Staff is incredibly helpful, store is organized and makes you feel inspired to grocery shop...seriously. We picked up items from the deli for a picnic at the Washington Arboretum. Sushi was tasty, fruit was juicy and prime rib sandwich was mouth watering. Best stop to shop for your next picnic.
Very good local in center of action. Easy parking, good choice of shops...
I came for the cookies, was not disappointed
Props to this market security for dealing w vagrancy and theft on march 8th. The city is going to heck and Im glad some businesses are keeping their customers safe
A premier store with everything needed for your epicurean delights. Sparkling fresh produce. Choice wines &spirits. Flowers & giftware.
I am a man of asian ethnicity and went togo shopping for some wine and groceries, as I was checking out with the cashier trying to show my id and complete the credit card transaction, the cashier lady behind me yelled into my ear point blank range without warning to go back to the end of the line where the red circle that it made my ears ring, I went back as told and only to stall my purchase transaction and the people behind me for 4 minutes.I had looked over to the other cashier lines for the majority of the crowd was caucasian and had no similar issues to mine.It was a disturbing experience and I hope that no one else has to experience this.
Love met market! Great selection, very polite staff. Fruits and veggies are top notch. As expected prices are outrageous but on par with Whole Foods.
It is almost like a normal Sunday. Easy to find what you need and an easy checkout.
Great staffGreat deli
Sub-par place. West Seattle better in my opinion. The seafood looked old, aisles were cluttered, and one of the staff was insanely rude to my friend. We believe it was a case of racial profiling. She was buying coffee and had her bag in the same hand as the coffee when a male worker asked her what she was doing, she said buying the coffee, and he said to give him the coffee before telling her “I think it’s time for you to leave”. It is insane that this could happen to someone I know of and looking at the other reviews it looks like this Met Market needs a little staff meeting to address their attitudes. Go to another Met Market.
The produce quality at this location is top notch.
Great place to shop for delicacies. This is the only store I know of to offer cheese curds. The store is always clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the products are priced alright. I like the location as well. Easy in and out, lots of parking out front.
This place was ok. Plenty off handicap parking. lots of things to buy!
Ive been shopping here for over 10 years due to its proximity but I do not recommend them. Majority of the staff is rude and prices get more ridiculous every day. Even with an exemption they will not let you enter without a mask.
I shop here nearly every day as it is the best grocery store in my proximity. They have some of the freshest produce and all of their departments are first class. The reason for the three stars is because they have some of the rudest cashiers. Every single day the same attitude. The worst offender is an older lady with glasses named Sue Yarkosky. Shell even throw money or groceries at you.But it doesnt matter which cashier, theyre all sour. I put up with it and will continue to shop there because it is the best grocery store around. Its worth the abuse. It would be perfect if only they hired some nice people.
As a school bus driver who is out and about all the time and doesn’t always want to bring a lunch or needs to use the restroom this is our go to place! Lots of different meal options for everyone who is in town for the day from our district! If I bring my lunch I always will purchase The Cookie as a treat and so that I can use the restroom as a paying customer! The cookie is so good and fresh! I love their soups, their selection of cheese, already made deli foods, desserts, and salad items are pretty large in my opinion and they do have things I’ve never seen at other grocery stores before! Thanks for letting us bus drivers hang out at your store to eat and use the bathroom
I gave it 3 stars because the security guard they have reminds me of Barney Fife. Im there every morning getting my latte & lunch before going to work close by. Hes creepy by staring at customers who arent doing anything but shopping before work. Management - please educate him.
Loved this place! Super clean, bright, great design, lots to choose from for all your grocery needs. Even a nice gift shop with home goods. Really great supermarket with great staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of organic, natural, gluten free, and food bars, deli, soups. If youre hungry, great place to grab a meal. Theres a Poke Bar, Salad Bar, Soup Bar, Hot Food Bar, as well as prepared sandwiches and ready to eat deli items. Two choices of places to sit and eat. Great location with easy access from bus, walking, driving- free parking!
Our go to store at our neighborhood. The store practically has all the basics I would need in out household... great selection for more than I expected. Located at a very convenient location where I can walk down from my apt. BEST OF ALL... very nice owners. They truly value their customers that they remember you by name. Owners are also polite, helpful & very friendly.
So honestly it seemed like this store has a great stock of high quality and products. I would love to give it a higher rating, heck I would love to go back in. Unfortunately one of the workers on the night shift incorrectly seems to think that I have stolen something there in the past because he followed me to the register and then demanded that I empty my bag. ...which contained only Safeway brand products...and then proceeded to insist that he was tires of wrong me....and this was just on my first ever visit....okay, buddy.
Friendly store and really like the tomato bisque soup
Love love love this grocery store. Fantastic produce, meats, deli, cheese counter, poke and salad bar, bakery, this store is top quality. Not a huge selection of canned, processed, and frozen foods. Beautiful (and pricey) flowers, plants, housewares, and gifts. Friendly customer service. 2-hour parking in the underground garage makes this store super convenient as well.
