Surprisingly good! I was suspicious. But this is a friendly, quality little place. The frozen pre prepared meals are very well made, fairly priced and delicious.Try it out!
I used to love this place about a year and a half ago when it was called something else, but I havent had it for a while. I bought three lasagnas, because they were my favorite dish back then (I hadnt liked the others much back then, but the lasagna was great). The first lasagna I thought tasted a lot worse than before. I guess they dropped the quality of food. Out of nostalgia, I ate the second one, and there was one bite that tasted awful and made me throw up. I wont eat the third one. Really sad
Best burgers and fries Ive had in years! The milk shake was worth the calories!Visited 3x in 2 weeks.
A friend arranged to have a bunch of meals sent. The packaging was superb. Heres the rating of the many meals and just for starters: never us the oven. Use the Microwave only.Cottage Pie 4*Chicken Pot Pie 3 1/2Pulled Pork 4 1/2 - deliciousBraised Beef with Brandy 5*Pot Roast 1* - horrible; potatoes with skin on were not eatable while the meat was ok but too much fat on one pieceBeef Bourguignon 4* - some onion skin too toughBeef Stew - potato awful, carrots not peeled and awful; gravy very good, meat tender but must serve with addl mashed potatoes, for excess gravyPulled Pork Dijon - deliciousElliott Bay Shepherds Pie - tasty but too runny; probably needs potatoes
Enjoyed the food and they have varieties for everyone - GF, V
Great healthy meals for meal prepping or to have quick access to food without having to go for fast food. Great flavors and variety.
Yummy forget frozen food options. I love the keto creamy chicken and bacon by Russell Wilson. Its so good. I could eat it all day. Service is great and so many options to choose from. They also deliver and do pick up.
The cooking classes are really fabulous at Eat Local! My son has really had a wonderful experience in the kids cooking classes and hes so excited to go back for more! I took the handmade pasta making class and it was fun and inspiring.
A neat little shop that specializes in specialty homemade meals, like gluten- and dairy-free, all frozen for convenience. The real treat, however, are the classes. For my birthday, I took a pasta-making class. The instructor, Kat, was fun and made the class a very welcoming environment. Snacks were provided throughout, along with a complementary drink and a nice pasta meal after we made our own pasta. Though it was somewhat expensive, I feel it is certainly worth it!
My husband and I went to the pasta making class for date night. It was wonderful! Our teacher, Kyle, was engaging and funny. He did a great job of leading the night, splitting us up into groups and making it a real experience. The food was delicious, and I loved the samples from the store that are brought up throughout the night.I highly recommend the classes if you are looking for something fun to do. We also bought a jar of the homemade pasta sauce after class -- it is unbeatable.
I do enjoy Eat Local and the concept. They are a tad on the expensive side, however, when compared to frozen meals you get at grocery stores, but you have to factor in the concept when considering the price I suppose. The single entrees seem to run between $6.99 and $8.99, most of the ones I have tried being on he high end of that range.
I used to love this place. Not so much, now. Careful of this location. The black woman who works there think calling the police for no reason is ok.
Almost everything Ive tried from here has smelled and tasted off, like its gone bad before the best by date. I ordered a dozen different meals to try this place out. The first few things I tried (microwaveable entrees) were just not good, smelled unappetizing and tasted off, and I thought that the food from here must just be hit or miss in quality, because other reviews rave about it. But I tried an oven-ready dish, and couldnt even finish cooking it. It smelled so bad while roasting that I started feeling physically ill, nauseated and loss of appetite. Its not me - my boyfriend agrees about the smell, and Im not having this reaction to any other food. I have tried 6 meals, was grossed out by 5, and thats enough. I am throwing out the rest. Its a shame, I absolutely love the concept, but Ill never eat anything from here again.
Lots of good items for alternative diets, including keto, Mediterranean, paleo, vegan...might be missing one. They have individual and group portion sizes. A little on the expensive side, but still definitely cheaper than eating out. Sides, main dishes, and desserts are all available. I signed up for their loyalty club.
I love the variety of foods available at Eat Local for every diet and every craving. You can’t tell that it has been frozen and the prices are reasonable for organic food! I also love that they have a nutritionist on staff to help with any questions you may have about various diets. Would recommend this to anyone who has difficulty finding time or coming up with ideas for meal prep!
Ice cream here is amazing. Bellis I believe her name is, shes a boss, scoops the best. I have yet to try what I bought but will be on Tuesday. I cant imagine it being bad. Seems like everything is made with love so I will eat it with love as well.
I have tried a few meals so when they recently had a 20% off sale I sprung for a membership and put in a large order. The shipment came as promised and was still frozen. My complaint is that I used the website to choose my meals but many came in with vastly different nutrition amounts. I’m disappointed because I must eat low sodium for a few months and was exited to find some go-to meals I can have for lunch. Unfortunately many of the meals have over double the sodium the website said they did. Please update your website so I have realistic expectations when ordering!
The food is very good, but two stars off for poor food prep. The greens are gritty and I have bitten into lots of seeds. I dont mind the seeds so much, but I cant accept the grit. I wish it I could eat this several times a week, but I dont like paying so much for substandard preparation. The recipes are tasty and varied.
