Why won’t this place staff cashiers? Seriously. There are huge lines and one cashier.Nice selection for the location. It’s owned by Kroger so you understand the customer service and technology. The self checkout assumes you’re a thief and doesn’t work well. There are not many registers open. There were not last week and only one today. That means lengthy wait times to check out. They literally have more security guards that check out staff. That tells you what they value and its not customer service. Sometimes people are helpful and sometimes they don’t provide customer service. I didn’t find all I wanted today but nobody was really focused on customer service so I was told maybe it’s over there or maybe we don’t have it. Not one person interacted with me today. Im giving feedback in this format and updating it and kroger doesnt seem to care.

My go to place for grocery shopping since I moved to Cap Hill two years ago. It’s bigger than the one on Pike, which is nice. The hot deli is subpar (U-Village QFC has the most slapping hot deli of all QFCs no cap) so that’s knocking it down a star. The home section is really nice and convenient, and you don’t see those in QFC too often. You also won’t get flack for clicking “no bag” in self checkout when you use like 3 so the workers are real ones 🔥 much love to this QFC 💕🥺

The place is very well stocked and actually is a very pleasant shopping experience. However, I was followed unmercifully around by security that it almost made me leave. I know it is in a dicey area and the times we are having does not help, but I did not appreciate that. It was my first time there though so I have made a point to try it again and it does seem more relaxed. Maybe theyd never seen me before. So with all that it is a beautiful store.

This wasn’t so bad a couple years ago, when they still used the back entrance and didn’t have security guards (oftentimes wearing flak jackets and carrying guns) and cameras in every aisle and above every self-checkout register. Any day now I’m expecting metal detectors to show up. Or maybe they’d like to perform a body cavity search on every lucky fifth customer that walks through the doors.I just want to buy some eggs! The only thing this location of QFC has in its favour is that there are plenty of hot, gay men dashing through, grabbing fruit and fortified water, following a brisk work out upstairs at Golds. Otherwise, QFC (salaciously nicknamed Queefs, and I what I call the Quality Food Museum) is a clean, bright, modern, moderately expensive grocery store catering only to those who can afford to inhale its recycled air. That said, I did buy a toaster there for $8, whereas Amazon sold the same thing for twice that - who knew? Pity that the bread one needs to produce toast costs roughly the same, despite the Managers Special cheapo rack ignominiously hidden away in an unlit corner of the first floor. Grocery Outlet in the CD still rules my Queer little heart.

Though if you made me list some things, it would be nice if they did grocery pickups (they already do delivery) and it would be nice if my Payless store card didnt just work as a QFC card but was actually something I could link on the website. The Amount of food waste in the Deli Section is insane!Every 2 hours 50lb of chicken is tossed away along with the entire Hot Area items such as Pizza Sticks, Jojos, and Mac and Cheese. These items go directly into the trash, employees do not get to take any of this home nor do they get to eat it for free for lunch, on top of this there is no discount on soon to be expired items. What would make more sense is: After 90min, discount all hot food products for 30min, customers can enjoy fresh hot food for the first 90min, while those who are budget conscious, or show up at the right time, can enjoy discounted hot food items.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a vegan, Ive constantly complained that this location and other Quality Food Centers did not cater to my allergy. They later added a Vegan section and only supplied Soy based products which is another allergy of mine (Soy free vegan)They soon supplied Wheat Gluten Vegan Products and I was more than willing to buy the items they had, but, unfortunately the vendor (or this location) marks up the price quite high. (6.99+ for 4 Wheat gluten sausages is insane). Id love to support the Vegan movement, If this location had more sales Id happily buy as much of this protein based food as I could, instead I walk by and wait for the price to lower. which then hurts the vendor because I refuse to pay the price listed. The Vegan/Organic Food Section hardly ever has sales and the new Bulk Food section is GREAT but its all Soy based which is probably why no ones uses it.Please support non-soy diets.

Good store overall. Quite close to where I live and they have what you need but at a fairly high price. There is savings on the shoppers card but the fuel savings in my case were pretty confusing since I could not use the card directly at the pump at the participating shell station. I had to go to the cashier and then only got 20 cents per gallon off though my June total was 277. Maybe it is in increments of 10 cents?Newly revamped bulk area is an improvement over the old one though the scale is inoperable so you still have to bag and put the PLU# on the twisty like before. Frozen foods are extensive as is the wine (a good selection below 10 bucks). Liquor is small but adequate. Fish counter is good but never seems to be open when I come by at night which is often at 10 PM. The selection of fresh breads is good. One of the guys announcing the 10 PM closure of the upstairs doors sounds like he had a bit of the peace pipe. But hey...its Seattle and in particular cap hill.Expect to be panhandled outside the main door on broadway so if it bugs you use the side exit in the rear of the deli area or go up through the wines and exit that door (before 10 PM).Update: the panhandling seems to have died down and the security guy is on guard just inside the entrance. There were likely multiple complaints or rampant theft?