Great local market. Super nice people as well.
Bought a nice cake writing for freeYay
Bad customer service ...My daughter was doing instacart So I went With her to learn because soon I’ll be doing the same, so I asked Mr Eugene from cheese department, where i could find pepperoni, I couldn’t pronounce the name of the brand so I showed him my phone so he could read it because he couldn’t understand my accent (I am Hispanic) he refuse to look at my phone and rudely told me he wasn’t going to do my job!!But wait !! I never asked him to go get it for me!! I just asked if he knew where to find it ..... is a simple answer YES OR NOTI thought he was very rude! I looked at his name and he walked behind me and yelling at me again rudely ask me for my name And my instacart number ... and he said if I was going to complain about him he would complain about me ..... idk why! I guess for asking for recommendations?! The app says:ASK THEM(employee) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS.But they get upset!Horrible attitude of that guy!
Is it just me or the prices here have gone up and service has gone down?I remember shopping there few months back and staff was very friendly and helpful and it was pricey but not $7 for a small packet of spinach or $15 for a pouch of cherries. On top of it staff is mostly cashiers and they are very rude and seems like don’t want to be there.I was rudely told to move away from the belt when I was just transferring items from basket to the belt. I see other reviewers wrote the same thing. I can imagine there’s more stress due to Covid but that applies to everyone and isn’t an excuse to gouge regular customers while treating them poorly.I feel qfc down the road has better service self checkout counters and better prices. Also PCC is great on quality products and service just have to drive same for Whole Foods too.
This is a great market and I’m happy to have one close to my work. The downside is the price :/The orchids here are very high quality and they last quite awhile. You can definitely tell they come from a quality grow house as the leaves are very healthy! The staff is very professional and friendly, it seems like a good company to work for.I hate that I love it, but the cookie bar is always so tempting...
Food selection, particularly produce, is always great, but high prices make me go to safeway more often. Also, theyre covid response has gone way over the top. I got attitude for bringing my own bags and a separate time got rudely told to stand back behind the beginning of the conveyor belt while the cashier finished ringing up my 3 items.
The cashier who is an old guy with glasses at the register right next to the exit door asked me to stay 6 feet away from the register when I went to check out my items. He asked me to drop the basket away from the register table and step away from the register. I put the items down and moved to the spot he asked me to be and I looked around other registers, and did not see this being applied to others. Even the customer (white male) behind me was not asked to do the same thing. They were clearly in front of the register as he rang up his items. Considering I am an asian customer, I am quite offended since this does not seem to be a storewide policy being applied to all paying customers. I used to like to shopping here (I come with my husband once a week), but I will now second guess even stopping by here at all in the future.
Terrible costumer service I checked the previous reviews and I was thinking if it was my impression but the cashier by the ice cream section was very rude.I bought 4 ice creams and a pumpkin seed bread so I need my items to be bagged and he just trough my stuff to the bag the ice creams were face down and he did this on front of my 3 littles kids it was very humiliating. My kids were traumatized because you expected a decent costumer service from a place like this I hope the manager takes care of the situation .
A good store for hard to find items and high quality meat and cheese. The prepared foods are often an excellen alternative to cooking. The deli meats are common and half the price a block away outside of some very special cured offerings. A bit heavy on the attitude for retail clerks.
I love this place. Their cheese department is lovely Seafood is so fresh, produce department is well stocked and beautiful looking veggies. Great selection on wine. Best of all customer service is over the top. Although there are a handful of Metropolitan Markets scattered around the county this one is by far the best store to shop at.
Food is always fresh and great selection of cheese!
I really like this market but the prices are high on many items. Where they excel is the local fresh fruits in season. They have the best pears and peaches. They also have a solid hot food section but it can be a miss depending on the day of the week and your tastes. The employees are friendly and very competent. I stop there when Im near because its better than the QFC for sure.
Literary am going to move down the street from this place it has such top shelf everything. LolNo, seriously. Great deli, great salad bar, great Poke bar great soup... whats not to love? The floor plan is spacious and well designed. Seafood is fresh and top notch. And talk about produce, organics you name it they have it. Also great seating and close to Seattle Center.Top notch guys, really
Just moved out of state and am desperately missing Met Market. Amazing selection of meat and cheeses. A great hot food bar. Huge beer and wine selection. If you are new to the area or visiting and need a place to shop, nothing beats Met Market!