Great Authentic Mexican food, delicious drinks and Excellent service
Nice People, Not So Nice FoodTragically under-seasoned and flavorless. The protein portion did not seem fair considering the price. There was probably a quarter chicken breast in an entree for $9.50. Most of the meal was watered down coconut milk.TV dinners taste better, in comparison. Just get Trader Joes frozen meals for half the price.
Nice small class, instructor ver nice and knowledgeable. Samples of what they actually prepare were brought around to us all throughout our pasta making class, fresh local ingredients! Will definitely go again!
I took a pasta making class here with a friend as their Christmas gift. The class was excellent, so I recommend there for sure. We also got to sample some of their prepared frozen dishes (which they warmed up for us) and those were also tasty.
Good service. Portions look small (especially the proteins) for what you are paying ($9+ per individual serving). They have a large selection of Keto meals, however, not all of them fit the Macronutrient % that can varies greatly depending on your body type and needs.
We took a pasta making class. It was a little extra booked. But it was a great hands on experience. The wife and I had a great time.
Very affordable prices for what they give you, fast and friendly service, and a good sandwich. Highly clean and well mannered staff .Highly recommended.
The staff is very knowledgeable and the food is fresh and delicious. You can always count on a good meal from Eat Local! I also especially recommend the thin crust pizzas!
If you are okay with soupy unattractive quick on the go keto meals....this might be for you.The problem I have is after getting on board with this place it has moved to a lot of CHICKEN based meals. I’m sure to maximize profitability. Chicken is the hardest meat source to source and keep quality.I much prefer their higher price point selection of lamb and beef products. The concept is awesome, but sustainably it’s just going to become a fad thing that overtime doesn’t really make up for the cost that goes in. When it comes to keto at least.I’m going to keep using them because this is the best option to date. However I would like to see their keto line retain quality and nutritional value over price and profit.
I had worked in the queen anne eat local for about 4 weeks. i didnt do anything wrong in my time there, aside from not being able to turn off the alarm one morning, when the 2 week schedaels were being handed out i told my manager that i couldent work one day and that i would hafto trade shifts, when she asked me why i told her its because i had a court date, and i was fired on the spot.Just to let everyone who reads this know, i was accused of breaking a car side mirror, i had to goto a court for a year, when the other party had no evidence for nothing, and the case will finally be closed in like october.I loved working there, ive been emancipated since i was 15 and lived month to month, i became homeless immediately after, it ruined my relationship with my girlfriend, and durring that time my mother had been commiting SS fruad so i couldent get any food or anything.i had to move out to portland after being homeless for a couple of months, and trying to work at the zoo all because my manager fired me when she heard court, she didnt ask me what i did or what it was for - and when i called the bosses to get a reason as to why i was hired, they didnt respond to me until i added my lawyer to the conversation.
Eat Local uses Postamtes to a lot of their deliveries. They request orders during rush hour and trips all the way to west seattle. The fact they consistently tip $1 for those orders is absurd, even when the postmate workers are the one that sees the customer face to face.Just to be clear this 1 star is entirely based on the staff/managers, not the food.
Ive had a couple packages delivered here before, since theyre a UPS pick up store, and theyve always placed it under the wrong name, not horrible because I still leave with my package when they find it. Today they lost my package and the girl working accused me of not having anything delivered there even after I showed her the tracking info. When I asked to speak with management she refused to give me a phone number or email to contact for customer service issues and told me to call the store on wednesday to see if her manager is even in. Ive received no notifications of pickup so its still somewhere in the store or theyve let someone into the area where they keep packages and let them walk off with it. Im offended with the way I was treated at the store tonight and will most likely not use their services or purchase items from them again.
Love this place! Great food! Convenient. Super nice people :)
Alittle on the high side and our Turkey dish was soso
Super fast service and very customer-friendly!
If I could give this a Zero-Star review, I would. We made the mistake of going to Eat local all of one time, and, the acting Manager treated my family like the scum of the earth. He refused to let us ask questions, and all but kicked us out of the store.
Very friendly and nice people, the food is also great, healthy easy and fast and soooo cheep, i will keep going back there
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR PASTA MAKING CLASS:Vanessa the teacher was very knowledgable, down to earth and above all humble. She made Kneading look like a breeze...little did we know. The hordeuvres were top notch, made with local top quality tasty ingredients. The wine was very palatable, and the best bit was that the instructions for the pasta were foolproof-I have a wee keepsake with instructions to follow for making semolina pasta, I am full of confidence after this class!Staff at the shop are very accomodating and polite, but not in a false way.A TRUE gem of a place.Ill be back.
Super friendly staff, great food, and not unreasonable prices.
Delicious and healthy food, super nice staff!
So this place is also listed as Empire Ice Cream on G-maps but it is an Eat Local store - they may source Empire Ice Cream but this is not an Ice Creame shop.
Seattle Pops... Wonderful!
Five stars indeed!
Food is wonderful there, but kinda expensive.
A lot of keto options