Pricing for prepped meals, deli items, and the meat/seafood are relatively high but the quality does not always reflect these pricesCustomer service is terrible, with rushy and abrasive cashiers, overworked and disenchanted floor managers, and particularly poor treatment of Instacart and Dumpling full service and in-store shoppers. The garage and store front areas are regularly frequented by drifters who make the shopping experience uncomfortable in that they either are too close to the front door, have twitchy manner, or smell.Tips:1. Pay employees more so they are not such ill-mannered cods OR fire them if you have no training or incentives in place for them to be better people2. Clean your bathrooms -- these are among the worst I have been in3. Donate food and personal hygiene to the homeless BUT make sure they keep away from foot traffic areas4. Update music choices5. Price at 30% net mark-up, once those revenues are achieved, adjust prices (perhaps using digital displays) throughout the day so that they at or lower than your competitors to reduce days on inventory
Love this store. My only qualm is the salt content on the poke. It’s so salty! Second time trying, crazy salty. Thank you for everything else you provide. Those cookies are my nemesis. I could eat one everyday they are so stupid delicious.
My go to place for good local organic produce. Their meat selection is amazing and always improving. Open 24 hours! Whats better than that. One secret which we found out not too long ago in their COOKIE!!! I love desserts and they sell the best cookie in town. I specially go sometimes just to get one cookie. They serve it warm so its irresistible.
Best place for groceries around. Incredible employee organization and always impeccable premises. Everything is always in order and staff are always on the lookout for long lines, which they are quick to remedy. Thank you Mike because you are doing an amazing job, a general at all levels, always at the font line with his staff.
Had a very very terrible experience with Karl the old guy with glasses.... while checking out and with my significant other we were told to stand 6 feet apart, understanding, we thought we were supposed to separate from each other while i stood at the machine to pay for the 4 items that i was getting. i clearly didn’t fully understand what he was asking me to do so he rudely asked and humiliated me in front of my significant other and his co workers so me to move away from the register, after moving back for 2 second i was then asked to come back up to pay? that made zero sense to me. after still doing what karl asked me to do he continued to bicker back and fourth with my significant other because he stepped in to have karl calm down with the way he was talking to a very young lady. the bagger then was trying to explain that this was the rules but her mask was also not on her face, after finishing and paying karl then rudely and aggressively threw my receipt down on the counter for me to grab, i’m a frequent shopper i live supper close, but i felt very belittled and upset the way i was talked to by karl while the other employee just watched this all happen.
Nice upscale grocery store. The fruits and vegetables are great. They have a good selection of household items as well.
I live fairly close to this store so I go often. Food quality is great, but it is a bit pricey. Going to pick up some groceries the other day I saw one of the cashiers carrying a basket for an old blind man. Great staff and will keep going back since they do kind acts like this!
Impressive and extensive.Like a large deli and butcher that has transformed into a high definition specialty grocer. Products are foreign and exotic, and theres a sense that the worlds treats are suddenly at your fingertips. Instead of appealing to the rustic and/or a healthy minded customer, the motif is more modern and tantalizing .
Thank you for maintaining impeccable premises! I love shopping at your market for everything from peanut butter and jelly sandwich to general groceries. Keep up the great work!
I was staying in a nearby hotel and was trying to put together a last minute gift basket for my wifes birthday. The floral department not only put together a nice basket, the manager personally delivered it because their delivery service had already gone out for the day. They went out of their way to help me out. Much appreciated. Five stars!
Overall, I really like met market. Yes its expensive, but I dont go there for staples. I go for prepped foods that Im not going to make at my house, or which would cost as much or more if I went out for dinner. The cookie... Meh. Its good but to be honest it reminds me of all the fuss about the Neiman Marcus cookie. Yawn. The one thing I always think of tho, is that a million years ago, this was a Larrys Market. And i loved their giant walk in drink cooler. The first week met showed up, i went into that cooler and figured out it was no longer open to customers when an employee was shocked we would even consider entering an employees only area. The horror! So, no more awesome walk in cooler on hot days. But, tasty prepared foods! I guess all good things do come to an end.
Great grocery store with friendly staff and great product. The deli is good and so is the fish
Employees have nasty attitudes when asked to bag your items. Not worth the disrespect after spending high dollar on items. My suggestion take your business somewhere else.
Love Metropolitan Market! They have the cutest (though a bit pricey) plants - heres one that they put into a pot for me and dressed up with tissue and moss. They have great housewares and gifts plus a fantastic cheese selection.
We’ve been coming here almost a year now and the selection of products is endless. The food is so fresh and well canned. My kids cannot miss to accompany us when they are informed we are coming here.
This isn’t just a marketIt’s a place to visit when in SeattleThe selections of gifts eats and a wonderful floral department with the warmest employee’sWe love you metropolitan market
Im regular customer and so far my experience is great. Nice selection of quality products. Some prices maybe a bit higher but at least I know what Im paying for.
Metro Mart is my go to place for a quick lunch or specialty foods. They have a great selection of lunch choices, including a poke bar, and a gourmet deli. The prime rib sandwich is a favorite of mine. Their meat and cheese counter and bread selection is second to none.
Great store with lots of unique specialty items. Some things are a bit pricey but worth it. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
